Living Situation Johanna's father is a plastic surgeon, occasionally working for celebrities. He's slowly been easing his way into that marketplace. Her mother is more of a socialite, but she once worked at some department store, something she mentions often when trying to instruct her children how to apply for jobs or do anything job related. They are an upper middle-class family and so Johanna has never actually wanted for anything, but then she doesn't really ask for too much either. The most she does is donate food and money to charitable organizations. The house they live in isn’t too big or too small. It’s one of the nicer houses on their street as far as Johanna is concerned, but then she easily finds fault with the other houses because they aren’t her home. She’s still currently in high school, so she lives at home with her parents and goes to school during the school year. 02. Appearance Johanna has red hair with brown eyes. She's almost always got a smile on her face, but her face is very expressive. Everything she is thinking and feeling is easily displayed there. She stands at around 5'7" and is just a little muscular due to playing field hockey. Her clothes tends more towards bright shirts mixed with jeans and the occasional skirt as chosen by her mother. She’s has good posture, but she doesn’t fight to keep it perfect and moves easily around others. 03. Personality The first thing you’ll notice about Johanna is that she’s a bit dramatic at times. She has a habit of making a big deal of small things or saying something extra dramatic about something not necessarily that problematic. She just feels the importance of things a lot. Even when things really aren't all that important. She's also incredibly determined. She knows her strengths and weaknesses and she refuses to accept the weaknesses for what they are and keep moving. She looks at her weaknesses and figures out a way to work with them and better herself in any of the subjects she has trouble in. Of course, her determination can lead to her being a bit stubborn and difficult to rein in. Sometimes you have to make her take a break so she doesn’t drive herself batty. It’s not actually all that difficult to do. Just grab her hand and take her outside, and she’ll take a break. Johanna loves nature and plants and everything to do with the outside. When she does overwork herself, sitting and working with plants or going outside tends to help her mind recharge. Her dream job is to do some sort of environmental work. Saving the world is something she would do if she could. She can be bright and bubbly and happy plenty of the times. She loves to be around people and talk to people and be helpful with people. Much like her dramatics, she can sometimes be a little much. Exciteability is just one of those things that come with her. It's better to be upfront and blunt with her about these things. She may be hurt at first, but she'll get over it and let it go after a while. She just wants to help everyone and make their day just a little better. It's probably years of living with catty sisters and an accomodating brother that brought this around. She didn't like feeling sad, so other people don't like feeling sad. It makes perfect sense! Johanna can be very patient, especially with her classes and friends. Unless you are important to her and have gained her loyalty, that patience is not limitless. If you keep trying her patience over and over again, chances are she'll say something she might regret later and storm off. She'll always come back later and apologize until she's blue in the face, because she hates upsetting people. It can make her a bit of a pushover at times, but if you're her friend or if whatever she said was truly uncalled for, then she can't even imagine not apologizing. It wouldn't be okay. If you are her friend, she will be loyal to a fault. There is barely anything she won't do for you. If that means telling someone off and getting all up in their face, then she will do that. It may make her a little naive about things at times (because she refuses to believe her friends would ask her to do something that would hurt her), but for the most part she can spot a dangerous situation when she sees one. 04. History Johanna was the youngest of three girls and one boy. She was a surprise baby, the baby her parents really weren't expecting. Her brother is ten years older than her, with her sisters being eight and six years older. After being born, her mother had her tubes tied to prevent any further surprise children. There was no reason to have any more children. Three was the ideal amount for them, but a fourth was a fourth. As a child, Johanna was looked after mostly by her older brother. Her sisters had taken to her as they would some sort of doll at first, but quickly got bored with her when she didn't do anything particularly interesting. Her brother was the one that taught her how to play games and how to have fun. By the time she turned eight, he'd turned eighteen and was off to college. While he was away, Johanna felt far more alone than she had with him around. Her sisters didn't like to play with her very much and often put their toys high up where she couldn't reach. Their relationship was not particularly good. For the most part, however, the younger of the two sisters was going along with what the older said, but Johanna didn't forget it. Her parents, noticing the behavior, tried to get her sisters to do things with her, but they didn't really go along with it. In the end, Johanna started to make friends with people at her school instead. It was easier than trying to get in the circle with her sisters. And it was less tiring than shouting matches (which happened almost every day). By the time that she was twelve, all her siblings were out of the house and she was on her own. It wasn't the easiest time to be the only girl. Her mother tried to influence her clothing choices and stressed the importance of wearing just the right clothes, something Johanna eventually caved to. She wore what her mother asked and did as she was supposed to do. She got involved with the school groups she liked and tried to enjoy the most painful years of her entire existence (partly an exaggeration, but her diaries are filled with inner turmoil and complaints of 'the vapors'.) High school started better than she thought it would. She worked hard at her studies and discovered the joy that was field hockey. She went to the tryouts, but didn't get on the team. Her parents got to deal with the dramatics of this news and finding her over the house in varying states of moping. Two weeks into practice and one of the girls on the team's arm was broken by a bad hit. Due to this, she was given a position on the team. It was hard to contain her excitement after that. You weren't supposed to be excited about someone being injured. It was sort of a rule of being a good human, but...she had a spot on the team. She could be forgiven this one thing, right? Almost in her last year of school, she's ready to finish high school and do great things! She’s looking into a few clubs to see if there’s anything that she might want to do for her last year. |
