Kei realizes that she was rather light hearted when she and Kyoko had first picked up Morris. She realized that raising children was a challenge but she hadn't really been sure what to expect. Because Kei was deemed the more mature figure, and especially since Kyoko broke her arm, Kei had been taking Morris a majority of the time. There were the good times. Morris was a joy and he really was such a nice, quiet boy. But like all children he was prone to temper tantrums at times and unsurprisingly Morris suffered from nightmares. Kei expected that much at least considering when and where they found him. Still, it was kind of cutting into her sleep and she was feeling a bit more tired than usual. So when Kyoko suggested taking Kei out for a night, she couldn't have been happier. A night out to relax sounded wonderful. Obviously Morris would still be with them, and Kyoko's arm was still broken, but to be able to relax sounded like the best thing in the world.
The plan for today was to see a movie and then dinner. Of course it would be a kids movie. The Lorax didn't really interest Kei very much but it seemed that Morris couldn't be more excited. He stared at the screen enraptured as the film played on. Kei took the chance to take a short nap. All in all, it wasn't a bad day. She got to see Kyo and they got to relax for a bit.
"So do you have plans for dinner?"

Two days after that stupid monster dug its tail into her shoulder and Kyoko was out moaning in pain, she decided by herself she was well enough (not particularly) to stop feeling sorry for herself and do something with her life. Not that she was really in proper condition to do something with her life in the first place (having an injury with her job was probably not a good thing, to be fair). But she was already growing quite restless, and kind of a bit out of the loop already. She'd read a fair time ago about a kid's movie, she couldn't remember what, but Kyoko decided it would be a good thing to get some fresh air, go out in public, spend some time with Keiko and Morris. A movie was perfect. More or less because it really didn't cause much physical strain on her shoulder, and she figured she owed it to Keiko, who had done so much for her already. So she pulled herself together enough to let Keiko unwind after, what, over two weeks of caring for Morris? Kyoko did, to some extent, feel like she was a burden to her partner sometimes. But as Keiko quietly slept away during the duration of the movie, Kyoko tried to turn his attention away from her and onto the movie (in which she got really into). There weren't too many people though, but that was more or less because it had been in theaters for quite a while. "That was a great movie, wasn't it Morris?" She smiled as he nodded enthusiastically. "And of course I have dinner planned! On me, too, my treat!" Kyoko had been planning this for a while. It was like a family night out, and it would serve to be fun for all three of them - granted, it was bad timing with that disastrous trip to the art show, but the only thing keeping her sane about it was that Keiko and Morris hadn't been there. Nothing terribly fancy, though. "Applebee's? TGI Friday? Chili's?" KEIKO TAKAHASHI |
