Second Floor + Tablet Location | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
From the stairs of the ocean hall, you will meet a hallway that branches out into multiple directions. To the left it a door that leads to a rather large room with the tablet found towards the back of the room. In this room it is empty, with only a few folding chairs off to the side. The tablet is protected inside a beautiful, almost glowing, glass case that has no lock, but cannot be opened. | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 500px; height: 35px;] |

Fate | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
And Fate had to wonder why exactly it had chosen the people it had to do the task it had set out for them. In all honest, it looked like Destiny was winning this round after all, and it took almost all its willpower not to destroy it's own team. Of course, that wouldn't do well. Fate could not interact with the tablet, it just couldn't be. But with the people on Destiny's side already there, waiting... well, the little entity couldn't just let them win so easily. No, just where was the fun in that? Well, there wasn't so much fun really as it was "guiding them" (though not so much guiding as pushing them as fast as it could without interfering), and before long they had finally approached the Ocean Hall.
At long last. Finally, they could begin what would really truly define this battle. And if Fate lost... well, let's just say that it would not be a happy entity. | [cs=3][atrb=style,width: 460px; text-align: center; padding-left: 20px; padding-right: 20px;]
ILLUSION ELEMENTAL | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
As she followed, she could feel Fate. The one who summoned her made an appearance. Oh, how she wanted to apologize for leading them astray, and slowing them down, but it was fun as it lasted, was it not? But now, the elemental had to deal with other people. Other people that, honestly, she really did not want to take care of at the moment. If only she and the blond man... no, that was wistful thinking. Although at the moment it could conjure up a romantic scene, it was just too damn hard to do that, especially when she had been the one to rouse the stress that was currently in his head. Should she have done it, probably not. Could she resist, most absolutely definitely not. It was too fun, too much fun.
She had retreated to the shadows mostly, as she could no longer hide her form as she had. The cast a haze amongst the others would be too much, hiding proved to be much easier. Too much power used up on such a little thing, it would be her downfall should she choose to act on it. But at the same time, she could not ignore the nagging feeling she was getting for taking off the haze and hiding instead. | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 500px; height: 35px;] |

Destiny & Raptors | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
The ocean hall, finally this group was so close to completing their task. Look, look, the stairs are right there, all they needed to do was go up, reach the tablet and then all would be well. Destiny's group was closer the the stairs, this was good they would make it first. Destiny would win, the tablet would be taken care of and Fate will not steal such a powerful object. Finally Destiny showed itself, a small glowing orb, it floated over the group it had claimed and watched the room closely. Just to noticed a large sea creature that moved across the room, straight towards all the humans. No no, this would just not do, against Destiny's better judgement, or understanding, it moved. The ball shot across the room and passed though the large lizard like creature. Using its power Destiny halted the creature's moment before it got any closer to the humans. Saving the humans would later prove to be a mistake, Destiny just shared its location to Fate.
The Raptor siblings were better distracted by other things, two decided that they had no reason to stick around and were already gone before Fate's team appeared. Where had they went? A good question, that for the moment had no answer. The only raptor left was the one that still had Yana on it's back. It stood ahead of the two men of the group, looking back at them. Yes the room before had cause many pains, but they had to keep moving. The Raptor panicked when it spotted Marielle and Viktor, no no, Fate's team was already here. The dinosaur made a sound of distress as it looked back at Nate and Alec, still standing between the hall of the ocean hall and ice age room. Unsure of what else to do, it headed for the stairs, taking each step up slowly. After all, it did still have a human on it's back, and the raptor was not sure if Yana, or the men, would follow it up to the second floor.

Tablet | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
The tablet could feel it, for being and item it knew only of one thing, to protect itself from those that were not worthy of using its power. It could feel extreme power as Fate and Destiny only got closer? Was it's pets not strong enough? There was nothing on the second floor, what was it to do now? The only thing it could do now was call for help, help to those with links to the past. It reached out, finding one young man that had what it took to help safe it from it's prison. It pulsed and called to Alec, not with words, but with feeling. The pulsing, only meant to become stronger the closer the young man got, was soft as first. What the tablet did not notice was that Alec was not the only human it could call, there was a women, who for some strange reason could also feel this pulsing. This women, who was called Marielle, was also met by the same call.

Alec rubbed a raw spot on his back, feeling one of the gashes that his previous prehistoric friend gave him. He was tired, hungry, and above all ready to get the hell out of this god forsaken museum. He was finally past the point of being traumatized; sometimes he would wonder if this whole ordeal was even real or not. Turns out that, to his dismay, it was all very real, and somehow something out there wanted him dead. From this, he had gained a new personal insight - he was a hell of a lot tougher than he previously ever thought. Nowadays he couldn't sleep but for a few hours at a time, up and moving about to make sure that he was safe from any type of otherworldly danger. To most he should have been locked into a psych ward, but to him he was only being cautious. This was the type of danger you would read about in science fiction novels except for one tiny fact - it was all real. Now, for a short moment, Alec was confused. As he and his two companions made their way through the hall, he could feel something calling for him even more. It was almost as if he were being pulled forward, now the feeling getting stronger and stronger. Something appeared above the group that Alec hadn't noticed before. It was a small, orb-like object that gave off a faint glow. Well what else is new... There was no malicious presence, or at least not to the teenager, so he didn't pay any mind to it. Until it shot off in one direction, stopping what appeared to be a very nasty reptile heading their way. Now don't get him wrong - Alec was VERY greatful for the presence of that orb. However, now he was more curious than ever. Something again had saved them, but what was it? There wasn't much time to ponder this because now that familiar pulling sensation was stronger than ever. In a soft voice, Alec spoke up. "Guys we're almost there. We just need to head up those stairs and...well, I'll figure it out when I get there I guess." His spirits were lifted when he saw another group of people on the other side of the exhibit, walking carefully toward them. He couldn't make out who they were, but it was definitely nice to see some friendly faces. When the raptor gave some sort of cry, Alec immediately widened his eyes in suspicion... If the raptor didn't trust them, why should he? Something told him to move and to move quickly, and that's immediately what he did. "Hurry up guys!" In no time Alec was sprinting as fast as he possibly could, making his way for the staircase in front of him. They would easily make it upstairs before the other group could, and if they had to keep these other people away it would be easier with his group at the top of the stairs. Once his feet landed softly on the stairs, he bolted upward with no sign of slowing or stopping. The only thing he could feel was his body going into overdrive; the adrenaline was taking its course and would not stop until he could figure out what the hell wanted him up here so badly. Once he made it to the top of the staircase, he took one step onto the floor and immediately felt really strange. He hoped that Nate or Yana was close behind him because he could feel his legs becoming wobbly, and after what seemed like an eternity he blacked out. It was mid-afternoon and the streets were filled with people. Merchant stalls lined the sides of streets with fresh catches of the day. The only people that wouldn't be found on this type of day would be those whose ranks were respectable and known throughout the land, for there was another battle coming and preparations had to be made. The room held archaic scrolls and tomes tacked to the walls and on desks. Somehow, Alec knows that he lived here in a previous life. He was taken in by the palace and raised there, achieving a high rank that signified his importance to the kingdom. In the room, he could make out several people sitting at a table and talking about strategies. He ccan hear the person that he once was but could not make out the gender of the voice nor the exact face of any of the counsel. The meeting was soon adjourned and he left to go meet with someone else from the palace, which leaves Alec confused about who he was and why he was doing all of this. Alec is flooded with other memories of strategies, ranks of the kingdom, and other important information, but it seems to fade just as quickly as he remembers it. Then everything seems dark once more. Alec awoke, sweat pouring from his face and soaking his now drenched clothes. He had no idea how long he had been unconscious, or even if he ever went unconscious. Whatever he just felt was something very important. it was like a cloud lifted from his head and he could remember things he never dreamed of. It was strange, but Alec didn't have time to ponder it. For now, he wiped his palms on his clothes and kept moving toward the direction of the tablet. WORDS!: 918 TAG!: Event Participants NOTES!: Please don't mirror post...I beg of you!

Words: 419 Tags: Event Hoes Moving at a half-jog and pushing her date to do the same, Marielle had ignored most the activity in their last room, as nothing jumped out to attack them there was no need (the noises ere off-putting but not in any way obstructing). She'd shoved her unused bottle of mace onto Lyanne's hands and in turn dug into her bag to pull out her beloved taser, which she lightly flicked the switch on so that it sparked menacingly for a brief second, before dying down. She decided now was not the time to play nice, and this was about the biggest form of weaponry she had right now. After this she was debating looking into a gun permit, though.
Finally out of the narrow halls filled with eerie noises and into a large, sweeping hall, she allowed herself a short moment of relief, slowing her stride a bit but still keeping pace behind the other woman who was leading them to the stairs. When she spotted another gaggle of people across the way, she started to lift her hand to get their attention, planning on asking them all of they were okay, but before she could even open her mouth they started to take off, as if they...weren't glad to see something other than reanimated creatures. Her eyebrows drew together as she watched a young man dart up the stairs, and she was instantly suspicious. Why would you run away from another group of survivors who could help you...?
She didn't like it, and her taser cracked lightly again as she idly tapped the button. The dark-haired woman had a feeling this wasn't going to end well, and she wasn't afraid to incapacitate someone if they got in her way – though to be fair, considering their reaction, she had no idea if they were real to begin with – anything was possible at this point, they could be something meant to lure them, could not even be alive at all, or they could be the cause of this being caught red-handed – who knew. No matter what they were, they better not get in her way.
With the stairs in sight and no longer needing a guide until they got to the top, Marielle started trotting her way across the huge hall, quite sure she wouldn't reach the stairs before the last of the group disappeared but unwilling to be any farther behind than she had to be. She didn't like this. She didn't like this at all.

Nate honestly had no idea what was going on anymore. They had finally made it to the ocean hall and much to his dismay, the once inanimate creatures in that room were also moving as they had when they were once living. However, he was at the very least grateful that many of the aquatic animals did not seem to be able to swim and instead flopped absurdly where ever they were originally positioned. It seemed that this room, like the African voices room, would be safe for the most part. He did not spot the form of the giant amphibious creature coming towards the trio until the bright ball of light suddenly came into view and collided with the monstrous lizard. Thankfully, at that point the lizard was incapacitated and they were safe from anything else in the room.
Once the bright light died down and the whole ordeal was over, Nate realized that past all the glass and reanimated creatures were other people; living people and not some sort of dangerous and deadly creature that they would have to deal with. It seemed that some others had also thought of the same idea and were also trying to get onto the second floor of the museum. While Nate would have much preferred it if it were some sort of rescue team to get them out of the building, there was safety in numbers and more people to join them would have been beneficial. And to be perfectly honest, more people meant more targets which meant that he had a greater chance of surviving.
His attention was drawn away from the other humans when the one of the raptors made an odd sound that reminded Nate of a puppy in distress. The extinct reptile looked at Nate and motioned for it to follow them up the stairs. Nate hesitated. He wanted to call out to the other people but the velociraptor did not seem to keen on them making contact. With one last look at the group of people, Nate turned and went up the stairs with everyone else.
Once on the second floor, Nate did not see anything particularly interesting. If anything, it was the safest place in the entire museum from the looks of it. There were no exhibits and there was nothing that proved to be an immediate threat to their lives. Nate desperately hoped that everything would go smoothly from that point on. Unfortunately, Alec suddenly froze and gave off a glassy eyed look.
Nate turned to the other man. ”Are you okay?” |

The African voices room was nothing but a blur to her. Yana was more interested in holding onto the other raptor for dear life. The gait of the raptor was smooth, but she didn't want to fall. She was the least injured, but the slowest - at least according to the raptor. Her skin was flushed as her new gift swirled around in her. The extinguisher had been put into her backpack on her back, but the straps to her bag were warm from her increasing body temperature.
It was getting closer and closer to it's final destination, or so she hoped. They paused at the stairs when she saw movement on the other side of their hall. Were those humans too? Yana perked up a little bit and lifted her hand to wave, but the raptor was already jogging up the steps. Yana made a soft noise but held on, her legs hooking around the raptor like a horse.
You know, she could get used to this...
Yana's heart was pounding as they made it up to the next floor. Where were the other two raptors? They were supposed to be protecting---her thoughts were cut off when a bright light burst into a creature heading straight for them, illuminating the room for a moment as they got to the landing. Alec and Nate were right behind her, and once the raptor came to a stand still, Yana waited before gently slipping off of his back. "Thank you, very very much." Her voice was quiet as she looked at her two friends and pulled out the fire extinguisher again, holding it loosely by it's metal handle. Most of the fish couldn't move, and the sharks hanging from the ceiling were slowly swaying as they tried to swim through mid air and failed. "Well... at least no fish are going to kill us in here. Now, we need to find that back exit. Alec, you... Is he okay?"

With all the weirdness that had been happening in the museum, the blonde spy was somewhat surprised that nothing was currently jumping out at them. The lack of activity, however, did nothing to calm Viktor's nerves. If anything, it just made him more on edge than before. But regardless of this, he attempted to remain calm as the trio walked out from the room, staying a few strides behind the two women as they entered into a large hall.
Hazel green eyes swept over the area, taking in all the sights there were until his attention landed on a group of people not too far away. A small wave of relief flooded through him at the thought of other survivors trying to fix this problem, but it didn't last too long when they darted towards the staircase. Confusion hit Viktor for a brief moment as he clutched his gun, pondering as to why they would run away from more people. Wouldn't it be a good idea to stick together and work together to fix this problem and escape the museum once and for all?
Following after the shorter of the two women, the blonde Russian quickened his pace and made his way over to the stairs as quickly as possible. He wasn't exactly sure what it was, but it didn't seem like a good idea to allow the other group to get too far ahead of them. There was that, and he wanted answers as to why they ran away from them. They posed no threat... as far as he knew. Unless... they were after the supposed mystical artifact that was currently within the museum. Then that just wouldn't do...
No, that wouldn't do at all and he would be damned if he let them get to the object first. But why was he feeling this way? It was almost as if he was being compelled to find the artifact first before anyone else could.
Shoving the feeling aside for the moment, he quickly ascended up the stairs as he tried to catch up to the other group of people, not caring at all if the two women managed to keep up.

Honestly, he was very thankful to have the comrades that were present. Over the past half hour or so, Alec had been growing closer and closer to these two strangers. Yana seemed like a nice girl in general and Nate had been nothing but super helpful. Their concern with his health was very endearing, but now wasn't the time to make idle chat. They were unaware of the importance of the situation, which was understandable, but Alec somehow knew that things were becoming very...queer.
"Thanks guys I think I'll be okay." What he really meant was that he had no idea what in the hell just happened to him but he had a strange feeling that he had lived through what he saw. Now wasn't the time to stop and ponder because he had to do something. With or without his teammates, he locked eyes with a case in the back of the room. Strangely enough, this room seemed to be just fine, power stable and lights were all on. That wasn't his concern; what did matter was the case all the way in the back. As if he were on auto-pilot, Alec proceeded forward to the case, hands slightly trembling. He wielded the opened knife in his right hand once more, just to be sure.
In front of him, he could make out the words on the case. It was...strange. They should have looked like a bunch of symbols and weird shapes, but to Alec they made perfect sense. In a loud voice, he spoke to ensure that his companions could hear. "The oath of the protectors. Protect both room and sources of power so the kingdoms may find peace once more. To open, one must be open to ones destiny" Destiny... That word stood out to Alec. Was it somehow Destiny that brought him here? Maybe it was a god. Or he could just be going crazy. He wasn't sure that the others could read it. Maybe it was someone from the Spirit Kingdom that was guiding him. Either way, he felt himself inching forward to get a closer look.
"Whatever this is, it's important. It has to be protected." For a moment, things began to snap in place. Those other people...were they also protectors of this tablet? Or were they enemies that wanted it all for themselves...Alec had so many questions with so little time to answer. Any second now, they would be bounding up the staircase after them. Quickly, he flung the door open of the case, waiting for an alarm to sound. Nothing. Reaching inside, he picked up the tablet (which was a bit heavier than he expected) and looked around for an idea.
"Yana, here put this in your bag. Protect it with everything you've got. Nate please take care of her. This thing is more important than all of our lives put together...Something about it. I don't know, but please - we have to keep this thing safe. I'll do my best too." With sweaty hands, Alec proceeded to hand it to Yana so that she could place it in her bag. Maybe they could do this quickly enough so the other band of people wouldn't know a thing.

Before the tablet could be handed off to new hands it reacted to the young man who had taken hold of it. He was not here alone, Destiny had been guiding him this whole time, it could feel it. This human had no right to hold it, no right to remove it from it's case. Now Alec, the man who could read the case, he would learn of the mistake he had made. The crystallized case had been willing to open for the man, but only open, never did it say that he was allowed to touch.
As quick as lighting, tentacles made of light shot out of the case and wrapped around the Tablet and yanked it from the male's hands. Forcing the tablet back into it's resting place within the open case. These tentacles of light were not done, one shot out and pierced into the man's side. He would be one of the lucky ones, the feelers passing by vial organs, and only being as round as a dime. There was something that had saved him, protected him from instant death, but what would remain a secrete. This was punishment, the case did not agree with who had taken the tablet from it's protection. This, this is what Fate and Destiny had feared, a trap left by the creator of the Table. The case, using its one and only defense glowed softly and then dimmed.
The Tablet is now free to be held by anyone.

Words: 553 Notes: You pissed off the history buff...whoops... She crossed the rest of the floor and took the stairs two at a time, keeping up with the blonde man despite his obvious advantage of longer legs, closely trailed by Lyanne the whole time. There was a brief hesitation when they made it to the top, before a hand suddenly clasped around Marielle's upper arm and dragged her around the corner towards an ajar door. “Over here.” she intoned quietly, motioning with her hand towards the man that accompanied them. There was a few hurried moments of half-jogging to the room she was indicating, before they finally breached the doorway and caught sight of the other group.
There was a split second of stillness from the two women as they took in the scene, the darker haired becoming increasingly suspicious as she saw the young man holding the artifact that was undoubtedly what Lyanne had spoken about, and her date simply wearing an expression of pure unadulterated shock. There was enough time in that moment for Marielle to glance at her and wonder for a moment if she would pass out in a dramatic fashion akin to medieval era maidens when they witnessed something particularly atrocious – her face certainly looked like a prelude to such an action.
Before the nurse could even open her mouth to question why he was taking the object however, everything happened at once. Light arced forth from the tablet at the same time as Lyanne moved towards the kid, the hand that held the mace that Marielle had handed off to her extended outward. She crossed the room in four very impressive strides, and at the exact moment the energy from the tablet struck the kid, Lyanne did, too – spraying the mace in his direction wildly for a few moments, rendering Marielle speechless as she watched her date assault a random person.
She supposed she should have been more...concerned about this, but to be frank her suspicions had increased tenfold when she saw it being held by the other group, which meant they were either going to take it for their own means, or they were who triggered it to begin with. She was fairly certain Lyanne had come to the same conclusion, considering how following her mace assault on the boy (coupled with...whatever the artifact had done to him) she shoved him away from the case, throwing herself in front of it in an obvious gesture to protect it.
“If any of you have done anything to this, there's hell to pay.” the lighter-haired woman growled, and for a brief moment Marielle was proud of her date. She was a little fanatical, sure, but her grim face was a right more attractive quality than the tense atmosphere she'd given off the whole time they'd traveled here. At least now she knew she could stand up for herself...it just took a priceless artifact to do it. “I suppose I should take this as a sign to not simply hand off my mace to someone.” As she spoke, she made a concentrated effort to sound regretful. It didn't work. Instead, she concentrated on moving slowly towards Lyanne, unafraid of her despite the display from moments before.

Something stirred in Yana as Alec moved over to the case. For a moment she felt her eyes glaze as he read the words. 'One must be open to one's destiny' Destiny... Something scratched in the back of her mind, something tapping at the door. Why did this sound so.... familiar?? I know this tablet.... I've seen it before... it has a life of it's own... Yana watched him open the case and felt incredibly uneasy about this. She was missing something. She knew she was missing something, some vital piece of information regarding that tablet. "Alec, are you sure--" He was walking towards her, about to hand the tablet to her, when light whipped out of case and attacked Alec, taking the tablet back and nearly impaling Alec. "Alec! No!"
Yana's scream was piercing, but what threw her off was a young woman running towards them in high heels. What the hell --- It took Yana two seconds to identify what was in her hand and she rolled out of the way, the extinguisher clunking with her as she sprayed Alec in the face with mace. Mace!! The pepper clogged her throat as she gasped for air and then took the fire extinguisher and aimed it at Lyanne. "What the hell are you doing?! Why are you attacking us?!"
'If any of you have done anything to this, there's hell to pay.' Yana swore in a growl of Russian as she stood up. She was bruised, tired, scared, and most of all, angry. "How dare you blame this on us! We've been running for our lives through this God forsaken museum and for what! To have humans attack us now!? My two friends are badly hurt from dinosaurs and fire, and now you! What the hell is wrong with you?!" She spotted Marielle and stood defensively in front of Alec's body, the fire extinguisher aimed like a weapon. If anyone got close enough to Yana, they would feel the heat rolling off of her skin. This tablet, this godforsaken piece of tablet, was the cause of all of this! She didn't dare look behind Lyanne to the case, but she was fairly panting from adrenalin and anger.
"We came up here to find the exit to the back stairwell, because the purple mist was starting to kill people downstairs. Alec said something was wrong, and he knew the way, so we followed him." Yana noticed a third person, a tall blond man, and immediately she aimed the fire extinguisher towards him too, partially bending her knees. She didn't know who to aim at, all three of them looked dangerous.
"Alec said that the tablet was important, and to protect it. I can see why too - everything and their mother has tried to stop us from surviving." Frankly, she just wanted to get out of here... but that tablet... She could feel it calling to her, and it made her all the more jittery. The tablet had caused all of this! Yana moved one of her hands off of the extinguisher and tossed her back pack to Nate. "The first aid's in there, use it on Alec Nate." She didn't look away from the other people though. Yana stayed in a defensive stance, her gaze moving from the three of them. They needed the tablet out of that case. Something was after it, and frankly, she was tired of being a puppet for whatever wanted it. "Are you here to try and kill us too?"

Nate was glad that Alec seemed to be alright. He was unsure of what they were supposed to do now that they were on the second floor of the museum; he had been following instructions the whole time. If anything, he just wanted to get out alive. He was still terrified for his life but was beginning to calm down now that they were in a quiet, brightly lit room away from all the monsters and vicious creatures that had it out for them. Even the velociraptors did not scare him as much anymore because they seemed to be aiding as opposed to attacking.
The dark haired man looked at the artifact in front of them. Although the strange symbols and letterings on the artifact looked like scribbles to him, to Alec, it seemed to be something readable and understandable. Nate listened to Alec read aloud what was written on the tablet but the writings still made no sense to Nate even when read aloud in English. It sounded like an ancient prophecy. Usually he could have passed it off as some stupid conspiracy or hoax like the apocalypse predicted by the Mayan calendar. But after the events that occurred today, Nate was no longer sure what to believe.
What happened next, occurred so quickly that Nate was stunned and did not know how to react. Right before Alec was about to hand the tablet to Yana, bright lights shot out of the tablet and moved the artifact back into its glass case. That is to say, the tablet moved itself back into the case before shooting another beam of bright light at Alec. Nate watched in horror as the laser like light pierced Alec’s body. Even worse, a woman came up to them and sprayed Alec in the face with mace.
Nate paid less attention to the stone tablet now that the other three people had walked up the stairs as well. Apparently they were the same people that they had spotted in the ocean room. Everything that had just happened over the span of a few seconds did nothing but confuse Nate greatly. This was not the time for his brain to be pausing but that’s what it needed to do as it processed everything that just happened. All he knew now was that he no longer cared for the tablet. Apparently the other people were their enemy now.
Thankfully, while Nate was confused, Yana still had enough sanity to take control of the situation. He caught the backpack Yana threw at him and rummaged through it until he found the first aid kit. Taking the gauze from inside white box, Nate quickly applied it to Alec’s open wound and put pressure on it to keep it from bleeding. So I guess reaching the second floor doesn’t mean it’s safe, Nate thought grimly.

As Viktor ascended up the stairs, he took notice of the two women quickening their pace up the staircase, quickly disappearing from his site once they reached the very top of the stairs. Not one to be left behind, he ran faster until he reached the top and ran right after him. Just as he was finally catching up to them, he stood stock still when he saw that the artifact sudden let out a burst of light and stabbed a male that had attempted to pull it out of the case. It took him a moment to see that one of his female companions had also took no mercy on the poor guy and began to spray him.
Shocked at this scene before him, he shook his head to rid himself of his stupor before taking a few steps closer until he was behind the two females who had been in his group. As he did so, he heard a feminine voice lash out at them. Imagine his surprise when he saw that it was his little Nana standing up for herself and acting as the protector of the other two. For a moment, he felt absolutely proud of her for fearlessly trying to defend her comrades until worry and fear settled in. According to what she was saying, they had gone through their own little hell just to get to the second floor. Despite the fact that she was in one piece before him, he couldn't help but worry over how much she had to go through. She didn't seem too injured unlike her other two companions, but his protective side was rearing its ugly head out as he gave her an indifferent look to having a fire extinguisher being pointed at him.
It was taking all his self-restraint not to just reach out and take his little sister away from all this insanity, but he had other things to do first. Besides, she didn't seem to recognize him anyways...
"We are not here to kill you... We are simply trying to get to the bottom of all this craziness. We have not had the easiest time getting here either," he breathed out calmly, securing his gun in his holster as he tried to be physically indifferent as possible. "I apologize for having hurt your companion, Ya- Miss. He is not hurt too badly, is he?" He felt like cursing at himself for nearly calling her by her name, mentally smacking himself for nearly slipping up.
So what did he do instead of talking some more and making himself look like a complete moron? The blonde Russian male decided to settle his gaze on the tablet, taking a step closer to it. So this is what is causing all this trouble... Just like Gia was part of the reason for that craziness at that concert, he mentally noted, feeling odd about this artifact. They needed to destroy it now, right? But why did he feel the need to not do so now?

The tablet will be broken into three pieces, it has also been determined that each piece will go to a different character (done by random draw) Marielle, Viktor and Alec. To add, each piece will have a different effect added to it. Each character will get an update to their profile with these effects after the event. Be warn, with the tablet broken it's powers can no longer be contain or controlled.

They had went to look for any other ticks that could have been left by the tablet, or Fate. They were doing as they were told, guide, push, force the humans to the second floor. Get them to the Tablet and then Destiny would handle the rest, that was the deal. Alpha had lead his brothers through the whole second floor, and then made hast to return to the room with the tablet inside it. There they saw one of their humans down on the floor, this was not right, things should already be done, the tablet should be broken by now.
Alpha, for once losing any levelheadedness he had charged into the room and leaped towards Marielle. His claws and jaws extended to rip into flesh and kill the group controlled by fate. Omega and Beta followed, but did not attack right away. They needed orders, needed a sign from their older brother they they too were allowed to hunt such pray. Instead they took to moving towards Viktor, each from a different side.

Everything seemed to be happening in slow motion now. Just as he picked up the tablet, he was attacked by tendrils of a bright light, impaling him and sending him stumbling back against the nearby wall. In mid-stumble, though, a psychotic woman ran up to him and maced him in the face. Now, with tears running down his face, a silent void filled the air. Not sure whether he would live or not, Alec spent the time leaning against the wall trying to focus on the positives. That would exclude being nearly stabbed to death, almost getting eaten by dinosaurs, being attacked by prehistoric animals, and having that god-awful mace in his eyes.
For a moment, everything hurt in his eyes, but at the same time his body kicked into overdrive. The pain he would have normally felt from a near-fatal wound was lessened by the body's miraculous ability to prevent some of the pain signals from travelling effectively throughout the body, keeping him alert and allowing his survival instincts to kick in. Unbeknownst to him, his body was telling him to get up and get to safety, but all he could concentrate on right now was to keep the bleeding down. He could hear a young voice, probably Yana, defending him and talking about their struggle to get there. Seconds later, he could feel a pair of hands around him, shirt lifted up and something applied to his warm body. By now, his vision was starting to clear up and he could see things a bit better. "Thank you, Yana. Nate. For everything." That was all he could manage to muster up, feeling his energy sapping away slowly.
Before anyone else spoke again, Alec took note of the blonde man with them. He looked familiar, but when he spoke, shivers were sent down Alec's spine. Even while fatigued, he couldn't possibly forget that face - it was the same one that commanded the monster to leave. The teenager didn't know whether to be scared of the man or if he should have thanked him, but when he began to speak, he could only hear kind words.
With an impatient response, he spat a bit of blood beside him and looked up at the man miserably. "Hurt...too badly? I'm trying not to bleed to death here... Oh, and weren't you ...at the ...Anaheim Convention Center? I saw ...what you did...So this all ...doesn't seem too... unfamiliar... to me. You know... this ridiclousness. So tell me ... are you friend ...or enemy?" It took a while to say that, through short and shallow breaths, but he managed to squeak it out loud enough for all in the room to hear. Quite frankly, he was a bit pissed at the man's comment. He knew deep down that he meant well (or at least that was what he thought), but at this point he was trying his best not to bleed to death, so his attitude might have been a bit pointed. As for the other two women, he saw them but decided not to acknowledge them. He didn't know which one attacked him, but he knew it had to be one of the two.
What came next was a giant surprise. The raptors that were previously following them made their way up the stairs and looked around, as if waiting for something to happen. Alec's eyes connected with the leader, showing the sadness in his eyes that he felt from possibly failing whatever it was he thought he should have done. Then, without warning, the raptor leapt toward one of the women, which meant that they in fact were on his side. Yana was still standing guard and Nate was still bandaging him and trying to keep pressure so that he wouldn't bleed to death. He had to be sure to keep in contact with these two - they were definitely going to be friends. Besides, someone had to take him to the hospital when all of this was over with, right?

Words: 739 Notes: I left it kinda hanging...oh well. By the time Marielle had made it to her date's side and carefully placed a hand on the other woman's arm, there was an outburst from the direction of the others, and she wisely moved to stand between the young woman who was shouting at them and Lyanne, though the latter didn't seem like she was prone to any other outbursts at the moment, luckily. She waited patiently for the tirade to pass, and when it did, she raised her free hand in a placating gesture – the outburst actually eased her tension some. It seemed genuine, stressed – which meant it likely was not a lie. These people weren't the cause of the problem, and hopefully, had their own good reason for running from them when they first spotted them. She wasn't fool enough to trust them implicitly – the taser was still settled neatly in her other hand, after all – but it eased her worries a fair bit.
At being questioned if they were going to try and kill them, her lips quirked upwards for a brief moment, almost amused. “With a bottle of mace and a taser? I doubt it sweetheart. But you can't blame us for being suspicious. You ran when you saw us – I suspect Lyanne, like myself, thought you may be the ones who caused all this.” she responded, her tone careful and level, just barely laced with some understanding. She paused, glanced at her date, before adding “Well, that, and I'm pretty sure if anyone does anything to harm that object she may turn into a black widow and eat them, if what she's told me and that display is genuine.”
With those words the resolve coming from the woman whom the nurse spoke about cracked slightly, and she glanced between the members of the other group. Her arms were lowered and she held the bottle of mace out to Marielle, who took it as Lyanne spoke again “I...I'm sorry I just...I work here and the whole place is being torn apart and I'd hoped it wasn't this but when I came in here and saw someone holding I thought...I don't know, I just want it all fixed.” Th darker haired woman sympathetically patted her date on the arm after she spoke, before turning to the others again. “See? We came up here trying to figure out how to fix this, as well.”
Before there could be a proper response, however, the ethereal figures of three velociraptors (suddenly, Marielle decided the tigers weren't such a bad thing, and wanted them back) decided to make their appearance, and suddenly the taser in her hand felt as reassuring as tissue paper. No, think, breathe, they still have nervous systems, you can technically- but the thought wasn't able to be completed as one of them launched at her, and she started to move as soon as she saw it – but she wasn't going to be fast enough. She knew it. Her face turned grim as she braced herself for the pain, but instead of being met with teeth on her flesh, she was suddenly and violently shoved out of the way. She abruptly met the floor, managing to just barely catch herself, her hands screaming as the full force of her weight hit them. That, however, was not where her attention was.
Above her there was a terrible, squelching scream, and before she could even turn she knew it was Lyanne. Who had pushed her out of the way. Her only logical thought was why, as she instinctively pushed herself up enough to hurriedly scoot away, horrified to feel a warmth on her legs before she could get far enough. When she was finally able to turn, her fears were confirmed – the other woman's shoulder and neck were clamped firmly in the raptor's jaws, and a profuse amount of blood was flowing from the entire area. The sheer amount of the liquid told Marielle that unless an ambulance was waiting just outside the damn door, the other woman had almost no chance. Sometimes...she hated her medical degree. Hated to be able to calculate just how many minutes someone had before they bled out.
What was worse is she hated the fact that she couldn't stop it, and it left her frozen on the floor, moth agape as she stared helplessly for a brief moment. 'You idiot. Why did you do that.'
