Living Situation Hiro, being the bass guitarist of the band Sound Fuse, lives with his four other bandmates in a penthouse on the top floor of the Renaissance Hotel. Hiro, alongside his best friend Toshiyuki (Toshi) have been there for approximately three weeks, joining the rest of the band. Currently, Hiro and Toshi are sharing a bedroom together. 02. Personality QUIET = Hiro has a tendency to withdraw from large gatherings or other groups of people. It's not that he's shy, but he would rather watch and observe things as opposed to being part of them. Whenever he is around fellow band members, Hiro typically keeps to himself, but when asked he will offer his ideas and opinions on things. Behind closed doors, Hiro has a tendency to speak a bit more. His best friend Toshi can vouch for that much. MOODY = The first thing when Hiro needs when he wakes up is coffee. The entire band knows that as soon as the coffee gets low, someone better make a coffee run. Quickly. Hiro cannot function without his coffee, and as soon as it's gone, he becomes rather moody. Other than that, Hiro is pretty carefree and likes to just go with it. On days where the band is up for a long time or has a show, Hiro also needs coffee to keep himself re-energized. It has been said that if anyone in the band was addicted to caffeine, it's Hiro. It isn't uncommon for him to drink anywhere between 3-5 cups a day, so their coffee bill is rather high. But it keeps him quiet and in a good mood, so the others agree that it is well worth the cost. DEPENDABLE = Need something taken care of, like an errand or a quick favor? Hiro tries to do what he can to help out with the band. He is well aware that Eric handles most matters (and is quite excellent that that, too) but it makes him feel more important when he can do small things here and there to assist. He also has a strong sense of "if I say it, I must do it" going for him. Not that every word he speaks is concrete, but he won't make a promise if he isn't sure he can keep it. EFFEMINATE = Hiro isn't exactly the most manly of men. His father was always well-groomed and his mother had beautiful long hair, so it was only natural that Hiro take after both parents and stay neatly groomed. He's been called a pretty boy on many occasions, something that doesn't necessarily bother him but could be taken offensively if in the wrong mood. He isn't afraid to show emotion in public, either. That one's also courtesy of Mitsuo. EGOCENTRIC = What happens when you grow up in a very successful family? You don't fail as often. And when you don't fail as often, you don't have the skills necessary to learn that you cannot fall. Hiro can sometimes get the bighead, thinking that he's from a well-off family and doesn't have to put forth as much effort as the others. He also has to realize that not everything revolves around him, especially since he's just the bass player in the band. A swift kick from Toshi, though, and he's back level-headed and ready for anything! SEEMINGLY COLD / WARM TO CLOSE ONES = Sometimes being quiet is a bad thing. Hiro has a tendency to come off as cold at times due to his lack of communication. It's really more of an exterior thing because he seemed to be well-liked with the rest of the band. In reality, his fan-base is probably far less than Theo's or even Toshi's because he simply lacks the will to speak up and be super cheery. Thankfully he is a lot better around those he is more comfortable with. 03. History Hiroto Saito, born the only child of a wealthy businessman and housewife, grew up in an ever-changing environment. From the time he was born until the time he moved out on his own, Hiro lived in several different homes across a few different cities in Japan. His father was a "successful" businessman while his mother was simply a housewife. Different job opportunities were the main reason for the moves, apart from his father simply wanting a bigger and nicer house when he could actually afford it. Hiro's mother always tried to let Hiro do what he wanted. She never once pushed him in any direction, but instead allowed him to choose what he wanted to do and what interests he wanted to pursue. His father was a different story. Mituso Saito bought Hiro a violin when he was five years old, and expected Hiro to practice daily. Soon after, Hiro began taking lessons twice a week for the next few years. Did Hiro particularly enjoy playing the violin? Not really, but he never said much because he valued his father's opinion. Besides, who didn't want to be successful like their Dad? Like any successful businessman, Mitsuo took his wife Asami and his son to many of his events. Hiro frequented these meetings and social gatherings because he was asked, not because he particularly cared to. It was at one of these meetings that Hiro met a young boy named Toshiyuk Ishii. He didn't seem to be all that interested in what was going on either, and the two quickly became friends, despite their age difference. Hiro had never been around many other kids, other than school, so it was nice to have someone he could talk to and play with during these gatherings. As the years passed, so did the memories. Hiro saw more and more of Toshi throughout the years, most of them being at the meetings. There were a few times when the two ended up seeing each other at the same school, but those meetings were seldom. He wasn't exactly sure when, but the young teenage Japanese boy learned that his father and Toshi's father were business rivals, and that the reason they saw much of each other was because their fathers wanted to attract the same people's attentions. Eventually, the two became close and ended up talking much more often. They would communicate via email, and sometimes even by phone. Toshi became Hiro's only stable friend with all the constant moving around. Hiro learned to speak English somewhat well when his father began using it more often around the house. It was natural that he could speak both languages, being a wealthy man in the business industry, so he attempted to pass that along to his son. Hiro did alright, but it Japanese was definitely his language of choice. Just before his eighteenth birthday, Hiro discovered something during his final years of schooling. They had moved (once again) to another small area in Japan only to discover that Toshi was attending the same school. Even better was the fact that the two lived within walking distance of one another! Within a matter of weeks, Toshi and Hiro were hanging out at one another's houses along with talking about things they were both interested in. When the subject came to music, it was like everything in the world made sense. Both connected very well when it came to music as they had similar likes and dislikes in their tastes. This was also the time that Hiro picked up a guitar, learning it rather quickly. Hiro and Toshi spent countless hours together, talking about anything and everything a teenage male could discuss. This was the best time that Hiro had in a very long time, and the two became very close. In fact, within a few months, Hiro already moved out while taking a job to pay for the bills. Toshi followed right behind him, despite not being old enough to quite locate a job. Hiro's dad was proud that his only son was so eager to move out and live independently, but from time to time he made sure to send money to help out with the bills. Hiro honestly had no interest in attending school after graduation, especially since his dad didn't have a degree and was doing so well. And so for the next few years, Hiro worked as a server in a fine-dining establishment in order to pay the bills. Lo and behold, one fateful night Hiro met a young man named Theodoric Kobayashi. At first, Theodoric seemed like a normal guy that liked to enjoy a nice meal once in a while. But that wasn't the case. Theodoric, or Theo as he soon became known, was talking about music to the group of people he was with. For whatever reason, Hiro made small talk about music with this man, just to be friendly and all. From that moment on, things were going to change drastically. Theo discussed the need of a bass guitarist as well as a drummer. Of course, Hiro was all too quick to mention that he was a bass guitarist while his best friend Toshi was a pretty good drummer. After several meetings outside of work and many, many phone calls, both Hiro and Toshi were "adopted" into the band called Sound Fuse. Fast forward four years. Hiro and Toshi had just arrived at the Renaissance Hotel in Los Angeles, California on April 30th, joining the other three bandmates. Their name was known in Japan, but in the States it was a different story. Their following was a lot more close-knit and those that recognized the band were a slim, which was the whole goal of taking a vacation. Now, at their stay in Los Angeles, the group intends on having a great time and relaxing in the sunshine while they break from their recent tour through Japan. |
