So Lucas had succeeded in his attack, but it wasn't enough to stop the beast entirely. It was outnumbered, three to one, or so Alec supposed, so that should have given them some sort of advantage. Plus the strange woman was also telling Alec where to look, which meant she was able to sense its location through some means (he assumed it was another ability). The poor teen couldn't muster any sound in his voice; instead, he nodded and kept his eyes fixed in the location. But before the lady could even finish her orders, that familiar sickening crack resounded through the parking lot, two branches snaking out to try and capture the two people fighting it. Things were turning sour very quickly...
And that's when his body moved on its own. There was no intentional thought process, no heroic motives, no assessment of survival or anything. Alec simply moved. Both Lucas and this stranger were trying to do their best with dealing with this thing, but he wanted - no he needed to help. His eyes narrowed to the branch heading into the ginger man's direction, causing the teen to leap forward with as much momentum as he could gather (read: he flailed as he fell forward) with his knife out, ready to sink into some tree roots! There was no way he could reach the woman in time, but if he could get rid of the root that was going after Lucas, he might be able to make it to her before anything happened.
The situation wasn't all that dire, but Alec's adrenaline pumped like it was his last day on Earth. His hand reached the root and he put forward the weight of his entire body into that one stabbing effort, hoping to hit it dead-on and stop it before things got out of hand. Even if that's all he could do, it could still end up helping a lot.

Arcturus wasn't a stranger to ambushes, so while she was unable to stop the lightning fast strike that captured her ankle and yanked her, she was able to catch herself before she hit the pavement, ignoring the angry sting on her palm as it hit the asphalt. She threw her weight forward, almost seeming to curl into the fetal position as she reached the hand that held the hunting knife to where the root held her ankle fast. Unfortunately, her focus on sinking the blade rapidly into her shackle caused her to miss the other by several seconds, hurling a point at her chest. The one round her ankle released her with a shudder as she ruthlessly dragged the tip of the knife through its tough skin, and as she was moving to stand back up, the other caught her square in the shoulder.
Yes. Leave the society woman, she only wishes you dead the entity sang to itself, relishing in the triumph of its arm impaling the woman, gleeful of the young man choosing to leave her in favor of the awakened. However, the distraction caused by its celebration caused it to miscalculate the distance of the rather large attacker coming at its personification. By the time it focused and was able to react, there was little it could do but pull some of itself out of maintaining the humanoid figure. As the hammer the awakened man connected with the figure there was a small shudder in the earth as the entity curled and reached with some of its arms in a sign of discomfort, and a muffled, strangled-sounding wail came from the ground which it had retreated into. The figure it had made shattered into a hundred pieces of bark, twigs, and leaves, and it felt the portion of itself it hadn't managed to draw out dissipate.
On the surface, after the muted sound of misery, everything fell still for a second, an illusion of victory for a fleeting moment. The roots that had been attacking suddenly stopped moving, and either withdrew back into the ground or fell still, as if dead. The entity drew in on itself and gathered its strength back, allowing them a false sense of security. The small window was interrupted by an incredibly indigent Impedio society member. “Fucking shitasses.” was followed by a hiss and a small snarl as the woman dragged herself to her feet, the knife having swapped hands at some point amongst the action, but had obviously been used to saw off the offending root as close to where it had impaled her as she could – but had been swapped over so that she could hold her shoulder where her injury was.
She made a face, but the confidence in her step didn't waver as she walked back to the two men, despite the small trails of blood that ran down her arm and soaked into the edges of her shirt. The source of it was a hunk of root, maybe only half an inch thick, cleanly staking right through the lower part of her left shoulder. The only sign she gave of even acknowledging it was the hand that held the spot – in fact, she didn't even miss a beat as she spoke to them. “Not dead.” she informed them, listening to the feed in her ear, dark eyes swiveling to each spot it told her there was an energy spike. It was flaring up...everywhere. 'But no visible effects to it above ground.' she noted, as a few trees fluttered in the breeze, innocuous so long as the source was far away.
“It's underneath us and bouncing all over. Find it!” she ordered, tone offering no sympathy to those who didn't obey. She didn't care how they did it, so long as they did it. “Draw it out here somehow. I'll play with it a little, since it seems to like me.” It was tucked away, spreading itself throughout several trees and root systems – she needed it focused in one area. She needed it mad. With that in mind, she walked back to the exposed root she'd severed from her arm, flipped her knife back to her good hand, and pitilessly plunged the blade into the bark, dragging the blade along like she had with the other, and was rewarded with a shudder. “That's right douchewad come get me.” she said in a hushed tone, eyes gleaming and a taunt in her tone.

As the hammer connected with the wood of the tree, Lucas burst out into a triumphant laughter. It was finally over. He could almost cry with relief. He was looking forward to the second work out of the day he was promised, and helping Alec thorough his as well. He was just about to put the hammer down into the pile of twigs when a familiar voice called out, ruining his moment.
”Not Dead”
Lucas groaned as he looked around, there was nothing but trees. He gritted his teeth, gripping his hammer tightly as he did so. This was never going to end, there were too many options, like the protein powder wall as Poppey's Premier Protein Place. That reminded him he was almost out of chocolate flavor. He shook his head quickly, there was more to focus on, like how to make sure it would only go to one tree. He needed to get rid of the other options and fast.
He looked down at his hammer and frowned, it was definitely not the weapon for the job... but it could be. In fact there was a lot of metal in the area, power lines, signs and the pipes under ground. There was a lot he could use, but all he needed to do was find a way to eliminate options. He grined as he closed his eyes, feeling the energy flow through his body and radiate outwards. He felt the various metals around him and nodded, selecting the pipes in the earth as his tool. He asked them to break up, food the earth, and drown the trees, while simultaneously becoming long strong and sharp razor wire. From there, he had each strand he could form wrap around a tree, digging it's blades deeply into the wooden flesh. All but one tree, the one closest to the black woman.
He hopped this would be enough of a deterrent to force the monster where he wanted it to go. The earth was not going to be it's play thing any longer. And unlike the man with the eye, he was not going to show mercy.

The raven-haired boy was glad that he could do something to help, but it still wasn't much. Lucas and his dark-skinned counterpart were holding this thing at bay, and it took all Alec had to keep his signature awkward smile. He was honestly ready to throw a tantrum and yell "Why me" but it would do absolutely no good at all. But that was just before receiving the bad news that it wasn't dead just yet. Muscles McGhee managed to smack it with the hammer and Alec even heard it cry out in pain, but this was one of those "things", and they simply didn't just die that easily. No there was something they needed to do.
But what?
Alec was no leader nor was he the most brilliant when it came to planning, but he did retain some common sense, and that would take him far. Before he could make any suggestions, though, Lucas bent down toward the ground and concentrated. Just as confused as before, Alec paced around anxiously looking at every possible visible tree as well as any cracks in the asphalt. So far everything seemed calm...what in the world was he doing? The teen just stood there, moving about anxiously. This wasn't going exactly well. The woman was shouting for him to do something, but Lucas was already at work. Alec felt pretty useless considering all of the crap that he had been through recently. There was bound to be something that he could do...but what was it?
"Lucas, whatever you're doing, hurry up! I really don't like not seeing that thing!" Well, maybe if he talked about it then it would come after him...maybe. Now he was just grasping at something. anything. Despite the warmth outside, Alec felt cold shivers running down his spine. He was scared, already tired, and getting more agitated by the second.

Arcturus played with the outreaching limbs that came for her, more prepared this time, alertness focused entirely on the cluster of three animated roots that had come forth to assault her, relying on the other two to draw out the monster. She didn't trust them, oh no – she trusted their survival instinct. So while she danced, twirled, and made rapid slashed at the roots that had forced her into hand-to-hand mode, she was confident their desire to live would make them listen to her. She was a constantly flurry of motion, ignoring the buzz in her ear about where the energy spikes were – the only ones she was able to focus on were the ones jabbing and making grabs for her.
Meanwhile, the entity took the bait, intent on killing this woman that was a part of the group that obstructed their progress at every step. It knew very little about the group beyond that it had been around for a very, very long time and it had been a thorn in the side of anyone who was part of 'their' world – hence, thinning their numbers was merely payback. It was frustrated with how quick the woman was when it couldn't catch her by surprise, however, and it was too busy focusing all of itself on attempting to get ahold of her to notice what the other two were doing. It only noticed as suddenly, a small portion of its energy that was fueling a root rocketing towards the society woman was simply...gone. There was another small shudder as it lost another portion of its strength, and it moved its focus from the woman to see what had caused it pain.
In the lapse the ex-marine was able to dig her knife deep into another root, but the entity cared not, too busy taking note of the earth child concentrating and unmoving. So, it was him. Unsure what he was doing but deciding it best to relocate, it pulled all energy back, leaving the roots that had been attacking the apparent distraction lifeless. For a long moment, Arcturus didn't move, wary and ready for another attack. It became apparent, however, after about twenty seconds that it had left her. Taking a deep breath and cringing at the pain and bleeding that had been caused by all her movement, she started to move towards the other two at a brisk pace, ignoring the tinges of lightheartedness of blood loss was bringing. She'd call someone for the society for medical when it was dead, but for now she'd grit her teeth and deal.
The elemental, in the meantime, was panicking as it sent out feelers as it transferred from one vessel to the next, feeling small pieces of its energy being broken off and dissolved back into its natural, innocent state with each wire that cut into its feelers. After a few times of being caught, it was able to figure the pattern and where it would destroy connections next, and it began to anticipate, moving before it could be injured, but it knew some damage had already been done. Too late it realized it was being herded, cut off from all other access, and forced to one particular spot. Angered by the tactic, it concentrated all the energy it had left in one area, and prepared to extract itself.
Energy reading at one 'o clock, spike level twelve buzzed the earpiece just as the society member stepped up behind the young man and the awakened working all his energy to do just what she asked. She nodded approvingly, and swapped her knife to her lame hand, singing her arm to hold the tags she'd wrapped at her wrist earlier, holding them tight as her eyes fixed on the tree where the thing – the whole thing, according to that big reading – had come to a stop. She waited, ready, fairly sure it would be pissed and come for them. And she was not disappointed.
The force from which it emerged caused the tree to splinter and crack loudly, almost half the trunk being taken out as a concentration of bright, swirling lights came from it, but before the explosion of tree pieces could get far, they were pulled back, and held suspended around the cluster of energy. With wisps of it still attached to the inner parts of the tree, it began to violently pull off parts of it to form itself another body before the humans could reach it. The branches and leaves moved into a form not unlike the decoy from before, but the features were spaced apart and shifting around the energy, almost as if in orbit around it, and as soon as it was satisfied with it's corporeal form, it turned to the humans, virulent green and a sickening brown swirling and pulsing in the middle of the broken form in a mode of fury.
Arcturus, however, was in no mood, and had rushed forward as soon as it had started to piece itself together a form, and had almost reached it by the time it turned at them. She was assured it was completely out of the ground, having no other readings at all in her ear, and as such she felt confident in using her neutralizer. The entity used what was left of its link to the tree to use another root to attempt an attack at her, which she dodged, though not without a slight loss of balance. However, being on her feet didn't matter – his distance to the creature did...the closer it was, the more effective. The society member propel herself forward as she felt her balance start to tilt her sideways, knowing she would fall, throwing the hand that held her tags forward. At the same time, another set of roots was being set towards the two males, the short receiving the attack meant to kill, the larger graced with a set of two meant to hold his arms and take him captive.
The powerful energy pulses cause the object to react, there was an invisible but still palpable wave of energy that extended outwards from the tags held in the ex-marine's hand, and suddenly everything was deathly still. There was another shudder through the ground and that inhuman noise of pain, much louder this time around, and the elemental was suddenly completely unable to move. As the society woman crashed to the ground, the entity panicked, attempting to move the roots that had stopped only a couple feet from the two males it had been after, but found itself unable to. For that matter, parts of itself that maintained its falsified corporeal form began to fall to the ground, its power to hold them suspended muted, rendered almost useless. It was unable to move, unable to function beyond thoughts, and just about the only thing it could think was what monstrous thing does that woman have?!
Arcturus, satisfied but in considerable pain considering she landed on her side that still retained an injured arm, bit hard down on her lip to keep from screaming at the nauseating waves of pain that burned outward from her shoulder, and was glad how effective neutralizers were on pure elemental. She was forced to take a few moments still on the ground, concentrating on her breathing as she prayed for whatever god there was to let her recover before the elemental did. However, she knew it would do little good...she had no weapons that could take out pure energy at the moment. She really needed new bullets. Finally, she pulled herself into a sitting position, and her eyes fixed on the hulking redhead. “Kill it. You're the only one who can, my bullets can't do shit when they're not enchanted. Normal means can't exactly destroy a concentration of energy, so it's gotta be you. Anything you manipulate is automatically considered supernatural and able to hurt them.” she explained in a rush, jerking her head erratically in the direction of the swirling concentration of power forced into a stasis.

Lucas was breathing heavy, feeling himself weakened by the mass amount of energy he had to spend for that last display, but it was almost done. He watched in anger as the monster shifted, all of its power pooling into one being. He gritted his teeth as the final tree exploded, and slowly formed into the monsters, last stand. This was it! There was little else to do or think about, and Lucas couldn't spare the brain cells to worry about anything but the death of the creature that tried to hurt him and Alec.
Lucas gritted his teeth and began to run towards the monster, his hammer at the ready. He leaped into the air, higher then the average human could ever hope to do, and with a mighty swing, he brought the weapon crashing down, the sickening crunch of metal on wood rung out loudly. He roared as he increased the weight of the hammer, making it denser. There was no way he would allow anything to interrupt his triumph, not even physics.

The next few moments and came left; just like that, everything was all over. It seemed to have been a blur, really. In the heat of the moment, Alec paced around and moved trying to come up with some sort of plan to help out with things, but now that his adrenaline was leaving his body, he was left feeling fatigued. He couldnt' quite understand what had just happened. Surely it wasn't as it had seemed, right? Lucas...The dark-skinned woman...that thing that looked too much like a tree...it was just too weird. But he couldn't deny it. If he denied it, he would have denied Anaheim, and to deny that would have been ridiculous. In fact, even this stranger knew the truth about Anaheim, or so Alec had assumed. The way she mentioned it sounded very much like she knew exactly what went on, which worried Alec even more. Who was she and what was she here for? What kind of connections did she have with these sort of happenings?
As soon as the words escaped her mouth, Lucas bound into action in what looked like the goofiest, most comical manifestation of a heroic action sequence ever played out in the history of doofy moments. It was too surreal, really. Lucas managed to swing that frigging gigantic hammer and crush the monster-thing, but did he really have to make all that noise? At the moment, all the poor teen could do was to stare an gape in shock. Finally, words happened. They weren't appropriate words, but he was doing well enough just to make noise period.
"...was that really necessary?"
Mentally, he punched himself - not only for the comment, but for the inappropriate timing. It was his trademark, after all, but did he really have to do that right then? It was very overly dramatic and just over the top. But something about it was endearing. It almost reminded him of his younger days when he would play superheros in the back yard. This guy was just a large kid trapped inside of a musclehead's body. Yes, that's what he was. There was no other reasonable option at least, so that's what Alec stuck with.
He turned his attention to the lady who had ordered death on a silver platter and managed to make some more words, this time a bit more coherent and appropriate. "So...is it really dead this time?"

She was glad, at the very least, that not-so-bright was good at following orders. She managed to scoot herself away from the blast as he brought his weapon down on the core of the elemental, and another inhuman wail, almost deafening this time, sounded as it connected with the swirly concentration of energy. Where normal objects would simply pass through (ala her own hunting knife), the hammer connected, harshly in fact, and the control the entity had over the debris that it was attempting to maintain a corporeal form with – or what remained of it – shattered, bark and limbs and leaves from the half-stripped tree falling to the ground. Regardless, it continued to fight, attempting to rail against the pressuring bearing down on it, the similar but not-quite-the-same elemental power clashing with its own.
It was too much, however, and as it attempted to retreat back into the roots in which it traveled, the momentary lapse in resoluteness cause it to shatter, the swirling green and brown scattering into a million colored glowing fragments all around them. The fragments disappeared in wisps before they could even hit the ground, and everything went still. Arcturus carefully pulled the device attached to hip up far enough to hit a few buttons, and after a moment a scan confirmed no remains of energy readings. She let out a breath, clipped the interface back to her belt, and slowly pulled herself to her feet. When she finally managed to right herself, placing her weapons back in their place and her tags slung back around her neck, she turned to the two targets of the attack.
“Follow me – trust me if you don't you're gonna draw a crowd.” she ordered, pointing the two of them towards her truck, which luckily was a fair bit a ways down the parking lot. There were some other vehicles that weren't so lucky, turned on their sides from the ground heaving beneath the, but otherwise most of the damage came from the cracks and gaping holes in the pavement. She didn't envy who had to re-pave the place. Ignoring said damage, however, she made a beeline for her truck, free hand moving back up to cradle her aching shoulder again, attempting to plow through the pulsing, searing pain radiating outwards from the wound. When she reached the truck, she gingerly open the door, and pulled herself to sit in the drivers seat, body facing the outside and feet resting on the running board as she twisted to grab her phone.
It took her a moment to punch in the few numbers she needed, and she had to struggle to hold it between her ear and shoulder as she cringed and reached for her injury again, but there was no pain in her voice as someone obviously picked up on the other side. “Yeah, I need a cleanup crew.” There was a pause, followed by her frowning. “Hey asshole, this is the first time in two weeks and I was minding my own business when shit hit the fan, alright? Medic might be nice too...got a bit of a scratch...” The one-sided conversation went on for about a minute, maybe a minute and a half, in which she relayed the address and assessed the level of damage, both to the area, herself, and how many witnesses there were. After she was done, she licked the phone off and hopped back out of the truck
“Right you two have about five to ten minutes before you need to find a way to become very scarce – be glad I'm letting you run free, should be taking you in for a little questioning and information.” she informed them, keeping everything purposely vague about her organization. Many would assume government – you know, like those movies that had all those 'so super secret even most the government doesn't know its exists' type deal – and she was happy to let them think that. They had ties within the government, sure, but they definitely weren't tied to them very closely. It was so easy to play the secret government card, though – if they posed any questions dangerous for all of them, 'that's classified' was an intimidating phrase to use to avoid them that tied in nice with that image.

Lucas dropped the hammer as the being shattered. He took a deep breath, what felt like the first one in a long time. He feel to his knees and let out a the breath in a deep sigh, glad it was over. He looked back towards Alec, a shadow crossing his face. The kid probably thought he was some kind of freak now. He looked at the hammer beside him, and watched as it gradually returned to being the barbell and weight it was originally. He carefully got up onto his feet and walked towards the others, leaving his weapon were it lay.
He looked around the battle field, wondering how much it would cost the city to fix all this. Because of him there were several broken pipes beneath them. He made a promise to himself to return later that evening and fix them. It was the least he could do. He looked away from Alec, bracing himself for the harsh words, or the disgust. The word “Monster” and “Freak” entered his mind. He had been called that before in the gym, but then it was a form of endearment, not truly meant as harmful.
The black chick was on her phone, barking away at someone else. He wondered if there was anyone she didn't talk to like that. Quietly Lucas followed along, glancing at Alec from the corner of his eyes. “So... Um... That tends to happen around me a lot.” He rubbed the back of his head and looked away. He looked to the woman as she got off her phone. ”What the hell was that thing?”

Without a single hesitation, Alec followed the dark-skinned woman's orders. For starters, she seemed to be so nonchalant about this whole ordeal, and her bossy attitude suggested that she knew a lot more than he and Lucas did. Questions flooded his brain, drowning out the sound of his feet crunching against the scattered gravel. Lucas spoke, interrupting his train of thought, but it sounded as if his tone had changed from the strong, resonant voice to something more delicate. He wasn't sure, but it almost sounded like he was embarrassed about something. But what? What could he have been distraught over?
That's when the impact of his words smacked Alec in the face. Tends to happen around him a lot? Alec simply looked down and shook his head, trying to think of something to say. He wanted to tell the ginger that it was alright and that he understood, but the truth was as far from that as could be. This was his second real encounter with the oddities. Was all of this happening because of Lucas? No that couldn't be right. Alec hadn't met the man before he went to the concert in Anaheim...or had he? The dates were rather fuzzy. The teen couldn't necessarily blame this on Lucas though - at least not right now. "Well...this isn't the first time I've been through something like this either..."
They arrived at the woman's truck as she pressed her tongue to the phone. It was the oddest thing he had ever seen; did people actually use their tongues to turn it off? It was really no worse than fighting a living tree or holographic Japanese artists with bloodlust. What he wanted most right now was answers. But to what questions? He had no questions to ask her that she would likely answer, but it seemed that Lucas did. Alec wanted to tell him that it was a tree monster; he wanted to snap at the man for asking a question that, in that moment, seemed absurd. As he finished, Alec piped up with his own question, hoping to at least find out something about all of this. "You mentioned Anaheim...these two are related then, right? So why me? Why is this happening over and over to an ordinary, shrimpy kid like me? As far as I can tell there's not a damned thing special about me, so why am I being thrown into this all of a sudden?" He realized that as he rambled on, his voice got louder and more forceful. Alec was upset, but most importantly he was angry. Angry at who? He honestly didn't know, but this was not something he was ready to deal with.

Her dark eyes flitted between the two of them, unsurprised by the questions asking what that was. As involved as they were, they didn't have cold hard information laying around like they did – they could have fought a dozen of them and still not know what to call them, beyond maybe the generic 'monsters'. “Elemental. Only about an average one, I suspect. Maybe a little tougher, hard to tell when they won't fight you face to face. Though not that many do.” she replied, a tone of derision in her tone when regarding the fact so many fought from stealth. She spoke with a tone as if she'd given this speech a lot – flat, mechanical, and a little bit annoyed. She'd trained enough newbies in her days as a normal combat trainer that she had, indeed, done a lot of explaining of bogies.
She gingerly started to reach for her injury when another question – or rather a slew of questions – was thrown at her by the other one, and she resisted a sigh. “Kid, didn't you hear me say you don't get a choice in it? Some people can't avoid it because they're tied to it, and some people just get caught in the crossfire.” she paused, going back to eying her injury which still bore the hunk of wood that was stopping the majority of the blood flow, ignoring the light dizziness she was starting to suffer. “And some people try to save the people caught in the crossfire when they can.” was her added statement, and largest hint they were getting to what she'd even been doing there.
“But besides that point, yes they're related. Don't believe everything the media tells ya kid – not everything is a freak accident.” Normally that would be the last thing she'd want to say, but these two were already involved – she only wanted to keep those who had had no direct contact away from the fray, wanted them to keep believing the completely bogus stories their cover agents planted. But these two...it was too late to back out for them, they'd seen too much and would be able to see through a lot of the transparent stories eventually.

Lucas growled quietly under his breath, that thing was average?! It was huge, and quite powerful, it had done such horrible things to the trees. Lucas wondered how much pain the earth had felt, based off the screaming, it had to be a lot. ”So a lot of them like to hide away, huh? I’m not much for long range.” Lucas said, mostly to himself. He looked down at Alec who was beginning to spew out his own questions. They were interesting, and he wished he had asked those as well.
Hearing that it wasn’t a choice, and that it just happened was a strange comfort for the man. Though it made him clench his fist in anger. Not much had been his choice back home as well. He wondered what incident Alec was talking about, might have been the museum thing. He wasn’t quite sure what was going on, but it was getting crazier and crazier.
”Like the lawyer’s office, right? The media said is was a mini explosion or something. But it was those freaky metal people.” Lucas added, not quite sure if it was important, be he thought it might. ”Oh! uhh... one of them got away.”

Average...Alec wasn't sure how "average" that thing was, but he knew that it was definitely comparable to that monster at Anaheim. The noises it made were excruciating, so it might have even been worse. But it seemed to just leave after all was said and done, so was it really more than average? The raven-haired kid didn't know what to think, in all honesty. He had no way of comparing this thing with others - only the one that he had known. It was good to know that this thing was called an elemental, which meant it had some characteristic of an element. Was it an element of nature? Or something like fire or wind? If Alec had to choose, that thing was definitely earth (not that it really mattered). But at least he knew what to call it, and he knew that whatever it was couldn't spell good news. Not for anyone.
He wasn't sure what she meant by some people were trying to help. He did know that she had helped them out, but was that really the reason she was there? Alec wanted to know who these people were that helped out, but he felt as if his onslaught of questions was coming to a close. Soon the police would be there, and the last thing Alec wanted to see was a sketch of him, Lucas, and this lady on tv. But she kept talking, so Alec stayed where he was for a few more moments, feeling the urge to leave pressing at him.
Don't believe everything the media tells ya kid – not everything is a freak accident... Well Alec had gathered that so far. Apparently Anaheim was nothing but gas leak, and that lead to only God knows how much destruction. So whoever she was, it seemed that she had been telling the truth all along. Now, feeling very fatigued, Alec listened as his musclehead friend blubbered on about something he had no knowledge of. He reached out and touched the man's arm, just at the bend, and spoke up. "Lucas we probably need to go. Like now. the cops are going to show up and they're going to lock us up like we're crazy." He turned away and started heading in the direction of the nearest bus stop, hoping to hop on before the police arrived. He turned back and looked at the young woman, still injured and trying to keep a strong facade going. "Thank you. We might not have made it out if you weren't here. I owe you one." He had way too much on his mind right now to even think about helping. There was nothing he could do to help the dark-skinned woman, and even if he could she was probably just going to tell him to buzz off. He sighed, threw his shoulders back, and started walking, hoping Lucas was following close behind.
WORDS!: xxx TAG!: Lucas, Arc NOTES!: Well that was fun

The mention of the Wright Law offices had her nodding when he mentioned them. “Both incidents there, yes.” she commented, mentally filing away the information of the escaped creature. They'd investigated that place top to bottom when they could, but it had already been picked over thoroughly, so much so they suspected influence beyond the police force – they they had no proof of it, and no evidence to point them in the right direction – but the access to the booking they'd gotten to had told them a lot of names. Sadly it did not tell them if the few remains they had found were all the transformed – so the information was useful. She made no mention of this, however – simply nodded to it and remained silent for a moment.
She waited to see if there was anything else going to be thrown at her, but the younger of the two was obviously becoming more nervous by the moment, and started to rush the other out of the area – which she certainly wouldn't complain about. She was good at working under pressure and all, and could grit her teeth through combat with an injury, but with the adrenaline and instinct draining out of her body, she was becoming more aware of the pain and the heady feel of blood loss because her motherfucking arm was impaled. So the more time went by, the less chatty she felt. And for that matter the less generous – some part of her still debated taking them in to the society for questions and background info but...she just didn't have it in her to attempt to restrain them.
Instead, she responded to the kid's comment about the police that was inevitably on the way, scoffing a bit under her breath. “Cops are the least of your worries – but I do agree on getting out now. I think I'll stay – driving isn't the best idea for me.” she stated, waving them off with the hand attached to the non-injured arm. As they both moved off she was grimly thankful Giovanni had never answered, knowing now that he would have killed the dim-witted one – sure, he was a little annoying, but a threat...not particularly. Then again, to Giovanni, they didn't have to be a threat for him top decapitate them anyway. She groaned when she began to hear the distant sirens, groping back into her truck for her ID that claimed her as a special branch of the military – which, being actual former military certainly reinforced that story, but it was still annoying.
She just hoped her own backup arrived here before or at the same time as the long arm of the law. And hopefully her backup had a med tech with them.
Notes: I am so sorry you two but its finally done <3

Overall Score: 6/10 Individual Analysis: Alec MatthewsKid just stood around smelling the flowers – which by the way were vicious at the time. Good on him for staying out of trouble, I guess – and bait can be good and all – but obviously doesn't function well under stress. He's also about as intimidating as a wet kitten. Will add this to the report of the Anaheim incident. Status: Minimum Threat Individual Analysis: Lucas O'ConnerFairly developed earth-based powers, poorly developed brain power. Seems to lack some reserve when using his element, which could cause public spectacles. Was useful when it counted and followed instructions well, lacks finesse with his abilities, which as with anyone, could be a potential danger. Will keep an eye on him. Definitely not the brightest banana in the bunch, but he seems to have about as much malicious intent as the wet kitten. Incident and notes will be added to his profile in our files. Status: Moderate Threat Residue Rewards: 2 for Alec (Thread Finish, Survival) 3 to Lucas (Thread Finish, Survival, Successfully Luring Elemental)
