tagged: open. date: april 29th, 2012, around 4pm.notes: notes. Even Moose was getting a bit surprised by the girl. She really didn't have any fear of him. After all, she'd just flat out said no one would be coming. No one would know for hours if he did anything. It was just such a massive opportunity, staring him right in the face, and all things considered, he simply wouldn't do anything with it.
Most would have, he was convinced. Maybe it was just the people he'd been around (not the best sample size), but he sincerely doubted that even those who were 'innocent' (something he'd never claimed) would have jumped at the chance. It was just so damn obvious. Didn't she realize how much danger she was putting herself in?
Really, he felt a bit wary--wary enough to actually express his concern.
"You probably shouldn't trust people so much. I mean... not going to do anything, but some people might." He said. Really, did he have to explain this to her? Wasn't this like the sort of shit you learned in grade school?
He really wasn't expecting much of a response as she watched off, and he raised an eyebrow at the pink. Really, he should have expected that, but it still came as a surprise. Him and pink. Nope. They just didn't go together, and after a moment he decided to stay standing until he could shower. He'd just end up making a mess.

tagged: moose. time: april 29, 2012 - 4:00PM. speech: rhiannon. notes: please pm me if there are problems. To be honest, Rhiannon had heard the last thing Moose said, and she replied (just a little loudly) through the closed bathroom door, "I didn't trust you all that much at first, to be fair -- but you're bigger than me by a lot, so even if I were to say, run, you'd probably have caught up to me in ten seconds flat." There was a pause, and the sound of the shower faucet being turned on. "And let's assume you did have bad intentions -- I think you'd have done them already? At least for now, you've seemed like a pretty good guy, so until you do something to make me think otherwise, you're pretty much in my good books." But if he did do something bad, that would not last.
There was the sound of a shower curtain being pushed aside, and the next time Rhiannon would speak would be after the water had been turned off and when she came out of the bathroom already fully clothed in her pajamas. "Shower's all yours now," Rhiannon said as she toweled her hair in front of the mirror behind the sink. "I'm not sure what we can do about your clothes though -- unless you want me to try to run them through the washing machine and dryer while you're in the shower. No promises as to whether they'll be ready by the time you're out though." A pause, and then Rhiannon added, "Unless you're one of those people who take like hour-long showers. Then I might be able to pull it off." Maybe. It was... a plausible possibility.

tagged: open. date: april 29th, 2012, around 4pm.notes: notes. He could have been biding his time. He could simply had been waiting for the best possible opportunity to strike, to be able to know where Rhiannon lived and that she would be alone. He could have simply been waiting patiently for the best possible chance.
Of course, that thought didn't occur to Moose. He wasn't a particularly thoughtful person, and the perfect counter argument simply didn't pop into his brain. He simply let out a little grunt, mentally deciding she'd won that argument, and then went right back to looking around, still bemused by the pink. Did everything have to be pink? Did she particularly shop just for things that were pink, or did she just happen to buy things that came in multiple colors?
Good god, even her pajamas were pink. Not that he was all that surprised by it. Everything was pink, why not that? Glancing at the door, he considered her question. He really only had one set of clothes. It was difficult enough to get clothes that fit him that he'd never managed a second pair. It seemed a bit of a shame to wash himself and then put on dirty clothes, and after a minute of considering he decided.
"If you'll wash 'em, that'd be good. I'll just stay in till they're done." Because good god, it wasn't as if he didn't need a whole lot of scrubbing. If he didn't come out pink he'd have wasted his time. "I'll just drop 'em by the door if that's good."

tagged: moose. time: april 29, 2012 - 4:00PM. speech: rhiannon. notes: please pm me if there are problems. It wasn't that Rhiannon didn't buy things that weren't pink -- it was that she tended to like the pink versions of things a whole lot better most of the time. There were, of course, exceptions, and her wardrobe was actually rather varied when it came to colors. (wearing all pink with pink hair and pink contacts all the time would just be overkill, even for her -- she had to break up all the pink with white or ivory at the very least, that was for sure.) And don't even get her started on how there were variations of about every single color, or so she'd insist. Thankfully, it never crossed her mind.
"Hold on, let me get a plastic bag or two for you to put everything in," Rhiannon said, draping her towel over her shoulders. She would have offered her laundry basket, but... well, truth be told, as nice as Moose was, he didn't want his clothes anywhere near hers. Her clothes were precious, precious things to her, after all, and had to be taken care of with the utmost of attention. She slipped into her room momentarily and came back out with a couple of plastic bags that had the logo of some supermarket over the front -- she'd be throwing them away afterwards, but it was a necessary sacrifice. That, and she had too many of them anyways, what with her parents always sending her back to school with more groceries than she could reasonably use or eat. "Yeah, just drop them by the door after shoving them in the bags, I'll take care of the rest." Hopefully... Moose would know to knot the handles.

tagged: open. date: april 29th, 2012, around 4pm.notes: notes. Moose had no illusions about the quality of his clothes compared to Rhiannon's clothing. He was pretty sure his entire wardrobe was probably worth less then one of her damn socks, and he wasn't terribly surprised when she went to get a bag. His clothes were dirty, and he knew it.
With the bag in hand he stepped into the bathroom, finding it... well, very pink. He refused to let himself be surprised by it anymore though, and he set the bag down, fumbling with the door for a moment before managing to lock it. Really, he wasn't even that concerned about being naked in a strangers house--he'd showered around a massive group of men, and one girl wasn't going to bother him. Even if she was a girl, which were... well, he had no idea what to do about them.
Even so, when he'd finally peeled his clothes off, shoving them in the bag and tying it off, he just found out he was dirtier then he'd thought. He really hadn't had a reason to strip down for quite some time, and he certainly hadn't seen himself in the mirror for quite a bit. He had to hunch slightly to see himself, but all he could think was that she had to have been crazy to let him in. The tan of his skin mixed with the dirt, and the crisscross across the bridge of his nose stood out all the more. He looked like a thug, like some horrible criminal. He supposed he was, but that didn't make it any better.
He wasn't one for navel gazing though, and after turning on the shower, he knocked once, the bag at the base of the door, stepping in. Good god, there was practically a swamp coming off him--the water turning a muddy brown without even trying to scrub. First layer would just be water, second layer scrubbing, third layer soap. Even if he knew little about the real world, he was fairly sure that leaving behind a piece of soap that'd gone black would probably be considered bad manners.

tagged: moose. time: april 29, 2012 - 4:00PM. speech: rhiannon. notes: please pm me if there are problems. Rhiannon, on the other hand, would have been very concerned if there was a naked man in her apartment who was not behind a closed and locked bathroom door. Sure, she had seen her fair share of unclothed people in her figure drawing classes, but outside of an academic environment... yeah, that was not going to fly. She could just see her mother and Paris laughing their asses off while her father and Quentin brandished the pitchforks and torches. Yeah, no, this was not something she was going to tell any of them about for the rest of the history of forever. Definitely not, Rhiannon decided with her back turned away as she carefully combed her hair.
There was a knock on the bathroom door, and Rhiannon waited for what was perhaps thirty seconds before she turned around to retrieve the bags. "Alright, I'll be back in about an hour or so, stay in there until you hear someone knock five times quickly in a row," she said, though she wasn't sure if Moose could hear her at all. Probably not, what with the shower going and all that. After retrieving some laundry detergent and a couple of dryer sheets, Rhiannon grabbed her phone and room keys before leaving the dorm and heading for the laundry room. The girl wrinkled her nose when she dumped Moose's clothes into one of the washing machines. Was she really going to use the amount of detergent she would use for an entire load of clothes for just one set of someone else's? The answer was very obviously a big, fat yes. Just as an extra measure, she added one-and-a-half times the normal amount.
A slide of the laundry card later, Rhiannon chucked the plastic bags, then sat down in one of the chairs and simply went through her Facebook and Instagram feeds for the next thirty minutes or so before the machine beeped to indicate that it was done, and she stood up to (very gingerly) transfer Moose's clothes into one of the dryers along with the dryer sheets. Another swipe of the laundry card, and another half-an-hour of surfing the internet on her phone -- this time browsing online shopping services to see if there were any new clothes that she wanted to buy. (There was one pair of really cute high heels for $250 -- she would have to sit on that for a day or two before deciding or sure. But the chandelier tattoo tights -- those were a steal, so she was definitely getting those.) Once the dryer went off Rhiannon, tucked her phone away and went to go take a look. Well, the clothes looked clean...
Dare she... actually sniff the clothes to see if they had been properly washed? No, she decided. There was no way that she dared, and with that, she picked up everything and went right back up to her dorm room. After putting her phone and keys back in her purse and placed the detergent back to where she usualy kept, it, Rhiannon neatly folded Moose's clothes and set them on the counter next to the sink before she spent the next two or so minutes washing her hands very, very, very thoroughly. She patted her hands dry on the hand towel that was hanging near the mirror before knocking five times on the bathroom door. "Your clothes are by the sink, you should be able to reach them without having to open the door that much. I'll be in the room, so just come in when you're done." She didn't want to accidentally see anything. No, just no. Rhiannon was quick to scoot off to her room.

tagged: open. date: april 29th, 2012, around 4pm.notes: notes. He could hear her message, but he didn't think to respond. All things considered, he was particularly focused on getting all the dirt off.
It was, to say the least, a particularly time consuming project. It wasn't as simply as just standing under the spray and getting clean. For the first few minutes he simply stood in the spray, letting the water run down him until it was slightly less brown. Then he opted to rub himself down, simply rubbing at his skin with his hands to try and get more dirt off. It worked to a point, and he probably could have passed for 'mostly clean' by most people's standards.
Only Moose had literally no idea when he'd next get a chance to shower. Maybe two weeks from then? But he couldn't risk it not happening, which meant he was going to have to be damn thorough. Picking through the bottles (with a whole lot of squinting at terms he had no idea about), he finally found himself some shampoo, using a liberal dose before starting to scrub.
He'd made enough bubbles to drown a cat when he finally let himself wash it off, bending down to get himself under the spray. Now that was dirt. One shampoo was not going to do it, and after letting himself rinse off, he repeated the process again.
Two wasn't enough either. In the end he shampoo'd his relatively short hair not once, not twice, but four times. It was only then that the water came out clean (but soapy) and he was satisfied.
Which still left the rest of him, and it was only after a whole lot of scrubbing and soap that he finally decided he was done. Had it been an hour? It actually hadn't--and after a few more minutes of waiting, there was a sudden knocking at the door. Rhiannon was back then.
Well, that was better. Turning off the water he slid out of the shower, grabbing one of the less pink--and obviously older--towels, he toweled off diligently before slipping one arm outside to retrieve his clothes. Fully dressed, he had a look back at the bathroom and paled slightly. Oh dear. It was dirty. It took him another ten minutes to try and clean up as much as possible.
When he emerged, he was a whole hell of a lot cleaner, and a good deal pinker. While obviously tanned, his skin looked like it had been scrubbed nearly raw.

tagged: moose. time: april 29, 2012 - 4:00PM. speech: rhiannon. notes: please pm me if there are problems. Rhiannon took a few minutes set up the spare sheets, pillows, and blankets on the floor. It would have to do for Moose' makeshift bed for the night -- she couldn't exactly offer him her roommate's bed now, could she? No, not unless she wanted her roommate to... oh, take scissors to her hair or something. She shuddered at the thought. No, definitely not an option. There was the sound of a door opening, and Rhiannon turned around to peek outside -- and almost giggled. Almost. Who would have thought that Moose would end up looking as pink as the rest of the room. That being said, she flounced past him for a second to look inside the bathroom and... okay, then. It... could be worse. "I'll... go and take care of that tomorrow morning,"
The bathroom was still a mess, but it wasn't something that was above her capability to take care of. (To be honest, she had been expecting worse, somewhere in the back of her head.) She'd probably spare the entire place down with Lysol and Febreze after she cleaned everything though. You could never be too thorough with cleaning. "Okay, so... I can offer you toothpaste, but I don't have any extra toothbrushes, so... just treat it like mouthwash or something." In the meantime, Rhiannon herself quickly brushed her teeth and do the rest of her before-bed regimen before returning to the room. It was... actually pretty late. Definitely late enough for it to time for bed -- and it had been a long day. A very, very long day...
"Well, if there's nothing else you need, I'm going to go to sleep now," Rhiannon said, crawling up onto her own bed and plugging her phone up to a charger. As she set an alarm on her phone, she told Moose, "I'm setting an alarm for... eight-thirty in the morning tomorrow, so... I'll wake you up then if you aren't already up by then." Setting the phone down on the nightstand, she turned to Moose and said, "Goodnight, Moose. Thank you for helping me out today, I really appreciate it. Sleep well, alright?" And with that, she turned the last light in the room off and settled into her own bed to go sleep. Tomorrow was going to be another long day.

tagged: open. date: april 29th, 2012, around 4pm.notes: notes. Moose winced slightly at her comment. No, he hadn't done a very good job cleaning. It wasn't as if he'd ever had to do it before--he could only make a rough guess of how he was supposed to do it and give it a shot. There was probably still plenty of grime he hadn't noticed, having a crappy memory of what the bathroom had looked like when he went in. So shoot him--he hadn't been looking.
Moose had a rough idea of how toothpaste was supposed to work, and he simply used his finger in place of a toothbrush, scrubbing away. At least his teeth weren't complete shit. He could manage, and after a lot more scrubbing, he washed his mouth out with water.
He felt a whole lot cleaner then he had for a long time. He didn't even feel that bad about sleeping on the floor--it wasn't like he was going to get it dirty. Plus, the pillow and blankets were a far better bed then he was used to, and as he sunk down to his knees, crawling under them, he actually let out a quiet sigh of relief.
It would have been a lie to say he missed it. He had no memory of a life before prison, no memory of having a room of his own. He'd never be able to remember the room he'd grown up in, or the first room that had really been 'his own'. Being in a room that was so quiet and relaxed was a new thing, and in only a few moments, Moose was asleep.
