| | | Dia Family Legacy
The family that's like ants - everywhere, and you can't get rid of them The Dia family is unique in a lot of senses, and utterly devoted to helping the Impedio society where they can. While nothing grand like a distant relation to those of the former kingdoms, the Dia family is nonetheless one of the most trusted name in the society, for the many great agents and leaders they have provided them with as well as being known for being large assets to uncovering several important artifacts over the years. The family was implemented into the group over four centuries ago, when there was a mass uprising of reincarnated souls from the former kingdoms emerging (not unlike the current situation, but still not quite as uncontrolled), and several of the mot capable family members volunteered to join the fight against them after many injustices occurred against their friends and family at the hands of a particularly violent elemental.
Over the years their influence simply grew, and the family' name became a staple. Eventually, they picked up a tradition to help better serve the society, even in the quiet times where no awakened could be found – they would pick those who were most loyal to bear children to ensure the society would continue to have able-bodied agents at all times. The first set of agents that were born, raised, and trained to take part in Impedio were named Terebellum, Diphda, Arcturus, Naos, and Mirach – five agents that somehow managed to make their names infamous one way or another in their lifetime. There was another set of offspring presented after these, but were considerably less...remarkable than the first.
Wanting to maintain a good image, the Dia family recycled the original names for their next set of agents, and came to a decision that that was how their agents would be recognized, even if their last name no longer meant anything – the names of their original agents would carry the legacy (and, to a lesser extent, the names of the second set were used, as well, but the names were never highly regarded and used for those who were 'backups', should any of the others die in the line of duty). Any history written about the Dia family agents have all been under the same name, with nothing but the listing of the generation they were born into telling others the Dia family isn't simply all immortal.
Over time this is what many suspected they were attempting to do – cause their names to strike more fear if they assumed the agents they sent were creatures that couldn't die, and had managed all these feats over the years. The truth I much simpler, though – every fifteen years, they send notices to the more dedicated branches of their family, informing them they will be the next proud parent of Terebellum, or Arcturus, or Diphda...so on, so forth.
currently active dia agents Arcturus DiaRaised in North Carolina. First officially stationed in Arizona. Moved to LA four months ago when odd activity began to kick up there. Terebellum DiaMajority of life to the society spent growing up and serving in Grise Fiord, Canada. Called to transfer to LA in (IC MONTH OF) May as backup. Naos DiaRaised and trained in Oslo, Norway. Called in to his first ever official post, which was the recent LA transfer. Diphda DiaInformation Unknown [Name on reserve]. Mirach DiaOriginally raised and trained in in Florida, started actual society work in New Jersey, very recently reassigned to LA like many others. Vega DiaConsidered a Lesser Name. Information Unknown. [Name is free] Alaraph DiaConsidered a Lesser Name. Information Unknown. [Name is free] Saiph DiaConsidered a Lesser Name. Information Unknown. [Name on reserve] Those who want to take one of the family members, bear in mind – all these people were stationed across the world at different places, but as it has been recently discovered that the activity is in LA, it stands to reason they can be transferred without a whole big reason to it – so no, not all of them would have been living in or around LA and hell most of them likely aren't even in the United States (if/when they are claimed, I will be listing where they were 'stationed', so if two Dia family members were in the same area, you can plot accordingly for it ). Also – as I believe the Dia family is ridiculously huge, I'm pretty sure it ranges through several different ethnicities, so feel free to make your Dia character whatever you want, even if they won't look remotely related to Arc. The only thing that I require of these characters, really, is that the names I provide be used for them, the rest is up to whoever claims the name. ALSO NOTE: These are not the only Dia agents, not by FAR, simply the big names (thus the most likely to be called in, most others would be expected to remain at their posts around the world), so I would allow one or two Dias that aren't these names (or perhaps even a member of one of their branch families - hence they wouldn't need the name 'Dia' but would be considered one), but only extraordinary agents would be called in to LA - the rest would be holding fort at their main stations.
