It had actually started off pretty good in his opinion. The lovely but brutal mother of his children Shin’ya had only managed to hit him with one shoe today after she found him sleeping next to her; Nachi had slept over after taking the twins off the woman’s hands for a bit. He actually got a kick out of the fact that Shin’ya went so far to chase him out her apartment with a shoe in hand and a pissed off look on her face. Needless to say that he left for his family’s house to get a new change of clothes to save himself from getting hit. After a few minutes of driving, he had gotten to his house and set off to prepare for the day. However, one glance at the calendar made him pale in complete and utter shock. Today was the day for the Kendo Tournament! Silver eyes wide, the slight twitching occurring around his left eye was almost comical as he stood there staring at the calendar. He was supposed to be a part of the competition today since his brothers (or more like brother and wannabe brother) weren’t going to be a part of it this year. This year was his chance to shine and for once make it to the final match instead of having to stand on the sidelines and cheer on his brothers. It would finally be his moment. But damn it, he was late. Way too damn late to even go over to the Kendo Club and sign in. If anything, the second round of matches were probably happening just as he was standing there; he’d just be on the sidelines watching others. A sighing groan escaped his lips as he slightly frowned, silver eyes blazing with mild contempt as he stared at the calendar, only to turn around and walk out of his room. He knew it wasn’t the calendar’s fault that he missed the sign-in times (though he very much would like to think it was), so he would just forget about it for the year. And in hopes of forgetting the fact that he missed sign-ins for the tournament, he headed straight for the kitchen to find his immediate source of subtle comfort: the liquid poison known as alcohol. He needed something to relax him (or busy himself with) so the very first things that came to mind were alcohol and sex. Though, he would have to have lots of the latter to completely forget the matter. Internally, Nachi could hear a small voice at the back of his head that was criticizing him for his vulgar and utterly immoral thought process. It spoke of how it would completely shame his beloved mother and really, he knew this to be completely true; he had hated Mamoru when he was younger for how he treated Tsukiko. But another thought reared its head out as he tried to justify his actions: a wonderful person like Tsukiko had stayed with a horrible bastard like his father so she wouldn’t be too ashamed would she? And someone was bound to stay with him if he was just as horrible like how his mother stayed with his father. How could she not be ashamed? She was always embarrassed when father decided to bring his whores around here and we had company. Hell, I was even ashamed of father, he reminded himself. But despite his morality (and slight guilt) kicking in, the silver-eyed male still mixed himself a drink. Quickly after creating his medley of liquors, he gulped it down and headed outside for some air. Actually, he felt like taking a drive right now and any morally sane person wouldn’t take a drive after drinking so much alcohol, but after years of drinking different alcohols, it barely affected the dark-haired male anymore. Deciding against doing so, he opted for walking ever so aimlessly at the beach with an aloof air around him. He would occasionally glance at a pretty girl passing by or would get a few winks and blushes from different girls, but he didn’t feel like jumping at them for the moment. It was almost as if he felt compelled to behave himself for once as he went along. It was absolutely odd and if anyone who actually knew him saw that he was acting this way, they would probably be frozen with utter disbelief. They’d probably even say that the earth was probably going to end that very second just because of how behaved he was being for the moment, but in all honesty, he just felt too lazy (and sort of down) to hit on any girls right now. Perhaps later would be better. Finding an empty spot along the sand, the silver-eyed male sat down and started staring out at the sky, his mind drifting away like the passing clouds above. •••••••••• date: 03/09/12 time: early midday weather: neutral[/style] [style=font-size: 10px; color: #010101; text-align: center;]TEMPLATE BY SAMARECARM OF OTE + BTN[/style]

NOTES oh yes. bikini tiem.
TIMESTAMP 03/09/12 [/classy][classy=realicon]hover [/classy]❝ Was it ever a "kickass" day for Olivie? No, she couldn't say it was. A day was a day. Granted, some were more enjoyable and relaxing than others, but she had never been the energetic party type. Just lounging around at the beach or running simple errands was enough to keep her going. Most people wouldn't find her schedule to be terribly exciting. And, really, she'd have to agree. But it suited her. She was content. And days like this, clear days, warm days, days spent relaxing in the sand and watching the waves crawl lazily up the shoreline, made her borderline workaholic life worth living. She could stand to spare a little time to unwind.
The sun was rising higher into the sky and things were heating up. The water line was making its way up higher on the warm sand. The clear sky provided plenty of light, and, though for some it was a work day, with the weekend fast approaching the beach was starting to fill up with people. She had to wonder just how many of them had weaseled their way out of work to get there.
Her little white and pink bikini was a frilly little thing. The little ruffles oddly reminiscent of a frosted cupcake. No doubt the reason she was drawn to the thing. For a touch of modesty she'd tied a cream colored hipscarf at her side. To hell if it didn't match the white. Off white was close enough, and she wanted to get her behind to the beach and plop down in that toasty sand.
Basket and flower printed towel at her side, she continued along the beach, completely relaxed. Her purple eyes wandered to watch the waves rock back and forth, making sure not to lock gazes with any more of the beach goers than necessary. It was supposed to be a relaxing day. She didn't exactly want to be pestered.
So she ended up wandering just a little ways off from the crowd in search of an open spot, only to find a lone figure resting on the beach. Odd. She couldn't help but think it was strange he just singled himself out like that. Despite the fact she was trying to do the same thing. He was a handsome guy. Shouldn't he have been trying to draw the attention of the foxy little hipshakers sauntering up and down the beach? He was either innocent, mature, or down on his luck. Down on his luck. She was quick to decide. She wouldn't give him the benefit of the doubt before speaking to him.
Starting forward again, she couldn't help but watch him curiously, hoping to figure out just why he'd hidden himself away from the crowd. He was just staring up into the sky. Watching the wisps of clouds drift by overhead.
She couldn't quite tell if something was wrong yet, but from the empty look she caught in his eyes as she walked by, she was starting to get the hint that something was. "It's a nice place to think," she murmured softly, smiling at him and stopping just a few steps away from him, her gaze having yet to leave him.
She stood there quietly, her expression calm. A slight smile pulled at the corners of her lips, understanding. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] [/style][style=font: normal 10px arial; text-align: justify]Sometimes Joze had to question her sanity. Venice beach. She had somehow found her way to the beach, a place so far from her house. Well, at least this time she had gone out of her own accord instead of being dragged here. Honestly, she really thought that she should be doing some of her homework, or perhaps take an extra shift at work... No, she had made up her mind this time. This was the day that she was going to relax. She was going to stay on the beach. And she was going to like it. If not, she would force herself to like it. Joze didn't particularly hate the beach, in fact she frequented it when she was younger. Playing in the water with her siblings had always been fun, and sometimes if they were lucky, they'd buy ice cream. That was not the case now - her parents were working, and it was Len's turn to babysit their sister. Sometimes she thought her boss purposefully kicked her out to enjoy herself.
Midday was arriving and she already found herself out of things to do in the beach. She didn't particularly want to relive her childhood days by playing in the water and splashing little kids (that would be rather malicious of her to do so because of her age, but it wasn't like they knew the difference since she had a rather annoyingly small stature to begin with), or build sand castles (she didn't have a bucket or pail, and sitting in the sand all day was not exactly something she would like. Plus, building sand castles were a job for multiple people, and that was something she found herself lacking it).
Joze was disappointed in herself too. Even after 'planning' this trip to the beach, she had forgotten her swimsuit. Well, not really forgotten. More like she forgot the bottom half of her swimsuit and couldn't change into it. So she was stuck with the bikini top and the short shorts that she had worn with her. Ah, well it was appropriate beach attire anyways, and it was getting warm. She could feel it between her toes, as the sand warmed up the very sand she was standing on. It felt kind of nice, actually. For a few blissful seconds she forgot about work, her brother, and her responsibility for her family. But right as she thought of it again, her expression turned sour. It wasn't as though anyone would notice, anyways, but she was thinking of her brother. Again. That unemployed little bastard had left job hunting to her. He was also too stubborn to let her pull a few strings for him to work in the same workplace as her. At least then they'd be able to take home double the money. But he had no experience as a waiter, either.
Plus, she didn't want to see him at work. There were enough unpleasant customers and distractions in the first place. And obviously, her older brother felt the same way. But still, him being the oldest sibling, he should have taken responsibility instead of her! Didn't he know how hard it was to balance a job, do an impossible amount of schoolwork, and go through this stupid family drama she felt was a waste of time? Sure, she was much too stubborn (and she'll admit, prideful) to give up the fight so early on, especially when he was the one to start it. But for fuck's sake, he didn't know when to give up, did he?
She kicked the sand in frustration, the small grains landing on some people nearby. Joze didn't bother apologizing. They didn't take so kindly to that, so she sought to find a place where she could better kick the sand without disturbing their peace. Ha, like they deserved it. They couldn't understand the emotional turmoil going on inside her head. No, they went on with their perfect little lives, living until their perfect little deaths. Complications in their perfect little lives? Well, fuck that, they didn't know what real complications were. Broke a nail? Well boo hoo. Screw them.
Joze did leave, leaving a cloud of sand for dramatic effect. Where was a place that she could kick sand, now? She walked along the shoreline, the cool sand hitting the bare soles of her feet. It would help her resist the urge to kick sand, since wet sand was a good amount more difficult to propel into the air as compared to soft, dry sand. Eventually she came along a deserted part of the beach. Well, not so much deserted as open. There were still a few people, but not as much as those in the main area of the beach. At least there weren't enough people to kick sand at.
Though, she still miscalculated somehow (maybe she was giving her brain a bit more relaxation time than she ought to, and it just simply stopped working with logic), and two people sitting on the beach got their faces full of sand. "Well fuck." On another note, the guy was handsome (if not a bit too old for her to even be thinking about), and no doubt that girl was probably with him. Well, she interrupted yet another couple with her sand kicking. Perhaps it was just a sign telling her how much she should stop kicking sand (or maybe it was just her spite at couples, not being in one herself).
Joze here to crash the party~ I mean, kicking sand in people's faces ought to do the trick. |

He recognized the tune anywhere; it was the one lullaby that he recalled his mother sang to him when he was upset about something. Really, he had no clue why the hell he was humming it right now, but it was comforting to him at the moment during his time of utter disappointment. “A long long time ago, in a tragedy… If ever comes a day that I go away… In a forest deep, you'll sink like a stone… From that moment on, you'll go alone~♫” His self-serenading party was cut short when he heard a feminine voice ring out, going completely silent before placing his silver oculars onto the owner of the voice. To his surprise (well, not really), a girl clad in a bikini was looking at him and asking him a question. She didn’t like the usual girl that was trying to throw herself at him, causing him to be extremely thankful for the moment for that. But looking at her, he inwardly grimaced while his face kept a blank expression. Hell, she’s looking at me like how mother and Shin’ya look at me sometimes, he noted, suddenly missing the two females a hell of a lot. I wonder what Shin’ya and the twins are doing.Just as he was about to answer the unknown girl, he was greeted by a cloud of sand heading in their direction. To say that he was annoyed that he not only had sand on him but also in his mouth was an understatement. Spitting out as much sand as he could, the dark-haired fought the urge to retch. That whole spiel his half-brother once gave him about sand not tasting like anything? Complete and utter bullshit. It was awful and the grainy feel of it in his throat was hellishly unpleasant. Looking around for the culprit of the stupid sand cloud, his argent gaze landed on yet another girl. Except, this one kind of looked pissed off at the moment. Though, her cursing made the Shirokane erupt into a fit of laughter, clutching his sides and laughing heartily. Why? Well to be completely honest, he wasn’t really sure. But it was funny, and that’s all that counts, right? And besides, it made him feel a hell of a lot better. It’s probably because she looks just as pissed as Shin’ya was when she woke up this morning, his logical side chimed in as he calmed down, righting himself with a typical sly smile on his face. “A pretty young girl shouldn’t be swearing,” the silver-eyed male teased as he stood up, brushing all the sand off his person before winking at her. He then quickly turned to face the other girl, bowing and taking the purple-eyed girl’s hand before placing a quick kiss on it. “I hope no harm came to such lovely young woman. It would be quite the shame,” he stated, a smirking smile tugging at the very edges of his lips as he stood up straight. Now while the logical and moral were ranting at him, he made sure to quickly and effectively snuff out their voices. He really didn’t feel like listening to them at the moment. Consequences be damned. Besides, it’s not like a certain someone would mind, he rationalized internally. •••••••••• date: 03/09/12 time: early midday weather: neutral[/style] [style=font-size: 10px; color: #010101; text-align: center;]TEMPLATE BY SAMARECARM OF OTE + BTN[/style]

TIMESTAMP 03/09/12 [/classy][classy=realicon]hover [/classy]❝ Was he... humming? She could just barely hear the tune of the song over the sound of the water and the noise of the people around them. The tune was completely foreign to her. It was too bad she only noticed as she had opened her mouth to speak, otherwise she wouldn't have interrupted.
He watched her with such a blank expression. She was wondering now if just leaving him to hum by himself would have been a better option. Shifting the towel rolled under her arm slightly, she waited patiently. Just as he was seeming to open his mouth to reply however, both of them were sprayed with sand.
She had flinched a bit, not having expected to feel the sand flying up to bite at her legs. Turning slightly, she knit her brows, bending a bit to brush the stray grains away from her skin. Though her gaze remained fixed on her task of wiping off the sand, she caught sight of the culprit responsible. Her eyes trailed up to her slowly, more curious than angry. She had the feeling she'd done it on purpose, but she brushed it off as easily as she did the grains of sand. It was nothing to get upset over.
Apparently the other stranger agreed, as his laughter was quick to reach her ears. The sound actually helped her to settle a bit, as she was uncertain how he would react to such a thing. By the time she looked back to him, he was holding his sides, still laughing. She couldn't help but smirk slightly, and a single brow arched as she watched him curiously, quiet. Was it really that funny? She supposed it didn't matter if it got the blank look off his face.
The sneaky grin that crept up onto his lips was enough to earn a soft "Hmph," from Olivie. She'd seen that look a couple times, and had a decent idea what usually came after. Her focus shifted slowly to join the man's, settling on the other blond girl. As expected, he complimented the other girl, even teasing her a bit. Though the compliment wasn't directed at her, she found herself folding her arms in front of her anyway, keeping her eyes on Joze. She agreed with him, the "fuck" was more than a little unnecessary. She had never been a fan of colorful language.
From the corner of her eyes, she could see his attention was shifting back over to her, and with him still having that grin in place she could almost feel her slight smile fading. You don't want to do this. She centered on that thought, hoping that somehow, someway, it would beam directly into his mind and dissuade him from doing whatever it was he had it mind. It clearly wasn't working however as he reached for her hand. She subtly tried to move it away from him, but didn't seem to be quick or obvious enough to keep him from taking it in his own and kissing it before she could "nope" on out of it. Her brows drew together slightly as she gave him a disappointed frown. What was he doing?
She pulled her hand back easily, starting to lose herself in thought as she listened to him speak. It was a lot more fun watching people be teased than being teased yourself. Flirting included. "You're very funny, aren't you?" She forced a lop-sided, bare quirk of a smile, watching him with bored eyes as she gripped at her arm to keep her hand from being moved again. She was starting to wonder if it was a trap all along. Perhaps he played a sad, brooding man laying lonely on the beach to attract a sympathetic crowd. Funny how she could feel her sympathy slipping away.
Her eyes settled back on Joze and her smile strengthened, her eyes softening. She wasn't walking with anyone, so she had either gotten in a fight with whoever she came with or just visited the beach alone. Either way, it was clear she was frustrated about something. Olivie wasn't tempted to ask, but she was curious. She simply watched the girl, quiet. She'd let this play out a while. ❞ | | [newclass=box]opacity: 0; filter:alpha(opacity=0); width: 100px; height: 120px; float: left; position: absolute; margin-left: 25%; transition: 0.7s; -moz-transition: 0.7s; -webkit-transition: 0.7s; -o-transition: 0.7s;[/newclass][newclass=box:hover]opacity: 0.7; filter:alpha(opacity=70); width: 260px; transition: 0.7s; -moz-transition: 0.7s; -webkit-transition: 0.7s; -o-transition: 0.7s;[/newclass][newclass=hiddenicon]background: url(http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/hh443/dbkarma/Tsukumo/18.png); width: 100px; height: 100px; border-radius: 5px; border: 2px #ad687d solid; [/newclass][newclass=realicon]float: right; background: url(http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/hh443/dbkarma/Tsukumo/18.png); width: 100px; height: 100px; border-radius: 5px; border: 2px #ad687d solid; margin-left: 5px;[/newclass] |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] [/style][style=font: normal 10px arial; text-align: justify]She was going to apologize. Really, she was. Joze wasn't really a mean person - or so she had always been told. Right now she was rethinking that certain personality trait of hers, seeing as she felt no particular desire to apologize. And she was still scowling. That probably wasn't winning any points with the couple in front of her. She wasn't sure if that would be quite the right word. It didn't seem as though they were really together, but at the same time... Why was she so jealous, anyways? They were just two people, in a practically deserted part of the beach -
The prospect of what they were doing just occurred to her. Oh god, just why did she have to think of that? The mental images... good grief, Joze looked away from the both of them briefly, hiding her eyes in embarrassment. It was probably just best to go away now and avoid going to deserted areas of the beach for the rest of her trip. Oh, but no. Not after he just laughed at her. What did she do now? Did she look funny or something? Last time she checked, there wasn't a mustache pinned on her face. If anything, he should be angry, not amused. No, he was making her even more comfortable (and even a bit angry herself) by doing so. And did he just... flirt? She looked behind her to see if there was another girl that recently swore. Nope, it was just them.
So he was addressing her. She'd be lying if she said she wasn't pleased, but what about the other woman? Unless he was that kind of person. Given his looks, she wouldn't be surprised. "I hope my choice of language doesn't offend you." Sarcasm percentage? 100%. Her suspicions about his nature was confirmed once he turned towards the other. She grimaced. Why was she wasting her time here, again? Joze turned towards the woman - she didn't seem too angry at her nor offended. "I'm sorry for kicking sand at your legs, I didn't really mean to kick it in your direction. Honest mistake, really."
The woman seemed nice, at the very least. Not so much like the guy. Joze wondered what she was doing there. They bore a stark contrast in personalities, from what little she had seen. She seemed nice and Joze got the impression that she was the understanding type. Maybe she should talk about her problems instead of kicking sand in people's faces, but where was the fun in that? If she wanted to talk, she'd go to a therapist. Oh right - therapists cost money, something the blonde clearly lacked. Plus, she didn't particularly want to spill her deepest darkest secrets to a stranger, much less not two, and not a chance in the world was she uttering anything nice towards that slimy little worm of a guy. |

“I do too!”
A mild sigh of annoyance passed through Shin’ya’s lips as she walked around with her two children, their chatter filling the air as they walked around the beach. Right now, they seemed to be fixated on having ice cream, demanding it every two minutes. And despite her reasoning for not giving it to them, they were pretty much adamant about having what they wanted. They even went so far as to mouth off and say that their father would buy them ice cream if they asked. Of course he would buy it for them… How else is he going to convince them to help him out on fooling some girl? she mentally questioned.
“Chii, Shii… I already told you two that if I buy you two ice cream, you’re not going to be able to get into the water for a long while,” the green-eyed female reminded the twins again, receiving scowls and haughty pouts as an answer from her two children. But instead of shouting bloody murder like always, the two twins just walked along their mother with fierce frowns adorning their faces. Just like Nachi… Always trying to get what they want despite being told “no.”
After walking a bit more down the beach, the trio finally came across a small group of people not too far away from them. Two girls and a guy, it seemed. But before Shin’ya could even get a better look of the three, the two silver-eyed twins ran out of her grasp and scurried over to the male. An icy frown washed over her face once she realized why they so willingly ran over to the male’s direction.
“Tousan!”
What the hell is Nachi doing here? she inwardly grimaced as she reluctantly walked over to the group, taking notice that the twins tackled their father to the sandy ground beneath them. Why did it not surprise her to see that the sly bastard was in the company of two females? Because it’s Nachi, of course, her logical side countered, making her nod in agreement as she stopped walking once she stood next to the violet-eyed female.
“Hmph, not much of a surprise to find you here, Nachi,” Shin’ya stated coldly, glaring at him before darting her green eyes in the females’ directions. “Oh, and you have company too. No surprise there.”

Normally, girls would flock to him and everything would be fine and dandy. He’d flirt with them, they’d swoon, and at the end of the day, he’d have a girl warming his bed for the night before repeating the process the very next day. However, these two girls weren’t at all falling for any of his typical tricks. It’s like… almost as if they had an invisible barrier that defended them against his flirting. I’m probably just having a really off day, he inquired, keeping the sly smile on his face to seem normal. This was most unusual indeed. Though the two girls were ignoring his existence, Nachi didn’t have a problem with it. He’d been plenty much ignored by a certain female, so what was two more? Besides, it’d give him a moment to fully take in the girl’s appearances. The blonde girl with the purple eyes was really quite pretty. Oh, not to mention that the bikini helped some since she seemed to have quite the decent figure. As for the younger blonde girl, she seemed to be an adorable little creature. She obviously was… still developing. But at least her sarcasm was funny. “Tousan!”The very next thing he knew, he was being tackled into the sand. Then Nachi felt two small figures jumping on his back and poking him, along with two mischievous giggles that he could recognize anywhere. Shii and Chii. Groaning, he turned on his back once the two little kids got off of him, spitting out some sand that managed to find its way into his mouth (again). And though he should be pissed off by the twins’ actions, he could only smile at the two black-haired children that were smiling brightly at him. Then came the all too familiar cold voice of the twins’ mother, making his smile grow into a mocking smirk as he rested his silver orbs onto the lithe woman’s fame. If he really wanted to be honest with himself, he’d admit that he actually kind of missed her and that seeing her right before him brightened up his day just a bit. The Shirokane male pushed those thoughts aside and sat up then, directing his smirk at Shin’ya like he typically did whenever she was around. “Oh Shin’ya, I’m hurt. You make me sound like such a horrible person. You’re always so cold towards me.”Getting up off the sand then, Nachi ruffled the twins’ hair affectionately and smiled warmly at the duo before pulling out his wallet, handing the two five-year-olds five dollars each. “Here you go, guys. Go buy yourselves some ice cream.” The two Shirokane siblings didn’t even skip a beat, hugging their father before dashing off to the more populated area of the beach to buy their frozen desserts, not even waiting for their mother. A chuckle vibrated in the air then. “They really do love their ice cream. And don’t freak out, Shin’ya. They’ll be fine,” he assured with his typical crooked smile before he grabbed said woman’s hand, turning his attention back to the females. “And look Shin’ya, aren’t these girls just lovely-looking? They could be models or something. Oh, but where are my matters? My name is Nachi and this woman right here is the mother of my children,” he told the blonde females, pointing towards Shin’ya. “And like she likes saying all the time, she and I are not together and will never be together.”Now, Nachi was expecting the two girls to look at him like he was growing a second head. He knew exactly what to expect from Shin’ya; she was probably fixing to hit him or verbally lash out him with her cold demeanor like always. But really, he felt like messing with Shin’ya now that she was here; it is one of his favorite pastimes after all.[/style] [style=font-size: 10px; color: #010101; text-align: center;]TEMPLATE BY SAMARECARM OF OTE + BTN[/style]

TIMESTAMP 03/09/12 [/classy][classy=realicon]hover [/classy]❝ It was funny the way the girl looked around. Almost as if the man couldn't have possibly been talking to her. Whether she was irritated by the compliment or was glad to receive it, Olivie wasn't sure. She gave her a slight smile, silently asking that she refrain from crushing the guy for his sorry attempt for the sake of keeping things peaceful. While her response wasn't hateful, it was absolutely dripping with sarcasm, and Vivi found herself giving a silent sigh in response. Perhaps the man wasn't offended, but she didn't think it was called for.
She'd of course caught him eyeing her from the corner of her gaze. As if she would remove her focus from him completely. Still, her eyes had settled on Joze, waiting. And, as she had hoped, she got her apology before long. Her smile strengthened a bit at that. She wasn't sure she would be getting one. Whatever irritation she had felt only a moment ago had already fizzled out completely, her warm smile fading into a much more subtle one. "Don't worry about it. I didn't think it was on purpose." Oops. Lie. She hadn't meant to, but she did originally believe that she'd kicked sand at her with malicious intent. Seeing her apologize now though, she was slowly becoming convinced that wasn't the case. Showing a little trust couldn't hurt, especially in a silly situation like this.
A chirped "Tousan" and she tilted her head slightly, listening. Her eyes immediately fell upon the children, watching them curiously as they ran straight up to the man that had previously been flirting with her. And... springing at him to shove him down into the sand. Tousan? It wasn't Mandarin, that was for sure. Sounded Japanese, to her. Perhaps they were foreigners as well?
She took a couple steps back from the faceplanted Nachi, looking over to the woman following after the two rugrats that had succeeded in their attack against him. The stranger walked right up to stand beside her, and the chill that seemed to roll off of her made Olivie uneasy. She would frown at her, but if it was the children she was upset with she really couldn't blame her. It was really terrible manners to just knock someone over like that. Her tone sounded just as frigid as her green eyes looked, narrowed and locked on the cheerful man. It struck her then. She wanted to leave. And now.
Unneeded conflict had never really been her thing. She already had work to worry about, she'd come to relax, she hadn't come here to- her thoughts stopped as the woman's gaze shifted toward her, daring to imply she was this stranger's "company." Defend herself? Olivie bit her tongue. No. What was the point? She really didn't care what this woman thought of her.
And Nachi's tone. Olivie glanced over in time to see him hand the children the money. She doubted he'd have to deal with their sugar high and immediately found herself sympathizing with the woman who had brought them here. Her eyes followed slowly as they rushed down the stretch of sand before shifting back to Nachi, flitting between him and the new arrival.
He just continued to lay on the compliments. Compliments she didn't ask for and most certainly didn't want. As soon as the words "mother of my children" had left his mouth, she furrowed her brows and frowned at Shin'ya, stomach turning. As he clarified they weren't together, it only made her stomach hurt worse. From the outside looking in, it really looked as if the mother was doing everything she could for the boys and the father was just lazing about. She couldn't say for sure. She'd met the two not even five minutes ago. But still... A hand found its way to her stomach and rested there. Manners. She inwardly grimaced at that.
"It must be difficult." She would leave it at that, forcing a weak smile and giving a shallow bow. "I'm Vivi," she greeted evenly, trying to sound a bit more cheerful. Her gaze turned to Nachi, hopeful but clouded with doubt. She had opened her mouth to speak but closed it and shook her head. It wasn't her place. What good would it do? Being raised by a single mother she'd seen how difficult it could be for them. Even with a decent income from running a successful business. To see him so proudly announce that he had nothing to do with the mother of his children? It was depressing. It brought about thoughts she'd rather just force out of her mind.
A much more forced smile and a tilt of her head for added effect. "Pleasure meeting you both." She looked back to Joze, just in case she was wanting to get out of there as much as she was, now. "I'm headed to Ming's, if you're hungry," she offered, her smile softening as she knit her brows again. Yep, she was already working on a way out of there. She didn't want to get caught in any sort of family dispute. ❞ | | [newclass=box]opacity: 0; filter:alpha(opacity=0); width: 100px; height: 120px; float: left; position: absolute; margin-left: 25%; transition: 0.7s; -moz-transition: 0.7s; -webkit-transition: 0.7s; -o-transition: 0.7s;[/newclass][newclass=box:hover]opacity: 0.7; filter:alpha(opacity=70); width: 260px; transition: 0.7s; -moz-transition: 0.7s; -webkit-transition: 0.7s; -o-transition: 0.7s;[/newclass][newclass=hiddenicon]background: url(http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/hh443/dbkarma/Tsukumo/18.png); width: 100px; height: 100px; border-radius: 5px; border: 2px #ad687d solid; [/newclass][newclass=realicon]float: right; background: url(http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/hh443/dbkarma/Tsukumo/18.png); width: 100px; height: 100px; border-radius: 5px; border: 2px #ad687d solid; margin-left: 5px;[/newclass] |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] [/style][style=font: normal 10px arial; text-align: justify]It was awkward. That was the only way she could describe this situation. Awkward. It wasn't even slightly awkward either, it was just full on, uncomfortable awkwardness. Joze considered leaving once more. Sure, it wasn't all that polite to do so, but what else could she possibly do? There was no further reason to stay here, to be honest. But there really was no reason to leave either. Maybe she'll stick a bit longer, after all. Things were developing quite interestingly, though still. It wasn't exactly the most desirable circumstances to be in.
Two kids ran up to them. Cute little five year old kids. And get this... they were somehow the offspring of this... despicable guy. But they were... they were really cute! Though it drove her to question the age of this man. Definitely too old to be even considering looking at her, much less flirting with her. He even had kids. And he also hadn't introduced himself, not earning any points in her book (not that it matter, seeing as he wasn't going to ever get on her good side). She probably wouldn't be seeing him again - and woah did things really get more awkward.
A woman, who she later found out to be the mother of this guy's children, walked up to them, looking less than amused. For some reason she felt really... guilty. She hadn't even really done anything wrong. But she didn't seemed to be very amused at the situation, so Joze just went back to more... less complicating situations. She turned towards the other woman, the nice looking one who introduced herself as Vivi. She seemed nice and not so intimidating. "I'm Joze. Nice to meet you." Come on. Just be civil, Joze. Maybe you'll get points for kicking sand in his face.

Not only was he mocking her in front of these two females, he gave the twins money to go buy ice cream. On top of that, he had the audacity to tell her that she shouldn’t worry about her children that were currently running off on their own. Who the bloody hell let two five-year-olds run off in a place full of strangers and act like it was no big deal? Nachi, you moron! she growled internally, turning around to start going after the two kids, only to be pulled by Nachi.
“And look Shin’ya, aren’t these girls just lovely-looking? They could be models or something. Oh, but where are my matters? My name is Nachi and this woman right here is the mother of my children. And like she likes saying all the time, she and I are not together and will never be together.”
Ouch, she commented mentally, a flicker of pain washing over her face at the statement. Really, it shouldn’t have hurt at all seeing as she said that they were never going to be all the time, but for him to say that… Well, that was a little more than her pride and feelings could take. But she quickly schooled her features into her usual mask of calm before snatching her arm out of the silver-eyed male’s grasp, elbowing him in the ribs in the process.
“Idiot! What do you think you’re doing flirting around with a young girl, you pervert!” she spat at him viciously, hitting him upside the head with her fist while a noise resembling a growl passed her lips. “And how can you act so calm about Chii and Shii running off to buy ice cream? You know Chii is a mischievous little girl and she’ll cause a problem if she doesn’t get what she wants! I honestly wonder how they survive the day with you sometimes! But when I think about it, they take after you more than they do me.”
Not caring for the moment about whether she seriously hurt the flirtatious Shirokane, she quickly turned to the two females and bowed briefly before putting on a smile. “I am sorry for my behavior with you two. As this idiotic flirt said, my name is Shin’ya and it’s wonderful to meet you both. I didn’t mean to act the way I did, but with someone so irresponsible around my children, I have to be a bit stern.”
Shifting her green eyes to the femme known as Vivi, Shin’ya offered her an apologetic smile. “I apologize if I made you uncomfortable. Normally that is my intention, but seeing as Nachi seemed to be bothering you both rather than you being his set company, my behavior was totally uncalled for.”
It wasn’t necessarily normal to see the black-haired femme apologize so much (especially if Nachi was around), but she honestly couldn’t help but feel guilty about her behavior. Or perhaps… she was merely focusing on her guilt in order to ignore the linger sting about Nachi’s earlier comment. No, that’s not it. I honestly feel bad, she tried to convince herself, repeating it over and over again like a mantra. Like hell she had any feelings for that idiot.

However, he most certainly was not expecting to get the wind knocked out of him by a sharp elbow to his ribs. It was more than enough to make him crouch over a bit, causing him to cough a bit before swallowing up air to fill his lungs once again. The silver-eyed man wanted to smile at her violent actions for moment until he felt a really hard blow against his head, finishing his balance for the moment. A light groan vibrated in the air as Nachi fell on his back, only for him to get back up on his feet a few moments later. To say that he was shocked that Shin’ya was apologizing to complete strangers and being kind to them when they were of the female gender was an understatement. Nachi was used to her spitting venom at him and the company of girls he kept, but here she was, apologizing to these girls when she had been acting so coldly to them only moments ago. Does Shin’ya really dislike me that much? he wondered to himself, letting a momentary frown grace his features before turning back into a smile when he heard happy squeals heading in the group’s direction. “Mama!” “Tousan!” Upon turning around, he was tackled (yet again) by one of the children, this time managing to keep his balance as he held onto the female twin. “So, did you and your brother get your ice cream?” he asked with a grin, receiving an enthusiastic nod from the girl before she jumped out of Nachi’s arms. “Hai! Shii-chama was why we were late,” the black-haired little girl chirped, throwing a smirk in her brother’s direction before licking at her ice cream. “Liar! You were talking to a boy like Tousan talks to girls!” the twin boy barked at his sister, pinching the girl’s cheek before the two started a yelling match. “Oi, stop bickering. You know your mother doesn’t like that,” chided Nachi, avoiding Shin’ya’s gaze as he hugged the two children for a moment. “You two better eat your ice cream before it melts. But before you do that,” he paused, turning the two children around to face the two blonde femmes with his usual sly smile on his face. “You should introduce yourselves to these ladies.”“I’m Chii, the cute one,” the small female chimed, throwing a minor glare at the two females before slipping back into her sweet façade. “I’m Shii,” the boy replied, looking at the two blondes with a smile. “You two are pretty.” A chuckle slipped through Nachi’s mouth at his children, shaking his head at their behavior. They really were more like him than their mother. They’re probably more of a handful than I give them credit for, he noted, shooting a smile at Joze and Vivi. “Ah, so I see I’m not the only one who thinks they’re lovely, eh?”Somewhere in the back of his mind, the Shirokane was sure he shouldn’t be trying to push his luck at the moment, but he figured things couldn’t get any worse. Really, he couldn’t think of another reason why things would; the twins were back, so Shin’ya should be calm… sort of. Though, that weird demeanor of hers at the moment made him wonder if she really wanted nothing to do with him. “So, what brings you two to the beach anyways?” Nachi directed his question towards the two blondes, trademark smile in place. Screw it, he wasn’t going to think about anything remotely close to guilt; that just wasn’t his style and he wasn’t going to make it his style now.[/style] [style=font-size: 10px; color: #010101; text-align: center;]TEMPLATE BY SAMARECARM OF OTE + BTN[/style]

TIMESTAMP 03/09/12 [/classy][classy=realicon]hover [/classy]❝ That quick twinge of pain, that hurt expression that flashed only for an instant, it was easy for her to see. Her heart sank a bit in her chest, she was really feeling for this woman. Nachi just seemed to kick her around without realizing the damage he was doing. Or, at least, she hoped he just didn't realize what damage he was doing.
Her expression frosted over quickly, becoming cold and hard again. Olivie nearly braced herself, fearing the worst, but hesitated. She'd try and give the woman a chance to be civil. Her eyes followed the woman's elbow as it lodged itself in the man's ribcage a moment, and she visibly winced as he fell.
Both of them were being ridiculous. Nachi with his casual, irresponsible demeanor, and Shin'ya with her abusing the father of her children. Olivie really wanted no part of this, and the way she knit her brows and gave a clear frown of disapproval to the pair made that obvious. She was done. Honestly and truly.
As Shin'ya continued to berate him, apparently not caring if her children were to come running back up and hear, Olivie shook her head, taking half a step to turn away from them. "Don't apologize for him," she replied flatly, keeping her gaze away from the two. She wasn't even staring at the ocean anymore, her eyes had fixed themselves further up the beach.
Shin'ya's apology was met with a half-curious glance before her eyes seemed to chill over. She couldn't stand when people made excuses for themselves when they claimed to be sorry. Raising a hand to rest her fingers to her temples she relaxed. Another apology. Another "but." She had at least owned up to it in the end this time. A simple nod was all she gave in reply, and a bare smile was forced to her face as she looked to the two.
Before she could leave though, the two children had reappeared. She was becoming exhausted by all this. She just wanted a little carton of Ben & Jerry's and to hole up in her room for a little while. Maybe watch some tv and just not have to deal with anyone. This was absolutely draining.
Smiling sweetly to the two, she bent halfway, resting her hands on her knees and giggling a bit. "I'm Vivi~ Nice to meet you." Her smile softened a bit as she straightened, shifting to move an arm behind her back to grab at the other.
Looking back to Nachi her brows drew together slightly "I come rather often. But I'd really rather not stay, now." Subtle? Not really. Seeing as how Joze seemed to have either ignored or completely missed her question, she called back softly to her as she started making her way back to her parked car. "You're welcome to join me for lunch at Ming's, Joze. ❞ | | [newclass=box]opacity: 0; filter:alpha(opacity=0); width: 100px; height: 120px; float: left; position: absolute; margin-left: 25%; transition: 0.7s; -moz-transition: 0.7s; -webkit-transition: 0.7s; -o-transition: 0.7s;[/newclass][newclass=box:hover]opacity: 0.7; filter:alpha(opacity=70); width: 260px; transition: 0.7s; -moz-transition: 0.7s; -webkit-transition: 0.7s; -o-transition: 0.7s;[/newclass][newclass=hiddenicon]background: url(http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/hh443/dbkarma/Tsukumo/18.png); width: 100px; height: 100px; border-radius: 5px; border: 2px #ad687d solid; [/newclass][newclass=realicon]float: right; background: url(http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/hh443/dbkarma/Tsukumo/18.png); width: 100px; height: 100px; border-radius: 5px; border: 2px #ad687d solid; margin-left: 5px;[/newclass] |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] [/style][style=font: normal 10px arial; text-align: justify]An excuse. To leave. She didn't quite catch it the first time, thinking about it. Vivi did mention it before - great. Maybe she should just blame it on bad hearing. But she was taking this excuse to leave. Hey, and Chinese food was always nice. She didn't have much money on her, though. If she were getting treated to this food, she'd have accepted in a heartbeat. Well, Joze would accept the invitation either way, to be perfectly honest. Awkward situation be avoided. And she was rather hungry too. Her lack of money would probably the only thing that was making her hesitate at the moment. But why not take the woman up on her invitation?
Then again, the children were rather cute, too. She was still skeptical that they were the children of this hell's spawn, but they were. Confirmed by the mother. Joze understood why she (Shin'ya, was that her name?) wasn't with this son of a bitch. But she smiled at the children. "I'm Joze~. It's nice to meet you guys!" She did stare a bit enviously at their ice cream too. What she wouldn't give for some ice cream... But she reluctantly tore her gaze away. After all, someone just invited her to Chinese, and if she had ice cream now, she'd ruin her food. Plus, she wasn't going to spend the little money she had on some ice cream. Maybe after pay day she'd take her sister out for ice cream.
"What brings me here? Well, I obviously came to this very spot to kick sand in your face. What else?" A bit of a lie, and her sarcastic tone clearly showed. She didn't bother to tell him the real reason - he wasn't actually curious about that, now was he? Plus, wasn't he a little bit too... old?
"And I would love to go to Queen Ming's with you. I love their food."
wait so now what's gonna happen? |
