Eric works as the Manager of his brother's band: Sound Fuse. He receives the income of someone from the middle class but lives like someone from the upper class because he is constantly following the band. Whatever perks the band receives, he usually gets a little bit since he is family.

DEPENDABLE// As the oldest person among the members and the band manager, Eric takes it upon himself to be responsible one of the group. Like a good parent /guardian/older brother type character, Eric will make sure that everything is in order and running smoothly. Whenever someone needs help, you can be sure that Eric will be there as someone to be relied on.

EASY GOING// Eric is a rather relaxed individual. He is not at all high strung and can take jokes directed at him. He realizes that even if jokes are directed at him, they are usually in good faith and are not meant to be hurtful. He is also rather relaxed in the sense that he is usually calm. He can take things as they come so long as they do not hurt his family.

A PLANNER// Eric plans. He plans everything. Arguably he has some form of mild obsessive compulsive disorder with the way he needs to make sure he has some sort of outline for everything. The plans may not be completely perfect but as long as he has some sort of general outline, he can function. Sans outline, and Eric will be completely lost until he forms some sort of plan.

A LEADER// Eric takes charge and is not afraid to command people and tell them what to do. He tries not to be overbearing but can come off as such at times. But if he does not nag them, how else will people ever get work done. Someone needs to be responsible around here.

SELF-DEPRECATING On some level, Eric hates or, at the very least, has a serious dislike of himself. When he fails, he blames himself and is unwilling to move on until he has somehow made up for it. Eric will tell himself how wrong he was and keep replaying the moment of failure in his mind. He keeps this depressing side of himself from others so as not to worry them but it can still take quite a toll on his self esteem. Once the depressing period passes, he will return to his calm, reliable self.

REPENTANT// To this day, he still feels guilty about his girlfriend’s death. It may not be his fault but he cannot help but feel that it is at least partly his fault. And as a result of the guilt, Eric is constantly trying to make up for it. He does good deeds but he knows that he does them not out of the goodness of his heart but because they make him feel at least a little better about himself.

WISE// They say that an intelligent man knows facts while a wise man knows himself. Eric is that wise man. He knows himself but that does not necessarily mean that he can change himself. He knows his limits and is unwilling to go past them. Of course this, also applies to his positive aspects as well. He understands his strengths and uses them to his advantage whenever possible.

A PUSHOVER// Eric is a pushover, sad but true. When it comes to his siblings, he would easily give in to what they want just because of his sheer adoration for them. It is only through sheer willpower and the fact that he knows nothing good will come from spoiling them. No matter how convincing or adorable they are. No, he does not have a sibling complex. Yes he does.

Herrick Dirk Kobayashi, also simply known as Eric, is the first child born to Japanese artist Kenta Kobayashi and his lovely wife Laureline Kobayashi. He was soon followed by his two younger brothers, Theodoric Floke Kobayashi and Leonard Jeffrey Kobayashi. All three of which can attribute their unusual names to their mother.

As a child, Eric has memories of living in both Japan and Germany. As a result he can speak English, German, and Japanese. During his adolescent years, Eric not only excelled in music but he also did very well in his school work. Eric had all the traits parents love having in their children: intelligent, obedient, and talented. Eric thought nothing of it. He merely did what he was asked to do in school and at home. It was with music that he was able to express himself. It was also through music that Eric met his long time girlfriend, Aya. Aya was what some might call “a free-spirit”. She did what she wanted when she wanted and always had a smile on her face. Aya loved going out and having fun but more than anything, Aya loved to sing. It was while on the commute home from school that Eric heard Aya singing and fell in love with her voice and soon, Aya herself.

When he was twenty one, life was great for Eric. He had a loving family, a stable job, and a steady girlfriend who he planned on proposing to one day when they were older. Around the same time, Eric, Aya, and some friends formed a band with Aya as the lead singer and Eric on the electric guitar. Eric also allowed Theo to join as a backup singer. The band was for fun and was never going to become famous but they did not mind. So long as they could have fun and enjoy the music that was all that counted.

However, tragedy struck when two year later. Eric found Aya’s dead body in the band room. Though no note was left, the death was ruled a suicide. Aya’s parents backed up the claim when they revealed that Aya had been depressed for some time. Her death came as a heavy blow to Eric who blamed himself for not noticing and being unable to save her. The band broke up soon thereafter.

Eric no longer played his guitar and fell into a depression. Nothing seemed to be able to bring him out of the slump when Theo revealed that he was forming his own band and made Eric manager. He refused at first but relented when he decided that it would be a good distraction for him. The band soon made it big and a very proud big brother Eric joined the band on their world tour as manager of Sound Fuse.
