Living Situation Gabi hails from a lower-middle class family in San Diego. They can never seem to afford much, but they're happy. Gabi's had a part-time job since she was 16 in order to save up some money, but has a tendency to blow what she has on stupid shirts, ugly sweaters, and cute shoes. S-Still, she does have some saved up, so...! And while she's living at home over the summer, come fall she'll be moving into the CalTech dorms. Student - An incoming CalTech freshman, majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics. Ordinarily, the steep tuition costs would bar her from so much as even glancing in the direction of the school, Gabi managed to score a couple of scholarships to help lessen the financial blow for her parents. She can't wait to get out of the house. Blogger - An avid Tumblr user under the URL 'shakespearesexual.' She got into blogging when she was about 14-years-old, and has grown a huge follower base over the years that increases every day. She's a fairly popular celebrity on the site, and has found the experience hilariously stupid. She mostly posts text posts and selfies, and answers awkward anonymous messages with Spiderman pictures. She's actually been recognized while out and about in San Diego, much to her utter amusement. Please note that she's the one who started the Unlucky Swimmer Boy meme, and takes great pride in that fact. Disney Princess - You'd never believe it, but it's true. Gabi applied to work as a face character at DisneyLand as soon as she turned 18, so she would be able to work in the park over the summer. It's been her dream since she was a kid to work there! As luck would have it, she got the part, and as her favorite Disney princess no less. She now gets to walk around as Belle and do meet and greets during the morning, then makes another appearance for the parade in the afternoon. She's only working over the summer, however, and will have to hang up her crown come fall. 02. Appearance Gabi's the kind of quirky cute that makes brooding white male protagonists swoon. She's a 5'8" bombshell with a busty figure, the kind that women in their late 40's would die for. She tends to lapse into periods where she puts on a few extra pounds, however, especially during holiday season when she's liable to overeat. Her skin is tan and her muscles toned from days spent on her high school swim team, but beyond that she's never really put in the effort to stay in shape. She'll occasionally jog in the evening, but otherwise she'd rather sit in front of her laptop than exercise. She's got a head of messy brown curls that on a good day look nice, and on a bad day look like something's trying to take flight off her scalp. She's prone to pulling it into a ponytail when it's really, really bad. She's got a pretty face, but doesn't take the time to do much with it- she barely gives herself a second glance in the mirror most mornings, hence why she tends to have a bedraggled appearance throughout the day. She might put on some makeup if she's so inclined, but more often than not the most she'll do is dab on some mascara and put on some chapstick. Her hazel eyes are her best feature, or at least in her opinion they are. When she smiles they tend to distract people from the gap between her two front teeth, an object of self-consciousness as a child that she's since grown out of. Calluses spot her hands where she's done hard work before, though the chipped nail polish on her fingernails suggest this hasn't been for quite some time. She smells distinctly of cinnamon, thanks to the aroma candles her mom keeps lit all around the house. She's very much a hoodies girl, and owns an entire closet full of them. She also has a wide variety of stupid, silly tee shirts, as well as a collection of horrible Christmas sweaters, all of which she's bought over the years off the Internet. Gabi has mastered the art of dressing herself up to look like she didn't even try to dress up at all. While most days she'll just throw on a hoodie and a pair of shorts, she manages to pull it off to actually look like she's not just bumming around in whatever looked clean. She's a big fan of leggings and thigh highs though, and will match them with skirts and ankle boots because, as much as she doesn't like to admit it, she does love girly clothes and fashion, and likes to indulge every so often. 03. Personality A note of caution: Gabrielle Alberts is dangerous. She's like fire: pretty to look at, but get too close and you're likely to get burned. Although she comes off as cool and distant at first glance, upon getting to know her it becomes apparent that Gabi is anything but. Loud, brash, and obnoxious to a fault, she sees her life as a kaleidoscope: full of color and light! She's fun-loving and adventurous, always looking for excitement in everything she does (and more than happy to drag people along for the ride). She pursues everything she wants with cheerful determination- she makes her own fate, and will accept nothing but exactly what she wants, when she wants it. She has plans, after all: places to see, things to do, people to meet! In the end, the only person she can blame her failures on is herself, and she can't allow that. She has no time to waste worrying about every little detail; she's got too much to do and see! It's because she doesn't pay attention to the little things, though, that more often than not other's true intentions go unnoticed by her. She's too easygoing to seek vengeance, but push her too far and chances are she'll snap. Gabi takes things far too lightheartedly to really be hurt by other's words and actions; she'll probably come back with a biting retort of her own. Still, she can be hurt just as easily as the next guy. Gabi may be a clown, but she's not as thick-skinned as she can come off to be. and while she doesn't exactly wear her heart on her sleeve, she doesn't open up to just anyone, either. She jokes around and laughs things off, but at the end of the day she has to make an effort not to take anything seriously. She doesn't want to show that others' words can hurt her, so she'll joke it off rather than admit she was effected. Having trolltastic tendencies, she will gladly use people for her own amusement. It's not that she actually wants to hurt anyone; far from it! She just gets bored far too easily. She seeks entertainment in everything she does, and if that means bringing some hapless stranger down with her, than so be it. And if it's a friend, than all the better! It's why she spends so much time watching TV shows or playing video games or hanging around on the internet; there's always something for her to do, at any time of the day, and it's all right there at her very fingertips! what more can a girl ask for? She's the biggest hypocrite she knows, and boy does it show. She'll tell someone off for doing something, than turn around and do the exact same thing she was just mouthing off about. Her convictions are as flighty as she is, and she changes her mind like a girl changes clothes. She doesn't seem to care or mind that her thoughts and opinions are about as solid as air- perhaps in her mind it seems like an asset. If she doesn't stand for something, she can stand for anything. If she gets into an argument, she can change her stance at the drop of a hat. There are some things she is passionate about, however, and on those subjects you had better tread lightly. The number one rule when it comes to Gabi is that she always comes first. This rule does not apply to close friends and family, but to everyone else you can rest assured that you are the least of her concerns. In any given situation, she will be looking out for her own benefit, not the benefit of others. The only time she will lend a hand is if she believes it will either benefit her or amuse her in some way; if not, she'll be on her way. If you want her help, you have to make it worth her while, or she won't be bothered to so much as glance your way. If there's one thing to be said about Gabi, though, it's that her friends mean everything to her. Being so flighty, they're her anchor, her ground; without them, she'd be lost for sure! She can count the number she'd take a bullet for on one hand, and that's including her parents. She enjoys nothing more than to drag them headfirst into trouble with her, whether it's pranking passer-by or terrorizing strangers. (It's a wonder that they put up with all her shenanigans, to be perfectly honest). But she really does love them with all her heart, and would do anything for them- she doesn't always show it in quite the way they'd like, but she still cares for them deeply. 04. History no thesis existed for burning cities down at such a rampant rate When she was little, Gabi's favorite Disney movie was Peter Pan. Every night, she'd stay up late, waiting for him to whisk her away to Neverland. There, she could live with the Lost Boys, and go on adventures every day, and she'd never have to grow up and become an adult! Too bad for her, huh? Gabi was a happy accident for her parents, two teenagers in love who hadn't really wanted a kid. But when they found out her mom was pregnant, well, hey, who were they to complain?! The fact that her parents had had her while they were still so young shows in the way they raised her- it was a very "hands-off" approach. Her mom was more like a sister than a mother, and her dad was just... there. They were as warm and loving as any parents could be, don't get her wrong, but it went without saying that they hadn't really wanted her. (Picture the most stereotypical hippie Californians you can imagine.) (That's her parents.) Gabi grew up with the distinct feeling that everything about her life was boring. Everything around her was dull in comparison to the books she read and the movies she watched. She wanted to become a super hero, or travel the world, or have some kind of amazing, colorful life. But no, the greatest injustice of them all was that she was born without magical powers or some mystical destiny she had to fulfill when she turned 10. No great journey. No grand adventure. No epic odyssey. Nothing. So she decided to take matters into her own hands. If the world wasn't going to provide her entertainment, she'd just have to do it herself. It didn't help that her grandpa encouraged these thoughts taking root in her young head. Her grandpa was her hero as a child- he babysat her almost every day while her parents were either working or studying. He told her all about his own stories from throughout his life (some most definitely not for the ears of children), and was adamant that she could do anything she put her mind to, no matter how impossible it might seem. The day he died was the saddest of her life. Once school began, her days became a monotonous blur. Gabi was smart enough to pass most of her classes with minimal effort, which led to getting into all kinds of mischief and trouble in and out of class. She couldn't help it, she was bored. She almost made it a game to see how many parent-teacher conferences she could cause in a month. Where most kids have trophies from soccer or ballet, the very impressive number of referrals and detentions she has accumulated throughout her life are all neatly placed on a bulletin board in her room. It wasn't until middle school and she fell into a clique of popular girls that school stopped being quite so dull for her. Gabi wasn't necessarily attached to her group, sure, but they made her life more interesting. And that's how she came to learn that people were a form of entertainment themselves; the gossip and backstabbing and drama were all part of the game, and Gabi found she enjoyed playing it. While she never seeked out the limelight for herself, never became a starring role in the middle school soap opera, she did whisper a suggestion here, murmur a secret there, and then happily watched events unfold. Yes, it was all fun and games... until high school. And then suddenly, Gabi found herself stripped of the people she had called her friends, watched them all leave her to go to the same school together. She had no right to feel betrayed when she supposedly had no feelings for them, right? It was stupid, which was why she decided she had never cared about them to begin with. (Which was the biggest lie of them all.) She got lucky in her first day of high school, however, in that she came to meet two boys who would end up becoming her best friends for life: Hayden Green and Leon Everett. Together they got into all kinds of stupidity together- or, well, Gabi dragged Hayden into all kinds of stupidity, and Leon tagged along to make sure the two didn't kill themselves. Suddenly, her days were full of color and laughter- she didn't have to hold back or fit into a mold around Hayden and Leon. Here she had finally found two people she would willingly do anything for, and all they had to do was ask. While she loved Hayden and Leon with all her heart and adored dragging them on all kinds of dangerous and potentially lethal adventures, with high school came a new game: dating. It started in freshman year: a boy would ask her out on a date, she'd say yes, and she'd then proceed to eat so much and expect him to pay while they were out, the the poor boy would never asked her on another date again. Gabi became something of a serial dater, going on multiple dates but never actually seriously dating anyone, until her junior year. She had quite a few boyfriends, but there were only two who's names mattered: Taylor was a perfectly nice guy. He took her to see bad movies and made her laugh during math class. And then he broke up with her. The thing to understand about Gabi was that she was always the one to break up with her significant other first. She was not the dumpee. She was never the dumpee. Until Taylor, anyway. And for once she was on the receiving end of the blow to the heart, devastated as what she thought had been a perfectly nice relationship came crumbling down around her. Anthony had been a sweetheart for the first few weeks. He walked her home after school and taught her how to play the guitar. He thought she was cheating on him with someone else, so in retaliation he cheated on her with a mutual friend of their's. Of course, she hadn't been cheating on him, so she broke up with him the moment she found out. She was absolutely devastated though, as much as she didn't want to admit it, and didn't date anyone for a while after that particular break-up. In fact she hasn't dated anyone at all since. After her break-up with the A Grade Asshole, Gabi decided to focus her time and energy into spending time with her friends before they split up for college. Most of her friends weren't going to the same school as her, but when she found out that she, Hayden, and Leon had all been accepted into the same school and would be going there together, she was absolutely delighted! The idea that they might go their separate ways after high school had been a source of fear and anxiety for Gabi for almost a year. So at least for a little while longer, they'd still be friends. (Because she doesn't want to get left behind again.) 05. Misc
