Living Situation Tsuyu is a mathematics major at UCLA. He has no idea what he wants out of life but would rather go with the flow. His father is paying for much of the tuition but he does earn extra money by tutoring people. Whatever he does in the future, he hopes that it will be fun and exciting. He is currently considered upper class thanks to his father but the moment he graduates from college, the evil step mother is going to kick him out rendering him lower class. 02. Appearance Your character's physical description/notes. Not required. NOTE TO SELF: Add in later. Like when it's not the wee hours of the morning. 03. Personality [[EMOTIONAL]] Tsuyu is a person that is largely motivated by his emotions. Strong emotions such as fear, anger, happiness, etc. rather than logic are what he bases most of his decisions off of. There is no room for thinking out plans or controlling ones desires when his feelings hit a high. This causes problems for the people around him because Tsuyu is easily excitable and will rarely listen to what they say before running in head first to difficult situations. He is the type of man that would sooner jump into the fray then stand back and think that perhaps it might not be such a good idea, especially if it goes against what he believes.[[ETHICAL]] Well, kind of. Tsuyu has morals and values that he holds to be very important in life. He considers these to be proper behavior. Most of them stem from his days at the kendo dojo. They’re generally good morals such as no stealing, murdering, or bullying people. But being the person he is, he give himself leeway when he feels the need to hit someone. If the person deserved it, then his moral compass was still pointing in the right direction; he just used a more violent form of resolving things. [[EXPRESSIVE]] He is the type of person that wears his heart out on his sleeve. Not only does he base his decisions and actions off what he is feels, his expression and actions tend to be easily readable. This quality of his also therefore makes him easy to manipulate. He is also expressive in the fact that he speaks out and takes actions against what he finds wrong. He dislikes keeping himself locked up and would much rather let people know what he is feeling even if the truth can be harsh at times. [[DEPENDENT]] According to Tsuyu, he can take care of himself. According to friends and family, Tsuyu needs to be watched. Prior to college it was his twin brother that kept him on a leash. Now that they are separated, Tsuyu has no one to keep track of him. He does not need anyone to take care of him physically but there should be someone there to stop him from making stupid and impulsive decisions. Like the time he wanted to join the Running of the Bulls, or the time that he decided he wanted to raise ducks, etc. [[STUBBORN]] Unsurprisingly, Tsuyu has a stubborn streak that few people can break. He might be wrong and he might know it but it does not mean that he will admit it. He has his pride to uphold and is determined to remain stalwart about his stances. Tsuyu also forces himself to get things finished. If he started it, he will damn well end it even if it is incredibly difficult. Persevere, Tsuyu, persevere. [[COMPASSIONATE]] He has a side of him that is caring and could either be a good or bad thing. Obviously, compassion is always a positive trait for a human being to have. But then there were many times as a child where he would let the bullies get away with few scratches because he felt pity on them. In the end, they would come back with friends. Tsuyu ran during those times. [[ADVENTUROUS]] The thrills in life are what Tsuyu lives for. As a child, he was the type that wanted to go on adventures and become the hero. As an adult he knows that there are no such things as magic and heroes. There are, however, things like cave diving, sky diving, shark feeding, and a multitude of other fun things that he hopes to do before he dies. Tsuyu needs the adrenaline rush that he gets from risk taking in order to feel happy. He believes that otherwise life would be boring. [[SELF-CONFIDENT]] Tsuyu can be a pretty simple person. He is completely self assured. He is completely assured of his own success. While he cannot speak for other people, he believes that he can do almost anything. He does have his limits based on reality but he knows himself well enough to know what he can and can’t do. And the things that he can do, he believes he will succeed and beat all others. [[CALCULATING]] No, he is not calculating in the sense that he is smart or anything like that, if only he should be so lucky. He is just good at math for some odd reason. He can calculate certain problems in his head easily. More difficult problems he can do as long as he has a pen and paper in hand. Numbers just come easily to him unlike everything else. All the other subjects are pretty much a foreign language to him. He probably would have failed school had his brother not been there to help him. 04. History On a cold lonely night in the middle of October, Charlotte Shields had consensual sex with another man without using a condom. It was a one night stand and they parted the next day on amicable terms despite the fact that Charlotte had actually harbored secret feelings for the man while he was already married. Now, Charlotte was a shrewd business woman. At only thirty five years of age, she was already at the forefront of her company and on her way to a well deserved promotion. Unfortunately, because of that one night of passion, Charlotte ended up receiving the majority of the responsibility while the married man she loved was able to get away scot-free. When it was found out that she was pregnant, she was passed over for the promotion because it was anticipated that she would be on maternal leave and she was soon to become a single mother of two. The world is quite the unkind place. Charlotte’s luck in life only continued to worsen. She chose to assume responsibility and carry the children to term. But only three weeks before the twins were due, Charlotte boarded a plane to Japan for a business meeting that was only supposed to take a week. The meeting was supposed to be her last job then she would leave on maternity leave. Perhaps it was the stress or perhaps it was something predestined but on the plane ride there, Charlotte’s water broke. The twins were to be born three weeks early on a plane in the middle of the Pacific. The airline staff was equipped for emergencies but childbirth was clearly not one of them. They did their best for her but sadly Charlotte died in childbirth. The twins survived. The older twin was named Shou Shields while the younger one was named Tsuyu Shields by the staff aboard the flight. The two children were then brought to Japan until it could be decided what to do with them. Because they were born on a plane, and not within international boundary lines, it was decided that the children would assume the citizenship of whichever country took them in. Charlotte had no known next of kin and knew no one in Japan so there was nobody that could take in the twins. The only option left for them was to find the father. Charlotte left no clues in regards to the whereabouts of the father except for a poem found in her purse written for her loved one. In the poem she hinted at the man being a part of their company and an old friend but there was not much else. An old detective couple took pity upon the children and took them in. They decided that they would raise the children until the father could be found. And even if no father could be found, they were welcoming to the twins because their own children were already grown and had long moved out of the house. Growing up, it was obvious that they were different from the rest of the society they grew up in. Everyone else in their rural town had dark hair and dark eyes. The twins had platinum blonde hair and blue eyes. The people gossiped, citing how pitiful the children were. The other school children made them outcasts due to the differences in their appearance. It was not long before Tsuyu began getting in trouble at school for getting into fights. Shou was a bit better off because he was smart and had escape plans. Tsuyu being Tsuyu picked fights and fought them anyways. The old man that they had come to know as their adoptive father was rather disappointed in Tsuyu’s behavior. Deciding that he needed discipline, he was sent off to a nearby kendo dojo where with luck Tsuyu would get rid of his excess energy and learn some discipline. When Tsuyu arrived at the dojo he was once again ostracized for his appearance. As a result he needed to be separated from the rest of the students. Rather than teaching the child kendo, the dojo decided that they would place Tsuyu under the little known tessenjuitsu section of the school. On some level they had hoped that the hot headed Tsuyu would be embarrassed to be fighting with a folding fan and leave. Instead, the opposite happened. While learning tessenjuitsu, Tsuyu flourished. He was skilled with the iron folding fan and was sometimes even able to beat the older students. While under their guidance, he also learned lessons in morals and the way of life of the samurai. Tsuyu would not fight again unless in self defense. (It was better than before but still caused headaches for his parents who wished he would learn to stop fighting altogether.) One day, while the twins were in middle school, a call was received in their home. Their biological father had heard of them and been searching for them. He was married but had no children and his wife wanted children even if it meant another woman’s children. They had been searching for the father for years but could not find him and eventually gave up. The old couple loved the twins but could not fight against the biological father. So with blessings and promises to keep in touch, the twins were sent on their way back to the United States. When they arrived, their father welcomed them but they did not see each other much after. He did not really care for them but he did care for his wife. If his wife wanted children, he would tolerate them. His wife on the other hand, was a bitch of the highest degree. She wanted children but what she wanted was the perfect child. By that time, Shou and Tsuyu were already old enough to have their own beliefs and ideals but the woman still tried to mold them into what she considered to be the ideal children. They were punished for the smallest mistakes, Tsuyu especially. Shou was better behaved so the woman did not bully him as much. Tsuyu, on the other hand, got the brunt of it. Somehow, they were able to keep their mother’s maiden name. Shou had a theory that it was because it would be easier to disown them if need be. During high school, Tsuyu continued to practice tessenjuitsu while Shou continued to excel in school. When twins finally got through years of dealing with the bitch and got into college, they were overjoyed. They could finally get out of the house. They might have gotten into different colleges but they were close and promised to keep in touch just like they had been doing with the old couple all those years. Today, Tsuyu goes to college at UCLA as a mathematics major. He has no plans for life but feels that they will work out all the same. 05. Miscellaneous
