THEODORIC KOBAYASHI08 May 2013 @ 12:00pm Eric had a rare day off and was planning on using his well earned free time to relax. Working as the manager was difficult enough. Working as a manager for his two kid brothers and the rest of their band, was similar to having five of his own children. If it wasn't one thing, it was something else and time to himself was rare. He loved all the band members and he especially loved his brothers but he was still human. And human patience had it's limits. Having these days away from them was good for his mental health. It would do them no good if he was overworked and ended up sick in bed. It was a warm and sunny day and after Eric finished cleaning the apartment, he had hoped that he could spend the rest of the day quite literally doing nothing. He would go out grocery shopping then get dinner at the adjacent Japanese food court. It wouldn't be a bad idea to pick up some mochi for dessert either. He could have gone out to explore Los Angeles but he had been here long enough and there more or less knew the area now. There was still plenty to see but at this point, Eric just wanted a day to himself where he did nothing: no cooking, no appointments, no stress, and little to no leaving the house which meant no women chasing him. Eric was about to sit down with his book when rapid knocking on his apartment door alerted him to the presence a visitor. His surprise was evident on his face when he came face to face with one of his younger brothers. "Theo, what are you doing here?" He asked in casual Japanese. While their English skills weren't bad, it was still easier to communicate in their native language. "Did you need something?"

He had been waiting for a while now, in fact the hours had ticked by rapidly. Leon had been complaining that he was bored and wanted something to do. Theo on the other hand was busy writing some new lyrics that had came to him suddenly and he needed to get them down before he forgot. So what did Theo do to get rid of his brother? The only thing a older brother would do, bribe him. He took out a few bills and handed them to Leon, told him to go get some candy and that was that. The bad part was that he had sent his brother away at least two hours ago and was only noticing that his brother was missing now. Leaving what lyrics he did write Theo shoot out of his chair and into Toshi and Hiro’s room. He spoke fast and in a slight panic. ”Hey guys, have you seen Leon? No? Ok thanks.” Well one room down another to go, he knocked and entered Kazue’s room. ”Hey did Leon come in here? No? Thats fine, nothing wrong just wanted to ask him something.” He lied and closed her door then went on to check the other rooms in the penthouse, he even checked the closet just in case.
With nowhere else to check there was only one other place to go and he knew Leon would not be there, but Eric would at least be of some help. Theo took the short trip to Eric’s apartment. Taking the rental car are driving over as quickly and safely as possible. Once he made it to his brother’s apartment he rushed to his brother’s door and knocked as hard as he could. ”I lost him!” Theo was panicked, it was easily shown on his face and he was convinced that he was going to get into some major trouble. ”Eric I.. Sorry, but Eric please don’t kill me. I may have lost Leon about two hours ago.”
He decided that before he gave details about how he lost his brother he should step away from the hallway and into Eric’s apartment. Once inside he turned back to Eric and giving him the saddest kicked puppy look, hoping that would save him from being yelled at. "He was bored so I gave him some money to go buy some junk food, and he hasn’t came back yet….”

The smile on Eric's face stayed though he wasn't all too sure why exactly he was smiling anymore. (Well, he supposed Theo was cute enough to deserve a smile even in the current situation.) His brother's desperate explaining marked the end of his day off and the beginning of a lot of frantic worrying.
"You... you lost Leon." His smile fell as all the worst case scenarios filtered through his head. Images of Leon being lured by strangers, getting lost in the Los Angeles wilderness, and getting hit by vehicles were only a few of the ideas that his overimaginative brain came up with. Not even Theo's puppy dog expression, adorable as Eric had to admit, was not enough to distract him from coming up with even more outrageous scenarios for which his youngest brother could get in trouble. "How did you lose Leon?! No, you know what, you do not need to answer that." Eric grabbed his apartment key and wallet sitting on the side of the door. "Have you tried his cellphone? How long ago did you last see him? How much money did you give him?"

Cute was what Theo had been going for, the more “cute” he acted the better chance that Eric would not skin him alive later. Really how was Theo to know that his younger brother was going to wander off for an extended amount of time and make everyone worry. Theo knew as the older brother he should have been looking out for Leon more, but the guy was an adult too, even if he didn’t act like it. So of course Theo thought that the guy would have been fine alone for a little. Even with his puppy dog look Eric still sounded very man and all Theo could do was look like a kicked puppy as he waited for Eric to be finished.
His cell! Theo hadn’t even thought about called Leon, maybe the guy would pick up if he tried. ”I haven’t tried his phone yet.” Theo had calmed down enough to respond in english, which was probably a good thing, english was easy enough for the German mutt to speak in, it was after all the language the whole band were trying to learn to get used to. He pulled out his own cell and dialed Leon’s number, let it ring a few times before it went to voice mail. ”Leon! Boy when you get this message give me a call back! Alright little brother? Make it quick!” Well that had been a failure, but at least the phone rang, which meant it wasn’t out of power. ”No answer, umm well I really don’t know how much I gave him, I wasn’t paying attention when I pulled out a few bills from my wallet, and its been at least two hours if I had to guess. For all I know he probably went to catch a movie.”
At least that was what Theo was hoping, he didn’t really think Leon was in any trouble, but it was better to be safe then sorry. That was why, even though it was scary, he had came to Eric for help. "You haven't tried his cell yet?" As Theo changed into English, Eric followed suit seamlessly, his accented speech much calmer than it was earlier. There was absolutely nothing to worry about. Adorable Theo was probably just worried about Leon so he had a panicked moment like he had. There was still hope. They just had to call Leon and make sure he was alright and everything would be fine. Eric's smiled returned and he stood calmly by as Theo pulled out his cellphone and called the youngest member of the Kobayashi clan. Perhaps they could go out for dinner later since they were all gathered anyway. It would be nice to have a day with just the three of them. Unfortunately Leon did not pick up and the disturbing images of Leon getting into horrible situations was beginning to appear in his mind again. Now there was no need to jump the conclusions just yet. Theo had said that it had only been two hours. Leon could take care of himself. For a little bit. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad thing if they went out and looked for him a bit. Better safe than sorry. It wasn't like they knew Los Angeles as well as they knew the streets of Japan. Oh no he was worried. Where was Leon?! "Theo," Eric said as he grabbed his wallet and keys from the counter next to the door. "Let's go for a walk shall we? Well the phone call was a failure but that really did not mean much to Theo. Leon was the type to never pay attention to his phone, and there was the chance that Leon was just busy. Theo had handed the younger brother some money, so for all Theo knew his brother probably just went to see a movie, or play in an arcade. Both good places for why he wouldn't pick up, or notice his phone.
”Sure good idea.”
His brother was right, a little walk around wasn’t a bad idea and with some luck maybe they would find Leon. Theo followed Eric out the door and then answered his brother’s question as they left Eric’s place.
“Last time I saw him was back at the hotel room, he was bothering my while I was trying to write. So i gave him some money and told him to go buy some candy or something and leave me alone, thats it.” There was no way Theo was willing any brother of the year award, but he couldn't help it. Every time he got into the mood to write he lose all care for anything else in the world.

"Okay, so from what information we have, Leon may or may not have his cell phone, he has some money, and he's been missing since this morning..." Eric spoke to himself while he thought. Leon was adorable but he was also simple. It was unlikely that he would get too far before being distracted by something shiny. Unless said shiny object was in the hands of some kidnappers. Oh no, what if Leon had been lured away by some nefarious criminals? No, Eric willed himself to stay calm. If he panicked then inevitably so would Theo. He was the older brother, he had to have the answers.
"Alright Theo, what was Leon wearing this morning and how much money did he have on him?" Eric really hoped that it was only a few dollars. At least that way they could cross Disneyland off the list of possible locations.
