tagged: leon. date: may 1st, just before noon.notes: rp swap. All things considered, it was little wonder that Moose ended up doing the jobs he did. For most people, choosing a job was a long and difficult process. It took effort and focus. It was, all things considered, one of the most important choices of their lives. The same had not been true for Moose. Anyone who so much as glanced at him could take a good guess at the sort of jobs he'd end up doing. Construction. Bouncer. Bodyguard. It was the last job that brought him to the Renaissance Hotel, and it was the last job that he was the newest to.
Generally there were two kinds of body guards. The first kind were specially trained, chosen for their skill and experience. They guarded high profile targets who, realistically, were in real danger all the time. The president wasn't going to go out with a low-rate bodyguard, for example. For most people though, the second kind of bodyguard was fine--the kind chosen for their physical qualities more than any training. Even if he had experience, Moose would still be grouped into the second group every time. He was a living example of what would keep overly attached fans away from a young star. He was, after all, very intimidating. No one was going to bother anyone he was guarding without being very insistent.
Pretty much everything about him was intimidating, and that was why he'd gotten the job, even if it was a temporary job that wouldn't last so long. He was tall enough that he was a good foot taller then the average male, standing six foot eight, and extremely muscular. He was big enough that even getting clothes to fit him was a bit of a task, and he'd been lucky enough to be loaned a suit. Not exactly the right kind of suit that a bodyguard would wear, but a suit just the same. It wasn't his own, and didn't fit him quite right. For one, the previous owner had been less muscular and more flabby, so the stomach was too loose while the shoulders were too tight. For another, while the owner was quite tall, he wasn't as tall as Moose was, and the suit was a good inch or two off the ground. It wasn't as if many people would notice the qualities of his suit, considering how much easier it was to notice the size of the man wearing it, but it bothered Moose a bit that he was perpetually shabby. At the very least he'd been able to wash recently, and he didn't look like a hobo.
He did, however, still look largely like a criminal. His face was a perpetual scowl, even if he wasn't angry, and it took a lot of happiness for it to shift into another emotion. It was simply the way his face was, and the scar on his face made him look even more nefarious than he actually was. The scar was ragged and badly stitched, running across his face over the bridge of his nose. It practically screamed that someone who wasn't a doctor had been forced to stitch it up, but in truth, it had actually been stitched by a doctor--it was just such a minor injury compared to the rest of him at the time that they hadn't bothered to put any effort into it, convinced that he was likely to die anyway, and that there were better things to spend their time on. By the time he'd stabilized, there had been no point in restitching his face.
Standing to the side of the hotel lobby, Moose felt terribly out of place. He knew what to do though--he'd been instructed clearly enough. Wait for the boy. When he came, go wherever he wanted and make sure no fans swarmed him. Easy enough, and with a paycheck that was modest for most and massive for Moose himself. Easy enough--he was just hoping that the boy showed up sooner or later.

A bodyguard. Hmmph. Maybe it wasn't so bad, considering that everyone else in the band was busy. So... he just wanted to go to one place, and it just happened to be a place where he might be recognized and mobbed. He really wouldn't even have minded, actually. If only that fan hadn't bothered him... and spread the word that he was in LA now. Stupid rabid fans. So a bodyguard was in place. Leon hadn't even seen who it would be - oh well. At least he wouldn't be going Disneyland all by himself. He would have someone to ride the rides with, and go try all the different foods, and all in all have an enjoyable time. So of course, he skipped joyfully down the to the lobby in looks of the person who would be spending his time with. He was a bit late - he needed to make his hair perfect so forgive him if he took a bit of time.
And holy shit was that him?! He was... he was massive. Well, he did fit the profile of a... bodyguard. So, Leon thought so. He approached, skipping (once again - what was it that made him want to skip? The glee of going to Disneyland...) towards the man. "Are you Mr. Moore? I'm Leon." Are you going to be my bodyguard? So... this might be problematic. Well, maybe it was pretty good to have such an intimidating looking man to guard him, but hell, even if he was supposed to be the one being protected, he couldn't help if he was a little bit scared. Oh well, best cover it up with a happy farce. Maybe he wasn't so bad, appearances aside.
"So how are you? Lovely day, isn't it?" The day was nice, clear skies and perfect weather to be going to the park in. "You can drive, right? I can drive but I don't wanna." He probably sounded horribly spoiled. But, well, he was getting paid, right? So what was the point in Leon driving the two, then? He just wanted to relax and have fun today. Roller coasters and nice food. He was a sucker for that. Though... the man towered over Leon. In fact, he towered over a lot of people. Leon wasn't very tall, but still... he was tiny in comparison to his bodyguard. A blessing... and probably a curse. Leon wasn't actually sure if he'd fit through security and the rides. That would be a very troublesome thing, Leon didn't want to go on the rides by himself. At least if they went to eat he could be there.
"Let's go to Disneyland! Let's go, let's go, let's go. Let's go on the rides and eat lots of good food and everything." The shorter boy started to drag his bodyguard out of the door. They were wasting time, there was no reason to just be standing here. Leon couldn't wait to get to Disneyland, he couldn't wait to get on the rides, and he was impatient. And when he was impatient he might just get a bit whiny. "We're wasting time just standing here, I wanna go on as many rides as I can!"

tagged: leon. date: may 1st, just before noon.notes: rp swap. Moose didn't even realize that the person he was supposed to guard had shown up until he spoke. After all, simply gawking at him wasn't enough to know anything about anyone. Most people gawked at him. It wasn't even a notable occurrence anymore. Hell, it was more notable when people didn't gawk at him. Normally it meant they were trying to avoid drawing attention to themselves, which generally had the opposite effect around Moose. He'd long ago accepted that people would gawk, and there was nothing he could do about it. Getting mad would just make things worse, which meant he simply had to brush it off and move on with his life.
It didn't help that he was being called 'Mr. Moore', which was a name that was almost never, ever used. Yes, it was his real name, but no one ever called him a mister. Never. So that was the first order of business.
"Just Moose is fine." In fact, he'd have trouble responding to anything but Moose. Mister Moore might as well be someone else entirely, as far as Moose was concerned.
Although he supposed he should probably have addressed the other half of the greeting. Right--formalities. Time to impress as much as possible. "Nice to meet you. I guess you know where we're going?" Because Moose had no clue. Realistically, Leon could have flown to Europe and Moose would have simply tagged along (at least until he was stopped at the border, lacking any passport at all).
Of course, the next thing the boy said brought a whole different issue up. With a shake of his head, Moose shot that idea right down. "I'm not a driver. No license." Nor did he have the ability to drive. Well, he might have, but he sure as hell didn't remember it, and that wasn't the sort of thing you tested with some semi-famous kid in the car. Okay, so, maybe Leon wasn't a kid--he was supposed to be twenty according to the person who had hired Moose--but he was short and significantly younger than Moose himself, which classified him as a 'kid' even if he wasn't technically one.
Moose did have at least one idea, and he jabbed a finger at the door as Leon started walking, half dragging him along as he went. "There's a shuttle to Disney. No one has to drive." Hell, every major hotel in the orange county area had a shuttle. They were just lucky enough that it was actually there, and leaving fairly soon. Not that Moose thought it would be a comfortable ride. Buses were generally too small for him, and shuttles weren't much better. It couldn't possibly be worse than whatever tiny car his escortee probably had--probably some tiny little low to the ground car that would have Moose's knees shoved up under his chin.
"Never been to Disney. You'll have to lead the way though." He was rapidly starting to wonder if he was the best choice for the job, considering that he wasn't going to fit on half the rides. Crowd control was going to be a big part of the job, and if you needed someone to cut through a major crowd and give you a path, Moose was your man.

"Okay, Moose then." Oh they were already on such familiar terms? Great, they would be just awesome friends together, wouldn't they? Well, he was supposed to protect him from the onslaught of fangirls (if there were any), but otherwise they could enjoy themselves and have fun. The familiarity of course made Leon rather happy about that. He didn't have to bear with calling him 'Mr. Moore' or anything of that context. That was so formal... at least they already broke that barrier. How lucky of them! This was just gonna be a great day, no matter what. Disneyland was the place of dreams, and he was going to spend it with someone who he was on familiar terms with! How lucky was he?
Oh, he didn't have a license? Well, okay then, they could easily work around that. Nothing was going to prevent him from going to the place he wanted to go to, absolutely nothing! He'd fight tooth and nail to get into the park with Moose, Leon would. But that wasn't too big of a deal. He supposed he could drive, but he really didn't want to and - oh. Oh, a shuttle! That was right, the big hulking man had reminded him of that. And thank god, thank god there was one there now. Leon wasn't sure if he could wait for one to show up. "Oh right, a shuttle. Okay. Hurry, hurry, beeil dich." Oops, he slipped into a bit of German, but whatever. His point had probably come across already as he started to drag the man towards the shuttle. "Na los! Before it leaves, come on."
They weren't even on a slow pace, Leon was just nagging Moose right about now. But the most pressing problem was... would he fit? Leon could thought the shuttle to be vast and full of space (or, from what he had been on before), but he wasn't exactly a good judge for someone as tall as his bodyguard. Well, he did suggest it, so obviously it should be fine, right? Obviously it would. Leon would shove him into the shuttle either way, literally or figuratively.
"Oh. You've never been to Disney before? Well... I haven't either... and all the band mates seemed to be busy or disappeared when I asked them to come, so it's just the two of us, it seems~" Where did they all go? Honestly it would have been the fun trip and he planned... most of it. Well, he would have if they hadn't all just gone up and disappeared on him. Oh well, now he could just go on the rides he wanted to. Still, wasn't the saying 'the more the merrier'? No matter, he wouldn't be completely alone, which was a good thing. Just imagine if he'd have been left to his own devices - he'd have tried to hit all the rides in one day. While that was also what he wanted to do now, at least he had someone to curb his impossible goal. And maybe Moose could do something he wanted to do. "Do you wanna do anything in particular though? Since I'll feel guilty if you just follow me around the whole time doing what I wanna do and not what you wanna do."

tagged: leon. date: may 1st, just before noon.notes: rp swap. Moose, strictly speaking, did not do formality. It wasn't a thing for him, and he sincerely doubted it ever would be. He'd be old and grey and maybe even married, and he'd still be going by Moose to everyone he met. It wasn't a sign of affection by any means--that was just what he thought of his name as. So even if Leon thought it meant they were super friendly, Moose was still keeping his mental distance from the kid. It was just a job--even if it was a job that seemed downright pleasant by comparison. Most of his other jobs involved getting dirty and right down to business. This would be a walk in the park--proverbially and literally.
Moose stared at Leon in confusion as he said... something. Moose had so little experience with other languages that it didn't even occur to him that it was a foreign language. For all he knew, Leon had just spoken some words he didn't know. There were plenty of words he had no idea about, and maybe whatever had just been said were some of those. He was a tad confused when Leon grabbed his hand, towing him over to the shuttle. He'd have walked on his own, but after a moment he decided it probably didn't matter if Leon towed him along--at least he'd be able to keep him in sight at all times if he insisted on doing that. His long legs let him keep pace easily, even if Leon was a thousand times more enthusiastic than he was, but that was just fine with him.
Moose would fit, albeit with a bit of a struggle. They boarded the shuttle, with Moose shuffling into the seat in the front row. The front row was the only one he was likely to fit--it had the most legroom. He was taking up nearly two seats by himself, his shoulders wide enough that anyone sitting beside him was going to be uncomfortable. There was still plenty of room on the shuttle, and it was a six seat row, so there was still room for Leon, even assuming he didn't want to press right up to Moose's side.
It took him several seconds of thinking before he finally responded, giving what amounted to a verbal shrug. "Don't really know what's there. Never been to one. So I wouldn't know what to go for. You'll just have to guide the way." He was pretty sure there were supposed to be rides or something, only he had no idea what rides. He had only a vague idea of what sort of things Disney did, and he couldn't remember the name of a single Disney movie either.

Yay! He fit! Crisis averted! Leon was really happy with this progress and he sat contently. He produced a map of Disneyland from one of his pockets, looking at it intently. Where was a good place to start? No, what was a good place to go that would fit with both him and Moose? He had never been, so he was just stuck with the map for right now, which he had obtained from one of the visitor's centers he visited the other day. What was a popular ride? Leon wanted to go on 'It's a Small World', but that was a bit far into the park. And he'd be so sad to just walk past all the other rides without actually riding them. That was just asking for too much. And also the problem was that... would his companion actually fit in it?
No, an even better idea was to go to the castle! He always wanted to go to the castle. Though, he heard that not a lot of people went to the Sleeping Beauty castle thing. And that it was hard to find. Well if anything, he wanted to go there. So Leon was determined to find it. Though - would Moose fit through that? Oh well, Leon would still go anyways. And he'd drag him along as well, there was no way he'd go through it alone. He might get lost! Moose would probably get in a lot of trouble if he got lost, and he would get scared if he got lost in a foreign place so... well, he'd technically be doing Moose a favor by dragging him along. Not once did he even think about asking for Moose's opinion on going to the Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough. Because, well, it was a walkthrough, right? It required walking, so surely... it would be alright. He heard it was really nice. "I wanna go there..."
He was mostly talking to himself now. "I want to go there too." Pirates of the Caribbean was supposed to be one of the more popular rides, right? "Hey. Hey Moose. Heyyyy." Leon poked him a couple of times. No doubt that the taller and more intimidating man was annoying, but Leon didn't stop. "Are you sure, absolutely sure, there's nothing you wanna do? Are you sure? Positive? There's gotta be something! Like rolller coasters - or boat rides - or walkthroughs! Hey, maybe we can eat some fancy how about that? Fancy food! Do you want that? Oh, we'll go there anyways because I'm sure we'll both be hungry when the day's over, right? I'll be buying. Because, you know, I feel like a bit of a burden dragging you around. But you'll have fun, right? You have to have fun! It's Disneyland, the Happiest Place on Earth! You gotta be happy there, right?"
Oh, he didn't actually know what was there though. "Here, the map~" He literally shoved it into Moose's hands. "There's some things listed, so to get an idea. C'mon, pleaseee? Because we can't see everything today, as much as I wanna. Hey, let's go tomorrow too! Are you gonna come tomorrow too? I wanna go, let's go tomorrow again, okay?" Leon wasn't actually sure if he was free tomorrow, but if he didn't get to do all that he wanted, he was damn well sure he would force himself to go to Disneyland the next day.
"Oh. Look! Look it's Disneyland!" He pointed out the window. "We're almost there! Isn't that exciting? Let's go in there first!" Leon pointed at right at the castle. "Yeah?"
Leon is not a hufflepuff, he is not a particularly good finder. He is also not aware how tiny the walkthrough is.

tagged: leon. date: may 1st, just before noon.notes: rp swap. Moose couldn't begin to keep up with Leon as he pointed at places on the map, mumbling about wanting to go to them. for one thing, seeing the map required him to crane over and look. For another, he was almost entirely sure that Leon wasn't talking to him so much as he was talking to himself. That was fine with Moose--plenty of people talked to themselves to stave off boredom, and he really didn't see anything wrong with it. He was quite unprepared when Leon started prodding him, which was something that had absolutely not happened for the past fifteen years.
People did not prod Moose. People struggled to look at Moose, simply because his size made him so intimidating. So to have someone be so completely unafraid, prodding at his side as if he was a tiny child was... well, new. Strange, certainly, but not entirely unwelcome. Just very surprising. Very, very surprising. He straightened up, not even attempting to cut in as Leon babbled on. No, he'd wait for him to finish, or at least wait for him to breath, and then he'd speak.
Only, good god, he didn't stop. He just kept going, rambling on at the speed of sound. Moose was starting to wonder if his client had forgotten to provide knockout drugs of some variety for use on the boy. There had to be an off switch, didn't there? At the very least Moose had never been given the false impression that you could knock someone out by smacking them. It was a common enough thing in movies, he'd been told, but anyone who had any sort of real fighting experience knew that if you knocked someone out hard enough that they were unconscious, it probably meant they had serious brain damage.
Which meant he was really just going to have to put up with the mile a minute talking, struggling to keep up. He actually winced visibly, not because of the speed, but because of the simple fact that there were several words he didn't immediately know. Walkthrough wasn't one he knew, but he figured it out after a moment of thought, but 'positive'? 'Burden'? He could only give a rough guess at what the hell those meant. Only he didn't want to ask, because... well, asking made him look stupid. Which he was, but it wasn't the sort of thing you paraded around. So he let out a little grunt, staring at the map as Leon finally stopped talking.
"Think so. About tomorrow, that is. Give me a second with the map." Which he really, really wasn't expecting Leon to give him. He was expecting Leon to go right back to talking, but for the moment he focused on the map. It was, to say the least, horribly confusing. He had no real connection with the vast majority of Disney movies. He really didn't remember any of them, beyond some vague pop culture references. After several long moments he finally settled back, no longer hunched over the map.
"Fireworks sound good." Which he'd heard of, but had never seen. "And food is good too." He was a fan of food. He'd never tried too much of it, but he had one hell of an appetite.
With the park finally in view, Moose found himself squinting out the window. A castle? Was it real? He actually genuinely didn't know, so he gave a shrug. "Sure." They could go there first if that was what he wanted--Leon was in charge after all.

Leon's eyes literally lit up with glee when Moose told him that tomorrow was a possibility - no, not even a possibility. A very likely possibility, which bordered on a confirmation. Maybe he should ask if the other band members would like to go tomorrow too? "Really? Tomorrow too? That's good, we can take our time today! We don't have to rush to get on everything - or at least, I don't have to rush to get onto everything - because we can do it tomorrow too! We'll split the attractions up into two groups! I mean, it'll be easier that way, right? So we can go to the castle first, because I wanna go there really really bad, and then we can go on a few more rides today." He nodded contently to himself, liking the plan already, and not waiting to get any approval from his companion.
Speaking of which, did he say something about what he wanted to do? Something about... oh yes! Fireworks and food! Ah yes, food. Leon could really go for some food now, but he felt as though he could hold off for a few hours. Plus, he wasn't sure if he could hold it all down due to the fact that he was so excited for his first trip to Disneyland. Rides first! Fun first! That was his theory, at the least. And they had plenty - plenty - of time before the fireworks came. It was only noon, and there was so much to do before the sun even started to set, never mind be dark enough for the fireworks.
"Fireworks! I wanna see them too, this is great! We need to find a good place to watch them though, but we'll do that later when the time comes, okay? And food - food! Food is always good! But, but what kind of food do you want? I heard there was a really good restaurant in here, but I don't know what kind of food there is. What kind of food do you like? I like eating all different kinds of food so I'm open to anything! We can have seafood, or fast food, or anything really! You get to pick, I can't possibly pick from all the choices, so you do it, okay?" Ah, just thinking of food... No, later. First, rides.
"Yay! We're going to the castle~ We're going to the castle~" Leon continued to chant the phrase in a sing-song voice. He didn't stop even as the shuttle ceased moving signalling the time for them to get off. "I can't wait to go, I hear it's really pretty!" Leon proceeded to drag Moose out of the shuttle as he had when he dragged him into the shuttle. "Look, look look look look look!" Leon pointed at the Disneyland sign. "Look! It's the Disneyland sign! I can't believe I'm really here. I need to take pictures~" Only... he forgot to bring his camera, smart one he was. He only noticed when he looked at all his belongings and found it to be missing. "I... I forgot to bring it..." His expression dampened. He couldn't believed that he could be so stupid as to forget his own camera! His first time in Disneyland... And he didn't bring his camera! "I guess there's always tomorrow." But it still wasn't the same. That would be his second time - second time, not his first! There might be some disposable cameras in the gift shop, perhaps. He could salvage this.
He was still glum, though. Disposable cameras weren't exactly known for their quality, but they would do for now. Leon still couldn't believe it, though.

tagged: leon. date: may 1st, just before noon.notes: rp swap. As far as Moose knew, there was no reason for him not to be available tomorrow. After all, he was free more or less any day of the week. Jobs were few and far between. He was simply unaware of the fact that both he and Leon would have work in the afternoon, even if they never actually ran into each other. So as far as he knew, he could very easily spend the whole damn week with Leon.
Hell, technically if he wasn't being paid to guard him, if Leon was going to pay for his food, Moose probably would have gone anyway. A good meal was worth it as far as he was concerned, and a place as expensive as Disney (he'd seen the brochure) had to have good food.
Faintly, he did wish he knew more about the park. Leon was so enthusiastic about everything. He just seemed to excited, like an anxious little puppy. It was almost infectious, and Moose just wished he knew how to make things good--where to eat, where to go to see the fireworks the best... All those things were stuff he'd have liked to have known, but simply didn't. Maybe he'd find a brochure or something and read through it when Leon went on rides he wouldn't fit on.
The whole speech about food was largely lost on Moose. Moose would eat absolutely anything. Hell, he'd have picked through the disney food dumpsters if he was given a chance. Having a pick of things just ended up overwhelming him, leaving him unsure of what he wanted. At the very least he did have a 'pick' that would hopefully satisfy Leon, while avoiding actually picking.
"How about we go into the park, and when you're hungry, just say it and we'll go to whatever food is close?" It worked in his head. Weren't there lots of food places all over? Plus, it meant they wouldn't have to beeline for a specific area of the park in order to eat there--they could just eat wherever they happened to be.
It nearly broke his heart watching Leon's face fall, and he paused as they got off the shuttle, bending down a bit so he wasn't towering over Leon quite so much. It was one of the few bits of social rules that he actually knew about--people thought you were scary if you were tall, but if you bent down they thought you were more friendly.
"Hey, how about we get one in the park and then we can take a picture at night? I bet it's all lit up nice." He made a quick gesture to the sigh itself. "Way cooler looking then just a shot in the day."

It wasn't long before the boy perked up from his short-lived depression upon the prospect of riding all the rides anyways. Now that he thought about it, wouldn't it be difficult to take his camera on them without it potentially getting lost, or broken, or even potentially flung off a ride if things got loose. No, he couldn't let that happen to his precious camera (even if he could probably replace it just as easy), so Leon was thinking maybe it was better off his enjoying the park as it was originally intended.
"Okay! That sounds like a plan. We'll just eat whatever's nearby, if you're okay with it!" Food, well, they probably wouldn't be having food for a while. Even though it was nearing lunch time already, he was just too excited for food. There was no time for food right this moment, anyways.
He reached into his ever magical pocket and pulled out the magical tickets that would magically give the two of them admittance to the park. With renewed joy and skip to his step, Leon bounded towards the entrance of Disneyland, not even waiting for Moose to catch up to him. He couldn't wait to step inside and finally experience the thing he had been wishing for ever since he was a little kid. "Okay~ Picture at night with the lights! Yeah, that sounds a lot better actually, we don't have to worry about a camera and still have pretty pictures, isn't that right?!" A big smile broke out on his face. "You have really great ideas now, you know?"
Before long the two of them were admitted into the park, and Leon was skipping towards his first destination. The castle. The place he had mentioned to Moose before. "The castle, we're going to the castle~ Let's go, let's go, let's go~" The front of Disneyland was fairly crowded right now, but he dashed through Main Street, only pausing to give a glance at some of the eateries. They were full, but he made a mental note to himself to remember to buy ice cream when he had some time from one of the shops.
He stopped short of the castle, admiring the architecture and it's overall... prettiness. "Ahh, I wanna be a princess and live in a castle with beautiful and pretty things. Don't you? I mean, the castle's so pretty and everything and it'll be nice and comfy and I wanna have a big bed, if you lived in a castle would you have a big bed? I want a big, large, comfortable bed that I can sleep with alllll by myself because I don't wanna share with anyone. " He went across the bridge and through the tunnel, looking for the place that the map pointed to. "Can you see it? I can't see it. I can't find it! Is it gone? Noo no no no I can't find it." Leon hadn't even been searching all that hard and he was already wailing. Well, this would be a fun day, that was for sure.

tagged: leon. date: may 1st, just before noon.notes: rp swap. So much for Moose's concerns about Leon. It was hardly thirty seconds and he was right back to being enthusiastic, practically bouncing off the walls. For gods sake, there were six year olds running around with less enthusiasm then Leon. Mostly, it was just lucky Moose was as big as he was--aside from the general bodyguard perks, having long legs meant he could keep up with Leon without too much effort. Anyone shorter probably would have had to full out run, and it wasn't as if he could afford to let Leon just run around on his own.
Moose didn't need to think back to work out if it was the first time anyone had said he had good ideas. He knew it was the first time, and he felt suddenly taken aback by it. He had... good ideas? It didn't seem very good to him. It just was a normal thing--not something that deserved a special comment.
Getting through security earned him quite a few looks, but he didn't have any bag to search, so he went right through no problem. The entrance itself proved to be another story entirely, because the small admittance turnstiles were absolutely not made to accommodate someone of his size. He might have been able to squish through by rotating, but thankfully the woman working the turnstile was smart enough to let him through the wheelchair gate after checking his ticket.
Well, that was one crisis averted.
A castle. The thought made Moose feel sort of sad, even if he looked just as scowly as ever. He didn't want a castle. He'd have settled for a shitty apartment. Did Leon know that he slept most nights out on a park bench? Probably not. It wasn't the sort of information that got volunteered, and he'd been lucky enough to be able to shower off and make himself presentable. While most of the time his status was obvious, this was one of the few days where he wasn't immediately marked as a hobo. He was in a suit, even if it didn't fit, and while most people would probably assume he was bad news from the scar and his size, most wouldn't jump to 'dangerous hobo'.
Whether that was a good thing remained to be seen.
"Wouldn't mind a castle I guess." He said, staring up at it as they weaved through the crowd. After a moment of fighting them, Moose simply dodged around Leon, leading the way. He could easily cut a path through the crowd, and Leon was small enough to follow behind him without having to struggle. He just had to keep on checking behind him to make sure Leon hadn't wandered off.
When they finally did reach the bridge at the base of the castle, Moose could only look around in confusion. He couldn't see any entrance. In fact, now Leon was wailing, and he looked all the harder as they crossed the bridge before pointing it out. Alright, so, tucked away. He probably would have walked right past it if not for the sudden urgency.
"Hey now, there it is--just a bit tucked away. They don't just hide things."

After a good deal of panic, Leon decided to finally pull out his map, and looking at it concluded that they were right they it was supposed to be. Meaning, since he couldn't find it, it was gone or he was just not a good finder of things. Hopefully Moose was better though, and if it came down to the both of them not being able to find it, all wasn't lost. After all, this was Disneyland, and just because Leon had wanted to go to the castle first didn't mean there was nothing else to see here. He supposed... he could go to another place. It was just, the castle, it was the big thing he was looking towards to. So perhaps it'll take a bit of sulking and then he'd bounce back to being cheery again.
"I guess if we can't find it..." What would be the next place? Actually, Leon had planned to just walk around and ride whatever he wanted. "Oh, hey, you found it!" Looking at it now, perhaps Leon really was blind. It was... a little obvious where it was. Sure, it wasn't something that was striking and completely eye-catching, but he had been looking for it, and to miss something as such was a little bit embarrassing. Well, as long as they got to go in. There were a few children going in, and Leon supposed that it was expected. This wasn't exactly for adults, it was for the kids. So he did feel out of place as he walked toward the entrance of the attraction.
Well, he made himself feel a bit better by thinking that he was with Moose, so he wouldn't be alone. Though thinking about it now, the two of them stood out more together than apart. Leon shrugged anyways. He didn't mind it when people paid attention to him, in actuality he probably preferred it. As long as they didn't get in the way of his enjoyment he was perfectly fine with everything and anything. "Okay, let's go in!"
The first thing he noticed was the size of the corridor. It wasn't so much narrow as it felt as though it were caving in. And as small as he was, he just couldn't imagine what it felt towards his companion. But soon after he was distracted by the first attraction - one of the book pages from the entrance. He read it out loud - there wasn't much anyways and it wasn't as though he were disturbing anyone. And then he hopped up the stairs two at a time, rushing like a little kid towards the next part of the walkthrough. A colorful, animated picture. "Mooooose, Mooose, look look look look look! Isn't it pretty?"
i need to visit this attraction next time i'll go but i looked up videos but iunno how accurate they are

tagged: leon. date: may 1st, just before noon.notes: rp swap. Moose did not fit. There were no two ways about it. The door had looked small enough to start, but he'd figured it would be alright--it wasn't as if they had made an entire attraction with a height clearance of just over six feet. The stairway wasn't so bad, but at the top it became absurdly obvious Moose wasn't going to fit. Of course, with Leon running ahead to see the paintings, Moose was left trying to work out if he should even try it. Maybe he should just meet him at the end? To get through he was going to have to duck and turn a bit to the side, and there was zero way anyone was going to get behind him without basically sliding up against him. While he wasn't terribly concerned about that, he was fairly sure that other people might be about him.
But his duty came first. He was getting paid for it, and Leon was nice enough that he didn't feel particularly grumpy over it. If anything happened, he'd feel genuinely bad about it, so after a moment he hunched over, shuffling sideways down the hall.
Which pretty much proved he didn't fit. His shoulders were too wide--in some places they actually brushed either side if he stood straight on. He was going to have to go diagonally, and stairs were suddenly a nightmare, tight and winding.
The books were easy enough to read, hunched over as he was, but the little windows that showed off the animated scenes were absolutely not happening. Set at a height that required the average adult to hunch a bit, Moose was only going to get to see them if he sat on the floor, and he did not want to get the already messy suit any more dirty then it already was. At least the castle was in the shade, and while it wasn't comfortable at all, there were worse places to be.
"Can't really see it. Maybe some of the other ones are a bit more open." Because if it got any smaller, he'd have to back up and block off the damn walkthrough.

He looked back to see Moose in a not-so-comfortable position and Leon rethought this whole ordeal. Was he a bit too selfish for making him come with him? He wanted to spend some time with him, and while they were going to do what Moose wanted eventually, there would be a time for fireworks and unfortunately it wouldn't be for a while. So Leon thought maybe they could go here first. In hindsight, he probably should have thought about how cramped the space would be, seeing as this was an attraction for children, and the build of his bodyguard was anything but childish. "Sorry, I guess... I should have seen this coming." He tried to laugh it off, but there wasn't much he could do. Leon couldn't just request it to be expanded for the sake of Moose. That was a ridiculous idea and Leon dispelled it from his head immediately. Sure, he might be famous, but even then there would be no special requests for Disneyland.
It was a fine place either way, if a bit small. He should probably be grateful that Moose could actually fit and he didn't get stuck between the walls. It would have been funny if that happened, but there came the problem as to how exactly they would get out of that situation. "Okay I'll take pic-" He stopped himself as he reached over to where he usually kept his camera. Leon wasn't sure if he was allowed to take pictures, and even then he hadn't even brought his camera so there went his plan. If he hadn't been so hasty about going into the castle, maybe he would have thought things out and stopped at a shop and buy a camera. "I'll... tell you about them, then? So that you don't miss out!" Although he wasn't much of a description person, at least the point would get across, right?
"You know the story of the Sleeping Beauty, right?" A lot of people knew it, or so Leon got the impression of that. He didn't know much of the details, but the general gist of the story was trapped somewhere in his mind. Even now, with the first bit of the walkthrough, he felt the memories stirring. "Okay so in this one there's a fire, and the fire is burning. And the king and queen are looking at it. I guess the fire is burning something. Uh, those things that the witch cursed the princess with." He thought for a second. How did the story go again...? "Oh! Oh yeah! The wheel thingies!" Leon wasn't sure what they were called again. He looked at the book next to the picture for reference. "Spinning wheels!"
He hopped towards the next animated picture, which was a nice enough one. "And in this one there's the three fairies and - OOH LOOK there's sparklies!" Leon was distracted for a moment before continuing on his not-so-helpful description. "Kay so I'm pretty sure they're casting a spell. And the spell is like... very sparkly. It's really pretty and shiny and sparkly. The cradle is rocking but I think it's because Princess Aurora's all happy and stuff."
i can't take him seriously

tagged: leon. date: may 1st, just before noon.notes: rp swap. Moose didn't particularly blame Leon. He hadn't ever been there before, so it wasn't as if he could have worked out how small it was inside, or the fact that things were far, far too far down for Moose to see them without sitting. "S'fine. Not like you could have known." He responded, edging down the hallway. He really didn't blame him at all. He didn't even mind the thought of Leon narrating it for him. That was fine. Of course, right until the first bit--that was less fine.
"No. I don't really know it at all." He added after Leon finished the first chunk of his explanation. Obviously he was assuming that everyone knew the story--and while it seemed vaguely familiar, it just gave him a headache trying to work out why they were burning things, and the fairies, and spells or whatever. He really didn't follow it at all. It was like it was entirely Greek or something.
In fact, he had a feeling he should probably be entirely up front with Leon on that thing. "Don't really remember much of my childhood, so basically, if you assume everyone would know the story... well, don't. I probably don't remember any of it. I mean, some of it's familiar, like the name, but I don't remember a thing, so if you want me to keep up, you're going to have to do a lot of explaining." Which was an understatement. Leon was going to have to explain everything if he wanted to keep Moose up to date.

Oh, now he felt bad. Leon hadn't been aware at all that Moose hadn't heard of the story - though it was a popular story. Surely not everyone in the whole entire world knew about it! He himself didn't remember the details, but this was an easy solution to fix. He'll just explain everything about the story that he remembered and then go on with the tour. Not as though they'd be blocking the path as he went through everything about the story. Or at least, the glorified Disney movie he had watched that one time. "Sorry! But now that you told me, I can tell you all about the story! Well, at least as much as I know. So listen up, okay?"
They had already gone through a bit of the story because of the walkthrough itself, but maybe Moose was confused on that too? Especially since Leon had just jumped into describing the pictures without any warning. "Well a new baby was born, Aurora, and she's the princess. And they have this big big party with these magical fairy people - three of them. And they give her gifts. I think they were being pretty and singing, but I know that before the third fairy could give her a gift some evil witch comes in. And she curses Aurora, saying she'll die when she's sixteen by... pricking her finger with a spinning wheel!" Or so, that was how Leon remembered the first part. "So basically that's why there were spinning wheels burning in that one picture."
Leon spent a long time running his mouth off about the story. She was then in a cottage, she met the prince, the witch found her, she had to go home, the witch captures the prince, he escapes, he defeats the witch who turned into a dragon, and everything was fine and dandy, so went the Disney version. To his memory, anyways. He wasn't sure if Moose was any more or less confused, but then again, he had tried his best, yeah? "Okay well, if you still have any questions don't be afraid to ask me and stop me. I wanna make sure you have fun too, or at least understand everything!"

tagged: leon. date: may 1st, just before noon.notes: rp swap. Most probably would have been a bit bored having a children's story explained to them by someone young enough to have been their son. Moose really didn't mind, all things considered. He was well aware that he was colossally ignorant, oblivious to even the smallest things. Things that people took for granted, assumed as a given were simply out of reach for him. Sure, the random story of some princess or something was probably not going to be very useful, but someone might reference back to it later, and then he'd be able to actually know what the hell they were talking about.
Of course, even with Leon's explanation, Moose was still a bit confused. What in the seven hell's was a 'spinning wheel'? Didn't all wheel's spin? Wasn't that the freaking point of a wheel? And how were you supposed to prick yourself on it? Moose certainly knew what a prick was, but that was only leaving him more confused then ever.
"Hold on for a second. What's a - what's a spinning wheel?" At the very least the rest of the story made sense. It seemed absurd, but he could follow along. It was just the random inclusion of a spinning wheel that threw him off, unable to understand what the hell Leon was talking about.
At the very least they were almost done.
"I'll be happy to get out." Far too stuffy. "Where to next?"

Oh right, not a lot of people knew what spinning wheels were! Leon himself didn't know until he was an embarrassingly old age. The horror, when he asked what it was. "Ah, a spinning wheel. It's sort of like a thing that makes thread and stuff from spinning a wheel. I don't know how it works." But that wasn't important, there was just a needle and Aurora pricked her finger on it - at least, so Leon's reasoning went. The important part was that the valiant prince saved the princess and all was happily ever after.
Contrary to what Moose said, Leon was a little sad to get out of the walkthrough. Though he understood where Moose was coming from (he was massive and the attraction was rather cramped), he couldn't help but lament a little inside when the pretty pictures and story came to an end. But getting out into the sun was refreshing too, after being in the dark corridors of the castle. "Where do you want to go to next? I've always wanted to ride one of the teacups! Can we go there? Please please please?"
Although Leon initially asked, he had never been one to wait for permission, as he dashed off through the crowd towards the attraction. Of course, it was crowded, and much to his dismay, a line had formed. Even if it *was* a Tuesday, why were there so many people here? "Wanna wait or go somewhere else?"

tagged: leon. date: may 1st, just before noon.notes: rp swap. Moose really didn't get the explanation at all. Something with thread? He barely knew what thread was--the stuff his clothes were made of he guessed--but the whole thing flew so far over his head it was practically in orbit. After a moment, he decided that no, it really didn't matter. He understood the story well enough--some curse, the lady falls asleep, some guy kisses her and kills the dragon--or was it a witch? Either way, he got the idea, even if he thought it was a bit weird.
It was a damn good thing that Moose was both fast on his feet and quite tall, because otherwise he wouldn't have been able to keep track of Leon. As the boy dodged off, Moose let out an unfortunate little grunt before going after him, giving not a single crap about those he pushed out of his way to keep up. He really wasn't expecting anyone to catch sight of Leon and go all hog-wild over him, but the possibility did exist, and he really wasn't looking to press the issue.
He didn't know what the 'teacups' were, although he did know what tea was, and it was giving him a headache thinking about it.
The line wasn't as much of an issue for Moose, and he craned around before looking back to Leon, hoping he wasn't going to dash off before he had time to finish. "If you want to go on this one, we should just wait. Pretty much everything we've passed has had a line." And considering how many people were milling about, he was pretty sure most rides would have some kind of line.
Plus, staring over the teacups themselves, he was pleased to note that the ride wasn't enclosed--height wouldn't be an issue for him here at least.

Leon looked at the teacups. He really wanted to go, but if he waited he'd get bored. Decisions, decisions. If he waited now, he could go. Plus, even if he came back later, it was doubtful that the line would have shrunk. So when moose suggested that the two of them wait in line, Leon had already convinced himself that it was a good idea to do just that. "Okay! We can wait." Leon skipped over to the end of the line. When he arrived, he tried to stand on his tippy toes in order to look at the line in front of him, to see the progress of it. Even though it hadn't moved since the last time he checked.
Granted, it wasn't a very good idea. Because, given his height, he couldn't really see past the first guy. Standing on his toes gave him, what, an inch? Not very good. Still, he swerved his head around to see if he could get a little better of a view. "It's really long, isn't it?" So maybe Leon was exaggerating that point, it wasn't really that long. Only as long as was necessary for such a popular ride.
"You're gonna ride with me, right? I don't wanna ride alone." Now and again there was that size problem, but Moose was probably a better judge than he was about it.
