Has a small, not bad looking apartment that would struggle with two people in it. 02. Appearance Aodhgan is six foot, actually a couple millimetres off it. He has a skinny frame with some amount of muscle built up from working. He hasn't had a haircut in about seven months so his unruly hair is slowly growing into his eyes. His eyes are dark enough to look purple in certain lights and he is oddly pale for LA. He wears mostly black or grey with the odd geeky tshirt to liven up his colour choices. There is also a fist sized burn on his upper left arm.03. Personality He is a quiet and observant guy, he enjoys sitting in a corner alone with his thoughts and plans or a good book that socialising, you could even call him shy. When he does talk to someone he is usually polite unless something about them grates on his nerves then he enjoys jokes at their expense. He is lazy about almost everything, preferring to sit on his butt and eat while watching tv or a movie or read/game. His apartment is passable, tidy enough but his lazy arse doesn't tidy or clean it until every couple weeks. Surprisingly his bookshelves are almost OCD tidy, his books are alphabetical by author surname and multiple series by an author by favourite. His games and action figures of certain games are arranged by console, series and favourites. He isn't much for exercise, believing he gets enough from work. Aodhgan is also very slow to anger, he suppresses it even though he knows that someday he will blow up on someone for a little thing. A lonely soul with apparently no skills to make or keep friends or flirt he longs for companionship, someone to drag him from solitude. He fears being alone forever as much as he dislikes crowds, lots of people make him nervous. He is also afraid of heights and flying, often having nightmares the nights whenever he flies or stupidly looks down from a height. Sweet things are a weakness of his, especially those ridiculously expensive imported stuff from his home country. He also stresses out about money and doesn't really like to spend stuff, he sees this stress as a benefit as it keeps him form living beyond his means. 04. History He and his twin Leo were born and raised in a reasonably sized town a twenty minute drive from the capital city Edinburgh to his Scottish father and American mother. His parents both have doctorates, his father medical and his mother one in engineering. With their children's dual nationality they thought it prudent to report the births and get all american citizenship documents/passports ready for the children just in case. Though they had busy schedules they found enough time to sit with their kids as they grew up, playing, reading to them and teaching them things. The earliest brotherly rivalry was to see who could tie their laces perfectly all the time first, Aodhgan lost that one. They were a bit spoiled, read to in bed until after they started school, Aodhgan got tired of waiting for bed to finish the stories and started to read on his own, he has always chalked up that as a win on his part. His mother was an engineer and made them toys too, mini siege engines and castles that collapsed with enough damage. It was one of their favourites, and probably set Aodhgan to a path that followed his mother. It was soon after their first few years at school when the twins diverged from each other, Aodhgan towards acedemics like his parents and Leo more towards sports, their personalities also became more pronounced. Leo was the typical outgoing jock type, while Aodhgan became quieter as the years went on more or less retreating into his books in high school. Aodhgan lost count of the times he stepped in to defuse his brother's quick anger in school, one such occasion when they were twelve was the result of the only fight he has ever had. While stopping Leo from decking a guy throwing insults at Leo's current girlfriend, the lucky guy - who had just got saved a dental visit - made a comment about their mother. Leo failed to stop Aodhgan as the nerdy twin took his brother's place in the fight. It was also the first time the twins fought together as Leo stepped in to block a couple friends of the now unlucky guy from jumping into the fight. They were both suspended for a few days because of that incident and although they were grounded it was worth it for them and is one of their best memories. A crushing blow came to his heroine mother when he was 15, she was discovered to have been cheating on their father for the past couple years. Even though he wasn't particularly close to his father who had gotten busier as they had got older with a couple promotions, he shunned his mother completely. Both brothers sided with their father and the divorce was relatively quick, ending with their mother leaving to go back home to America. The quiet and relaxing atmosphere of their home had become almost a strangling silence, one that only amplified the awkwardness and misery of the situation, the boys were left largely independent as their father was as busy as usual and Leo went out with friends all the time which again made the empty home like an abandoned dreary place as Aodhgan was the only one around for hours at a time. He banished the loneliness and quiet with loud music and burying himself in video games, developing a less than healthy obsession with them, often eating carrier bags full of snacks at a time and waiting until he had a couple full of trash before throwing them out. Leo with an desperate grab at dragging his twin from his misery and isolation nagged, prodded and effectively blackmailed him into going to a party with him. It was a night where he drunk to excess as young teens tend to do. He had even gotten along with a girl even when he was roaring drunk and the two eventually passed out in a drunken sleep at the top of the stairs. He was woken from his sleep by some screams. Some idiots had found a cooking sized blow torch and were messing around with it, when Aodhgan went to try and get them to stop, the metal lamp that they were heating up was knocked over, the blow torch dropped to the floor and the lamp fell into him, leaving the burn on his arm. He jumped at the blow torch despite the pain and turned it off before stamping out the beginnings of a fire on the carpet. After a time in A&E to get the burn treated Leo tried to cheer him up by showing him a video, some bellend had recorded Aodhgan making out with that one girl and uploaded it to the net. His brother got a football - or 'soccer' as Leo says with his try at an american accent everytime - scholarship to a college and somehow managed to convince Aodhgan to take a break from going straight to university at seventeen and come with him to LA to see their mother for the first since she left. They spent a few days in New York City to give Aodhgan a break before the next flight, luckily he couldn't be dragged out to drink again, both of them being a few years too young in the USA to even attempt it. They did nothing big in the ways of sightseeing, with Aodhgans deep fear of heights it made climbing any of the skyscrapers or Statue of Liberty more or less impossible but he does have a great photo with his brother and the big Optimus Prime in the Toys R Us store. Their meeting of their mother was strained, she had gotten a new guy and had had a daughter in the two and a half years since she left. It wasn't all bad, it was tolerable with her and his little sister was so cute, and just starting to walk. The coming weeks saw a somewhat slowly repairing bridge between mother and sons, Aodhgan in particular was resistant to this but eventually even he had to admit he had missed his mother. It was during that summer with his brother he decided to stay in the USA - luckily both twins kept their US passports up to date - to keep his twin company as well as look into colleges he could apply for here but first he wanted to get a job and not sponge off his mother. He managed to get a couple jobs before he turned 18, is some clothes store then as a waiter, the waiter job didn't last more than a couple days as he was really not keen on working for tips. His current job he got mid February and moved out of his mother's home at the last week of April. |
