He squirmed with discomfort as his hands made contact with the rusty sides of the shaft and ladder, and the urge to climb out as fast as he could was stronger than ever. However, this small ambition was obstructed by the drunken lady who had gotten to the ladder first, and Canis was stuck climbing under her. He grumbled under his breath, his sass beginning to return to him once again. The situation was temporarily peaceful; there weren’t any killer spikes in the shaft so far. His bated breath was made apparent in the silent, claustrophobic area as he struggled to lift his body further. Sweat mixed with the rainwater in his hair as he climbed, and it ran down his forehead and cheeks as he got higher and higher.
Canis thought that he was making good progress until he felt something change. Fear boiled inside of him as he wondered what could go wrong next. At first, the change wasn’t apparent, and Canis found himself chastising himself for the false alarm, though he was feeling relieved. However, the relief was not to last as he felt his claustrophobic senses tingling. He panicked, and quickly ran one hand up the shaft as he continued to climb. Yes, there was no doubt about it. The shaft was beginning to close in on the three climbers. With this new discovery under his belt, he glanced upwards, urging the drunken woman to move faster. As soon as he thought this, the woman had reached the second floor elevator and was attempting to pry it open. Canis managed to get right under her, and waited impatiently for her to get it open. The elevator shaft closing in on the three of them wasn’t a very nice feeling. Canis’ eyes lit up as he remembered the body builder that had accompanied them into the building. He gingerly held onto the ladder with his left hand and leaned in to the middle of the shaft, peering downwards. Sure enough, the man was climbing the ladder as well, close behind Canis.
“I think the walls are closing in on us,” he warned the man below him before resuming his climb. By the time he’d warned the man, the drunken woman had already managed to open the elevator doors and had advanced to the second floor. A faint light was emitting from the open crack, and it lit up the shaft. Canis was able to see a bit more clearly now, and with a great heave, he forced himself into the second floor.
He was greeted by light, which was good. The bad news was that everything in the room had become about ten times larger than normal, and was growing at a frighteningly rapid rate. His panic mode switched on slightly later than usual, seeing as for a second he wasn’t surprised. Inky spikes aiming to kill people, and now large office supplies and furniture. It was totally normal.
Adrenaline running through his veins, he moved fast, not quite following Shera’s lead. He stuck to the wall to his right, and aimed to move for the door while alongside it as a ways of navigating through the maze of office junk. He jumped over a growing desk that was flipped over by the other growing objects, but tripped over a rolling chair, and was nearly buried alive by it. Flailing helplessly, he managed to somehow wiggle his way out of it before it got any heavier and continued with his trek through the office. Keeping to the wall, he carefully made his way through the room, skillfully navigating through the mess that was once an office. As he made it to the door that led to the staircase, which in turn led to the next floor, his progress was halted by an oversized desk that basically covered majority of the lower half of the door. Canis, whose height was now a disadvantage had no choice but to lift hoist himself up and crawl through the open space before he was crushed by a large drawer that was growing right beside him. Using the wall for balance, he grabbed onto the large cabinet drawer that was nearly crushing him and made his way onto the top of the growing desk. He hurled himself through the open space, which was a pretty stupid move, because as he landed on the ground, he had the wind knocked out of him. Choking for breath, he rolled around for a few seconds. “Ugh,” he moaned, clutching his sides in pain. He lacked the will to get up and move; half because he was in pain and the other half was because he was extremely tired.
Well, at least he had gotten out of the room.

In the elevator, Lucas was rather annoyed at being the last one to climb, but that was life, really. His hand was on the bar as he stood and watched the other two climb. He looked up as the boy made his trek, but froze as he heard that male voice once more. “Shit.” he swore under his breath and grabbed the ladder, following as close as he could behind the boy. The walls were getting smaller! He panicked, being the largest in the group meant he'd get stuck a lot easier.
When he finally reached the doorway to the second floor he already felt the walls pressing against his shoulders. He forced himself through, happy he starting focusing on useful muscle mass. It was slight, but he felt that it helped somehow with pulling himself out of the tight space. He backed away from the elevator watching it grow smaller and smaller. He was hoping for a respite, when that voice rung out again. He swore, this time a little more creatively, and cursed the voices mother, father, and it's goldfish. It sounded like a voice that had a goldfish.
Lucas started to make his way through the floor of growing objects. Dropping and jumping over and under various items. He leaped out of the way of a cactus that decided it wanted a hug. He rolled over an upturned waste bin, and dropped heavily. This was probably the best cardio work out he got since leaving Canada.
He saw the exit sing and ran towards it, pausing only when he saw the desk that blocked him. He hurried and jumped on top of it, and slid off the other side, glad he was out of the insanity. He looked down to his right and spotted the kid. He looked injured. Lucas nodded and picked the kid up. “It's going to be ok, Things are crazy, but the craziness ends at some point.” He said as he held the kid over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and ran up the stairs.

The air around Shera thickened, his heartbeat continued to beat faster as the effects of the alcohol started to rub off. Her past was bursting to release as fate continued to test his limits. The desk chairs continued to expand, the stairwell appeared to be safe from harm but it was the thickening air around him that had him concerned. Could it be another one of the bizarre spells? The other two civilians took no notice of the thickening air, both appearing to be busy. It was only as his past life seemed to spill over it's thresh hold to his new found ability start to kick in. Fog sprung from his body, although this was weird enough it appear that two versions of Shera were present. (SEE SHERA'S PROFILE) The fog seemed to make the air thick, as if time itself was stale. The Spirit Kingdom had claimed their first warrior. The entity that was linked to Shera smiled slightly before returning to it's slumber. Shera had a world to adapt to before he could begin to understand the past. This power was nothing compared to what he was capable of.

IDENTIFICATION | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
The entity was being called, it had laid dormant for a long while finally finding peace after years if war. It was a mix of the stress that the entity's current body was exhibiting but there was also some external force that called to the entity. It had been awoken, the entity had no other choice but to join with its current self. Although Los Angeles was foreign to the entity since the last time it had walked the earth the plains were filled with bloodshed and the kingdoms in the distance were sworn enemies. People's blood had stained rivers while children became orphans, lovers became widowers. Mankind was oblivious to the sacrifices that were made to stop the war. It was as the presence of fate mixed with the searing pain coming from the entity's current body did it realize that the bloodshed was going to happen once more. The little boy was in pain, the entity could feel once more. The closer it got to Canis the more it was starting to take on a human form, running down the streets of Los Angeles. At first just a simple wisp it was quickly starting to gain a human form. The Wright building came into view as the entity stood before the doors of the building, the inky substance preventing it from entering.
The entity slowly started to fade as Canis' life started to play throughout the entity's thoughts. Canis could probably feel the presence of the entity, it was dangerous to have two beings who were the same person so close together. It was in a heartbeat that the entity merged with Canis. One moment the entity had been standing before the double doors while the next minute the entity had vanished. Canis blinked slightly, feeling the presence of the entity merge with his body. As the entity had vanished the child could feel his chest grow heavy as the life span of the Cleric played through his mind in a heartbeat. No substantial memory stayed with Canis, the images flashing too quickly to actually retain anything. A couple images played out, although Canis was safe from harm these images seemed like they were ongoing around him. A spear sailing through the air only landing inches away from him, the scenery around him shifting not to the stairwell but to a vast field. Although he could feel an army standing behind him, dressed in armour like the medieval times but yet adorned with almost tribal markings. The raging battled between the two sides frightening as blood was spilt, a sword piercing through the armour of a soldier to his right, a javelin thrown only to impale an enemy soldier in the gut. Canis could see some users of magic of some kind. Although they wore less armour it was apparent it wasn't needed. One of the magic users easily manipulated about twenty litres of water, slicing through enemies, another magic user manipulating fire, scorching enemies while another manipulate the grass around a soldiers foot to be literally swallowed by the earth. Another soldier appeared to summon lightning from an outstretched hand while another soldier appeared to be glowing slightly before all the enemy soldiers around that soldiers collapsed. The memories continued to flip faster. The image of Canis by a street vendor buying some unknown fruit to pass it to a young girl. The girl smiled, her poverty obvious as her malnourishment screamed for help. Canis was next sitting by himself atop a large palace, apparently overseeing the lands. The rage of battle was almost constant. Abandoned weapons littered the field. This war was resurfacing, he could literally feel it. Next time these battles would be held it would be throughout Los Angeles.
Images started to play through Canis' mind, although it was obvious these ones were not memories but glimpses into the future. A woman with long blonde hair stared at Canis, the lighting clearly darker than normal. The woman stood with her hands by her sides as the tunnel she stood underneath was some kind of aquarium within Los Angeles. Her fists clenched as the glass smashed with a moments notice, the water pouring downward towards Canis, before the water collided with him he faced a red haired man. The man had his back to him as the stood facing hope hospital, fire licking at his body. A low gutteral sound was heard before a swift kick was aimed towards Canis, the searing flame that encased the foot was a surprise as Canis found himself looking at another woman before he had the chance to feel the burns the fire would have left. This woman had long brown hair, she faced him with a small smile on her face. They were in some kind of restaurant, the tables sprung to life before he could think of what was happening. Branches shooting out of the asian restaurant's tables, some stabbing at Canis while others prevented him from moving. The girl still smiled slightly as she slowly walked towards him, vines growing from her hands taking the shape of swords.
Canis' eyes sprung open, the past was going to repeat itself.

Lucas had some time to adjust to his power but it was nothing compared to his potential. The metal around the body builder trembled slightly as it could feel the entity within Lucas start to awaken his body. The boy had already been claimed, no one was ever suppose to realize their past lives but the stress around Lucas mixed with the place of power within the wright office was causing Lucas to realize who he was. The metal beams within the walls made to support the building literally started to tremble as his past exploded from his body like a dam breaking allowing the water to rush by. Metal beams sprung from the ground around him creating a perfect circle around him. The silver colour of the metal pulsating from the metallic colour to a soft green. The green colour quickly started to become blinding. White tendrils of light fluttered from the ceiling, like ribbons hanging from the sky they showed Lucas his reflection. Within a moments time the tendrils of light quickly started to fade to instead show Lucas a glimpse into his past.
The man stood on the battle field, his dark black hair glistening as the battle raged around him. A strong sense of control as the Cleric brought his hand towards an empty sheath. His withdrew a large metal sword which he quickly used to slash down his enemies, his grace rare as he seemed to dance among his enemies slashing down anyone who got in his way. His weapon seemed to shift as he swung, sometimes a broadsword, changing to a spiked club, spear, scythe and a mace. Effortlessly morphing between weapons. All the while he seemed to point a hand towards an enemy slightly, their armour constricting. Every so often the metal from another enemies weapon would slowly disintegrate only to become a floating mass of metal. Within a couple minutes the dark haired man released his weapon so it too joined the countless floating balls of metal. He smirked slightly as the dozens of meal orbs started to lash out at his enemies. swirling gracefully, just as he did when he fought with his weapons. The dark circles under the man's eyes clearly displayed the nights he stayed up, not being able to find sleep thanks to the bloodshed he caused. Lucas could see the faint spark in his eye, the determination that kept him going forward. Just as quickly as the light tendrils had appeared they quickly started to show Lucas' reflection once more. This time a small spark could be seen within his eyes.
The pulsating green rune sat on his left hip bone, just as the sheath had been placed on his past life. Lucas could feel the power within him churning, the metal poking through the floor finally returning to a normal colour. The power within Lucas would only grow, he could feel the earth around him, hear the earth begging for help as it was dying slowly thanks to humanity. The tides were starting to turn, Lucas could feel the memories starting to come to him, the knowledge that this link brought him was scary to say the least but the given situation urged him onwards.

| [atrb=vAlign, top] Something was wrong. Well to be more specific something was more wrong, because at the moment everything was rather fucked up in Shera’s life. She was running from some unknown enemy, hung over, disheveled, and running into very odd circumstances in her attempt to make her way up this condemned building. It wasn’t enough that she was wet from rain and urine, or enough that she had fled razor sharp black ooze, or even that she had nearly been crushed by giant office furniture. Now she was being surrounded by an odd misty haze.
Shera had given in to the panic. Her survival instincts had gotten her this far, but her emotions could no longer be contained. The Madame’s mind had reached its breaking point as her body reached the next landing of the stairs. She collapsed, wanting her legs to move forward but unable to do so. Her hands managed to catch her in her stumble/fall and she ended up in a hunched over position on the floor. The tears were running freely now and he breathing was rapid and shallow. She was going to die here, she knew it, she couldn’t keep up this pace, she couldn’t survive, she was doomed…doomed….doomed.
The fog around her became more and more prominent until Shera could see nothing through her tears and the strange haze. Then she felt a sort of rush pass through her and Shera found herself standing in the corner of the platform… looking at herself.
“I’m dead… I must be dead |
,” was the only thing Shera could think as she watched herself sobbing and hobbled over on the stair tile. She was watching herself, how could she do that if not dead. She’d seen movies about this, where you float above your body in a near death experience and watch yourself. But she wasn’t dead, was she dying, what was happening. She reached out and tried to touch her body and felt her hand slide over her body’s shoulder. It wasn’t as if her hand had passed through her, nor that she had actually touched herself, it was more like her hand met some sort of barrier and slide off, like her body was incased in some sort of invisible glass shielding. This made no sense, it made even less sense then all the shit that had happened previously that made no sense. She was losing it, clearly, and continued to freak out as much as the her that sat hobbled before herself. Then she felt something, or maybe remembered something. Emotions or thoughts… or memories tickled at the back of her mind. Shera was having some sort of recollection or epiphany, but she couldn’t exactly wrap her mind around it. She suddenly felt more connected to herself?... maybe? Whatever it was she couldn’t fully comprehend it but the moment helped her calm back down. She began to breathe more steadily and focus on the room around her. She could see herself crying and sobbing, which was weird, and then she could see the stairs that led to the landing below and those that led to the one ahead. Shera thought back to how many stairs she had already climbed and was certain she had gone far enough to reach a door, somehow the distance between floors must be extended in this weird maze she’d been forced to run through. Shera noticed that she could not hear the furniture on the second floor smashing through walls or coming through the ceiling, maybe that meant that each floors oddity was contained to said floor. She also noticed that she could hear those people below her now and was finally starting to register that she had come into the building with two other people, and possibly they were just behind her. Shera was calming down and thinking with a sort of clarity that normally seemed and felt beyond her. She didn’t know how to explain it but something within her was changing. It was a sort of enlightening experience mixed with a sensation that sent her skin crawling. Slowly the fog around her seemed to fade into nothingness and in an instant Shera was back in her own skin and could no longer see herself. She was still huddled over but she was no longer crying and her breathing was normal. Shera could not describe what had just happened but she felt more clearheaded than she had this morning. There was still a pounding from her hangover, her clothes were wet, and she did have a fear deep inside her stomach but she was no longer panicking wildly. She had to move though, so she got to her feet and went forward. [/div]

He was in excruciating pain, although he didn’t know why – after all, it wasn’t like there was anything major about him. He turned his head, moaning in the process, and took a look at his body. Canis tried to gasp at what he saw, but his eyes only widened in slight shock and a slight sigh escaped his mouth. He saw a very large, purple bruise that ran along his left arm. It… looked horrifying. The boy tried to move it, and he found that he was able to move it, albeit only a few inches or so. Oh, that along with the extreme pain that came with it. He grunted, and sighed again, before turning his head to face upwards. He was breathing heavily, and he wondered what other unspeakable horrors would turn up to make his already sorry life miserable. Perhaps monsters would start jumping through windows. They’d be the kind that you couldn’t kill permanently, the kind that would regenerate after you mutilate their bodies a million times. It was so cliché, but at the moment, it seemed like it might actually happen, considering that he’s already lived through black ooze of death, elevator shafts that seem to close in by themselves, and super-sized office utilities. He lived through all of that, but if there came a time where he would be forced to use his left arm, then he’d be finished. The young boy cringed at the thought.
Suddenly… the male felt a strange feeling. It was a hair-raising sensation, and it caused the hairs on the back of his neck to stand erect. Canis lay there, expecting something else to happen, an event that would finally finish him off. However, it wasn’t that. It was… something else. It was one of those feelings that were indescribable by words. He felt his stomach lurch, and then another tingling sensation, before he gasped. He clutched his heart with his right hand as he felt something merge with him. It was something invisible, something alien. His heart seemed to sink as he lay there, in pain, but strangely fascinated. Soon, though, the fascination turned to horror.
It was like watching a movie in the olden days, where they were made by switching from picture to picture at such a rapid rate, it seemed like there was a moving object on the screen. It was like that, except that it wasn’t a movie – it was a series of pictures that moved as fast as the frames in a Disney movie. It gave him a headache, and though he wasn’t able to completely register them in his brain, his body seemed to be reacting to it. The scenes that he saw were horrific, yet somewhat exciting.
The images seemed to be images of the past: beautiful vast plains that seemed to be so rare now, blood on the ground, and a fierce battle going on at the same time. Weapons clashed, some were sent flying, and most warriors cried in pain, sinking to their knees before falling flat on their face, dead. Canis also saw different types of people; the people who were not warriors clad in armour and metals, but seemed to be the most fearsome. Then Canis saw something that would have normally intrigued him.
They were magic users.
Well, perhaps it wasn’t proper to consider it magic: they were manipulating the elements of the earth: some people were using water to their advantage, others fire and some were even using the green of the grass to either suffocate, stab, or swallow their enemies. Lightning shot across the sky and onto the battlefield, effectively frying the warriors nearby, and a few of them even managed to use some sort of psychic power that caused damage to the opposing side in some way. Canis was both awed and horrified: two attributes that usually didn’t work well with him.
Then the scenes changed once again, and now they seemed to be about him. It wasn’t about Canis exactly, but it was about… a past life? Was it his past life? Maybe it had something to do with the odd feelings that he experienced mere moments before. Strangely, as he watched the scenes, he felt no pain. It was gone, just for a moment, just long enough for him to see another few scenes. There was a palace, people, a large army standing beside… someone. It wasn’t Canis. Or, it wasn’t the Canis of the present.
Suddenly, there were glimpses of images that were different from the previous ones – they seemed much more modern and 21st century. If he were conscious, he would’ve gasped at the revelation: he was looking into the future. Now they were about him, and the scenes he witnessed weren’t pleasant ones either. He saw a blonde woman standing before him in some sort of aquarium. Suddenly, the glass broke, and the water crashed down and was about to hit him, but thankfully, the scene changed. Now it was a man, in front of some sort of hospital. He wasn’t facing him, but was rather turned so that Canis could only see his back. He seemed to be burning, fire flickering on and off. The man turned around and aimed a fiery kick at him, much to his surprise. Before he was able to yelp in surprise, the scene switched yet again, and then… and then he saw a familiar face. It was too familiar.
Yes, he’d definitely met that woman before. It was only once, but he was certain about his assumption.
They were now placed inside a sort of restaurant setting, and the tables and chairs were in disarray. The young femme smiled softly, and the restaurant tables lashed out at him, heading in his direction.
This time, he did shout in surprise, his eyes flying open. Canis was apparently now slung over the body builder’s back, who was in the process of bounding up the staircase. He was speechless – what in the world did he see? He wasn’t able to completely accept it, but somewhere in his mind was telling him to believe it – or face dire consequences. There was only so much he was able to deny. He definitely knew that woman in his vision. He freaking knew her.

Lucas slowed his run as he felt strange, he shivered for a moment, before something felt like it was erupting from his body. Metal girders burst from the ground around him in a perfect circle. But he didn't feel at all worried, in fact he felt stronger then ever. As the silver of the metal turned to green, Lucas squinted. The light was growing far to bright, and the ribbons of light weren't helping much either. Like a hallucination, images filled his mind.
Images of a strong handsome warrior, fighting in battle. His weapon was ever shifting, always something new. Was it magical? No... it seemed more like the young warrior was the one changing the weapons shape. Lucas watched as more and more metal was added to the man's arsenal. Orbs flowed and moved, lashing out at foes. Suits of armour crushed the beings they used to protect. The bodybuilder felt his heart race. He looked at the man's face, and his eyes. He seemed exhausted.... and tired. Not so much physically but mentally. Lucas notted the spark in his eyes, and nodded slowly to himself. Determination.
Like all those times his father said he wouldn't amount to anything in the world. He proved the man wrong. So many times. Each competition he won was another point that proved the old drunk wrong. Lucas blinked as the tendrils once again showed his own reflection before they slowly faded away. The metal turned back to silver. Lucas took a deep breath and took in what he felt. He had felt pain when he was in the hospital, but it was nothing compared to what the earth felt. He wanted nothing more then to hug the earth, and help it feel better and ease it's pain. But he knew that would work.
“We have to keep moving. If we don;t we will die.” He said calmly as he continued to climb the stairs.

She could feel the building pulsating with the energy from the coward who chose to torture these innocent souls. Atropos could care less about the souls, she was more insulted that the jack ass thought he was somehow torturing her by torturing innocent people. She scowled, her opponent clearly didn't understand what she was capable of. She slowly slid her hand across the cement building, the building itself shaking with her power. She could feel every ridge in the cement, the pouring rain trickling down her pale skin in torrents. She smiled as the cement literally started to crumble to her very touch only to be washed away by the rain. Atropos was unfazed by the weather, she would not pity herself already. She had only been on earth for an hour at the most. She had already shown her moment of weakness, never again would she show such frustration. She would never again show how vulnerable she could be, her bloodlist could be controlled. The cement crumbled away from her touch until she looked onto the floor before her. She beat her wings once more before soaring into the building's cramped space. The furniture still continued to grow but Atropos slowly walked forward, her wet hair clinging to her body as her soaking feathers twitched with anticipation. The spell that manipulated the furniture recoiled whenever they were in her path towards the staircase. The furniture carved a path where she could easily walk forward so she wouldn't be interrupted by office furniture.
Atropos smiled as she looked upon her three heroes. They paled to her expectations but she stood before them none the less. She gave them a small bow of her head to display her respect. She had taken their futures from them, their deaths were no longer written in stone. Any one of them could die at any moment and she would be unaware. She frowned, she had ripped the life out from under them and they were completely oblivious. Before starting to walk forward toward the staircase where the three of them were situated. She walked past all three of them before pausing slightly, her eyes darkening as she sensed her opponents eyes prying. So the asshole who made her tweak the fates of these mortals wasn't done with his games.
Atropos turned on her heel to face the closest mortal to her. It was the man who looked like a woman. It would do. Her mouth curled into a snarl as she released an ungodly growl. She could taste the fear rolling of the mortal, the ecstasy ran through her body as she prepared herself. She required the mortals power, she could sense the power that the mortal possessed, the illusions he could produce was too untrained to be of use to her. Her right arm shot out to grasp his neck, the smell of intoxication could still be smelt but Atropos didn't care at this point. She licked her teeth slightly, her hand grasping the mortals throat and slamming his head against the wall. A cracking sound was produced but Atropos simply stared into the mortals eyes, she wanted to watch as the life escaped from his body. Atropos could feel the heartbeat quicken, the attempt to gasp for breath or plead for his life. She smirked, his attempts fell upon deaf ears. She squeezed tighter, his eyes frantically darting anywhere searching for help. The blood vessels in his eyes popped, the red flecks starting to appear just under his iris. He thrashed for his life but Atropos simply watched him squirm for freedom. It was as his body was starting to go limp that she twisted her arm. The large snap was unmistakable, his body slumped against the wall that he was pinned to. Atropos frowned, the man's eye's stared vacantly into Atropos'. The satisfaction of killing him was not the thrill she had wanted but it was mandatory. The power of illusion was too dangerous to be left in the hands of a mortal who could not even decide his gender let alone be forced into an eon long war in which he would have to pick a side.
Atropos released her grasp from his neck, the dark bruises her hands had left made Atropos even less satisfied. The death of a weakling was nothing compared to a battle that she had earned someone else's death. The pussy hadn't even fought back. Atropos turned on her heel to the other two. "I suggest you learn to control your powers faster than him, if I don't kill you, you will probably kill yourself." With that Atropos started to walk up the stairs. She hadn't counted how many floors there were but she hoped they would reach the roof soon, she had a hunch that the coward would show himself if they made it that far. Atropos didn't mean to be the bitch she was, but she couldn't allow mortals who had zero control of their powers run around Los Angeles and allow people not involved in the war get stuck in the crossfire. It had felt nice to kill the mortal but she needed the other two mortals, hopefully they wouldn't lose themselves like the man had. She wondered what the next floor contained.

MAGICIAN | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
The magician sneered slightly, he had not expected the group to make it as far as they had. For starters he had felt the power of the fates resonate across the building, the two magics competing for dominance. He had not been informed of the sheer power that his opponent had at her disposal. He frowned as his power crumbled under the immense power of one of the three fates, her comrades in battle started to emit power signatures that were not there moments ago. The effects of his last spell still clung to the floor he had enchanted, the furniture continuing to grow. He was glad the angel did not know of his location as of yet, it would take minimal amount of effort to destroy him as he did not have a fraction of the power she did. He swallowed hard, the stress starting to get to him. He lifted a hand to wipe away the sweat that was dripping down his forehead. He shut his eyes tightly to let the magic flow through him once more, he would not get a second chance. His eyes scanned the angel using his scrying abilities, she seemed powerful but her bloodlust moments ago had shown how vulnerable she could be. He simply needed to bring out that irrational beast that hid underneath her soaked form.
The angel looked directly at him, he jumped slightly as he was astounded by her sheer power, being able to sense his presence was rare and required a vast amount of power. He could not let himself be carried away by her power, she was the enemy. Atropos quickly turned to destroy the guy dressed in drag, apparently his power too uncontrollable to be trusted. He paused momentarily before reconsidering his options. He could still run and probably get away and his master would forgive him possibly. His eyebrows furrowed, he would not get the second chance he wanted. He knew he had been trained for this exact moment but found himself unable to do anything but observe the building he was destroying. "fluctus" The voice boomed throughout the staircase, he couldn't hesitate, the next floor would have to kill them, he was running out of floors to manipulate.
The water started to rush down the stairs in torrents, the source of the water was unknown to the group so far. It appeared to be rushing down some unseen waterfall as it was crashing down on the poorly tiled floor that the staircase led to. The waterfall blocked the staircase to the next floor, it would only take a running start to pass through it but the magician was starting to run out of energy as well as creativity. He knew he had a plan but the stress was starting to influence him in ways he couldn't have predicted. His desk job at the local apple store had not prepared him with the proper knowledge of algorithms to have calculated exactly the chances that this situation would have arisen. He needed more magic to perform the task before him. He stood up, he would make it more challenging if he must. They had to die. He cleared his throat.
"claudo"
The steps the group were currently standing on started to rise at an alarming pace. Within the minute the whole staircase they stood on would simply be another wall. The water that rushed by their feet would be trapped in the next floor. At the rate the water poured from the next staircase it was probable that the water would probably be around their waists within the next five minutes. He was glad the next staircase was a bit farther away than normal, by the time they reached the next staircase they would be completely submerged in water. It would not be surprising if one of them died before reaching the fresh air that waited in the next staircase. He smiled bitterly. His creativity was coming back to him even though his power was not increasing as he would have liked. His training before this would come in handy, his master had prepared him for this job even if we was starting to feel unprepared.

The body builder obliged, using his strong arms to allow Canis back on his own two feet. As his battered shoes connected with the shaky ground beneath him, he knew at once that something in his body had magically transformed. They were enhanced, to a degree. He looked around, verifying his deduction; his sight seemed much better than it had before. He was noticing vague details that he’d never really stopped to actually stare at before – his enhanced sight homed in on a stray, ugly-looking crack in the wall. He realized that it wasn’t just his sight that had increased. As he scoured the area, he smelled the musty air of the old, destroyed building – it was almost like he could smell the fallen debris. The young, naïve boy was officially a freak, or at least, that was how he was beginning to classify himself as. If there was anything out there that could turn you into a freak, it was a freaky situation that you had absolutely nothing to do with. In a way, it was incredibly unfair, having his life endangered randomly, but then again, it happened every day, to people who he’d never known. It was just freaky to know that you yourself had become a part of that freaky part of the world. It was unbelievable.
However, there was only so much that he was able to deny. All of the worldly logic that had been pounded into his brain was quickly forgotten, ever since he was attacked by some sort of mutant, inky spike. That was nowhere in his textbooks, but it’d happened anyway. It wasn’t normal, yet it still existed. If this kept going on, Canis would soon begin to believe in faeries and Santa Claus.
As he pondered the reason for his existence, his newly enhanced peripheral vision caught sight of an animate object. Canis quickly whirled around, facing the alienated object’s direction. However, it wasn’t an object. It was another human being. Actually, no, scratch that – it was some sort of alien that could fly. It was the very same alien woman that sprouted wings and flew off, abandoning the three while they were still outside just a few minutes prior. She exuded celestial authority. That was something that Canis didn’t like. Inside of him, anger and fear mixed together and boiled in a pot of emotions. It was all her fault. It was her fault that he was experiencing this living hell at the moment. Canis’ hands balled up into fists, the skin stretching over his small knuckles turning white. He ground his teeth together and crouched slightly, as if he were expecting the woman to launch some sort of alien attack at them.
The woman had the audacity to smile at them! This failed to accomplish anything, if she were even trying to get at a comforting gesture, because it only incurred more wrath and fury inside Canis’ body, though he did a good job at not allowing it to show on the exterior. On the exterior, he’d only look like he was getting ready for whatever the woman was going to throw at them. On the exterior, he tried to look brave. He prayed to any deity that would listen that she didn’t detect his childish trembling, or that his stiff posture was because he was paralyzed in fear. He didn’t want to show her any sort of weakness, any vulnerability, in fear that she’d somehow exploit it and use it against him. This, however, he had a lot of trouble hiding. The woman proceeded to increase his paranoia by smashing the lady’s head into the wall beside her.
His jaw unhinged, his posture relaxing, as he witnessed the gruesome scene unfolding before him. He watched as the lady struggled for air, attempting to escape, a few coughs and gags escaping slightly parted lips. He struggled to keep himself from gagging, and when the alien woman finally broke her neck, Canis couldn’t help but wince in pain, suddenly learning how to pity. It was horrible.
The woman spoke a few curt words of advice before walking up the stairs. What was that about powers? Was that what Canis was feeling at the moment? Was that the reason his feelings felt so… enhanced? Was he somehow generating freak, mutant abilities? Oh, man, that was every child’s dream. Well, every normal child’s dream. To Canis, it was another burden that he would be forced to live with.
Suddenly, a torrent of water crashed down, and rapidly ran down the steps. It approached his feet at an alarming rate, and Canis was suddenly paralyzed again. He was afraid that the moment he made contact with the water, he’d be washed away and would re-experience the feeling of tumbling down the stairs, except this time, he’d be drowning at the same time. However, when he did make contact, he felt… less resistance. Yes, the resistance was still there, but he felt that he was faring better than if he’d been in the exact same situation while just getting out of bed. Oh, wait, he forgot, he was developing alien powers. It was easy to forget in such a life threatening situation.
Canis had barely begun to move when another strange, deadly event occurred: he felt himself rising. When he looked down, he realized that they were slowly moving upwards. No, the steps were. He looked back up at the ceiling. Yes, in a few seconds, they were going to be crushed in between the stairs and the ceiling above. So, now it was like Fate was giving him an option: either he tumbles down the stairs and drowns, or he stays on the stairs and gets crushed. Both options weren’t too appeasing.
He glanced back at the body builder, but then focused his attention at the large wall of water at the top of the stairs. He decided then: he was going to run through. Canis moved to the side, gripping the steel railings with a hand that was in the middle of having major muscle spasms. It was still dry, but it was also incredibly cold – it almost hurt to hold it. He stopped, which was dumb, and took one deep breath. He then proceeded to push himself upwards using the rail, making progress faster than he’d expected. Well, he had mutant superpowers to thank for that.
As he reached the last step anti-climatically, he looked back to check on the body builder’s progress, before using the railing one more time to jump through the waterfall – anti-climatically.

Lucas happily complied with the kid's request to be out down, still dazed by the experience, and not used to the feelings in his body. He had barely any time to experience these feelings first when they were weaker, but now they washed over him in full force. He let out a slow breath as he tried to adjust to it, like he had so many times before when adjusting to the pain in a long work out, or getting over his stage fright. He flexed his hands slowly, feeling the strength within them, strength he was not used to.
He'd be lying if he said he didn't enjoy it.
There were side effects he'd rather do without, however. The cries of the earth were heart wrenching, and Lucas had no idea what he could do to aid the earth, and no time right now to try. The sound of wings brought him back to reality.
He looked behind him, to the door to the floor of growing items and there stood that girl. The angel. She smiled at them, but Lucas couldn't tell if she was really pleased at what she saw. He figured every competition had a judge, so perhaps she plays that role? Was it her he had to impress? Lucas tried to think it over for a moment, but his brain wasn't up for thinking. It would rather be counting reps, or something to that effect. She bowed, and Lucas nodded politely back, biting his lower lap. He still had no idea what he was doing, other then heading to the roof.
He stood aside for the angel to walk past him, watching her pause ever so slightly. He was really unnerved by her, but never really minded her presence. The bodybuilder watched as he suddenly struck he hand out and picked up the drunk lady like she was nothing. He watched in restrained horror as the blond haired girl slowly squeezed the life out of the lady. He winched as shera was slammed into the wall, and struggled. Lucas never appreciated death, even though it was a natural occurrence in war. Wait... what war?!
He heard the loud snap and shut his eyes fully for a moment, and looked back at the Angel and the lifeless body that slumped before her. She spoke, but Lucas barely registered it. He looked slowly from the body to the angel, then onto the kid. Poor guy didn't need to see this at such a young age, Lucas thought. Honestly, what was he doing out so late. And why could he hear rushing water?
The lunk head snapped out of his thoughts again and stared at the water. It wasn't supposed to be here. “I think someone broke the plumbing.” He said, scratching his head a little. Everyone else seemed to busy to bother replying. Lucas shrugged and started to climb the stairs. He picked up the pace as he felt himself rising, fairly certain that this was another way to kill him. He wanted to puch the person responsible for this, badly. He was just hoping to look around the building no dashing up flooding staircases and diving dramatically though waterfalls, and tumbling out of it. He rose to his feet and braced himself, both body and mind for the next challenge.
The judge was probably watching.

ATROPOS . Atropos stepped forward and using her power, broke through the stairs that blocked her way to the magician. Once on the floor with the magician, she stepped toward the magician ready to attack. This had gone on for far too long and if she allowed this magician to continue, it would spell trouble for the two humans present. She would have to defeat the magician before the water filled up the room. Readying herself into position, the angel took less than a second to prepare before launching herself at the magician.
ROOM . The water was rushing into the room at a rapid pace. Soon, the entire room would be filled with water. And yet in a moment, it was gone. The water, the strange floors leading up to god knows what; it all disappeared in a moment leaving the two humans as the survivors of the strange incident. One could only guess what had happened with the angel and the man on the top floor. The two survivors were free to go.
