Korra tilted her head at how flustered Joze got from the praise still, it amused her and made her want to tease more but in the end decided against it turning her attention back to the stone debris she was carving out and grinding down. Slowly wearing more and more away until she finally broke through the bowl shape in two places that resembled eye holes, Korra finally began adding detail to the small piece of debris while she corrected Joze.
"It is true. I'm not saying you should sign up for a modeling agency, yet, but you have a good frame and style for people who want to capture every day beauty, or that cuteness people take for granted."
Korra explained, thinking that Joze might be thinking model in the typical sense, someone who walks up and down the runways and poses in almost no clothes for magazines. Instead, Korra meant the type who would stand still for painters or photographers with no brand designation. It wouldn't be weird for someone wanting to use someone young for something artistic, it wasn't like it was based off sex appeal like fashion might have been.
Even so though, Korra let go of Joze's concern and continued with the piece in her hand. At the question that Korra would still be able to see it though, she shook her head in response. Korra had the intention of letting nobody else, herself included see her face when it was finished. Sifting gouging out some of the thicker bottom portions of the bowl like shape, giving it smooth wave like plates similar to the armor the knight wore.
"No, not even I'll see it. After I finish, nobody will be able to see that face, only the few who manage to watch me work here will be able to know."
Korra explained putting her hand into the bowl and holding it beside her own head for Joze to see what she was making. Staring back at her from Korra's hand was a knight's helmet, with eye holes and a few other holes for the knight to see if they shifted their gaze on the battlefield. It would be difficult to see through from the outside without getting intensely close to peer directly through it, even then, there would be nothing but shadow inside, only an occasional ray of light will reveal one or two small features that would be difficult to place on another face to recognize Joze. Going back to detailing it though, Korra continued talking while she worked.
"My name is Korra, Korra Quinn. I'm the owner of the "Harlequin" brand that features various potteries, decorations and figurines, I have a small corner at Wayward's Gallery in down town for my works, but you can also see a few of my pieces around town like this, you'll know it's mine from the plaques."
Korra explained giving a brief description of who she was and what she did, none of it intensely personal because she didn't really have anything else she did besides work and try to meet people to become more famous.
"Is it better now that you know my name?"
Korra asked wondering if anything truly changed from her introduction.

the weather today is slightly sarcastic with a good chance of a. indifference or b. disinterest Joze looked at her. Really looked at her. Scrutinizing her. Wondering if she really was a little out of her mind. Because everything she was saying made no sense. It was as though she was trying to appease her but at the same time being really contradicting of it. She just.. went with things as Joze suggested through her words what probably was the complete opposite of what she wanted. And Joze sort of hated that this woman was making compromise for her. Although yes, she sort of deserved the compromise seeing as it was her face, and her face there was not cool.
"I don't understand." Because, she didn't. Ignoring appearance and compliments that were undue, Joze focused on her main goal, which was ensuring the statue was not seen. By anyone. Not even her, or the sculptor, or anyone. In fact, she felt that urge to destroy like some irresponsible teenager who found glee in wrecking things. Which was not untrue in her case - she loved leaving destruction at her wake, although she didn't really want to be blamed for it. To be fair, she cringed at the fact that someone had worked so hard on so much detail and to lay a destructive hand on it was a sin but, wasn't that what made destroying things so fun? "You won't see it? No one will? But then, what's the point?"
Oh. Oh. Oh, okay. She could deal with that. A helmet. A helmet that made it impossible to see her face. She was actually very okay with this. Well, no. Joze was still a little bit pissed about the fact that her face was in the stone, and while no one was going to see it, why did she feel like her face had been thoroughly violated? It was certainly uncomfortable. If the statue ever got broken and the helmet fell off or something, people could be able to see the fact. "Uh... I guess... I don't know, I still don't like it." Was she supposed to like any of this? This woman was just crazy in general. She narrowed her eyes a bit. "Are you sure no one would see it? Even with the helmet, what if it gets knocked off or something."
To Joze, the best course of action was to get rid of it, but obviously this woman did not share her sentiments. And even as the woman introduced herself as Korra, in response to her inquiry about her identity, Joze felt as though it changed nothing, just that she could now stop referring to the lady who gave her sandwiches as 'that lady'. "I've never heard of you before, or your brand, or noticed any of your statues. A shame, you have very nice detail. And you're really fast, I thought it was supposed to take ages to just make one of these, but you're very quick."
What did Joze know about statue-making? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. But still, she appreciated whatever it was Korra did. Even if it changed nothing. "Josephine. And uh, no, I don't think it makes anything better. Depends on your definition of better. Maybe like a microscopic amount of 'better'. But we're still strangers, after all, all I know is your name and what you do." And it was still damn well strange to have some stranger carve your own face.

When she was asked what the point was, Korra tilted her head as if puzzled by the question itself. She couldn't even begin to explain that in a rational way that a normal person would be able to accept. It was a matter of pride, an artist's spirit, there were a number of silly things that came together to form the reason why Korra chose a helmet over altering the face. To change a detail that important was like an admittance of failure! and Korra wouldn't have that, not for one of her pieces that she'd put together in public.
She wanted to respect Joze's choice while at the same time not crippling herself.
"There will be a face underneath this mask, it's a knight, and not a hollow suit of armor. I wouldn't give it a blank and empty silhouette just because I think there's no chance someone will see it, it will give a sense of mystery, people may try to find out who the knight is, looking through the helmet's eyes to try and see some of the knight's features. Even if they only see a small speck, not enough to guess who it is, it may help get people excited about investigating."
Korra commented, though at the comment of it being knocked off, Korra couldn't help exhaling where she couldn't laugh or chuckle well. The meek smile on her face didn't properly show how amusing that thought was. It was too funny to think that a piece could be so easily knocked off one of her statues.
Shaking her head in response simply, Korra finally finished the helmet setting it down on the statues' base before pulling her bag closer sifting through it once more.
"They have things you can add to correct mistakes in statues. If you crack off an arm or a finger, or if something gets damaged, you can restore it pretty easily. Of course, I don't look at this as a mistake, but I keep tools for situations like this."
Korra explained, it was a simple tube of epoxy that she pulled out but sometimes the strength of that glue was stronger then the stone itself. Turning it around, Korra had to look at the cure times simply because she's never had to repair one of her pieces yet, she wasn't quite sure how long it would take for it to strengthen. Going through quick motions of opening it up and applying it, she slipped the helmet into place to cover Joze's face appropriately, putting a bit of pressure onto it to make sure the glue had enough points of contacts, Korra let it set for a while dusting her hands off.
"It's okay, I've only been a professional for a short time after all, my brand's only recently taken off, though this is my second job this week, I like to think word's getting around little by little."
Korra said not really saddened or upset by Joze not knowing her, she knew she was still a little green in the notoriety department, she wasn't as well known or famous as she liked to claim but someday soon she hoped she would be as she does more and more work for the city.
At Joze's comment about it not being better, Korra thought a bit more wondering if more information made it better, at what point would someone stop being a stranger, Korra almost didn't really understand exactly how much it took.
"I don't really do much more then that, work, eat, sleep, wake up, study, work more. It takes a lot to make a living as an artist."
Korra explained in thought not really having much more to offer.

the weather today is slightly sarcastic with a good chance of a. indifference or b. disinterest Joze just watched, uncertain of what to do, uncertain of what she should do. Should she leave? From what she could see, from her limited knowledge, the statue was very close to being finished, and surely she could go now, right? She needed to get home, she really did. There was nothing she could really do aside from this... accidental modeling stint. It didn't count, there was no way she was having a repeat performance of this, not if she didn't get any money out of it. And she didn't think she was getting any money out of this. She got sandwiches though, which was just as good in this case. She really shouldn't have starved herself, though, that was a bad idea as per always.
Still, she did it anyways, because she packed a little extra stuff in her sister's lunch. Perhaps her sister was just a little bit spoiled. Maybe a lot. More than necessary, anyways, and it wasn't even due to their parents, it was because of her. In Joze's own subtle, little way.
She just sat tight. Watched her work. Without being too overbearing, because well, she guessed it was interesting. It was definitely new to Joze, anyways. Although, she did mention she was a professional, so she must be really good... No, she was really good. Even though she said it was for a short time, Joze was just having a little bit of trouble believing that. "It's absolutely breathtaking, I am sure you will have no trouble finding more people."
As long as she didn't, you know, accidentally a face on the statue again. That would probably be immensely helpful in trying to gather more revenue through statue making and sculpting and the sort. Joze was also not comfortable sharing information about herself, despite Korra's best efforts to try. "That's good to know. You might have noticed, I went starving for the day today, so your sandwiches really helped me out." Speaking of those, she had only eaten five of the pieces, right.
"Ah, yeah, I left two of them. I didn't want to eat them all, since they're technically your's, after all."

With only a rough breath, Korra nodded her head in agreement, she felt like it was a matter of time before she became more of a famous face and there were more people vying for her pieces. Though that came with a few problems by itself, between having to manage her materials to sculpt, the jobs, scheduling and book keeping, running her brand solo was still a difficult job for her even if she worked incredibly fast with her work.
"Thank you, I have some faith as well that things would work out."
She thought out loud suddenly patting herself down though her top didn't really need to be touched since it was just a standard swimsuit top, she sifted through her short shorts before finally finding the right pocket, trying to wriggle something out of it bit by bit, she pulled out one of her business cards she carried around with her, offering it to Joze.
It was a beautiful card, much like her work, it had a silver boarder with a floral pattern that Korra used to engrave a lot of her plaques, with business info all over the front, from her name to hours and other information to contact her for pieces, along with her section in Wayward's Gallery. Of course her brand's name "Harlequin" was in bold fancy print and easy to read. On the back was a simple, sweet and almost cute request to continue supporting her and her work, with a silver silhouette of Korra holding up a peace sign beside it.
"Just in case you want to see more of my work someday."
Korra said knowing it would be easy to find all of her pieces with her business card, though at the comment that Joze was starving, and her questions and issues with her family that Korra'd managed to absorb throughout their talk, she tilted her head in thought suddenly pegging Joze as someone who was poor.
"Or if you want to make some quick and easy money in the future, I have a few jobs young people could do."
Korra said, of course Joze had a nice face to use as a model for some of her pieces, but since Korra pegged her as someone who was shy, she wouldn't make that kind of offer, but instead as a middle man to find her work, it would be easy for anyone, young or old to just ask around and find Korra some work in the private sector.
Though hearing Joze mention she left two of them, Korra smiled meekly at the small kindness, even if it was Joze feeling guilty for taking some of them, or just some kind of code of honor not to be too dependent on others, it helped Korra to see her in a vaguely new light.
"You're actually pretty nice too, you could have eaten them all you know, or even taken them with you."
Korra said suddenly not sure if Joze would regret leaving them now that she admitted to being fine with her taking all of the sandwiches.

the weather today is slightly sarcastic with a good chance of a. indifference or b. disinterest Joze took a moment to examine the card, after taking it from Korra's grasp. A design that matched the delicacy of what she assumed finish product looked like. Although she was sure that finished product did not look much different than it did right now. Maybe she'd be done after a few finishing touches. It was better than she could imagine herself doing anyways, this business card made her feel perhaps just a little bit inferior. This was a professional (or just about), and Joze was just a high school student, still in her uniform. Still, as much as she thought the coast was clear, it was annoying to know that her face was there. Covered up, but still there.
She decided she should stop thinking about it, or it'll bother her for the rest of her life, or something. As long as that statue existed, that is. For some reason, Joze got the malicious thought to destroy it, destroy it and it'll be free from her mind. After all, it deserved to be destroyed for having her face on it, anyways. Still, it wasn't her's, and she did not want to add more to her mental track record of vandalism and arson. Perhaps it could be a mix of both - No! She couldn't think this way. It was a beautiful statue and Korra had worked hard on it - then again, the person who worked on the Hollywood sign probably worked hard on that too...
Nope. Joze picked up that thought and put it to the side. "Yeah, I'm sure I'd like to look at them again! Just... without my face on it." The little jab she couldn't resist, although Korra probably wouldn't appreciate it at all. However, the mention of money and easy in the same sentence together made Joze look her way, down at the business card, and back again. "What."
She couldn't exactly accept the proposal, she barely had time with testing coming up, and she already had a job that paid... well, she couldn't say it paid well, but it was better than some. And the job description wasn't bad, for dressing up like a maid and... being a derp. But she couldn't resist, after all, she said the magic words 'easy'. "What kind of jobs are we talking? And how much money?" Joze did not joke when it came to the prospect of money and business. Although she couldn't say she was the best, she latched on to any talk of money and wriggled her way to get either better pay or at least something worthwhile out of the arrangement.
"Wait... I could've eaten them all? I... uhhh, I can't take them now. I've had my share." Man, her pride was really getting in the way of what she wanted, but she couldn't really help it. Better to just refuse now. So much regret.

Hearing that Joze would want to see them, Korra smiled meekly, appreciating the sentiment even if she couldn't really express how much it meant to her that someone would want to revisit her pieces.
It was always a welcome feeling to know people wanted to see her works again, though the sudden gear shift to the jobs and the money was something Korra vaguely expected. Though she was clearly more of an artisan then she was some kind of money throwing hotshot, she had enough to make sure people were properly paid for the work they did for her when the time came to look for help from others.
"Just simple things. You seem shy so a model probably wouldn't be the best job for you. It seems like you need your time though, so book keeping and money handling may be out of the question as well. Though advertising is important, if you can find me work I'll pay you a finders fee, simple, easy, you could just ask someone in passing every once in a while and tell them to look me up. If they tell me they were brought to me by you, I'll pay you a percentage."
Korra explained, of course the money she got from her jobs wasn't the important thing. To her it was all about the publicity, getting her name out there, becoming more well known, producing more work for more people everywhere. The more work she had, the easier it'd be to get even more work in the future until she was famous. Even if she didn't get paid much because she had to cut a sliver off for people who found the work for her, she would be fine living off her family's money until she did get to be famous. When the day came where her works would cost tens of thousands of dollars, if not more.
Letting her eyes slide over Joze one last time, giving her a cursory glance while she inquired about the work, Korra gave a simple nod.
"I'll cut you off a 80-20 revenue split, from small knickknacks that cost twenty or fifty or the big pieces like this one that range from a thousand to five thousand. That doesn't seem bad right? Getting money just for telling people to commission things from me."
Korra explained expecting Joze to be sold on the idea almost immediately, there wasn't really a more effortless way to earn money that Korra could think about aside from fixing the lottery.

the weather today is slightly sarcastic with a good chance of a. indifference or b. disinterest She just nodded along to what Korra was saying. Although she would certainly like an easy job, and she was willing to discuss what was okay and what wasn't, Joze was fairly certain that if she was to do work immediately, well, she couldn't. And that was just sad. She was unwilling to quit her maid cafe job, and school was too important to skip out on, homework or lessons. Although the job she proposed was a little, well, Joze was not exactly too receptive of the idea, even if it was easy. If there was anything that annoyed her the most it was advertisement, especially in this way. But she could feel Korra's sentiments a bit, after all, she needed an audience to be popular.
She kept it in mind, anyways. Besides, the way that Korra explained certainly made it sound like a lucrative job. Thousands of dollars - twenty percent of that was a lot of money for simple advertising. But she didn't have time now, she told herself, and she was going to be doing the thing that annoyed her the most. Besides, it wasn't like Joze was a very compelling person either way. She couldn't sell things very well. It was the uniform that attracted people to the cafe, she swore.
"There's- that's... that's a lot." She was mostly speechless now about it. After having just met, and she freaking out about her face, she was offering her a job? That made no sense at all, and Joze could only come that this person needed workers because there was no one else. And she was the alternative. But was it really a good idea to be proposing twenty percent of some project that could be five thousand?!
"I honestly don't know." Should she or should she not? "If I come to a conclusion, then, I suppose I've got to give you my contact information too, right?"

With a meek smile, Korra could feel the hesitation and the grips Joze was trying to come to terms with, though she couldn't seem to understand the struggle Joze was having, unaware of her family life or anything else, it seemed like an easy job just to give Korra's name out as a sculptor to random people, but then again, Korra had almost no shame when it came to that kind of thing.
At the mention of the money being a lot though, Korra gave a faint shrug at the very thought, she didn't quite see it the same as Joze did at least.
"It's not that much when you think about it. If you gave me a job, I would be earning money that otherwise wouldn't have existed. I'm technically not losing anything by giving you twenty percent, I'm only gaining eighty percent since I would just be sculpting anyway, I'm not losing anything except the time it takes for me to change settings."
Korra tried to explain the reasoning behind it. Though at Joze's concern about giving Korra her contact information, Korra just shook her head in response feeling like she didn't need it right then at least.
"You have my card, if you find some work for me, give me a call. I can either work things out with them and just give you your cut right then or you can give me your contact information whenever you feel up to trying and we can work it out then. This isn't something you have to fill out forms or documents for after all."
Korra explained, despite having those forms for employees to fill out, she didn't really think Joze the type to be looking for a permanent job, at least not with her. Instead an under the table job that was easy to earn quick money seemed more like Joze's style which Korra was eager and ready to support since it was less work for her at the same time.
"It's quick and easy, just give me a call and we can work everything out if you feel up to giving it a try."
Korra added with a meek smile.

the weather today is slightly sarcastic with a good chance of a. indifference or b. disinterest Despite the prospect of huge money, Joze was unwilling to outright accept - aside from time issues, she also had no idea about this woman, how she was as a boss, the like. It was out of the blue and sudden and kind of very suspicious. For what reason, the blond wasn't exactly sure, but it wasn't like people offered other people a job within an hour or two of meeting. And that was the situation here. Plus, she was perfectly fine with her current job right now. Sure, it didn't pay as much, but -
Well, she might be able to handle it. Although maybe after this school year was done, she might have a little bit more time. If she was honest, this school year had been nothing but trouble and frustration. Added on top of the shit that happened in April. And on top of that, the mysterious mansion snakes, well. Forgive her if she was more irate and at the edge of her patience all the time.
She needed a bit more time to think about it. And she was only going to think about it, she wasn't going to do anything stupid like trying to start the job while school was still in session. "I'll call you if I decide to do it, okay? I seriously don't have the time to take on the job anytime soon, and I've got another job to maintain too."
For some reason, it felt like Joze was throwing away a prime opportunity to make a lot of money, but she couldn't stress herself out more than she already was. In fact right this moment there were tense knots on her neck, and she hadn't got the chance to try to massage them out. And they sucked so much. She was looking very forward to summer, and hopefully by that time she could afford to relax a little more.
Or y'know, did what she always did, which was take on extra shifts at the cafe. "I'll try, though. That is, if you still need it by June. Which is probably around the time I won't be so busy." And to be honest, Joze might forget about this whole ordeal by that time

With only a meek smile and nod, Korra wasn't really out to pressure Joze or try and encourage her to join like she was recruiting for a talent agency. Rather it was a deal she would offer anyone who seemed like they needed extra income or had too much free time on their hands. Since everyone always seemed to want money and Korra only wanted work, it was an ideal thing she thought up one day when she was killing time at Wayward's arranging her pieces in her corner.
"No rush or pressure. Honestly, it's not something that would need that much attention, if you ever feel the need, just go for it whenever you feel."
She said, though monotonous, her words were carefree and indifferent, as if whether or not Joze decided to go along with it it wouldn't change much for Korra. She'd still be out sculpting and doing whatever she could to become more famous however she could. If Joze was too busy to work or didn't even want to give it a shot, Korra still felt it was nice to offer a business card so people could remember her name or at least know her brand's name.
"It's a job that will be open forever, you can quit, or give it a try whenever. It's not really something as hardcore as a legitimate job I guess, but it would pay as much as as the effort you put into it I think."
Korra said not quite sure herself if the deal was really profitable or not, but she did have a few friends from school already taking her up on this deal every now and then, it was the only reason she carried a cellphone these days.
Giving Joze one last nod before returning to the metal plaque she'd been trying to engrave before making the helmet. Already drawing designs in with her engraving pen, she continued while her eyes were focused down on drawing the boarder that matched her business card down to photoshop precision.
"You work very hard though, holding down a steady job even with school. I'm sure it'll pay off for you in the end."

the weather today is slightly sarcastic with a good chance of a. indifference or b. disinterest "Oh... okay then." Joze was not going to lie - she did feel a little bit disheartened. So Korra offered her a job, but the way she was speaking was as though she didn't care if she accepted the job or whatever? There was no emotion, it was indifferent. But apparently it was also carefree but Joze couldn't comprehend it being both carefree and indifferent, and that monotonous voice of her's drove her crazy. Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea to not work under her. Even if it was a job that didn't require going somewhere and talking with said boss, she wasn't sure if she could listen to that droning more than she did at school.
She'd fall asleep, she really would. Actually, Korra did remind her of a boring old man teaching history or something of the like. Topic was interesting, perhaps, but the tone was so bad that it just wasn't worth learning it. In fact, now that she thought about it, she couldn't remember anything about the knight and princess except what was apparently with the statue. And also that the knight was poor, just like she was, and she couldn't help but think that maybe she was plagiarizing her life? Unreasonable, she knew, but it lurked about in her mind anyways.
"Thanks. I try." Like hell, Joze knew that it was going to pay off in the end, if she didn't than why the heck was she even subjecting herself to this shit in the first place?! No, she went to school, and she went to her job, because she wanted a good future and she needed quick cash for her family. Sure, she saved up a little cash for herself. But once college came about, that was gone, as well as her financial life. Because it was so damn hard to get a scholarship. Her grades were above par, and she was taking a lot of classes, but even so she didn't think she could get a full-ride tuition. "Things are difficult, of course."

With a small smile, Korra simply nodded yet again at Joze's small response, though it seemed hesitant Korra couldn't quite understand the hesitation. It seemed like the greatest thing to Korra for someone who needed time and freedom, a job with no strings attached and decent pay. Though she didn't want to really investigate or dig any further into Joze's personal life then she already had. As much as she wanted to try to offer people relief and therapy through her work, socially she wasn't quite that skilled or adept at helping people like she wanted to be.
"It'll be nice working with you."
She said simply, though at Joze's comment about trying, Korra tilted her head glancing down to her plaque, to try and accomplish difficult things was the mark of being human, at least that was how Korra felt, and another subtle nuance that could be attached to her sculpture that stood behind her.
"It's alright. Have faith and keep your hopes up. It'll help keep your Karma in the right places."
Korra tried to offer advice while she continued engraving. Finishing the plaque, beautifully engraved with her business card's boarder and her brand's name written in fancy cursive text. The Title of the piece itself written as well; "Love Game" in smooth fluid characters. There were also subtitles written beneath those that read; "Have hope and faith to pursue other paths".
Finally finishing the plaque, she pushed the two bases together and attached the plaque at the point where they met giving it a unique yin yang appeal. Though with one last smile to Joze, Korra continued her work giving one last bit of advice with the hopes that she would have made Joze think a little about alternatives and keep her spirits up.
"Surely, even if things don't work out like you plan, nobody can hate a person who persistently puts forth effort for an overlying dream."
