Lucas stared at the cyborg man, really wishing he could just wake up from this nightmare. It felt far to real to be a nightmare though. He gazed carefully at the young man behind him, watching him fiddle with a few game systems. Something told Lucas that this kid would certainly not be as dumb as to play video games right now.
As he looked back the monster had gotten much closer, really where he didn't want him to be. And that eye... something about made Lucas feel very troubled. It was unusual to see on a human, yes, but it was actually spreading. “Jesus Christ... “ He said quietly under his breath. It was shortly taken away by the punch the cyborg threw. With an almost sickening joy and happiness to be there, it landed in his ribcage. The shock of the hit left Lucas gasping for his breath. There was no way a guy this size could hit that hard... Lucas' troubled feeling was soon turning into fear, and he had no idea what to do.

He looked up quickly, eyes widening as the mutant woman he'd spotted earlier now stood in front of him. In the middle of a circle of cracked floor. His hands trembled as he finished rearranging the wires, trying to ignore the seducing remarks she was sending his way.
But he jumped again as her foot connected with the floor directly in front of him. Yeah, right, missed. He darted to the side just as her other foot came down; well at least she was semi-predictable. Most of the time, when a villain taunted about missing, they were going to repeat their act. Giving him just enough time to dodge. Once again, he thanked his video games. Then he took said game systems in hand, now make-shift tazers. The batteries were small, and wouldn't hold much of a charge, a one-time shock. But with the metal running through her lips, he was counting on it to amplify the electricity enough to knock her out, or at least stun her.
Sorry about this.... he thought in his head. Will brought the two devices up, one to her chest, and one to her lips, bracing himself. Some part of his brain registered the female voice he heard in his ear, but he made absolutely no effort to answer. He was sure once she got back down here she'd forgive him for his…rudeness. And hopefully had another weapon hidden somewhere else suspicious seeing as this bitch had bent up the one he had now. His upper lip curled slightly as he realized this, but he made no other signs of distress. He'd hit her at least - that was a positive, right? His eyes settled on the wound she'd acquired for a brief second, and he was absolutely horrified to see it healing. Right then and there. Sure it hadn't been a deep wound to begin with, from the look he'd managed to get from it, but…seriously? Yeah lets mentally screw with him some more, sprinkle some inhuman healing on top of those tacky machinations.
'For fuck's sake.' It was the only thought he managed to get out before he saw her move, and instantly, he moved - fluidly ducking, one kneecap barely touching the linoleum before launching himself away from her, towards the floor, and twisted his body to ensure his shoulder took the brunt of the impact and rolled him away, towards the other two that were trapped in here. If he was going to deal with this crap, he wanted meat shields. Not that he was going to say it like that, naturally - oh no he'd greet them like he was there to help. Rayna needed to hurry her ass up, though - he didn't mind playing distraction if he had his sniper as backup, but this was just utter crap.
The assassin pushed himself off the ground as fast as possible after his avoidance of the female's attempt to pin him, glad for the temporary breather as he was on his feet and taking a few steps back - as close to the other two as he dared, not wishing to pull the attention of the other…thing. "You boys doing any better than me?" This question was followed by a sickening crunch sound, but Lukas dare not turn around to see what the source was. "I take that as a no." His eyes still set on his own personal assaulter the whole time, he continued to hold the bent switchblade aloft - it couldn't be used to its usual finesse, but it was still sharp - you take what you can get in these situations.

[atrb=width,500px][atrb=border,0px,true][atrb=vAlign,top][STYLE=border-right: 120px solid #4a4d5a; text-align: justify; padding: 0px 10px 20px 0px;font-size: 10px] From the looks of things, the situation had not changed for the better. If anything it had actually gotten worse. Currently, each of the three people in the lobby was being attacked by one those things. The orange haired man was clutching his chest in pain. The red head that Theodore had noticed earlier had something that looked like a knife in his hand but it looked bent; definitely not going to help. And with the last person being blocked from his view by one of the creatures, Theodore could not tell how the dark haired man was doing (although he was not very optimistic about the boy’s prospects).
There was no one that could help and he had no idea how to use tasers so the objects in his hand were completely useless to him. They were going to die. He realized that already, but it was only now that he truly realized the severity of that statement. He loved life. He had unfulfilled dreams. He did not want to die. He was not ready, not yet. It was three on three and with their attentions elsewhere, Theodore realized that he had the perfect chance to escape. The guilt would weigh heavily on him for his selfish action but he would run and he would live no matter what the cost.
”Think fast,” he shouted. Theodore tossed the tasers at them and then ran out the exit. He continued running away from the building, without looking back. None of the passerbys paid him any attention. They were far too busy recovering from the recent quake and trying to get by without electricity.
Theodore did not look back. He ran and he ran until he returned to his flat. Mechanically, he walked to his bed and just collapsed as he thought over today’s events when he had a sudden realization: it had… stopped. He had felt pulsing beneath his feet earlier but he had attributed it to his adrenaline rush. He was nowhere near calm enough to be off the rush but the pulsing beneath his feet had stopped. In fact, it had stopped quite some time ago but he had not stopped to think about it.
Was this what his mother was trying to protect him from when she kept him at home? What else could there possibly be out in the world? Theodore buried himself into his bed, and pondered what in the world his future was going to be like. Rayna's body stayed still as she listened to the movement above her. 'You have to be kidding me.' Was all she could think as she realized that the sound was not just a snapped wire. There was something above them, something was with them. Bang, bang Those were all the warning Rayna needed to pop the ammo cartridge out of her gun and switch it out for something with a bit more power behind it. She was already tired of playing the nice guy, no, if these things wanted to play hardball then she would give them a good time.
She placed the live ammo cartridge from her chest into her gun and cocked it. This girl meant business and was not about to put up with any bull. Her gun now held a SP-6 subsonic cartridge, not the best for sniping, but it would do the job today. She braced herself as she waited to see if what was banging on the elevator would just get bored and go away. Of course Rayna had no such luck as then thing ripped a hole and dropped down. Great it was another one of those things, a man, yet not. This bothered Rayna and she wanted nothing more then to pull the trigger, but then he spoke.
Something about his words stopped her from killing him on the spot, wait what? She honestly looked confused and then angry as she kep her gun pointed at him. "your kidding me right? You come banging and fucking around while your buddies are downstairs doing the same damn thing. You, you have the gall to tell me that I think that I am superior? I have no clue what you are even going on about. First of all I am not here to ruin this little metal party of yours. I have a job here, that was it, in and out." She huffed as she continued, this thing was going to get a ear full from her, oh yes he was.
"What do you even mean by superior? Yes I have the gun and know how to use it, but i have a feeling that isn't the whole story. Do me a favor and share with the class." She never twitched, never shifted, it was as if her body and mind worked in different sets. Her mind was yelling, angry, and just overall pissed off. Her body was still, calm and was ready for the slightest danger, a gun in the hand made Rayna a deadly human.
Info: SP-6 rounds can penetrate through 30 layers of Kevlar at 200m or through 8mm of steel at 500m. (Just thought you'd like to know)

TOUCH MUTANT | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
The mutant scowled slightly at this sad excuse for a woman. He had wasted enough effort on the girl, why did he not rip her throat out like his instincts had told him to do. "You are resistant, your body cannot receive this blessing" The mutant locked eyes with her, he bore into her eyes, he could easily see her anger through her aura of calm. Normally she would be angered but she had been trained somehow to fight her own instincts and be this calm but elegant woman. He was almost impressed, almost. He would see how long it would take for her to break, she might have been resistant to the mutation but he was resistant to her silly human weapons. Even if she dare fire at him besides the pain his master would heal him.
"You dare threaten me with your modern day technology?" The man took another step towards her before he slowly brought up one of his hands. He brought his had to eye level and clenched his metallic fingers to make a fist before slowly unfurling his fingers. He smiled in an almost demonic way, "I am superior, it is a shame you could not join us in assisting the master" It was all he said before his other hand which was not in front of his face quickly shot out, his fingers seemed to lengthen during the action, the ability to manipulate his metallic body was still new to him. He did not display his surprise for when it actually worked, his fingers dug into the side of the metal elevator, digging into the metal itself, his hand encased the little boys face. The boy merely squirmed in pain. He would not kill the boy yet, the girl had some form of attachment to the skin sack. His hand in front of his face still, unfurling and clenching his hand. It was only when he moved to strike the woman that he realized his mistake. She had a link to the past. It was as his hand moved to pierce her chest did he recoil in searing pain.

The power rippled out of nowhere, triggered by the threat of death mixed with the heavy presence of fate. The blinding light seemed to flash just as her heart seemed to speed up in anticipation. The flash of light lasted only for that one heartbeat, the heartbeat that brought Rayna back to her past. It was only a heartbeat but Rayna could see the rolling hills of some unknown land, the thrall of battle could be seen throughout the lush fields. The war was back. The light was gone and she was brought back to reality. The monster seemed to be frozen with a look of pain on its face, Tobias frozen in mid squirm. Rayna could feel the presence of the two realities within the elevator, it was as if she was caught between both of them. The reality within the elevator was frozen in time, paralyzed by the presence of the old reality overlapping it. Rayna could feel her heartbeat race as she could feel the thrall of battle, hear her comrades shout for her. She could feel her body moving in that reality, her actions not up to her. She was a skilled fighter but it was her potential that made her great. She was the future of the kingdom.
She snapped back into her own time all at once. Everything was blurry, the light seeming to have left her senses dazed but her body had begun the change. The link had been opened. Time still moved slightly slower but Rayna seemed to be unaffected by this time shift.

SIGHT MUTANT | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
The mutant smiled as he felt his fist land against the man's ribcage. The contact sent shivers down the mutants spine, it was like christmas for the mutant. He wasted no time in charging forward, the punch may have been a small victory but it was nothing compared with what he would do to him. The mutants were told to be careful of him, the link to the past in him was very close to the surface, hence why it was easy to sense. This much energy around was bound to trigger something at some point. As much as he enjoyed toying with his pray he actually had to take things seriously or else things could get ugly. The mutant would have to actually exterminate him before he awoken. Things were more fun if they were easy, false hope was fun but even a spark of hope could be deadly. It was the last thing he needed.
The man seemed confused but the mutant didn't care. This man would have to die. There was no other choice, the past must be exterminated. It was the only was to ensure fate was all powerful, Fate could not control five kingdoms once more. The mutant pounced on the man, his eye analyzing him, as he sprung at him his hands extended towards his neck, it was always the most fun to rip out the jugular before their very eyes. It was only when his fingers touched his skin did he realize he had toyed with his prey for too long.

CLAIMING | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
As the mutants fingers touched his skin, Lucas' past link opened. Unlike identifications which happened to be more insightful claimings happened to be more useful. Lucas could feel the tingling in the ground, still pulsating with power but it was different then it ever was, it seemed to ripple through Lucas' whole body in an instant. It was also in this instant that a wall of pure rock seemed to jut out of the ground in front of Lucas. The rock caused the cement to crack and buckle away from the upcoming rock, clearly breaking through the floor and the blunt edge of the rock made contact with the mutant sending him flying. Lucas was surrounded by a patch of grass, the claiming was complete. Lucas' past has been identified as the Earth kingdom, even if he has no real idea what is happening the Earth has claimed him as one of their own. The Mutant went flying across the room only to end up smashing against the far wall, the cement cracking with the force of the impact. The rock still jutted out from the ground as if taunting the mutant. The battle was far from over as the Mutant was howling in pain, it's body parts slowly starting to crack as it realigned them. It was obvious that it had broken bones from the impact.

HEARING MUTANT | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
The women made contact with the cement wall, chunks seemed to rain down on her as she popped her shoulder blade back into place. That asshole, he seemed fun. He had jumped out of the way, he was sexy and she liked it. She cracked her neck as she pried herself off of the wall, leaving behind a large crack in it that could be best described as a dent. It was a shame he didn't have his internal organs crushed in her body check. From the sound of her fellow mutants she could tell they were doing a good job since they were obviously winning. She frowned slightly as the red haired man bolted to join the other two men. That was unfortunate that she couldn't play with him by herself. She started to run at him, once again going for the crushing body check, this time even if she missed she would collide with another one of the boys.
As she ran towards them she could sense something changing. The one was starting to link to the past, this was not good. She wanted to stop running but the fear in her eyes could not be avoided as she tried to stop but it was too late. She watched in terror as a chunk of earth seemed to pop out of the earth to hit her comrade in mid flight. It wasn't as bad as she thought it would be, at least it wasn't her. It was only as she was within centimetres of the red haired man and was bracing for impact did she realize maybe there was more than one link. It was a chain reaction, she swore under her breath as she smiled, this would be more interesting.

Energy rippled around Lukas, his blood getting hotter by the second. The earth had awoken next to him, the heat seemed to build within him, it was as the woman was close to him that it triggered. Fire has claimed him, the resulting flame seemed to ignite around the women, causing her to stop mere centimetres away from him. Usually he would be burn but he could not feel the heat of the fire that was almost scalding his skin. The scorch marks in front of him seemed to circle the mutant before him. She fell to her knees, the fire no longer engulfing her but it seemed to have died out as quickly as it had started. The only proof of the fire was the scorch marks on the cement as well as the mutant who's peeling skin was slowly repairing itself with the help of fate's power. Fire had itself a new assassin.

The women frowned as she missed a second time. She didn't have time to react nor did she have time to pout about not breaking the boys leg. She instead was met by the electrical current surging through her body. "You brrrrrrat"She seemed to say through her pain. She was mostly paralyzed through her pain, the master would not be pleased how this was going, she could see the claiming happening around her. It was only when she saw the boys eyes start to turn a dark purple colour and slowly intensify did she know she was in trouble.

William could feel the energy surge through him. The pure spirit energy seemed to make him feel as if he contained the power to save the world. It all started with one person at a time. His eyes continued to intensify in colour, the tazers still paralyzing the mutant. It was only when his eyes turned sharply turned back to their original colour did he realize what he had done. The women no longer had a metal mouth. She was back to normal, William's aura seemed to shine around him in a brilliant purple as the Spirit kingdom had claimed him with pride. The aura seemed to be a faint glow slightly around his body but never actually touches his skin. It almost seemed to ripple with pure power, exposing his raw power momentarily. The girl before him miraculously turned back to normal from such a horrid state. The tazers no longer worked but the women seemed to be hovering before she slowly started to go unconscious and faint.

As Theodore's feet pounded against the pavement he could sense changes coming from the building he was just in. Fates power seemed to ripple through the whole building before rumbling into the ground like a ripple in still water. The energy colliding with many living things, including Theodore. A torrent of wind seemed to engulf Theodore, he was in the eye of the storm. The wind seemed to cocoon him in a perfect circle, the wind almost visible as it traveled so fast. It didn't last very long but it seemed to have changed something within him. The air kingdom has claimed their first warrior in this war and Theodore seemed to have escaped the battle completely unharmed.

Lucas recoiled in pain, his ribs aching. He was absolutely terrified at this point, as the man with the eye was advancing quickly. He was fucking enjoy this! Lucas gasped as his breath came short, the pain in his side was... painful. He could have sworn he just saw death offering him a cup of tea, and maybe a jolly good game of hungry hungry hippos. He had to stop reading web comics.
The man was incredibly close now, his finger tips touched his skin. He closed his eyes and waited for death to invite him to sit, and tell him that he could be the yellow hippo, if he wanted. In a second though, things changed. Lucas felt the earth beneath him, the pulse of the earth, the flow of the tectonic plates. It was actually really neat, and for once Lucas felt like he was learning something! He wished he was in school again, life was simpler then.
His mind quickly got back to the task at hand however. The mutant was moment away from killing him, thought he stopped. There was a rumbled in the distance. It didn't come from the area around Lucas, but from beneath him. A rock shot up from out of the ground, knocking Lucas on his back as he slammed into the mutant. The ginger stared, mouth agape at the stone, hearing the mutant moan in agony as his limbs cracked. He looked at the grass around him, really confused at what was going on. He slowly got back to his feet, and looked around. He had time to prepare something, to do something. He noticed the other were having similar experiences, though not earth related. One had set the lady with messed up ears ablaze, and the other...
Wait, she looked... cured! “Hey! Little guy! What did you do?!” Lucas called out, hoping they could repeat what he did and fix all this.

No way. It had actually worked? Then he felt... something, he wasn't quite sure how to describe it. It surged through him, some overpowering feeling. Like he was actually strong. He could do things. He could change the world if he wanted to. All from just this one moment. This moment of having been able to stop a mutated creature.
Then suddenly the feeling was gone. He blinked rapidly, dropping the useless devices to the ground. Stared at his hands. His body. He no longer paid any attention to the woman in front of him. No, his focus was on something else entirely. Something much more pressing. He was glowing. Purple. He was actually glowing purple!!! What was going on?!?! People didn't just fucking glow purple! His hands started to shake as he stared at them. No way. No fucking way. This wasn't happening. He was just seeing things, right?
Something nudged in the back of his mind, telling him to move. He sidestepped around the woman, barely noticing as she collapsed to the ground, and avoided being hit by the man he'd been standing behind as he fell to the floor as well. A small part of his mind told him he should probably take notice of the grass surrounding the man, or the rock jutting out of the ground, or even the mutant a little ways away whose skin had seemed to melt off.
But seriously, he was glowing PURPLE!!!
William's head shot up as he finally seemed to catch up to himself, brought on by the man now standing nearby asking him something. He looked down at the woman he'd been fighting. Wait, hadn't she just been a mutant? There was definitely nothing wrong with her now, except for her being fainted. Her lips were no longer metal. They seemed to have returned back to normal. "Um... I... I-I... I don't know... I... I electrocuted her...?" he managed to stammer out, staring between the unconscious woman, the man talking to him, and his own hands.

Lukas heard the voice, saw the object soar towards the air to them, and automatically reached, and allowed himself a slit second to take his attention off the woman, swapping his switchblade to his other hand, grabbing the taser midair, and immediately turned back to his wonderful friend, not particularly fond of the idea of being pinned by the thing. His eyes locked on her again, saw her movement, saw her coming - it would have been easy enough to avoid, she simply would have hit the two kids behind him. He didn't care. His lips curled into a smirk, but before he could even move, something…extremely odd happened. He felt as if the world, the fabric, of everything…shifted. It was easily the strangest sensation he'd ever felt.
He froze, and his expression shifted - to something confused, shocked, even. It was almost an involuntary reaction, and…he wasn't sure about…anything, honestly. He heard noises from the other two that made him almost wish he could turn and see what was happening to them - to see if the thing had killed them yet - but he was both physically unable and wise enough not to even try. It was if suddenly, something was literally holding him in place for those split seconds. The redhead felt something reach in him and pull - he wasn't sure what but he certainly didn't like the feeling - and it was suddenly very hot. For a moment, it was incredibly uncomfortable, and then, it was gone, as if it never happened. It gave him a jolt and stole most the air from his lungs for a good five seconds, at least. It was then he saw the creature that was intent on him was close, very close - this realization being followed by a sinking sensation, knowing he wasn't going to be able to move in time…and suddenly there was fire. Fucking. Fire.
He wanted to react, to recoil, because third degree burns weren't fun, but his whole body felt like it was…suspended and yet, held in place at the same time. But there was no burn. His mind had managed to go full throttle at this moment, temporarily blocking out the fact he didn't even feel heat from the flames, running through a million options. 'Faulty gas lines…no the whole place would blow. Boiler, maybe. Maybe there's oil from the parts they have and something sparked…from knife hitting any of the metal, cigarette butts, taser spark. Maybe one of these fuckers short-circuited or something…shit.' He watched as the mutant after him fell to the ground, injured by the searing heat of said flames. He guessed he should have been grateful, but the mantra in the back of his head wouldn't stop - 'How, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how…'
No. No time to think. Later. Bigger problems, and he had the opportunity to solve one. His mind seemed to be registering the conversation going on behind him, somehow - his brain was functioning despite his shock, amazingly…it came with the years of training, he guessed. Electrocuted. He had a way to pull that off as well. Even if it didn't change her back, it would stun her, and he could snap her neck while she was stunned, if nothing else. The fire had thrown her off, and Lukas used every once of willpower he had to force himself to move. He had to get her before she healed, before she got back up. He bent, flicked the switch on the taser in his hand, heard the crack and surge of the electricity charge, and proceeded to jam it none to gently at her side. If nothing else, it could hit her in the ribs and hurt like a real bitch.

Really, if ugly was a bless she was more then happy to be immune. Wait, immune to what? Was this some kind of sickness? Maybe biological warfare? Rayna really did not have the time to worry about the whys, but she would do her best to find out later. She never let down her guard, her gun stayed as steady as ever. He could boast about how safe he was from her weapon, but Rayna trusted too much in her rifles to believe him. Though she would agree that the situation was no looking to a favor. "Master? Who is this master?" Even though she questioned him she would not be given an answer, in stead the man made a move. Yet it was not for her, he grabbed the child and Rayna did nothing but watch. She had a moment o wondering if this child was what these things really wanted. Her mind clicked, he was there in the lobby. At least Rayna assumed so, since he was in the elevator when she entered it.
For once Rayna cursed herself for slipping, her thoughts made her lose tract of where she was aiming. His quick movement towards her forced her to pull the trigger. She missed, he was fast, the bullet made a beeline passed the mutant and hit hard into the concrete wall, where the doors had been left open. The bullet embedded it's self into the wall, becoming a useless shot by the amazing Rayna. The woman would have cursed if she had seen where the bullet had went, but now she had her own problems to deal with. It was at this moment that time seemed to feel like it had slowed, death was coming to claim her. Wasn't this the part where ones life was suppose to flash before your eyes? Funny enough life seemed to agree with this fleeting though as Rayna was taken to her former life.
In a heart beat she was no longer worrying about the danger, in stead she had been blinded by a white light. She wasn't big on heaven or hell stuff but wasn't the white light meant for the good people? As if seeing it in person she saw war, a battle on a field. She did not know this place, never seen it in her life, yet here she was. She felt as if she had been there once before, and yet before she could think on it the place was gone. Once again she was back, back in the elevator, back in danger. So she was not meant to die yet? This was both a blessing and a disappointment. She was still in trouble, but this time things were different. She felt as if she was in two places at once. One she was in a battle, people yelling and calling to her. The other had the monster stopped, no slowed. She moved, freed the boy from danger, lifted his small frame with haste as she used the side bars of the elevator to climb up threw the hole in the roof.
Her gun was slung over her shoulder as she did her best to save both herself and the boy. She couldn't think, the rush was too great, the adrenalin pushing her, yelling at her to move, faster, stronger. Still she could hear combat, even though the vision was over she could still hear it. Her body and mind did not want to forget what she had witnessed. Her eyes were blurred and yet she did not question what she was dong as she pulled the second floor doors apart and entered the hallway. With time still at her side she placed the boy on the floor of the second floor and whipped around to face back into the elevator shaft. She did not even bother to aim, in stead she let off about ten shots into the opening. Hoping that did the trick she grabbed the boy and ran. Time had regain its pace, but Rayna was too worried with running down the stairs with a boy in her arms.
She had no clue on what was going on in the lobby but on she had turned the corner from the stairs she stopped in mid run. So this was why Lukas never answered her. She had to think quick, she placed the boy against the wall next to her and knelled. She readied her gun... but she did not know who to shot. "Lukas!?" She watched him lanch himself at on of those things. She would make a note to ask about the scortch marks, grass and purple glowing boy later. She would blame blurry eyesight for now.

TOUCH MUTANT | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
The touch mutant blinked once only to find itself in an empty elevator. The boy was gone and so was the woman. He hissed as he tried his best not to lose his temper. It was one thing to be immune to a genetic mutation that his whole life was now centred around but it was another thing to throw it in his why was she was immune. The gene based disease could not effect the same individual more than once. It was almost like chicken pocks. He should have expected her personal genetic mutation to kick in eventually. He had been outsmarted by a woman who had no idea what she was doing. Her past life made her immune to many things, it was unfair that he would have to hunt her down and destroy her.
He had no real idea why or how they escaped but he could feel the link starting to open. She had been identified, she was starting her own mutational process. The touch mutant almost respected her for being so daring, it was a shame he was no gentleman. He would persue her until his master told him to stop. He could easily feel where she had went, the disturbances in the materials could be sensed using his metallc hands. He climbed out of the top of the elevator and placed his hands against the cement wall trying to detect where she had gone.
He allowed his hands to grip into the cement causing it to crack before he started to slide down the elevator shaft. The cement cracked as he traveled downward, he could feel his hand heating up from the friction but this pain was nothing compared to his soon to be victory. He knew delayed gratitude was a gift that would be come in handy right about now. He could feel the cement giving way as he descended down the shaft. It was when he could hear the gunshots that a wild smile spread across his face.
He felt the sting of a bullet collide with his left thigh, another hitting the left side of his hip. He grimaced in pain as he continued to slide down the shaft. He bit his lip in pain as he tried not to shout out as the pain seemed to make him tense up. He closed his eyes, it was only when he felt more pain shoot up his legs that he knew he had landed. He slowly opened his eyes to see the blood dripping from his legs, the wounds slowly closing. The bullet was forced out of his skin with a small metallic clank. It was only when he slowly stood up tall that he could feel his tibia and fibula slowly starting to repair. The mutant blinked away his tears before saying a silent prayer to his master. Fate had chosen him for the mutation so he would honour it.
He was on the first floor, he pried open the doors of the elevator shaft easily. He walked out of the elevator shaft to see the women and the boy. The mutant wasted no time in charging. The mutant had enough of these games. He rushed towards the woman and the boy wasting no time, his pain from the bullets had gone along with his broken shin bones which were now fully healed. As he ran at the two mortals he easily lashed out with his metallic fist, catching Tobias by surprise. The mutant swung once more this time aiming for Rayna.

TOBIAS | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
Tobias had gone along with Rayna, she had saved him and he knew it. It was only when he turned to see the metallic fist slam into the side of his head did he realize this was when he died. He could feel the impact on his skull as his bone structure cracked. It was painless, he was dead before he could even feel the blow. His skull was clearly dented but Tobias remained unfazed. He could see his body but he could not feel it. He could see the horrific damage done to him but merely turned towards Rayna. He would never see his mom again but maybe this woman had a chance. His spirit walked over to the girl and hugged her goodbye. Although time seemed to have stopped for Tobias he knew that as soon as he turned towards the shimmering light he would never see earth again.
He walked over to the mutant, after trying to kick it in spite and failing he decided earth no longer needed him. He turned his back on the world, he needed to go visit his dad. The shimmering light seemed to engulf him as he started to walk towards it. His body remained just an empty shell as blood started to pool around the boy. He would have to wait exactly 35 years, 54 days before he saw his mom again. She would die of old age and his family would be reunited once more.

The sight mutant groaned in pain. He could feel his muscles contracting and convulsing in pain. He knew he should be in more pain but he could feel fate's influence as it tried to start to repair his skull first. The mutant could not see straight, his vision a mess of blurry colours. He could feel the fractures throughout his skeletal system as his body was leaning against the cement wall that moments ago he had collided with at high speeds. He grimaced in pain as fate had healed one of his neurons, the pain was excruciating. He started to whimper as his body slowly started to repair itself. He could feel his crippled body attempting to stay alive, his body was dying faster than fate could repair him. The process was excruciating, the pain unbearable as he convulsed himself into a ball. The twitches every so often a bone mending itself or an internal bleeding site closing.
He needed time to heal, he was claimed. He could feel their energies have increased but he had no real idea what to do. He lay on the floor crippled, the chunk of earth still sticking out of the ground, mocking him. It was in this weakened state of mind that he spoke his first words as a mutant. "Kill me" His words were weak, blood pooling out of his mouth as fate tried to continue healing him. Fate was healing his sensory nerves first as punishment for his failure. Tears escaped his eyes as he could feel every ounce of pain as his body went through the process of healing itself.

HEARING MUTANT | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
The woman cried in pain as she felt the heat engulf her. She could feel every flame try and engulf her sanity. The heat was sudden, the girl clawed at her flesh as it heated to ungodly temperatures. She could feel her skin start to bubbles and then char. Her third degree burns were unbearable. In once instant her personal hell was gone. She crumpled to the ground, she felt no pain anymore, her nerves were gone along with most of her body. She couldn't even smell her own singed flesh.
Not knowing what to do she attempted to bring a hand up to her ear. The effort was futile, her body refused to move, she had severe third degree burns. She could feel fate start the process of healing her but as she heard the man start to electrify her she knew it was over. She was already too weakened to carry on but fate did not get the opportunity to heal her. She did not react to the electrification, she knew her metal ears had melted to the point of no return but yet it was the only sense she could depend on. She could hear the energy rippling through her, she could not feel it. She could hear her body convulse with the energy that coursed through her veins but could not see it nor could she feel her body moving. The only thing she could feel was the moment fate released her from it's grasp.
Her body crumpled to ash in seconds, fate had given up on her. Her human life had vanished, it was suppose to be replaced with the promise of an uprising but yet the only trace of her was the ashes that sat on the floor. She had given up her life in a heartbeat to accept the mutation but now she was nothing. She was ash. She was dead.

If you have any questions, PM fate. Please note a loss does not mean death. Be creative. The group may NOT interfere with the touch mutant as the numbers have already been generated with only Rayna and the mutant. This also means Rayna may not interact with the group. Residue will be posted at the end of the event as well as everyone's roles in this event. You guys have been a great group to start the site off with. Please not that residue points are now worth what they should be worth. Fate is active on the site so try and earn your residue fair and square since small amounts of residue may not yield great prizes like it has in the past. | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 500px; height: 35px;] |

The scene had shifted dramatically around him. What was once a loosing battle, now seemed over. HE carefully got to his feet and looked around. They were in a dishevelled ruin of a law office. Out of the ground stood a huge pillar of stone. Around him were several other people; a young boy, a man with red hair, and an unconscious woman. There was also a cyborg lying in the corner. Moments ago it had been wanting to tear the life of out Lucas, but now the roles were reversed, and it was this thing that was in a weaker state. Lucas cracked his knuckles and strutted over to the monster, using the same form he would on stage.
It was obviously in pain, and would be easy enough to deal with. Lucas' face darkened over when the monster spoke. Well, that solved that question. He brought his foot up, aiming to smash the man's skull in... but he couldn't, something inside him told him there was still hope. Like grass growing through concrete, or a flower bud pushing though the snow, there was always hope. He bent down in front of the mutant and shook his head solemnly. “I can't kill you.” He winced as he heard the pops and snaps of the man's body healing. “Everyone here probably thinks I'm crazy, and you probably do too. But I still believe there is a way to save you.”
He stood up and looked at the young man, the one who had dealt with tie lady with the mouth. “Come here a moment. Can you do anything for him, like you did before?” He asked, his head held high and his gaze steely. He looked back at the mutant and smiled, but not the way one would smile at an enemy before defeat. It was a smile between friends, between a doctor and a patient. He knelt down and gingerly placed a hand on the man's shoulder. “It's going to be ok.” He said, guessing that what he wanted in this sort of situation would be somewhat universal.

He watched all that was going on around him in the lobby. There was an unconscious woman at his feet. A dead monster over by one of the other men. And a crushed yet painfully healing monster over by the wall. There was a commotion over by the elevator as well, but his attention was called away when someone else called for him. He looked up again, trying to quell the trembling in his body. He walked over to the ridiculously buff man calling him over. The one from just a moment ago, he told his mind to take note. The one that had suddenly been surrounded by grass and a rock.
"Um..." Could he do anything to help the monster? Why would he even want to help it? The woman changing back had been a fluke! Plus, he wasn't even sure if it had been the taser or the purple glowing stuff that had fixed her. Especially since the other guy had seemed to kill the other monster when he tased it. No, the best way to deal with this was to kill it. The monster didn't ask to be helped either. It wanted to be killed. That was probably the best way to go. There was no guarantee his bones would heal the instant he was turned back. What if he stayed that way? Wouldn't that be an even worse fate than dying?
Glancing around, Will spotted the fire extinguisher that had been tossed aside and forgotten near the beginning of all... this. Whatever you wanted to call what was going on here. Walking over to it, he picked it up, then moved back to the monster. "...better this way," he stated, then swung the extinguisher up and smashed it down over the monster's face. He winced, trying not to look at what he was doing, then repeated the action. He watched as everything began to fall around him, and quickly stepped back from the one that had been after him before - which was very quickly turning into dust. Very lovely. Confident he could turn, he twisted around to face the other two males nearby, to find their own monstrosity writhing in pain as well. He had to resist rolling his eyes at the blind optimism of the much larger of the two - whom he immediately dubbed Slim in his mind. Before he could say much of anything, however, the short one - whom he dubbed Shrimp - grabbed an extinguisher and took it to the monster's head. He didn't even flinch at this. "If you want to help him, trust me that's the better way to do it." he stated calmly, but before either of them could even really take much notice of him, he started to turn away - and as soon as he turned to the stairs, there stood Rayna, toting, of all things, a kid with her.
"Amazing timing there Ray." he called across to her after she'd shouted at him, pressing two fingers to his temple and giving her a lazy salute with them, smirking a bit. Obviously, he was feeling a lot better now that something wasn't attempting to rip him apart. He kept the taser is one hand and the bent switchblade in the other, though - just in case. He wasn't stupid. "I'm going to assume you didn't make it to the second floor so I guess it's my turn to try, eh?" he asked her as he started to walk over to her - and as if on cue, another…thing came ripping through the elevator. Oh. Great. He wasn't dealing with another one. Rayna's turn. She'd be fine - the huge rifle in her hands told him that much.
"Good luck then!" he said, and before he could be noticed he darted up the stairs Rayna had just arrived from, taking them two at a time, attempting to pull his phone out of the depths of the inner pocket of his blazer as he did so. He made a frustrated sound and ended up tossing aside the knife in his hand, sick of trying to maneuver around it. It was borderline useless anyway. Rayna was going to bitch he just knew it. Right as he was about to reach the second floor, the door to the stairwell flew open and lo and behold - there was their dearest Quinn Markoff. Trying to escape. Lukas smirked and gave him a small waved - which was met with a small, very shakily held handgun held to his face. He didn't even blink - just kept his smug expression. "That's not smart. I'm not really in the mood to be amiable." The lawyer scoffed at him nevertheless.
"They want me alive to know what information I have. Don't give me that shit. I know you just want to get out of this building alive, so why don't we just-" "I hate that attorney bullcrap, honestly" With that, and a kick to the man's kneecap, the gun was dropped, and Lukas kicked it idly away, where it slid down several of the steps. He was quite surprised it didn't go off. Ignoring the man's pained noises as he held his knee, Lukas idly dialed 911, asking for an ambulance to be sent for the others downstairs. Let the local law enforcement deal with this shit - he certainly didn't want any part of it anymore. As soon as he was done with that call, he made the more important one, to his uncle - which was a very carefully-worded message (this was his phone that could be tracked, after all - he dare not call Kravec or say anything directly on it) that was an obvious message to get a van down here, as well as hinting a clean-up crew to at least sweep the area would be quite nice. It was nice when Vasha was as much of a bulls hitter as he was - he was able to figure out what Lukas really meant behind what was actually said.

Rayna couldn't even begin to piece together what had been going on while she was gone. The only thing that really crossed was her mind was relief that the battle looked to be over. She almost felt regret in not being around to enjoy the fun, but she had deal with enough in that mess of an elevator. These things, all she could gather was that they were not human any more and.. were no working alone. That fact bothered her more then the mutants themselves.
It was bad enough that they were so much different then a normal human but they had changed within seconds. Someone.. or something was behind this and Rayna wanted to know the answers to all the questions that haunted her mind. Who or what, why and how, she couldn't help but think that something.. non-human was going on. Rayna wanted to laugh at her own thoughts, she would need a good drink after all this was said and done.
She lowed her gun and relaxed as Lukas walked passed her. "Not yet-" Her words were cut off at that damn thing from the elevator came bashing through the shaft doors. Really? Didn't she use a whole ten or so rounds back up stairs? "You have to be fucking with me." Was all that escape her lips as she lifted her gun once again for the second time that day, a new record on her part. Her brain clicked, nine shots left, she needed to make these count. The only fault with being a sniper was the seconds it took to kneel and aim.
That was when the monster caught the boy, she had completely forgotten him. She knew he was dead before the mutant even touched the child. Rayna was used to death, used to children dying, but there was normally a good reason. This kid.. She slipped in here thoughts and shot two rounds at the thing. Dead or not the kid had been a good distraction, if she lived she would make sure to at least find the kid's mother and let her know what happened.
In only a moment her gun was knocked out of her hands, cause her right wrist to strain at the odd movement. It was not broken, but sure hurt like hell, maybe a sprain, sadly the least of her worries. Yet not she was weaponless, she braced herself for impact. There was no way she could move away in time, if she was lucky sh just might get an opening to cause some damage after taking some.

His body was just a carcass. It was a shame he didn't get to bask in the glory of killing the child. He felt the pain as the bullets entered his right shoulder followed by another bullet shot in his right arm. He cried out in pain as he could feel the bullets rip apart muscle layers. Normally it might have hit and shattered a bone but thankfully for his resistance to physical attacks his bones were never reached. It didn't matter, Fate would heal his wounds anyway. He lashed out instinctually, although he knew he had missed his target as soon as he flailed he knew it was no his fault he had missed. Fate had selected its target, he could feel fates influence as his arm was redirected mid swing by his master.
His metallic fist was suppose to be a punch to the chest, thanks to fate he barely grazed her ribcage. He still felt the contact of his fist collide with her ribcage and heard the crack as a rib broke under his fist. He hissed in dismay, knocking the gun out of her hands rather fast as he did not want any further pain. He could still see his wounds, the pain was not subsiding, blood continued to pour out of his wounds. Fate had left him, he could feel it. The metallic smell of blood reached his nose. Fate had left him. He couldn't get over the fact his master had abandoned him. He grimaced in pain, he was suppose to be winning. The wounds were slowly opening wider, more blood trickling from his wounds. It was in this moment that the mutant felt the metal from his hands slowly melting. He looked down in dismay as there was growing puddle of metal at his feet. The mutant was dying, fate was killing it.
The mutant looked at Rayna in fear and desperation. His hands were no longer covered in metal but appeared to be bloody and broken. He quivered as he continued to bleed from his wounds, he was no longer a mutant. He could feel his human emotions creeping up on him, the desire to live. He was quickly forgetting anything he remembered about his master. He actually wanted to help this girl but he knew it was too late. He collapsed to the ground, his blood now mixing with the puddle of liquid metal. He had no real time to even remember who he was. His heart slowly stopped as fate destroyed him. He was no longer required. [/style] | [atrb=vAlign,top][style=margin-top:5px; width: 90px; font-family: georgia; font-size: 10px; text-align: center; font-weight: bold; background-color: #2a2a2a; color: #ebebeb; text-transform: uppercase; padding: 3px;]MARKED[/style] | [atrb=vAlign, top][style=width: 305px; margin-bottom: 10px; text-align: justify; font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10px; padding-left: 5px; border-left: 1px dotted #ebebeb;]The puddle of metal slowly started to change shape. From a motionless puddle it slowly started to take the shape of a floating orb. Rayna would make the perfect lure. Her potential power was tremendous it would draw the fates to their deaths. The metal orb shot towards Rayna. The metal splattered across her torso in burning heat. It singed whatever it touched, the metal would mark her for its master. It was only when the metal dried to her flesh that it was done. Although the metal pieces could be removed rather painfully by Rayna the black dot on her right palm was permanent. She was marked and she would forever be marked. The girl would be the perfect bait.[/style] | [atrb=vAlign,top][style=margin-top:5px; width: 90px; font-family: georgia; font-size: 10px; text-align: center; font-weight: bold; background-color: #2a2a2a; color: #ebebeb; text-transform: uppercase; padding: 3px;]SIGHT MUTANT[/style] | [atrb=vAlign, top][style=width: 305px; margin-bottom: 10px; text-align: justify; font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10px; padding-left: 5px; border-left: 1px dotted #ebebeb;]The sight mutant cried out in pain, he could still feel his master repairing his body. His metallic eye continued to scan the humans around him. He gazed at the boy who apparently could save him. He almost laughed, none of them had any idea what they were doing. The mutant slowly rose to his feet, his bones still slightly out of place. His skin was recovering before their eyes, the brushing that had started to appear was quickly correcting itself, the pale skin colour was slowly gaining more pigmentation until it returned back to normal. He nodded towards the mortals, he could feel fate working its magic. He had witnessed every other mutant either die or be cursed back to humanity. He was the only one remaining. Even the touch mutant had perished as Fate has released him from its power.
The mortals around him appeared to be useless. The ginger haired man was dense as a stick. He had asked to be killed but mortals had compassion which would be their downfall. The mans words were easily ignored, if he thought he was a saint he was far wrong. He had denied a warrior his death in battle. He smiled as the other boy with the quickly fading purple aura smashed a fire extinguisher across his face. He could feel the bones break in his face as blood gushed out of his nose. He smiled slightly, at least the mortals had tried. He cracked his neck simply as he looked at the mortals. His body was beaten badly but he would live to see another day. None of these claimed mortals knew the power they possessed.
The touch mutant brought his hand to his nose and realigned it with a snapping noise. The pain he was going through was excruciating but he could feel that he would not die today, even if he had just begged for it. He slowly shook his head. "You have no idea what you all have gotten yourselves into." With that he popped he popped his knee cap back into place with a grimace. He was healed, he knew he was. He could still feel pain as fate was still repairing him but his body was mobile. He smirked slightly before bolting towards a glass window. He wasted no time in tucking his head into his body and charging through the glass doors. The glass rained down on him as it shattered into a million pieces. He could hear sirens in the near distance. The police would never believe what had happened. With a smile across his face the sight mutant ran as far as he could, tears rolling off of his face as his body was still healing itself. Fate would pick him up in a couple moments and he would be reunited with his master. William watched as the mutant simply shook it off, fixing its nose as it stood there. He watched as it jumped out of the window, taking off to who knows where, its words echoing around in his head. He watched the shattered glass clatter to the floor. The sound of sirens fast approaching the building snapped him out of whatever daze he'd fallen into.
Hands shaking out of control, William dropped the fire extinguisher, feeling nausea flare up at the bloody imprint it left on the floor as it rolled away. He looked down at himself, and blinked in confusion. The purple glow was quickly disappearing. One more blink, and it was gone completely. Had he... just imagined all that? Something with his eyes going funky? With transforming mutants everywhere, both possibilities weren't that much of a long shot. Neither was him going completely crazy. He certainly felt like he'd lost all his marbles in one go.
Breathing fast, he glanced around the lobby. Crazy mental breakdown? Best not to have that here in the middle of the lobby, surrounded by people, and soon the police, his mind warned him. In the safety of his own dorm room, where he could proceed to convince himself he had imagined it all? Much preferable. He would rather be going crazy than actually face that all of this had just happened. That people turning into mutant monsters bent on killing him and others was a reality. Crazy. Please, please, let him be crazy.
Without a second glance around him, William headed for the doors of the office building, walking out of them and down the street towards the college. The mutants words echoed in his head. Had he gotten himself involved in something? No, no he hadn't. Other mutant creatures weren't going to be coming after him, because he hadn't just been glowing purple, and he hadn't just seen other people using unexplainable powers, and he hadn't just fought off mutated employees. He was simply going crazy. Right. Crazy. Lucas was completely flabbergasted when the youngest man picked up the fire extinguisher from earlier. He winced as the man was about to strike the mutant, cringing as he heard the crunch. He drew in a sharp breath, waiting for the second strike, but it never came. Instead was a laugh. Lucas looked at the mutant as it stood up. Lucas stared at it walked away. “Gotten into...?” Lucas didnt really have time to think it over, as suddently he felt a sharp pain in his side. Oh right the punch... the pain was starting as the adrenaline wore off. Lucas swayed on his feet, his knees buckled and the big guy went down.

It still made contact and hurt like hell, but it could have been worse. There was no way to explain the pain but she had felt it countless times before. The feeling of a broken rib was something she became used to in her past. Back when a daily beating was done right before dinner, and if she took the beating well she got to eat. Needless to say the beginning of such training left her hungry on most days. Rayna staggered back and watched as her bullets finally made a impact on the creature before her. Was it finally over? Did she win? All she could do was watch as he slowly suffered. Good, he deserved to die after all the hell she had to go through today.
She said nothing as she just watched, there was no way to explain what she saw, or at least what she was sure she was seeing. The metal that had once covered the man, now melted off like a melting bar of chocolate. As the man turned back to human Rayna just ignored his last moments. She moved to pick up her gun and winced as she bent to pick it up. Turning to the man she took a second to make sure he was really dead, with a few kicks to the body she dubbed him dead for good.
Yet what happened next was unexpected, the puddle of metal moved as if it had a mind of its own. Turning into a floating orb Rayna cursed one more time that day. What now? A new monster? She knew enough about video games to winder when she got to level up before fighting the final boss. The orb shot at her and the impact knocked her off her feet. She slammed onto her back as the burning heat was quick and left her before she could piece together what was happening. She leaned up and looked at the mess the orb had left her. Just barely under her ribcage was these pieces of metal that had melded their way onto her skin.
Her closes had managed to take quit the beating but this was worse. It looked at if she had been burned, but her skin was fine, well without counting the metal shards. Great well now she just looked like a mess, she had to cover this new problem and deal with it later. She stripped right then and there, both her jacket and shirt.. or what were left of them. She took the undershirt and ripped in it into a few lines and tide them together till she had a bit of a line. Then she rapped her torso to cover the metal. She hissed at the pressure the new "wrap" caused on her broken rib. With that done she walked over to the women that had been passed out from earlier.
She didn't need her nice work jacket did she? Rayna needed it more since she was a bit more exposed. She pulled the jacket off the woman and put it on. A little big, but it would do the job. She button just the top most of the jacket and sighed. The sound of sirens was enough to drive her mad just then and there. She ignored the pain from her chest and grabbed her gun. This was one of her favorite ones too, never the less it had to go. She dismantled it in record time and tossed it into the open elevator shaft, along with her ear piece.
She took a few steps and the dropped to her knees, boy was she tired. That was when all the noise started. Talking and chaos as the paramedics and police came in, in what Rayna would call a panic. They rushed to those that were on the floor, either passed out of dead. She heard a few police pigs discuses what could have happened. Rayna wanted to laugh, even if they were told the truth none of them would ever believe it.
She watched as some medics carried that redheaded big guy out on the stretcher, wow they worked fast after all the danger was out of the way. One medic came over to her and started asking questions. Where was Lukas? It came to mind that she would have to plat stupid blond while he wasn't around to get her out of there. She really hated parts of the job like this. "OMG, thank goodness you are here! The building shook and I can't remember anything else." The man looked her over, asking questions ever five seconds, she really wish that she still had her gun.
She would have been able to get away from going to the hospital if he had not touched her side. She hissed in pain, by that time another medic showed up.. this one not too friendly. The older man pretty much dragged Rayna to the ambulance, she didn't even get time to tell Lukas anything.

Normally, he wouldn't have to worry about the mafia arriving before authorities and getting everything cleaned - but today, they'd had no warning, and the last thing they expected Lukas to need was clean-up in a simple negotiation and potential retrieval job. Funny how that worked. He knew he was pushing it close, and he really hoped they'd make it in time. He watched the man writhing in pain on the ground boredly, waiting for some sign from his associates, drumming his fingers against the taser in his hand boredly as he did. Several minutes passed, with nothing but the sound of Markoff shuffling and making pathetic noises from the brutal attack on his kneecap. Lukas took the fact the building had yet to shake or emit any terrible sound from the floor below as a good sign.
However, his good mood began to deflate as he heard the distant sirens, and he knew two things were now in his hands - one, making sure Markoff didn't make it to the authorities (as he was now categorized as a threat…you generally don't point guns at people you consider allies, after all), and making the quickest, most impromptu cleanup he could. He probably had about a minute and a half before people would be spilling into the building - that didn't give him much time to do all the shit he needed. He'd have to make due. "Time's up, they aren't here. You're not going into the cops' hands man, sorry 'bout that." he told the man still disabled in the floor, his voice completely devoid of the sympathy he was 'giving'.
Just as emotionlessly as he stated it, he bent and grabbed the attorney's suit to pull him up - which Markoff immediately attempted to fight him, but Lukas simply pulled, and quickly slid his fingers around the man's slightly pudgy neck. There was a quick, desperate "No please, don't, I won't say anyt-" which was silenced by a sharp jerk of Lukas' arms and a loud snapping noise. He released the body carelessly, it falling to the linoleum with a soft thump, and the assassin wasted no time in starting to head back downstairs as the sirens grew extremely close. He was going to get bitched at a little bit for killing him, but better that than the rouge attorney taking plenty of interesting cases he'd had to the police. As far as Lukas was concerned, the potential leak was dealt with, and if they didn't like it, tough.
He bent and swooped up the gun of Markoff's that had fallen, as well as making sure to gather up the switchblade he'd tossed to the ground in his haste to get his phone, stashing both the blade and the taser in the inner pocket of his suit. The gun was hooked into his waistline at his back - it wouldn't be there long, as soon as he got a place to dispose of it, it would be gone. So long as he didn't lift his blazer or bend over, however, it would be hard to see. He'd take to leaning against the wall of worse came to worse - it would be a good enhancer to play the act of innocent bystander, anyway, bracing himself against a wall…he already had it in his mind a story to spin the authorities if he couldn't get out of the building in time. He removed the earpiece he had and stuffed it into his pants pocket, as well - that was just a bit suspicious.
He did his best to flatten his hair out so it didn't look like he had been doing anything exciting, and resisted any winces from the slight twinges his side gave him now and again. That was gonna be one hell of a bruise. He came around the corner of the stairs, and as soon as he saw the hint of uniforms that were starting to spill into the building at an alarming rate, his face morphed - apprehension mixed with fear, and he made sure the way he walked reflected it - tentative, as if he could hardly believe they were here to save them. While he put on this act, his gaze darted around - one kid was gone, ran off he assumed, all muscles no brains was on the floor, he assumed passed out as there was no sign of blood near him. When his eyes turned to find Rayna, however, he felt his stomach drop a little.
He wasn't going to lie to himself, he felt guilty when he saw her on the floor, obviously injured. He'd left her in confidence that she'd be okay…now he felt as if he'd been there to help her, she wouldn't have been hurt. 'It had to be done. We couldn't ignore Markoff.' he told himself firmly, glancing away from her quickly before any of the paramedics rushing in - or the cops that were beginning to mill near the doorway and chase away civilians - could draw the connection between himself and the blonde woman. She'd know to pretend to ignore him, he was sure. It didn't stop the small guilt trip, though - he'd left her with that thing, and now she was going to be toted to a public hospital to boot…that was never fun.
He had something to distract himself soon enough, though. Before the cops could fully come into the building (and while the paramedics were busy carrying Rayna and Slim to the ambulances), he slid over to the ripped open elevator shaft, grabbed Markoff's handgun with his sleeve pulled down, rubbing any fingerprints off hastily, before it was tossed carelessly down the shaft. It would be a long time before they found it - plenty of time for Kravec to send in a cleanup crew to get them, and anything else they missed. It was about thirty seconds later that the hell of being bombarded with questions began.
The assassin played the part of a terrified intern who had been on the second floor the whole time but heard all sorts of awful noises from the floor below, but was too terrified to go see, for the next forty minutes. He also managed to put in a part about hearing a horrible noise in the stairwell when one of the men ran out, pretending to be completely oblivious to him being dead. He was as vague and irritatingly fidgety as possible, so they'd leave him alone. Eventually, the cops let him be, saying they'd give him a little while to calm down. They even went out of their way to get him a pepsi to 'pacify him', which he took without complaint.
As soon as they 'left him to relax', however, he was gone - just like that. Funny how easy it was for him to slip away - but between the chaos of all the vehicles outside (which now included the fire department as they secured any fire hazards), and the crowd that was gathered to see all the mangled bodies be toted out (that was exactly the reason they all gathered to see, and everyone knew it - they just didn't admit it), he had a lot of cover to work with. And not too far from said crowd was a sleek black car, which Lukas slid into without any question. "Mr. Ivanoff has informed me that you are allowed the rest of the day off, sir. They will take care off whatever else is here. Would you like me to take you home, or…?" "Take me wherever the nearest bar is, would you?" 'I fucking need it…'
