ALL WORK IN PROGRESS
1. Birthrights
From birth members have certain rights that they earn mattering on the connection their family has to the Society. Most are as simple as items passed down through the years. Others can be as complicated like ranks, as seen with the Dia family, a child's future training is determined the day they are named. If a rank is not determined by the family (remember that these families have had good standings with the Society) then the child is normally raised quiet normally, randomly tested through the years on their intelligence, athleticism, Problem solving and other things that may help determined what the child should be trained in when they are older.
2. Finances
Because they must keep their actions quiet, a lot of money must go into the working of the Society. This is where old money and family support comes in. Large families are encouraged within the Society due to the high death rate of its members. This is because not all members are just researchers or hunters, there are those who live normal lives for years, made to get jobs as doctors, politicians, even actors. This is all to add income and power to the Society.
3. Recruited
The IS hardly ever looks to add members from outside the families within the Society. Still there are times where some people find out about the society, and during this time it is easier to adopt that person into the mix then to waste resources watching that person for the rest of their life. Normally a person is taken in by the IS in a few ways, but the most common are by taking abandon children found on the field, or taking in teens and adults who have experienced many Fate encounters. Each situation is different and is handled differently by each leader and admins.
4. Getting in, Getting out
There is only two ways into the IS your are either born into it, or recruited later. Getting out is a bit more leaned on rumors then true knowledge. The most common way out is of course death, most members, like Creature Hunters, Artifact hunters, and even some researchers will die due to an unsuspecting attack. Because Fate is hard to hide from, there have been many attacks done on the IS by the entity. Even when someone had dedicated their life to the cause none really retire, normally just stepped down in rank until they can not work anymore. Medical reasons are normally the easiest way out, brain damage and lost of memory can lead to a life away from the Society. Other wise other injuries can just make life worse for a member used to fighting. Sometimes members deemed "useless" will be long term admitted into special hospitals, kept under watch and never freed. Be sure that there are a fair amount of sane members who are living out their days in a patted room. Mainly there is no true way out of the IS, the closest to being out is to live a "normally" life under watch, otherwise the IS is known to do some extreme things, such as committing their own members to jail, where they can be contained. If a person is too reckless and a danger to releasing information to the public, there has been rumors of murder to keeping those people quiet.
5. A detailed understanding of ranks.
Although the ranks have been mentioned many times before I thought I would make a more detailed list of every rank I could possibility think of, now please understand that creativeness is encouraged for making the rank of your IS member. Not everyone in the IS is a fighter, but those that are have different reasons to fight. Some are Hunters, there are many different types of hunters, such as Artifact Hunters (those who travel the world in search of hidden artifacts), Creature Hunters, Awakened Hunters (these are the top of the line hunters) trained to handle the most dangerous of elemental awakened humans, it takes a lot.....
