Union Station
The Los Angeles Union Station opened in May of 1939 in order to replace the older La Grande and Central Stations. It was designed by the Parkinsons who are known for also designing other landmarks around the city. Today it is a major transportation hub in Los Angeles and serves over 60,000 passengers a day. The station has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1980 as one of the "Last Great Railway Stations" in the United States.
