Living Situation There is no doubt that Venedict is considered a part of the upper class. He doesn't have a legal paying job nor does he need one. Assassins of his caliber are paid extremely well and stealing money from online targets is child’s play. However, those that do hire him rarely know how to properly encode data which is a huge security threat. For that reason, he holds a small position at the UCLA at the IT desk as a cover. Working at the college also provides him with a supply of chemicals for making bombs if he needs them on short notice. 02. Appearance Your character's physical description/notes. Not required. NOTE TO SELF: Add in later. Like when it's not the wee hours of the morning. 03. Personality Venedict is incredibly loyal. If you gain his approval, he will steadfastly remain with you until the end. However there is one entity that holds his devotion above all else: the Russian mafia. While he was not raised to be a soldier, Venedict has the mentality of one. Indeed, his devotion to do whatever it takes to bring success to the mafia has been permanently ingrained into part of his personality and, although he would rather not, he is willing to put his life on the line if it means that it will benefit the organization. Thankfully for him, his skills mean that he is much more useful alive as opposed to a corpse. When given a job that he actually finds interesting, Venedict will enthusiastically work until it is completed. He will become determined and will make sure that all of his bases are covered and that there are absolutely no loose ends. He’ll even do extra work on the project if there is something to be gained from it. On the other hand, Venedict has the attention span of squirrel. If the task at hand is boring or tedious, he’ll use the first chance he can get to finish the job without being sloppy. Interestingly enough, his lack of patience and slight laziness is actually beneficial because it means that he gets the job finished quickly. One of Venedict’s greatest flaws is his self absorbed personality. He is attractive, powerful, and intelligent, and is not humble or shy about it at all. He is incredibly arrogant and often times believes that most of the world, with the exception of his higher ups and those that he believes deserve his respect, will fall to his feet. The amount of people lining up to get into his pants does not help this mentality one bit. 04. History Venedict knows the history of his life, but the world will not. At the age of fourteen, Venedict had hacked into the Russian digital archives and destroyed all traces of a child once known as Venedict Alexeyovich Brin. But let us begin back at the beginning with Venedict’s toddler years. Venedict grew up without his mother, not that it mattered. His father was all the support that he needed. He was born in August of 1984 and raised in Volgograd, Russia by his father, Alexey Brin, a strong supporter of the Soviet Union and computer developer. Alexey Brin worked for the central government of the Soviet Union and had high hopes that his child would do the same. Children in Russia were not enrolled in secondary school until the age of six. But by the time that Venedict was four, he was already beginning to read and write in basic Russian. To Alexey, this was more than enough for Venedict to begin learning all about the miraculous new device known as the computer. When he was finally old enough to begin school, Venedict knew enough about computers to be able to identify all the key components of hardware. At six years old, he would go to school to learn the basic subjects only to return home where his father would be waiting with a new lesson on how to properly read machine language. His father was strict but caring and Venedict grew up in a rather kind home. But it was not to last. Two years after the Soviet Union was dissolved Venedict’s father lost his job in the government and became a radical. After years of propaganda, Alexey still believed in communism and he would do whatever it took to bring back the glory of the once powerful state, even if it meant training his son to take his place. Venedict was then pulled out of secondary school so that he could be home schooled and groomed to retake his father’s place in the government. The plan was to have Venedict infiltrate the Russian government so that the extremists could take it over from the inside. Gone was the loving father that he had once knew and in his was place, a tyrant extremist that forced Venedict to program or face the belt. Failure was not an option for the child if he wanted to be able to move without pain. Over the course of the next few years, Venedict learned. He could build computers, program software, and most importantly he could identify and hack into security systems. Pleased with his son’s progress, Alexey brought Venedict before his comrades. As a test, he was to hack into the security system of a military storage. Venedict did as he was ordered and passed with flying colors. The extremists were pleased. They now had the materials necessary to make explosives. He soon became a regular at these meetings where they made bombs and discussed plans to take down the Russian government. Venedict was included but not a member, never a member. If their plans were to fail, Venedict was to be the fall guy he just did not know it yet. This particular group of radicals was not incredibly intelligent. Fueled by their hate and impatience, they became sloppy. On one night during one of their raids, Venedict was left alone in the hideout to make sure the security system was down. That same night, the Russian military performed their own raid and found pre pubescent Venedict alone. Venedict was loyal. He did not give up any information on his father or their group. Needless to say, he was charged in children’s court and sent to children’s prison. His father was nowhere to be found. The Russian mafia soon caught wind of Venedict’s abilities. It’s not every day that you find a thirteen year old boy who can hack a government security system. They sent their contact within the prison to recruit Venedict. Within a few months of being incarcerated, Venedict was free and indebted to the Russian mob. At first he was reluctant, what should happen if history repeated itself and the mafia abandoned him like his father had done? But placed under the care of Mikhail Durov, another computer expert, Venedict would soon come to find that it was different. The benefits and rewards that Venedict received for performing made him join. The power and respect made him stay. He started out with small jobs and gradually rose in the ranks until he was one of their top hackers. Unlike when Venedict was working to save himself from beatings, he was now working to prove himself. Under the watchful eyes of the mafia, Venedict’s skills were honed to near perfection. He was also able to pick up other useful skills such as the ability to create perfect identification and plant information when necessary. The one moment that would launch him to the status that he is at now was when Venedict turned eighteen. Venedict is a hacker, someone who worked off the field. He was not a murderer, yet. In 2002, Venedict received a job to collaborate and work with an assassin to annihilate members of a rival group. The assassin would infiltrate while he took care of security. The job was to take place at at some fancy hotel on the outskirts of St. Petersburg. But even the best plans have their faults. The assassin sent turned against the mafia and was about to escape with the rival group along with some sensitive document when Venedict acted. Furious and hell bent on protecting the Russian mafia, Venedict overheated the digitally controlled boiler system in the basement. The explosion by itself would have caused significant damage to the building but the hotel ran on propane. The volatile combination of heat, gas, and pressure caused the entire hotel to be destroyed, rivals, civilians, and all. Venedict’s status rose to unimaginable heights and was then transferred into an elite group of assassins known as Libertine. At the age of twenty two, he was transferred to America to replace the previous hacker that had been caught and sentenced to life in prison without parole. Now twenty eight, Venedict Chaplin is an accomplished hacker and assassin. He speaks fluent English with a slight Russian accent, but other than that he fits right in. He has no qualms with his life as it is now and he would like it to stay that way |
