This base is highly reclusive and cut off from most of the society, some even doubt its existence - preferring to be left to their work, and is often only in contact when they find something truly breaking. The place is protected by an old, mystical barrier, assumed water in nature, driving people away ad confusing them.

♦ Tutela Island
Location; Link
A secluded and carefully guarded retreat, Tutela is located in the Pacific sea, near the eastern Asian branches (and most often associated with them), but at the same time is completely separate. Tutela is one of the most well-known training grounds for the society, with a slightly less prominent but still important base of operations, is most certainly the man attraction of the Asian branches, and in a real-world equivalent, being sent an invite to train there is like being accepted into an Ivy League school. They also accept a certain number of voluntary trainees every few years, as well, and anyone who wants to gain a little ground in the society would be stupid not to try for a spot.
The island itself is like an entirely different world – tropical, quiet, and almost completely removed from modern society. Higher ranked benefactors from the society are what keep the place running - a large number from the Asian branches, a few from the Soviet Union and Australia, and a particularly significant society funder from the United States, as well. They send in donations where they can, whether in money or supplies, keeping the place functioning and flourishing – though some sacrifices do have to be made as such a island, so cut off, is difficult enough to maintain electricity and food supplies shipped out on.
It's mostly reserved entirely for training, both combat and scholarly (it holds one of the largest pools of information for the society on this side of the earth), but its also known as a place of retirement for those who wish to pass on their knowledge, with a limited section of residences for them. It also has housing for the occasional vacationer (Tutela will occasionally accept high-ranking visitors who want to see this commodity the society has hidden), and temporary residents who wish to study the ruins and relics placed under the earth there.
The ruins, in particular, are a point of great interest – one of the most intact pieces of architecture of the old kingdoms lies far beneath the island, most of it having been thoroughly explored but it's still a mystery. This is also where the object that holds the barrier up around the island lies. The barrier is of spirit element – very telling of what kingdom the ruins once belonged to – and acts very similar to the Bermuda triangle in that if a ship passes, it passes unharmed, but they cannot recall the island they saw, nor recall several details of what they did while near the island. A few ships have tried to land in the past – but with the mass amount of skilled fights on the island, it often proved a terrible idea. The waters near it are less that suitable, as well – unless the ship has navigational maps to get through the shallow waters and rocks, which, naturally, only the society has..
