tagged: leon. date: may 1st, just before noon.notes: rp swap. Leon was so short. Alright, not horribly short--he was like five five, but compared to Moose he was a freaking midget. To Moose, he was this tiny short little kid, and while he probably should have thought of him as an adult... well, Leon hadn't quite proved himself on that just yet.
Especially considering he was going on his freaking tiptoes to try and see over the line. That wasn't exactly the most mature of things, but considering that Moose didn't even remember being as short as Leon, he couldn't even say if he'd ever done it.
"I could lift you, but there's really no point. Not much to see really. You can see everything from down there, but the line seems to be moving well. We'll be in the next round or the one after." Which was ten minutes tops from what he could see.
As for riding... "Yeah, I can ride. They look big enough for me to fit." Although he'd probably have to shift his legs to keep them from pressing into the post in the middle. The line wound around the side of the ride and gave him a good view of the current riders.
Reaching the front of the line didn't take long at all--maybe five minutes tops, and he let himself relax as they approached. Things were going... well, they were going good. Nothing had fallen apart. No one had picked up Leon and tried to carry him off. Hell, Leon was going to pay for a nice meal for him, and god help him, he might actually have fun.
Having fun was a want, not a need. It was a rare thing that almost never happened, but when it did, he wanted to savor it. A whole day. A whole day where he didn't have to worry about where his next meal was coming from, where he could just enjoy.
Plus, he might actually get more work out of it, especially if Leon said he was good at it.
Reaching the front of the line, Moose moved over to one of the cups, keeping Leon in sight at all times as he slid in. Alright, not the most comfortable, but the damn thing was built for four, and it could handle him.

The line was moving, and fairly quickly at that. Only for Leon, it was still too slow. Perhaps if he had shown a little patience this would have been a better experience for him, but the line. Goodness, how could a line possibly be this slow. He moaned in his head, hoping to hide his displeasure but obviously failing. Let's face it - Leon really hated waiting. He had probably waited some ten times in his life, tops. Well, no. There were a bunch of times that he waited for something, but that was usually filled in with lovely chatter that he liked to call his voice. His voice that was, ultimately, complaining about how long he was waiting.
Of course, he didn't want to ward off his new friend. So what he did instead was kept it to himself and tried his best to patiently wait. Which was still looking around despite the fact that he was really, really close to the end of the line, and therefore, the end of his torturous wait. But honestly, how long did he actually wait? Ten minutes? Twenty at most? Some rides had lines that were much longer. Leon probably couldn't even handle any waiting for much longer, to be honest.
And thus, they finally arrived in the front, waiting for their turn on the teacups. The impatience turned into excitement as he drew closer and then finally. Finally. They were on the teacups. The ride hadn't even started and Leon was feeling the happiness. The ride ended and Leon couldn't stop feeling the happiness. And, well, some of the dizziness too. Moose was with him, so if he felt dizzy at least he would have someone to feel dizzy with? Providing that Moose also felt dizzy, but who knew?
And so he found himself skipping around again, looking for something to do once the ride was over and done with. "Yay! That was fun! Wasn't it?" But what was next, what could be done now? "Let's do more things okay!?" And then he proceeded to look around and get himself lost in the process. Well, until he found a passageway leading to a door. A door that he was compelled to open. And then proceed to get locked in. Goodness, of all things. "Moose.... I think I got stuck."

tagged: leon. date: may 1st, just before noon.notes: rp swap. Less then thirty seconds in and Moose was getting the distinct impression that Leon was not having fun. It was immediately obvious in everything he did. He was, for lack of a better word, squirming. Children squirmed. Moose had never, as far as he was concerned, squirmed in his life. While people liked to joke that they'd been 'born adults', Moose effectively had--he remembered nothing of his childhood and was entirely unaffected by it.
Really, he was half tempted to tell Leon to settle down, and Leon wasn't even doing anything. Just being obviously anxious on what was a very, very small line. He supposed that he probably shouldn't blame Leon, because while Leon was probably twenty or so, he seemed to have the mentality of a kid. A very, very hyperactive kid.
At least the teacups didn't last too long. They didn't make him dizzy, but it did make his head throb. Probably not the best plan to do in the future. No, he'd just outright avoid spinny things in the future. He let himself lean against a wall for a minute, reaching up to rub at his temple for a moment. Nope, absolutely no spinning in the future.
The moment passed though, and he cracked his eyes open, faintly wondering why the hell Leon had gotten so quiet--and realized that Leon hadn't gone quiet. He simply wasn't there. There was a few seconds of pure panic as he looked around, and it was only when he spotted Leon in the distance that he felt any relief at all.
He was off like a shot, weaving through the crowd. At the very least he was good at that--his size gave him a considerable advantage as he moved along. Simply put, people got the hell out of his way when he moved through.
Leon had vanished out of sight into what was a goddamn staff only area, and Moose was not having it. He went right in after them, not giving a single damn about the castmember who called after him when he did. Now where was--
And there was his voice, coming from god knows where. A quick glance around gave him only one obvious door, and he moved over, pounding on it with his fist.
"Leon?" Good god, how had he managed to get stuck?

Leon was stupid. Really stupid. He was also stupid scared. It was dark in this closet like thing, and he wondered just what compelled him to walk into this door. There was a sign that said 'Staff Only' just before, and he had just waltzed in. Well, no one had stopped him after that point. Maybe some people had attempted to, but he had just simply ignored them. Great planning on his part too, now he was in the dark feeling his way around the tiny room. He felt along the walls for maybe a light switch, but he honestly hadn't been paying attention to the door closing and where exactly he faced (he had turned around quite a lot in his initial panic).
Leon felt around for a door. Maybe he wasn't trapped in here, maybe the door had just closed and he needed to open it by turning the doorknob. A few turns and he felt like a maniac, feeling the walls in a crazy attempt to find the doorknob. Then he realized - there was light coming from the bottom towards his left, that had to be the crack that signaled the location of the door. Once he did manage to locate it, it was of no avail. He really did get locked in. Why in the world did people make closets like this but not install a way to unlock the closet from the inside? Poor planning on their part. Poor planning that got him stuck in here.
He jumped a little when he heard the pounding on the door. Thank god, it was Moose. "Moose!" He was going to be saved! That was great! "Of course it's Leon, and... It's dark in here." Even he could hear the sulking in his voice. "So get me out quick, okay?" He really, really should have read and listened to the signs. Leon tried to get his eyes to adjust to the darkness. From what he could see... the closet was for storing things, or something of the like. Still, he wanted to get out. He could investigate the items of the closet when he was safety able to make it out of this little space and there was more light. Or maybe the light switch just decided to be extra tricky and not reveal itself to him, which was a dick move on its part, according to Leon.

tagged: leon. date: may 1st, just before noon.notes: rp swap. God damnit. Prison didn't exactly give you a whole lot of useful life skills, but it did give you an impeccable selection of curses. Mentally, Moose was cursing until he went blue in the face, but at the very least he had the good sense to keep his verbal swears to a minimum, especially in a place with so many kids.
Not that there were any kids in the backstage area. No, he was more or less alone except for a cast member who was practically running towards him. It was obvious enough (at least to Moose--apparently not to Leon--that he wasn't supposed to be back there, but there was no way anyone was going to 'escort him out' with his ward still in the damn closet.
So, in tones that were fairly hushed although becoming increasingly loud as the conversation went on, Moose sent the poor castmember packing to get the janitorial staff who had keys for this particular cast member. It was fairly obvious he didn't want to leave Moose there, but Moose simply stood his ground and let his size do the talking.
A few moments later, he gave the door another pound, resisting the urge to just kick it in, considering that Leon was probably just on the other side.
"Just give me a minute, the staff'll get you out."

Despite assurances from Moose, Leon was still currently in the freak out and not think rationally about this phase. He was sure he would be getting out sometime soon, but of course, he was still in panic. Each second that ticked by was a second too long. Yes, he was impatient, he knew that. The dark was uncomfortable and not happy, and he wanted out.
If he were strong he could break down the door but he wasn't, and even when he was hitting the door, it wouldn't budge at all. Or shake. Even the well placed (well, what he thought was well placed) punch did nothing but make his fist really hurt. His poor, beautiful hand. He was never doing that again. He was also probably never going to go into unauthorized parts of Disneyland and open suspicious looking doors. At least, not this trip.
"Staaaaaffff, hurryyy upppp." No amount of anything really sped them up at this rate. Not in his perspective - if he had any, seeing as he couldn't see and didn't bother to pay attention to what was happening out there as compared to in here. "Does this closet even have a light switch?" Surely a defect in the planning, but an unfortunate and absolutely infuriating one. What happened if someone else got trapped in the closet too? He couldn't be the first one... right? He couldn't be that stupid. No, that was preposterous.

tagged: leon. date: may 1st, just before noon.notes: rp swap. Moose was intimately acquainted with the sound of human body parts hitting things, whether they be hitting other human body parts, wood, metal, or what have you. He knew the sound of body parts hitting things, and he scowled when he heard it form inside. He pressed up against it, yelling through the thick door.
"Leon, did you just punch the goddamn door?" Alright, probably not the best plan to lose his temper, but by god, he'd gotten himself locked in a closet. How did you even do that? "Don't punch anything damnit. If anyone was going to take down the door, it'd be me, and I'm not 'cause it'd probably hit you, alright? Just sit tight and they'll be back in a moment." He was practically growling as he said it, arms crossing tight over his chest.
He must have looked damned intimidating, because when the backstage manager rounded the corner, he seemed to straighten up a bit, doubling his pace. He scurried right over to the door, fumbling with the keys before finally pulling it open. Moose went into action in no time at all, stepping in and putting his hand on Leon's shoulder, steering him out of the closet.
He knew trouble when he saw it. They weren't supposed to be back there, Leon had caused trouble, and he wasn't staying. He was getting out of there as fast as possible before someone could make an issue for it, and he was hoping that Leon was going to keep his mouth shut.
"Sorry for the trouble. He just got lost, but we'll be going now." He wasn't even planning to give them a chance to respond--opting to simply steer Leon out as fast as possible, leaving the manager and the poor castmember in the dust.

Leon's hand still hurt. And while the temporary criticism he was giving himself on his stupidity and lack of common sense had distracted him a little bit, he resolved that his hand was really delicate and he should treat it with more care. And Moose was right - he really shouldn't have tried punching the door because it didn't help in the slightest. "Oh, sorry. Hahaha..ha...ha" But still. He really. Really. Really didn't like being stuck in this closet. "Okay..." Waiting patiently had never been so hard. It had always been one of the more difficult tasks for Leon, but this was even worse. Maybe because he couldn't see anything at all.
And then a burst of light! Leon hadn't known he would be so happy about seeing the light of day so much, he nearly jumped out of the closet in joy! And the new light source revealed that the closet housed various miscellaneous... things. He didn't really get a good look when Moose just steered him away. Much as he did want to protest he sensed it was probably a bad idea to do as such.
Much as he did want to argue, he kept his mouth shut because Moose was right. So he grumbled inside his head and then followed/got dragged by Moose out of their sight and into the crowd. He turned to the bigger guy once they were in the clear. "Well that was fun, wasn't it?" Well, probably not. Being trapped in a dark, enclosed space was not fun. Worrying over a client that was supposed to be protected probably wasn't fun either.
"We've done a lot of things for me already, do you wanna do something you want to? Or maybe we can eat! That sounds like a good idea, actually, I haven't thought about it..." What time was it? Probably around lunchtime. There would probably be lines, though... Oh well, whatever Moose wanted was fine with Leon.

tagged: leon. date: may 1st, just before noon.notes: rp swap. Fun? No, that was definitely not fun, and while Moose was supposed to treat Leon nicely, that didn't extent to lying to him in his mind. After all, he wasn't much of a liar--when he tried to lie he did so badly, and he rarely tried to lie at all. There simply wasn't need for it. He preferred being almost entirely honest unless shit was important, and this was absolutely not important in his mind.
"Nope, not really. Could have gotten us arrested for trespassing." Which would probably have zero effect on Leon, while having a ridiculous affect on Moose. Any sort of trouble he got in would come down on him hard. If Disneyland wanted to press charges for him trespassing, it was very likely he could end up back in jail on parole violations.
So to say the least, he was taking things far more seriously then Leon was, guiding him as far away from the door as possible.
His mood was considerably soured until Leon mentioned food. Food was good. Moose wasn't particularly hungry at the moment--not any more then usual--but he was always open to a meal. He was always some level of hungry, and he gave a little nod.
"There's food over there." Or he was guessing it was food, because there was what looked like a restaurant with tables outside not far from where they were.

Moose was right, to some degree, Leon had to admit it. Trespassing - well, hopefully they had blended well into the crowd, or at least enough to resolve that chasing the two of them wasn't worth it. His bodyguard's huge frame was easily distinguishable from most of the other visitors. But surely it was Disneyland and they had other things to worry about. It wasn't like they stole anything, or did anything wrong except be where they weren't supposed to be. Sure they caused a bit of a, ah, disturbance, but nothing that wasn't too bad, right?
The coast seemed clear for the time being, anyways, seeing as he had been steered quite a ways away thanks to Moose, and it didn't seem as though they had really posted much of a threat in the first place (not counting Moose's appearance), so Leon continued to go on being perfectly happy and content with being in the happiest place on earth. And since he sort of maybe skipped lunch to go here, Leon's stomach growled a little (the enthusiasm of being in Disneyland had sort of faded away and was replaced by hunger), and he happily strolled over towards the restaurant type place Moose pointed towards.
"Okay, order anything you want! My treat, to apologize for getting stuck in a closet." And dragging him into it too, and potentially getting him into trouble. Leon didn't want trouble, and he doubted that his bodyguard would, either. Trouble was just bad (even if it was fun in some cases).
He wasn't sure what restaurant they ducked into, or what it was really, or what they served. The shorter man looked around for a menu of sorts. Honestly, he didn't mind eating whatever, so long as Moose was alright with it. Since this was sort of kind of an apology. "Hmm... that looks good! That too. But, seriously, what would you like?"

tagged: leon. date: may 1st, just before noon.notes: rp swap. It was pretty damn safe to say that Moose didn't 'blend into the crowd'. Leon might have, considering the gaggles of Japanese tourists, but Moose was one of, if not the most distinct person in all of Disneyland. All he could hope was that the staff realized it was an accident, and opted not to try and hunt him down. If they did, they'd almost certainly find him.
The farther they got from the back area, the more relaxed Moose seemed to get, the tension easing out of his shoulders over time. They were safe. They'd have found them already if they were looking, and it would probably go unremarked upon. That was good, because Moose needed the work, and getting arrested, even if they didn't press charges, would mean he'd totally be out of a job.
When they finally entered the restaurant, he felt particularly out of place, even if he was horribly, horribly hungry. He squinted at the menu, not even knowing half the words on it, before deciding to just look at the food itself. He grabbed a tray, scooting into the line and managing to crowd everyone out. He'd keep Leon behind him as he stared down at the food, realizing the flaw in his plan.
He didn't even know what half of it was, but by god it probably tasted better then prison food. He glanced between it before peeking up at the serving lady, looking a tiny bit bashful. "I think... just... give me what's good? A big meal." Because 'big meal' pretty much went without saying, and then he scooted down the line as they gave him his food.
By the time they reached the cash, Moose had some variety of meatloaf, potatoes and veggies on his plate, as well as a particularly large drink. He'd skipped over desert, looking at it dubiously, but was strongly considering seconds. He was never sure when a meal would come by, and he was going to eat his fill if it was on someone elses tab.
The price made him wince just the same, and it wouldn't be hard to guess he thought it was well out of his budget.

Leon honestly just nodded and nodded and went with whatever was happening at the moment. He was just happy he was having a friend who was hanging out with him (even though he was getting paid to do so), and was eating the food that he was buying. Though, Moose was getting a lot of food, and he was getting a little worried. What if he got a stomachache? No, that wouldn't do! That meant the trip would get cut short! And Leon was also a little worried over what he got which was probably ten times smaller than Moose's portion.
Oh well, Leon made up for it by getting all the dessert he could get. Because sweets were amazing. There was one thing to not worry about, on the bright side, was that at least his bodyguard wouldn't starve to death, or be hungry for a while. Or Leon assumed. He looked at the price almost fleetingly. It meant next to nothing to him, honestly just auction off a few pictures of his brother or maybe even of Eric to the fans and the money would be earned back, surely. The things fans did, really.
"Eat up, okay?"

tagged: character. date: date and time.notes: notes. It almost went without saying that Moose was not going to get stomachache. Moose could have eaten double what he'd gotten and been perfectly fine. The fact that he had only eaten four or five times for the entire week previous had made him good and hungry, and he would have no trouble finishing everything he had. He was eyeing all the deserts that Leon had picked out, and he decided to withhold judgement until they were seated. He guided the boy out to the outdoor seating area, grabbing an empty table and taking a seat. The chair was too small for him, but he still managed to fit, even if it wasn't the most comfortable. Once he was seated, he wasted no time in grabbing a fork, spearing a chunk of the meatloaf and devouring it.
Moose did not have particularly good table manners, to say the least.
With the first bite taken, he jabbed his fork in the air at Leon, letting out a little 'hmph'. "Am I going to get in trouble because you're just eating treats?" Because if he was, then Leon was not getting any treats for dinner. Keeping an eye on Leon meant keeping an eye on everything, and if he got drunk (or drowned himself in candy), it'd reflect poorly on him. After all, Leon hadn't technically hired him--Leon's manager had.
His question asked, Moose went right back to eating, chomping his way through an alarming amount of food in very little time.

Once they were quite comfortably (or uncomfortably, Leon couldn't imagine that Moose was feeling very comfortable on his own seat) sitting on the outside patio portion of restaurant place, Leon started eating his small-compared-to-Moose's-portion lunch, still looking in a mix of awe and confusion as to how someone, not matter their size, could possibly consume that much. Then again, he ws in no position to judge, looking at his absolutely massive pile of sweets. It probably wasn't the best idea to give him that much sugar, but in his opinion it was an amazing idea. And that was all Moose had to know. That having candy was an amazing idea.
So it was a smooth lie he had told many times to unsuspecting people when Moose asked whether or not he was going to get in trouble. "Of course you won't! I won't let you get in trouble about something stupid like that anyways." To Leon what was no big deal might be a huge deal, and vice versa. That sugar would probably make him more hyper than he currently was already. "But if you really are that concerned, you don't have to tell anybody about it. Just between the two of us~"
Nope, he went back to happily eating his food and prophesized that in a little while he'd be eating a feast of desserts. "If you want some when you're done eating, just take some, okay? I don't mind."

tagged: character. date: date and time.notes: notes. Leon's first response suggested to Moose that people probably didn't care. He was an adult, and he could eat what he wanted. Of course, his followup led a significant amount of doubt to that idea, and Moose scowled, squinting at him. If you had to hide something to stop from getting into trouble, that meant you weren't supposed to be doing it. He was already plowing through his own food, somehow managing to simultaneously scowl and eat, but by the time Leon suggested that Moose reduce the number of sweets he was eating, he had already decided to do so anyway. His food was done in less then five minutes, a byproduct of having spent his entire life in an environment where meals were time-limited, and he eyed the selection of deserts with his continual scowl.
"What's good?" He finally asked, having absolutely no idea what he should pick. He could easily count the number of desserts he'd eaten on one hand, and that was assuming that you counted a bag of peanuts as a dessert. Everything Leon had looked distinctly different, and Moose simply wasn't sure if it was really appetizing to him or not.

Moose didn't say much, and Leon considered the subject dropped. What his manager didn't know, wouldn't hurt him. Even if his manager was his overbearing, overprotective nii-sama. Which made it ten times harder to get away with stuff. Besides, if Eric did somehow find out that he had been eating sweets, it would be Leon, not Moose, who got in trouble because, well, Leon was not going to lie and say similar situations have happened before, back in Japan. It wasn't a bad thing - at least, he didn't view it as a bad thing.
What was a little concerning - while being quite amusing at the same time - was how fast Moose had consumed his share of food. Five, ten minutes couldn't possibly have passed, and Leon could not stop staring at the empty area that had once contained piles of food. In fact, he had barely finished his own share of actual lunch. Oh, how silly he was when he had been concerned for Moose's stomach, when obviously that wasn't even enough food. Oh, how incredibly silly.
How was he supposed to know how much his bodyguard could handle, anyways? Still, Leon was sort of glad of it, because with the amount of sweets and desserts he had picked up for himself he probably couldn't even finish. "Well it depends on what you like. I think everything here is good, else I wouldn't have picked it. Chocolate is always good, like this thing right here!" Leon pointed at something he wasn't actually sure of the name. It was micky mouse head shaped and he could describe it as a chocolate covered rice krispie treat.

tagged: character. date: date and time.notes: notes. He was full. Honest to goodness full. It was the first time, possibly in his entire life, that he'd felt genuinely full. The whole thing was just actually enjoyable. He'd expected to have to trail around a bratty kid to keep him from getting in trouble, and while there was a certain amount of keeping Leon out of trouble, he certainly wasn't a brat (if a bit hyperactive).
The rest of the day was about as eventful as the first half, although it involved a whole lot less sneaking behind the scenes. There were more rides, and more food (which Moose summarily devoured, having gotten a taste for chocolate at lunch). The whole thing was a tad exhausting by the end, even for Moose, and while his legs weren't screaming as Leon's might be, he was mentally exhausted by the end of it. As the park started to close he ushered Leon out, onto the bus, and back to the hotel. He wasn't even halfway back and he was nodding off, doing his best to keep himself awake.
The lobby meant it was time for a goodbye, and Moose gave Leon a small smile. "It was fun. Hope you enjoyed it."

So the chocolate wasn't the best idea, but at least it tasted good, and he was maybe a little hyper for the remainder of the day. He had even been able to take Moose to see the fireworks and stuff. Although, by the end of it, he was tired, impossibly so. All the walking. All the walking. Dear god, the park was huge. And of course, Leon insisted on doing a lot of things. Which required a lot of walking a lot. He hadn't really noticed how sore his legs seemed to be until a little while later.
He was having a lot of fun, anyways, and the pain was completely worth the fun he had. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to spent it with any of his band mates, but they were all busy for some reason or another, and Moose was good company as anyone would be (if not more!). But he was probably better than most when accompanying him. At least he didn't get fed up with him.
Now that he was sitting down he was getting really tired, and he was almost glad he was back at the hotel. "It was great, let's do it again, okay?" Best day since getting to LA, for sure.
