tagged: Giovanni & Arcturus. time:May 5, 10am. speech: komau. notes: . Today was a day for no joking, for no sweet smiles and for zero lighthearted comments. There were no hugs or affectionate pats, and definitely no carefree attitudes.
No, not today.
Today, they planned to kill an angel.
Komau had received word from Giovanni just a few days before to begin research on the three entities themselves, known as Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos. It was documented that on the twenty third day of April, the angel known as Clotho was murdered. Many of the details were unknown, but the Society knew that this wasn't the work of mere humans. No, it was not possible...or was it? Giovanni wanted to know how she was killed, to know who killed her and with what. From then on, Komau had a strikingly bad feeling about all of this. The last time the man ask a big task of him things got a bit...well, chaotic.
Arcturus, on the other hand, was probably also curious. Komau hadn't spoken to her about these orders yet, though he fully intended to very soon. Gio had likely ordered Arc to do something else, which probably meant that he had something up his sleeve. His plans tended to be rash albeit effective. His methods were quite aggressive when it came to civillians and their interactions with Fate, too. Arc had the balls of a wooly mammoth on steroids so she wouldn't easily be spooked by this. Madaki, however, felt chills as he continued the research.
Dressed in a pair of loose-fitting denim jeans and a bright blue polo (today was Saturday, after all, which meant that he was pulling extra hours for weekend duty) Komau sat at his desk sipping on a cup of fresh coffee when he noticed a pop-up on his screen. It had been a message from Giovanni; that never typically meant anything good. Komau normally associated with himself and his department only (including the occasional chat with Arc, of course) but he typically didn't speak much to Giovanni. He was a difficult individual to talk to, after all, and just not dealing with him was easier than trying to force him to change. Komau adjusted his glasses and read the message on the screen.
Clearly, Giovanni had something important to discuss, and Komau guessed that it had something to do with his research. He would bet his entire salary that Arc would be there, too. It wasn't often that the three were in the same room together, but when they were, it was something serious. Komau saighed and gathered his leather-bound artifact, tucking it underneath his arm as he reached or his coffee. The giant door swung silently behind him as Komau left his office, making his way to the designated briefing room. Sometimes he enjoyed being a Consul, but sometimes it was just a giant headache. He honestly had no idea what the results of this meeting would be, but he still feared.
And after this meeting, fear would begin to describe it.

After sending a message to the other two leaders Giovanni also made his way to the meeting room. At first he had thought to have the two meet him in his office, but due to the nature of this meeting it needed to be done properly. While Arc was off playing around with suspected awaken, and Ko was busy doing research, Gio had taken to doing his own kind of research. With the case of Clotho's death under his control he had turned some of his best trackers loose into the city to find the cause. Yet there was no signs of the murderer.
Giovanni had a feeling that if the cause could stay hidden so well and be so powerful that the IS might be dealing with something quiet powerful. The first thought was that the murdered could be one of the other angels, or someone they had created. Either way both the angels and the cause of Clotho's death needed to be stopped and destroyed. Giovanni made it to the meeting room before the others, he sat down a few folders onto the large table and took a seat as he waited. He know that neither Komau or Arcturus would have him wait long. For as difficult as both was to deal with they did know the importance of their job, otherwise Giovanni would have had them "removed" ages ago. Though to remove a leader was not an easy task, and normally meant death in some way.
He wore a rather interesting outfit, while in the office people would wear jeans and random outfits, Giovanni had a thing of wearing a more traditional clothing. Clothing that was made with designs of clothes were during the time of the kingdoms. The man had his own cap, but it went well with the sword that never left his side. There were always the talk among his staff about how he looked (let along acted) like some noble or emperor. Of course when not working (though he almost never stops) Giovanni does were more normal outfits, from dress shirts to suits. Still Giovanni dressed this way for a reason, his clothes were made for battle, but in looks and in use. Nevertheless today's meeting would have no battle, but a talk of one.
The first one to come in was Komau, Giovanni stood and greeted the other man. "Komau, sit, Arcturus should be with us shortly."

Life in a sling, she decided, was a bitch.
She probably would have been out of it by now, had she not kept shamelessly disobeying the order to not move her arm too much. Oh sure she kept the sling on – but one can still maneuver while in one. Awkwardly, but it can be done. Naturally, being a woman who simply didn't have time for this namby-pamby shit, she used her arm as she needed it, gritting her teeth through any pain. At this point, for the most part, the pain was minimal, and her stitches would apparently be taken out in four or five more days, so all in all the injury acquired in the fight with the earth elemental over a week and a half ago was almost healed.
But she was still forced to wear the damn sling.
Arcturus was doing what she normally did when she got the ping on her phone that told her there was a message from someone important, working around the contraption while maintaining her hobbies. She was sat in her office chair, several pieces of different guns laid out over the paperwork on the desk, while she held an intact firearm firmly in the hand that was attached to her injured shoulder and was meticulously cleaning it with the more mobile hand. She ignored the sound for a few minutes, face pushed closed to her work, unwilling to simply drop it and run – especially since was was in the delicate, hard-to-reach spaces.
This went on for a good few minutes before the ex-military woman let out a frustrated grumble, set her handful of things on the desk with a clatter, and snatched her phone up. And much as she wanted to choose to ignore Giovanni's message, she couldn't – she fucking hated having the other leaders around, because suddenly, not everything was done her way, and she had to compromise and ugh.
Couldn't she just deport them?
Despite all the inner moodiness (which was undoubtedly at least fifty percent due to her sling – it had a stat bonus of +50% grump), she pushed herself up and started to head for the door, but before she even got two steps away, she turned, pocketed the cloth and cleaning rod she'd been using and grabbed the rifle she'd been attending to, slinging it over her uninjured shoulder lazily and making for the meeting room. She nodded at a few people she knew as she passed them along the way, smirking in amusement as at least one gave a nervous look at her weapon and skittered away. Sadly such intimidation tactics would very likely not work for her fellow leaders.
Pity.
She wasn't surprised when she opened the meeting door to find both of the men already there, seeing as she'd pointedly ignored the message at first. Nevertheless she didn't seem the least bit phased about being at least five minutes behind the others (perhaps pushing on ten), closing and pointedly locking the door shut behind her, knowing better than to leave it unattended. “Boys.” she stated idly, moving towards the long table and setting her rifle on it with a clatter. She pulled her cleaning supplies out, set them next to it, and took a seat in front of her arranged distraction.
“I assume this is important. Maybe even life-changing.” she paused, her lips twitched, and her dark eyes settled on Giovanni. “Did Gio finally shit that massive stick out? That would definitely be life-changing.”
Notes: Classy Arc. Also she's STIILL entering threads with gun in hand.

tagged: Giovanni & Arcturus. time:May 5, 10am. speech: komau. notes: . This was most definitely not the time to laugh; however, a small chuckle escaped Komau as his favorite coworker stepped into the room. Snarky as ever, I see... He was concerned for her arm but decided not to bring it up. Arc would simply make fun of him about "caring" or something. But still - this woman had to be his favorite. Not because of her badassery or her massive collection of guns, just one thing: attitude. This woman was a walking piece of work, and Komau admired her for it. But he'd never tell her that, of course. Gio, on the other hand, was exactly how Arc made him out to be. It was interesting to see him interact with other people due to his personality being so...rigid. Komau, being the analytical person that he was, tended to watch him and make silent judgements.
"Well, with all due respect, I find it quite amusing that you know what exactly what was shoved in there..." The Consul leaned back in his chair and smiled broadly, displaying his very well-kept teeth. Without looking in his direction, Komau could have sworn there was a pair of eyes now glaring at him. He couldn't get away with jokes like Arc, but he slipped them in there on occasion for good measure. Besides, life was too short to just sit around winding your watch and scratching your butt. But the beautiful thing about this was that Gio had no direct control over him. The Imedio Society was made up of three Consuls, meaning that each had their own divisions and things to tend. So he was safe; that is, until Gio decided to hire a hitman and murder him in his sleep. Wouldn't really surprise Komau.
"Ahem, excuse me." To ease the awkward tension that had been building in the room, Komau cleared his throat and tried to initiate the meeting. If things were going to be this awkward, Komau just wanted to be done with it all. Already he felt that his valuable time was slipping away; he had plenty of things to be working on right now. But it was best not to make the man mad, so Komau kept pushing for the meeting to officially begin. "So, what's happening Giovanni? Assuming this is a pretty important meeting. Been a long time that you've called Arc and me here at the same time..." The tanned man leaned forward at the desk sipping his coffee, hoping that the meeting would hurry up and start. Komau wanted to get this over with as quickly as possible; he could sense his dread projecting itself on his coworkers, and that alone kept him from being intimidating. Arc, on the other hand, was likely thriving from Komau's uncomfortable-ness. [/b][/div][/div][/center]

Giovanni did give Komau quiet a look, it want one thing to deal with Arc's antics, but now Komau? Choosing to ignore Arc's comment Giovanni took Komau's prompt to start the meeting. He stood and picked up the files that he had bought over to share with the two before him. He opened the folder and pulled out reports and picture to set on the table between Arc and Komau.
"As you are both aware, the "angel" known as Clotho was murdered by an unknown creature. After both a full detail sweep over the crime scene and the area with trackers, it has been determined that the killer was not an awakened, or at least not just an awakened. Beast fur, that can not be identified was found, along with animal tracks and the fact that the Air element had been used." He pointed to the pictures taken and the reports attached to them.
"The creature is either an awakened summon creature, or something created by the entities Destiny or Fate. For now I have my trackers on search for the thing responsible, we can not leave whatever it is out there unchecked. An update was not the only reason I called you both here." He walked over to the nearest computer, typed a few words and waited for the screen on the far wall to go live. The screen flickered and then showed a short video that was taken by one of Gio's trackers. The video showed the camera man following one of the other angels, this one known as Lachesis. After a few minutes the video was cut and Giovanni began to speak.
"Lachesis has been found and is under watch by my trackers. Since we know they can be killed I think it is time we set up a plan to destroy Lachesis while I have her on our radar. Your thoughts?"

She turned a wicked smile towards Komau at his questioning on how she knew what bug was up Giovanni's ass, answering in the most matter-of-fact way. “Oh you know. Thorough background and medical checks. In case I need to deport someone.” Ah yes, her favorite way to remind anyone who was transferred here that this was her damn jurisdiction, globe-wide emergency or not. The artifact expert was a more acceptable presence than Giovanni was at least, but he was still another authority that could question her, so she always remained carefully on the line of civility with him – and made he remembered who's country he was in. This line of conversation – and thought - was cut off there, however.
When Giovanni pointedly ignored her and carried on with what he wanted to say (and very effectively proving her point about the stick), she sighed a bit and reached for her rifle again, propping it up and feeding one of the rods into a gap along the barrel, her entire focus seeming to drop onto the weapon. That didn't mean she wasn't listening, though – she just needing something to do. Sitting still wasn't a strong point of hers. Her expression pinched at the mention of the death of one of the angels – something that was no small feat, and to her an ill omen – not that she felt a loss for the thing, it was a good thing, those angels were the cause of several awakenings, undoubtedly – no better question was what did it.
The description of what was left gave her an impression she'd heard this somewhere...though she wasn't sure where. She made a mental note to do a little research later into the society's archives – which she would naturally never admit to doing, it ruined her take action first think later image. Plus it wasn't really her strength – Arcturus was well aware she was all guns, violence, and sass, not books or investigation or always having the answer. This thought was, naturally, accented by her holding her rifle out a moment to critically assess what she still had to do to it.
When she heard the cracked sounds of the video, however, she did glance up, at least for a few moments, to see what was on it. It gave her some pause, and she hesitated to go back to her task, dark eyes fixed on the screen. At first, what Giovanni said didn't fully kick in to her, and she stared at the screen where the fuzzy outline of wings attached to a small, feminine body. Finally, however, it seemed to sink in, and the woman gave a short, barking laugh. “Since we know they can be – ha – killed by what, exactly? We have no idea what did it, no idea what it took to do.” she declared, expression torn between shock and amusement. “Don't get me wrong, gettin them outta the picture would lessen our workload by a fuckton, but unless you pull a magical cannon that fires dragons out your ass, how the hell are we gonna do that?”

tagged: Giovanni & Arcturus. time:May 5, 10am. speech: komau. notes: . It was no secret that the entity known as Clotho had been recently murdered. But the Society still had a very important question - how? Up until today there had been little to no evidence at the scene of the crime. Komau hadn't noticed any stronger sightings of elementals either, which lead him to believe that this was something else. This was his area of expertise, research and all, so he had been studying it just after it happened. So far nothing had been outstanding as far as leads, but Komau had feared what he might find. And now, Giovanni was about to show them a video of things. The tanned South African chewed on his bottom lip in anticipation, noticing the tension that had been building in the room. Komau was an analyst, after all, and he noticed Arc's reaction to hearing about the death of Clotho. No surprise there - anyone who knew the severity of this should have crapped their pants, especially when told that they weren't sure by who or what. These beings didn't go down that easily...
Now, upon hearing the news further, Komau suddenly lost interest in his warm cup of coffee. "Wait - beast fur? Arc you're right on this one. We've really got a pile of nothing to go on... I don't think it was an elemental, though. Humans, through the power of Fate, and sometimes dumb luck, have occasionally been able to overcome an elemental provided the conditions were ideal. These angels are much more potent celestial beings than elementals, so how could even an elemental be a match for an angel? The fur is our biggest clue right now. Gio - I'll contact the research team and have them send the sample directly to me after this meeting. I want to have a closer look at it myself." He desperately wanted to know what this thing was and why no one could associate this with any known animal. This felt like a very important clue, but it left Komau with a sense of emptiness - there weren't enough pieces to unravel this mystery, and things like that bothered Komau a great deal. And with this next video, the Consul became speechless. He had ideas of how these angels looked, but now he had seen one. And it looked so delicate. To think that something so petite could hold so much power...it was simply breathtaking. And in the Impedio Society's case, breathtaking was a horrid thing. For whatever reason, he could not pry his eyes away from the screen, mesmerized by the fact that Giovanni was able to track this being so effortlessly. Surely she had noticed, right? But it appeared as if she were ignorant to the rest of the world.
In the next moment, Komau heard the most radical idea ever. Giovanni wanted to kill an angel. Hearing Arc speak up reassured Komau that this plan was more insane than anything else their radical Consul had considered. Knowing fully well that he was not the easiest person to get along with, the analyst wasn't willing to jump up and start arguing the point. He had to approach this carefully, which meant thinking before speaking. Calmly, he collected this thoughts before questioning this thought process. "So you're telling me you want to kill Lachesis... I'd just like to point out that, like my dear friend Arc was saying, we don't know what in God's name kills an angel. Do they have a weakness? Do they bleed just like you and me? Are they susceptible to the powers of an awakened individual? You don't know, do you?Giovanni listen - this is mad!" Now, after the increasing intensity of his voice, Komau found himself leaning forward over the desk with both hands pressing down. "You're out of your crazed mind, Giovanni! Yes we're growing stronger each and every day, but this? Don't you think that you've gone a little too far this time?" Realizing that his hands were pressing down hard enough to cause him to shake, he took a deep breath and relaxed, calming himself to keep from shaking further. He lowered himself back into his chair and rubbed his eyes, trying to make sense of this all. "Look, do as you will with your angel hunt, but count me out. I'll help with any artifacts or weapons that you might need, but I can't even begin to describe how absurd this is."

For once Gio couldn't help but laugh a bit at the other two leaders, yes they could wonder how to kill something, while Gio was all about, if it can be killed then he would kill it. Giovanni had no problem with Komau doing some extra research, to be fair Giovanni himself was not the sit down and think type, but he knew how useful Komau's mind was. Sure they were doubtful about killing an angle but Giovanni was convinced that it was doable. Yes he had looked into at least that much, he had a plan, not a complete one, but a start, he just needed Ko and Arc’s input. He took a seat and reached to his side to unsheath his sword, a weapon passed down through years of his family being a part of the IS, so far back his ancestors were recorded to be from the Air Kingdom. His children, unknown to all but himself, were mixed descendants of both Air and Fire, and a hint of Shadow, something he would probably never share with them, although he knew Arc and Komau would know of this top secret information.
”To answer a few of your questions, yes they bleed, yes they can die, and though some information gathering we now know that they are weakened. If you want speak with my son, he was the one that lead the team that are tracking Lachesis. I sent him to gather information and he returned making sure that he would not be a disappointment. From what we have gathered over time and recently, these angels are the reason for the increase in awakened humans. It is due to the awakening that we have learned that not only are they making some sort of connect with these people but are gaining power for every one they awaken. Meaning that attacking early will be better than waiting until later.” He ran his hand over the dull side of his sword as he thought about his next statement, he was not too pleased with his next suggestion, but it was a good one.
”Now the weapons that we have might not be enough, but we do have a vault full of powerful items, I am pretty sure Komau knows of a few that would help, without having to deal.. with that Lupus creature.” Of all people Giovanni hated Lupus, the man never ages and knew more than Giovanni was comfortable with. He was sure they could do without the white haired man. ”Either way we are here to make some decisions, although I am sure we could come up with the best plan of attack, I can understand that there may be some fears or concerns on the attack proposal. For now all I have ordered is for information to be collected and this angel to be kept a close eye on.”

She kept her lips pursed and her expression closed as Komau spoke up against Giovanni as well, glancing between the two other leaders and the firearm that had been left unattended in her hands in the wake of the shock of this suggestion. She fiddled with a few pieces as the two men spoke one after another, absorbing what was said but felt far away from the conversation in that brief moment. She honestly wasn't sure how to react to this suggestion. She'd been in many fights with the supernatural, elementals of every kind, even a powerful creature of shadow corruption once, a couple years ago, but this was a whole other league, for all of them. 'Family would be happy as fuck about it...pat me on the back and tell me I made my namesake proud' she thought in a derisive tone. She may have been happy with her duty to the society now, but that didn't mean she'd grown out of disliking the naming caste system her family upheld.
She finally tuned back in with Giovanni's movement to bring forth his sword, and Arcturus raised a skeptical eyebrow at his words. “Oh yeah because I'm sure they're not immune to a giant flaming sword or anythin', 'cause surely someone would have tried that by now and found that it was effective – oh wait.” she stropped for dramatic effect, tone leaking sarcasm everywhere as she pinned Giovanni with her most unimpressed look – you know, that one normally reserved for newer agents who did exceedingly stupid shit and ended up injuring themselves in her training runs. “Enchanted weapons are nice and all, but they can only take ya so far. They work on normal creatures, and sure they may effect this thing, but the fuckin' large question is 'will it effect it enough'? Because I'm pretty sure the answer is a 'no' with a side order of 'horrible death'. I ain't scared to die, but I think we'd be marginally less helpful like that.” she added in, tone leaning more towards dry at the end. Arcturus was very confident in her battle and tactical expertise – but that only took you so far.
She supposed what bothered her more than the fact that Giovanni had started spewing batshit suggestions was the fact that a part of her agreed with him that it was a fair idea, if executable. The idea of less people who the other leader was trigger-happy to kill was a good one – she was so very tired of pointing out with every encounter that powers didn't make a person a danger until they abused them, and the less arguments about it the better, before she actually finished filling out that paperwork to have him deported that still sat half-finished in her desk. There was a silence for a minute as the woman's expression grew thoughtful, an idea occurring to her. “If we do this – and I'm not saying we are until your crazy ass finds a way to actually attack effectively - we have to lure her. You said she'd been awakening people and in the process creating ties with them? Do we have any information of these 'connections'? Are they in our database or do we have any way of telling which ones they are?”

tagged: Giovanni & Arcturus. time:May 5, 10am. speech: komau. notes: . Giovanni was surprisingly calm about all of this, which freaked poor Komau out even more. If this man was having some sort of psychosomatic symptoms this was the last place they needed to arise and take form. Just the sheer idea of this was too much for Komau, as it should have been for anyone else. He sat intently, biting his tongue and listening to the long, drawn-out explanation Gio had prepared. Komau wasn't exactly buddy buddy with Gio's son, volunteering to stay far, far away from the Accurso family (you know - just in case they were anything like pops here). The Consul knew all about Lachesis awakening individuals and causing more trouble than should be allowed; there was no mistaking, however, the fact that the moment of silence after Giovanni's explanation was deafeningly silent. Even Arc, as ballsy as she was, had to stop and ponder on what all of this meant.
Komau shifted in his seat uncomfortably, wishing that there were some way he could talk this man out of it. But deep down he knew better - when Giovanni had a plan it would take divine intervention to keep him from following through. Once he was thrown into the mix, the young man needed to interject somehow. He tossed his hand up and shook his head frantically, wishing that he could just wriggly himself free from this whole ordeal. "Now Giovanni, you know better than to be talking to me about weapons. I'll do some research, but I'm fairly certain that even our most powerful weapons aren't going to be that effective..." He stopped for a moment, listening to Arc's argument for the whole matter. Now it was again his turn to speak up. There was an idea, albeit a crazy one, that just might work. "That Lupus creature, as you so put him, as helped us out many times in the past. I'm not saying to rely on him, but Giovanni he's helped us to accomplish some pretty important things. Arc -" Komau turned his gaze to his co-worker "- why not get some of those enchanted bullets of yours? Last time I studied them they were stronger than most every weapon that he have in our vaults. We've only since collected a few, which I doubt have any amazing properties. Giovanni before you open your trap listen - if you want to live, I suggest looking at our best options and going from there. As for me, I'm honestly not going anywhere near that thing, so I'll stay back at HQ and communicate via satellite so I can watch it all." He wasn't afraid to admit that he was going nowhere near that thing, be it angel or the devil himself. There was no way.
But Arc's previous comment was right. How in the world did they anticipate getting to her? They needed some bait, and this was where Komau's knowledge came in handy. "If we need bait, we may have to use someone with a strong connection to Fate. So far there's Lucas O'Connor and Kittim Curtis, both of which have been reported to being awakened. By the way, Arc, I read your report on Lucas - nicely done, if I may say so." The young African man allowed himself a mischevious smile. "Then we've got Alec Matthews. Nice kid but he'd be eaten alive in two seconds. Lukas Madeleine could post as nice bait, but I don't know very much about him at this time. Oh and then there's Ana Johan. She works at a restaurant and...well, gosh I'll have to check with my files. Any of those stand out to you, Arcturus?" Regardless of her rather brash demeanor at times, Komau often looked to her for opinions on particular subject matter. That's most likely due to the fact that Giovanni was seen as some weirdo that no one really liked to talk to (in Komau's department at least) and there was even rumor that Gio wasn't even human at all. Funny enough Komau had wondered about the man himself, barring the fact that he'd been working with them for a little while now. He was an interesting fellow, no doubt, but he was also very loyal. But Arc seemed to think things through a little more thoroughly, and as the calculated person that he was, Komau was in no rush to lead everyone to their death.

If there was one thing Giovanni liked about his co-workers it was the debates that he could have with them. He personally had no problem dealing with proving that he was right, or at least half right. Whether he liked it or not, they were a team, a team of powerful people. Sadly it seemed that only Giovanni was the confident one when it came to his abilities. He let the two banter, and added his opinion here and there. At least the plan was not completely tuned out, which meant for Komau’s fear or Arc’s worry there was room to make this plan work.
”If we have to deal with Lupus then Arc can handle that, now for the topic of bait, we do have two people that are suggested to have a connection with Lachesis. Although not 100%, do you both remember the reports on the Hollywood sign incident? Not only was it the first sighting of Lachesis but it is confirmed that a miss Josephine Atkins is awakened and this Ana Johan has a connection as well. I would suggest, for less trouble the waitress would be easier to.. borrow, then than kid. I can send a one of the hunters or trackers to pick the women up.” Then after all was said and do Gio would probably lock her up, or kill her as long as Arc stayed out of his way. One less problem to worry about.
At least the plan was being shaped, weapons could be found, bait would make things easier in luring the angel. Giovanni was willing to go up against the creature and knew, with time he would have Arc and any of his loyal hunters willing to help as well. What else did they need? More research? Gio was willing to give them a week or two tops, after that he would push for the plan to go into effect. He knew he was right on at least one thing, the longer they waited the stronger these angels would get.

She made a face at Giovanni at the distasteful way he spoke of the person who helped her with her weapons, but made no mention against it – she knew Lupus was definitely what most society would consider a threat, being entirely unnatural, but he'd never bore ill intent, and helped her with countless racks of ammo that helped her take out heavens knew how many creatures. Instead, she focused on the rest of what he said, the norrowing down of the list Komau had originally given, and she was unable to resist a comment to some of the others that had been discarded. “Just as well - O'Connor is a tool, and any smart supernatural being wouldn't use him as a connection. Same with Matthews, just add chicken shit as well. And Madeleine we have the hardest fuckin time tracking, he would have been a piece of work to research.”
She paused, leaning forward in her chair and setting her rifle on the table finally, eyes on Giovanni her gaze becoming harder, more critical as she seemed to consider something. “Alright, if we can actually get a weapon that can harm this thing, this sounds workable, but I suggest we still look into both these girls before we jump the gun. And either way, don't grab her until I say so, or I swear to fuck I will shoot you. And since I know you're an insensitive asswipe, bear in mind I don't tolerate mistreatment of people who have yet to give us a reason to do it. Yeah I know, human decency, what a concept.” she pointed out, jabbing a finger towards Giovanni. The former military was all for enforcing hard lines and harsh punishments – where they were needed. It was her main point of competition she had with the other leader – she refused to take up his utterly sociopathic methods to dealing with their problems.
After a few moments more of glaring, she leaned back slightly again, eying the firearm she'd carried with her. She reached out with the hand that wasn't restrained by a sling, running it along the side of the barrel with a contemplative face. She didn't know why she was agreeing to certain parts of a plan that had no signs of being able to take off – they had a large vault full of artifacts and lore and she was fairly sure not a bit would help them. She'd never heard of such an attempt in the history of the society, beyond the sealing of some particularly powerful creatures, and that was just it – sealing, not killing. “I dunno how much my everyday enchanted bullets will work. More powerful ones can take a long time to make. They've a kick because they're fresh, shiny enchantments unlike most our artifacts, but not that much of an extra kick. I'm fairly sure she'd be immune to most elements – if she wasn't, why'd she awaken people? What if they turned? They could kill her if she was able to be harmed by what they used. If she can cause a power to manifest, I doubt she'd do it knowing it could be turned against her. Sorry, but I can't magically invent a new element to enchant my bullets with.”

tagged: Giovanni & Arcturus. time:May 5, 10am. speech: komau. notes: . The more Komau thought this threw, the more anxious he felt sitting there. He was definitely no expert with firearms and he'd certainly not be going toe-to-toe with an angel with his claws. No he was mostly brains, the type of brains that took a situation and analyzed it from every possible perspective. He had travelled the world and exposed himself to multiple cultures, only enhancing his empathic communication skills and his ability to use another's point of view as his own. In this case, though, it was still provin difficult, but as he listened to the conversation going he could only worry. Giovanni first brought up Lupus, but Komau was thinking on a different sort of level altogether. Arc made some great points about the angel, and as soon as she took a break he wanted to interject with an idea.
"So, from what you're saying it wouldn't be a smart idea to use an element against this angel when she can just redirect it and use her own manifestation of the element against us, right? Spirit, Earth, Fire, Water, and Air are what we know that the angel can use. Now, before you pick up your gun and shoot me woman-" Komau turned his gaze to meet Arcturus, hoping that this idea wasn't about to earn him a swift bullet in the face, "- there's still something missing that we know the angel can't use. It's risky as hell, and no Giovanni I'm not asking for your permission because I know what you'll say, but Arc you know as well as I do that there's still an option. The last element...The one we know less about than any other, really. I think we all know what it is, too..." He honestly didn't want to say it out loud. The idea of using those bullets just...it didn't feel right, really. These were dangerous as hell, not to be taken lightly even by the most trained of all IS members. And by bringing this up, Komau was hoping that he wasn't simply making an enemy of himself to Giovanni. Though in all honesty he would be opposed, he was the type of man to go to almost any means to take down an angel. Radical in some ways and just an overachiever in others, Gio was not a person to be crossed. Neither was Arc, on that note, but this crazed man was on a whole different level of crazy. Given the circumstances, Komau knew that Gio wouldn't argue the point all that much; in fact, while he would never agree with it, that didn't mean he wouldn't disallow it completely. He would likely just want nothing to do with it.
"So, Giovanni, I'm going to be blunt here. While you decide on how you plan to kidnap these women, I'm going to work with Arc and see if we can't come up with a weapon. And we're going to have to resort to some pretty rough things. Just a heads up. Otherwise you two are going to die a miserable death while I sit back and watch, sipping on some warm coffee and listening to jazz music. Arc, what are your thoughts? We'd have to contact Lupus and get him to assist us once again, but as of yet he has not hindered our plans in any form or fashion. In fact, while Giovanni might be reluctant to request assistance, I'm more than happy to track him down and see if we can't work out something. But not until I get your approval since you'll be the one using the weapon. Giovanni you're just stick with your pointy stick that breaks wind." In a slight attempt to lighten the mood, Komau poked his finger toward Gio's sword.

Even though he disliked Lupus if they wanted to deal with the man that was up to the other two, just as long as Gio did not have to. Now the real topic was on hand, how to kill the angel. Everyone was dancing around the words, and Giovanni was honestly not sure if it was just for his sake. Yes he had a pass with that one element, if it could even be considered one. Still that did not mean that he would reject the idea of it was a good one, and to be fair the idea of using a shadow element was a good one.
”Shadow, yes that is a good idea. In fact it makes perfect sense. Komau isn’t there something in the records of the five elements being born of the angels, but of the shadows coming from the creation of our “fate”.” Not that Giovanni made much sense of it when he first learned their history, the more things happened the more his history lessons started to make sense.
He took to standing, feeling that this meeting was finally drawing close to an end. ”You two will deal with Lupus and some sort of shadow weapon or bullets. I will gather more information about those two girls, and Arc later we will speak about when I may collect one of them. More so I will keep my scouts on the look out, anything else that we need to go over my friends?” He was about done with this meeting, gaining what he wanted from it. Let them handle the planning, he’d do his part when it was needed.

She snorted when Komau made the comment about her shooting him. “It's empty anyway.” she admitted casually, popping the clip off with a light snap and turning it to show the lack of bullets. However, her nonchalant attitude quickly evaporated as she began to get what the archivist was suggesting – no she didn't want to shoot him, she wanted to send him to the medical wing to get his damn head checked. Maybe by her cousin, just for added effect. Her expressions range between a mix of horror and disbelief as he spoke, and was equally shocked when Giovanni agreed moment later.
Not trusting of her voice, she remained silent, her expression dark as she listened to the two of them, absorbing the information being flung at her. Shadow enchanted-items – they were highly dangerous and could corrupt weaker minds without even touching them. All three of them would be fine around them, of course, but touching and handling them for extended periods was another matter. Sure, they didn't have powers to corrupt, but they could still send someone into madness, and no one liked shooting a co-worker. Even if she disliked Giovanni, she really would rather avoid that paperwork if he went mad. But of course, she was the one they were suggestion use it, weren't that?
Way to ask my permission guys she thought bitterly, eying them both, but pinning a particularly nasty gaze at Giovanni as he seemed all for the idea of risking the former military's corruption via artifacts. Oh yay. Not to mention the little shit was attempting to dole out orders. Oh-ho-no, he may have came up with the idea, but if she was risking her mind in order to assist him in it, then goddamn, she was issuing orders. She managed to swallow her urge to say that straight off, however, finally speaking in regards to visiting Lupus for the enchanted items – which, ha, there was no way. In fact she wouldn't dare tell him what they planned, it was dangerous, and...against what many of them stood for.
“Lupus won't help us, not with this. Which...I can't damn blame him I don't think I wanna help either. And none of us knows shit on how to do this...” she drifted off, fingering the rim of the clip she'd removed a moment ago, thinking. Giovanni wouldn't part with his sword for this, even if it was pointless...but Arcturus, she had no such attachments to any particular weapon or preferences to elemental bullets. 'Can I quit' came a very petulant, whiny voice she hadn't heard in her mind for years, which she promptly squashed. No, she couldn't. “Madaki.” she spoke, voice carrying the sort of determined weight one would have should they have to make a choice between saving their sister or saving the several hundred people. “Look into the archives. Look deep. We have unlimited access and utmost trust so lets use it. Get me options. I'm going to go speak to Lupus within the next couple days...I'm just going to check on an order I made a while back but I have a few questions in mind while I'm there.”
There was a resounding click as she placed the empty clip back into her gun in her brief pause. “Accurso don't think you can get out of this either, you wanted to do this, you can work too.” As if it wasn’t obvious, she tended to switch to surnames when she meant business. Old military habit, she guessed. “Pick a lure spot. Remote, but with cover and obstacles for us to use. Preferably a high building as well, I need a vantage. Pick out a few options and leave them on my desk and I'll fit out formations. Also, pick out a team of people you trust the most, or people who are so scared of you they'd kill themselves before speaking against you – only a few, maybe ten or fifteen of them. We'll need distractions.”
She grabbed her rifle and stood back up, slowly, slinging it over her shoulder as she grabbed the long abandoned cleaning tools and shoving them back into her pockets. “Got a problem with it, you can do it without me and I'll sit back with Madaki with popcorn while you get ripped apart. Clear?” she added, a tone in her voice that dared either of them to speak against her, and an expression to match. “Then I need to go pick out a gun.” With that, she turned and headed for the doors, unlocking them with pop and striding out, a purpose in her gait and a pitiless depth in her eyes.

tagged: Giovanni & Arcturus. time:May 5, 10am. speech: komau. notes: . He could almost hear the deafening silence in the room as Arc sat deep in thought. Yes, Komau and Giovanni had certainly been responsible for throwing her under the bus, but Komau also knew that she was probably the best candidate to handle such a situation. With those shadow-enchanted bullets, if she opted to go that route, she probably had the strongest will out of any of the three, which was why she was so good at her job. Sipping on the last remnants of his coffee, the young Consul listened to Arc's plan of action. She wasn't exactly going along with what he hoped, but at least she "ordered" him to do the research. Without a word, he nodded in agreement to her demands. It was a simple task to do research, and who better for it?
Giovanni also surprised Komau by agreeing to whatever was necessary. He sort of expected it, but he seemed to be okay so long as he didn't have to deal with Lupus. That was fine, actually, because Gio might bring his sword and try to kill the thing. Which honestly wouldn't catch anyone as a surprise. But things were now falling into place, and as Arc stood up and grabbed her belongings, Komau reached over and grabbed his coffee. The meeting was now adjourned, but their task ahead was more ferocious than any ever taken by the Imedio Society. Komau sighed outwardly, shaking his head to clear his thoughts. This was not going to be a fun week at all, but if they could accomplish this, things would become that much easier. In fact, Komau was now starting to become a litttle excited at this... How many people could say that they slew a celestial being? How many? Oh that's right - none.
Komau nodded toward Giovanni and made way back to his office. Once there, he would begin his research and look as far into things as possible. If he found anything, he would send Arc a page to visit him when she had time. Giovanni, on the other hand, had his own way of handling things - hack and slash. So all the prep work would be done by these two, for the most part, which was what Komau preferred. Giovanni was good at the trapping and tracking part (not to mention charging in with a sword - he was pretty good at that, too) which Komau preferred a different type of approach. But with the three great minds working together, they would definitely figure out how to kill an angel.
