[atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true]Overall, it had been a good day - well, night. She had been working the night shifts for about a week and she already hated it with a passion, but there were all the perks to the job that she wouldn't trade for the world. Like telling the patient who made half a performance of Aladdin's "A Whole New World" to shut the hell up. Or being there to witness that Ward E patient look at the mirror for the first time in a month. Or going into a hospitalized patient's room to check their vitals only to walk in on him receiving a BJ from their girlfriend who should never have been there on the first place - ok that one nearly gave her an apoplexy. The thing that sucked the most about night shifts was having to walk home alone at seven a.m. It wasn't far, and she'd never had any problems with miscreants in her area, but it was unpleasant nonetheless. The sun was rising and yet she was too exhausted to notice or care about the beauty of the universe after 12 hours of intensive work. She just wanted to grab breakfast (dinner?) somewhere and bury herself under her comforter for the next nine hours. Jessie stepped into the cold world, hands firmly tucked into her pockets. It was a lovely morning and she could feel herself chirping up a bit with the fresh air. The BJ couple was soon forgotten as she directed herself to Lemon Poppy Kitchen, this snazzy diner in the middle of the way from the hospital to her house. The Lemon Poppy Kitchen, despite its sad, sad name, had the best Lemon Pie she'd ever tasted. And she wanted a freshly baked piece. She could already feel it on her taste-buds when she waltzed into the diner with a smile. "Poppy honey, I really want a piece of your lemon pie!" she announced even before she got to the counter. "And if you throw in a strawberry milkshake I'll love you forever." She paid Polly - sometimes she wanted to hug the woman - and picked up her tray with her smashing dinner-breakfast. For a moment she stopped and looked around for the nearest occupied table before directing herself to it and asking its occupant(s): "Do you mind if I sit with you? It's just that I don't like eating alone - it makes me feel depressed."DATE || april 14th, roughly 7:15 a.m. NOTES || <3 TAG || OPEN |

It was not because this part of LA was one of the less nicer parts but because he knew what monsters resided here. Namely, two very competent and well endowed assassins that were also part of Libertine. He knew he could drop by at anytime but honestly, what was there to say. Unless it was for a job, there was rarely any need for them to be meeting each other. Then again, he would not mind going to see them if it ended in bed. At any rate, instead of going to the Java cafe, here he was sitting in Lemon Poppy Kitchen: a quaint little bakery that produced some fantastic pastries.
Venedict sat alone near the window with his coffee in hand. The occurrence at the pier left him angry more than anything else. He had searched everywhere he could and yet he could find nothing on who or what had created that thing. He had considered returning but decided against it until he had more information. It was a puzzle and a damn difficult one at that.
A feminine voice broke him from his reverie. Venedict looked up to see a young woman holding pastries and a pink milkshake in hand. Well of course you may,” Venedict said, his Russian accent accentuating every vowel. ”Please take a seat.”
The mystery of what happened that day may still bother him, but perhaps this woman could become a welcome distraction. It may be early in the morning but sex is sex and there is no rule that sex had to be done at night. Mornings were a good a time as any. [/style] |
