[cs=3][atrb=style,width: 460px; text-align: center; padding-left: 20px; padding-right: 20px;] Student Student at UCLA: Kyle is studying astrophysics. Even with his notions of no longer caring about exceeding societal norms, a small part of him could not leave behind the chosen field he had picked as a child. Works at a Cafe: Outside of going to school he also works at a small café in downtown LA.
[cs=3][atrb=style,width: 460px; text-align: center; padding-left: 20px; padding-right: 20px;] Appearance
[cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;] Kyle is rather typical looking for your average Asian; messy black hair, dark brown eyes, and a slightly tanned complexion. If anything about him stood out from the crowd it was that he was fairly tall standing at around five foot ten. He has some muscle thanks to taking self-defense classes, but other than that he’s not very bulky since he doesn’t like to work out in his own time. Kyle’s face is often stuck in what looks like an irritated look. Other than when he’s working, he always looks like he’s ready to fire off rapid fire remarks to anyone who bothers him. His attire is very bland just like the rest of his looks. He typically wears blue jeans, a black t-shirt, a white jacket, and white worn out sneakers. He doesn’t care much for what he wears, so his closet is filled with the same clothing. Outside of a suit for special occasions he really doesn’t have much variety.
[cs=3][atrb=style,width: 460px; text-align: center; padding-left: 20px; padding-right: 20px;] Personality
[cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;] Kyle is what one would consider a very bland person. He lives his life day to day, and he exhibits little to no ambition to escape the social norms that everyone around him expects. In fact if anyone were to ask his close family and friends how they would describe him the first word to come to any of their minds is generic. In fact the only thing that people would say sticks out is his uncanny ability to sarcastically reply to everything around him. It’s so prominent that many people who don’t find him dull often find him to be a huge asshole. He has little fear in giving off sarcastic quips to comments, or people, which appear idiotic to him. Kyle has very little restraint when it comes to this. Whether you’re a stranger, or his closest friend he’ll fire off comments with no regard to how the other person might feel. At the same time he doesn’t expect any less from the people around him. In lieu of his own need to sarcastically reply about every idiotic thing he believes people do, he also expects people to tell him when they believe he’s being an idiot himself. To him it’s only natural to point out idiocy. Another inconsistency about Kyle’s personality is that even with his seeming indifference with making his life more interesting people can often get him to try anything. From sky diving, to smoking, to even having people use him as a sparring dummy. No matter how absolutely horrifying, idiotic, or downright suicidal he finds it he’ll always give it a shot. In truth Kyle is incredibly unsatisfied with his life. He cares very little for it, and only goes along as to satisfy the people around him. Subconsciously he is always searching for something, or someone, to give his life some meaning. Now whether or not the meaning is something utterly ridiculous is another thing entirely. As long as he finds it interesting he has little problems in attempting to prolong his interaction with the said thing. Even if he has no ideas why he’s doing it.

[cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;] Kyle is a third generation Japanese-American. He’s a full-blooded Japanese person, but with how little he knows of his culture, on top of his rather dismal knowledge of his culture’s language, people would be hard pressed to believe that there wasn’t any dilution in the bloodline. The most he could do outside of English is understand a few common Japanese phrases, and butcher some French introductions that he vaguely remembers from his two years of French classes in high school.
[cs=3][atrb=style,width: 460px; text-align: center; padding-left: 20px; padding-right: 20px;] History
[cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;] Kyle was born into your typical American household. Very few, if any, influences of their culture remained, and people would be hard pressed to say that a Japanese family lived there. He was an only child, and both of his parents worked. His father was a physics professor at the local college, and his mother was a doctor who worked at one of the larger hospitals in the city. Both of his parents were rarely home thanks to the nature of their jobs, but he didn’t mind as they still did many things that he had seen other families around him do. He couldn’t ask for anymore in a family. As a child Kyle was very different from how he is now. He was very bright and friendly. The people that knew him expected great things from him, and in kind he would always meet those expectations. Like any happy child he loved his parents, and hoped that he would one day be just like them. In his eyes they were perfect, and that the family they had was special. To him they were unique. This motivated him greatly, and thus in everything he did he pushed himself to be the best. He would spend numerous hours studying, helping teachers, whatever he could to get ahead. Never once did he question his resolve until the last year of middle school before he entered high school. During this time he began to notice something. He began to notice that whenever any thoughts of the future were brought up, his friends all had the same copy and paste answer. They all wanted a nice home, a great paying job, and a family. Sure there were some differences here and there, like career choices, and how many kids they wanted, but all in all they were the same. At first he shrugged it off. In his mind of course people would want those things. They were easy to achieve, and they made people happy. Yet he couldn’t help feeling that those goals were empty. Hollow. In his mind this was what made his parents different. They wanted more. They had more. His family was different. Yet he couldn’t ignore that his family’s structure was very similar to those friends he had around him. As Kyle heard more from the people around him, and as he watched numerous families around exactly like his he began to question if his parents really were different. Every time he would shoot down the notion, and laugh before re-establishing that yes they were different. He would continue to do so until one day he could no longer keep deluding himself. Kyle had to make sure. He needed to make sure that his parents really were out of the norm. He desperately wanted them to confirm his views. So the summer before his freshman year he asked them what their goals were when they were his age. The answer that came from his mother and father would forever change his perceptions of the world around him. When they gave him the exact same answer that he had heard from his fellow peers, and heard how they had never thought of having any bigger ambitions, Kyle’s world crumbled. From that point on Kyle slowly lost his motivation to become more than those around him. It was small at first. Things such as volunteering in class, or assisting other people in class, he no longer did. Soon it began to escalate as Kyle cared less, and less about what went on around him. He would no longer do things for people unless asked, his school work, while still exceptional, was half-assed, and his personality took a nose dive in the opposite direction of what it was before. He became callous, and he would often give off sarcastic barbs towards people over the smallest things. It was as if the small happy child he was before all, but disappeared in the short span of a year. The only thing that was left recognizable was his face, and grades. Half way through his sophomore year a quirk soon began to appear. He began to attach himself to people with different personalities. Much like when he lost his motivation to stand out it started off small. He would hang out with people who liked different colors than the typical red or blue, and then suddenly talk to people who were social pariahs. No matter how he may have disagreed with the person, or dislike them, for some reason he couldn’t help attaching himself to them. Then from that he began to develop a complex where people could get him to do anything. From jumping off a roof into a pool to eating an entire jar of mayonnaise in a single sitting. He did it all with little complaint. Just as before both things escalated to insane heights as he began to subconsciously look for more unusual people to talk to, and more extreme things to do. If a person was unusual in any way he would latch onto them till they bored him. No matter how dangerous or insane this person might be. In lieu of that he was often caught up in many outrageous events. Things such as extreme sports, underground fighting circuits, and high stakes gambling. If he could get himself into it he would do it. However on the outside he never seemed rattled by anything he had done. In lieu of that rarely did one discover his odd quirk. In fact he would graduate from high school with most of his school friends, and parents never finding out about it at all. From there he went onto college where he subconsciously every day looks for the next thrill to entertain him.

[cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;] *Kyle took ten years of taekwondo lessons. One of the few things he continued to do after his little revelation. It was partially because it was early signs of his thrill seeking setting in, and partially because he really did enjoy it. *Something still left over from his childhood is his love of anime. Not that he would ever admit, but he’s hidden a very large stack of dvds in his closet, and when he thinks he’s alone he’ll watch them. *He’s also addicted to coffee. If he doesn’t have a cup in the morning, he’ll be incredibly irritated throughout the day. He also has to have a cup for all his meals too, or he finds it rather hard to eat his meals.
