Yana didn't like how this was starting to turn out. Mari moved closer to her date and calmly took the mace away from her. Viktor was calm too. So calm, in fact, that she had to turn and look at him. As he moved into the light from the glowing case, she frowned a little and lowered the fire extinguisher. He looked so... familiar.... and when he talked, she swore she could have heard it before. What really tipped her off though was when Viktor nearly said her name. --hurt your companion, Ya-Miss. Yana, he was going to say Yana. He knew her name. No one just randomly said Ya in front of things unless they were a surfer or Scandanavian. Viktor spoke too good to be either.
Yana watched him like a small hawk as he inched over to the tablet and asked about Alec. She looked over her shoulder at Alec and Nate on the floor with worry. He was still breathing, and Nate was patching him up now. "I don't know..." Alec was struggling to talk and Yana moved to the side as Mari disarmed her friend. The raptors remade their appearance, and started letting out a couple of solid clicks towards each other before ferreting out. The big raptor clicked and then bumrushed Marielle and her date. "Oh shit. Raptors! No! Don't!" Yana screamed, but it was too late.
From where she was she saw Marielle be pushed out of the way and hit the floor, and the other woman who had maced Alec take the blow. Yana's mouth dropped in horrified shock as she stared. Blood started to pool under her, and Yana's whole body convulsed in a hard shudder as she felt the world spin and she looked at the floor. Her breath came out heavy and quick, eyes dilating as she felt her stomach roll. To her credit, she kept it in, but her legs were shaky. This was not supposed to happen. The raptors must have chosen their side to live, and would kill the other side.
Yana looked up to see the other two were going for Viktor, and something just snapped. You had to be open to one's Destiny, right? "Break the tablet!" Yana screamed across the foyer as she felt her legs straighten under her and she started forward. "Break the tablet! It's what they want, they'll stop once it's broken! Everything will be as it was once it's broken!" Yana was running now, and she ran towards the raptor she had ridden on at full speed. She pulled the pin on her fire extinguisher and ran in front of Viktor, spraying Beta full on in the face with a yell. "Back! Get BACK! Don't kill them!!" It was already too late for the one woman, she couldn't let something else happen to these other people.

Viktor Krupin knew when it was time to be serious, but dear lord, the small jab the shorter woman threw at the other made him want to crack up. Why? He didn't know; he would just blame it on temporary insanity. Because when you have to deal with two crazy abnormal situations within a month, you can only think that perhaps you truly have gone insane. Because honestly, what sane normal person has this sort of crap happen to them?
Shoving his small mental breakdown to the side, the Russian's hazel green gaze tore away from the tablet back to the dark-haired male on the ground. He was obviously having difficulty doing anything right now by the way he was talking. Perhaps it was just best that th- Wait, had he just mentioned the Anaheim Convention Center? His blood ran cold for a second, nerves on edge as he tried his damnedest to cling onto his poker face. So he saw me with that monster the last time, he noted, panicking on the inside as he took a breath to relax himself. "I am your fri-"
Too bad those velociraptors attacked just then.
While one of them had gone and killed one of his companions, there were now two coming after him. Letting his instincts drive him for a moment, he pulled out his gun and was just about ready to shoot the damned things when his little Nana stood there trying to protect him. He froze for a moment, unable to pull the trigger and attempt to kill the reptiles in front of his sister. It wasn't like she knew who he was, so what did it matter if he killed the creatures in front of her? But although he kept trying to let that thought circulate in his head, he still couldn't shoot them. Well, not yet anyways.
So what did he do instead? He let out a warning shot, aiming his gun at a blank spot on the wall. Viktor would not [/b] let the velociraptors intimidate him... much. Turning towards the tablet once again, he ran towards with every intention of breaking the thing just as his sister suggested a moment ago. Now the question was how exactly was he supposed to break it? Well, I suppose I can always just try smashing it against a wall, right? he guessed, grabbing the artifact once he reached it. However, he couldn't bring himself to smash it; it was like he wanted to keep it safe. But what good would it do for them when the damn thing was causing so much hell? Besides, most objects lose their power if they're broken, right? What made this any different? But he couldn't do it and he didn't even know why. Growing frustrated with the feeling, he simply threw it on the ground with as much force as he could muster, silently praying that it would at least crack from hitting the floor. The tablet was picked up. The tablet was thrown. Although one might've expected it to break instantly it did not. The only visible signs that it had been thrown on the ground (rather hard) was that it was starting to crack. | [cs=3][atrb=style,width: 460px; text-align: center; padding-left: 20px; padding-right: 20px;]
ILLUSION ELEMENTAL | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
Her power was diminishing. She could feel that much. For once, Fate was not backing her up. Had she really been abandoned like all those others monsters? And she thought she had been special... Very well. She'd deal with it on her own. And she had planned to stay at bay until this whole debacle came to a close. She couldn't remain hiding forever though, what would the other elementals think of her? What could she manipulate now? Though she very much did want to see her handsome blond, she was afraid that there were other things to worry about. While they were all concerned about the tablet, the Illusion Elemental wondered about what hell she would unleash towards the other people.
Fate was such a bitch, sometimes. Leaving her to be like this. She looked around at her surroundings, still slinking about the shadows and trying to make herself unseen (though she was now dedicating her power towards making illusions instead of covering her tracks, which proved difficult). There was nothing to work with, nothing in this room that could prove useful to enhance into something scary. While creation was fun and all, it would never prove to be as effective as using something already there and making it appear as something it was not.
Well, she supposed she could make something out of the wiggling sharks that were helplessly hanging onto a string there. She couldn't do anything about the actual sharks (those poor things), but she could... completely wipe them out of the six people's heads that the actual shark was there and... pretend there was a shark on the floor with legs and sharp teeth and blood in it's mouth (blood in it's mouth? How vulgar). Making it's way towards the group of people.
Ah, hopefully no one saw her though, that would be disastrous. She couldn't be so careless. | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 500px; height: 35px;] |

Nate was not a doctor by any means. Most of the first aid training that he had came from the times he recieved scrapes as a child and even then it was mostly common knowledge. Nate had no idea how bad the wound was, all he knew was that there was a lot of blood and that he needed to stop the bleeding if Alec had any chance of survivial. Okay so place pressure on the wound, then bandage it... Frustration was beginning to take over and Nate had to fight to keep calm. Now was definitely not the time to panic.
"I don't think you should talk," Nate said to Alec, though not in a mean spirited voice. If anything, he was more concerned that his attempts to talk might do something to make his wound worse. So he knew one of these people? And form last time? Nate could recall the few times that Alec mentioned going through one of these events in the past. Unfortunately he did not know many of the details. However, from what he could tell, it was an absolutely horrifying experience and one that was similar to this. Did the blonde man have some sort of connection to the strange instances?
Nate did not have time to think about that because one moment they were beginning to speak amicably in the tense situation. In the next moment, one of the velociraptors suddenly turned aggressive and attacked the women form the other group. Nate could understand that the Velociraptors were most likely still protecting their group by attacking the people that hurt Alec, but what he saw next horrified him. One of the velociraptors lunged forward and tore into the woman that had sprayed Alec with the pepper spray. It was at that moment that Nate realized just how dangerous the dinosaurs were. He had grown too comfortable with them ever since they started escorting them. Nate's mind screamed for him to run, but where and how?
Nate looked around the room when he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. In a corner of the room it looked like there was a woman which was strange because she clearly was not there before. Nate shook his head a few times and blinked but the woman was still there. If anything, the longer he stared, the clearer she became. Something about her seemed incredibly off to Nate and he had a feeling that he needed to do something. But first, he needed to make sure Alec was alright.
"Are you okay? Can you sit up in your own?" If Alec was fine then he could get up and investigate. Nate hoped that investigating would not kill him though.

Words: 649 Notes: Mari smash She knew there was nothing she could do at this point. Not for Lyanne, anyway – she had a couples minutes, at most. Nurse or not her only chance would have been if this happened on the doorstep of a hospital...first aid wouldn't cut it. She knew this, quite clearly in the back of her mind, even as she was frozen for a split second as she stared, mouth agape, at the scene. She may have been a little frustrated at the woman for some of her actions today but that didn't stop the flash of intense distress of knowing she lost someone on her watch. Her watch, goddammit, she didn't let that shit happen.
There was a brief few moments as all the commotion around her was muted, and she didn't even fully comprehend what was being said or done by the others. She didn't care, really – her eyes were fixed on Lyanne as she struggled for a brief moment to attempt to free herself from the jaws at her throat, before falling unnervingly still. She was finally snapped out of the daze when there was a loud crack as something hit the ground near her, and her dark eyes immediately fixed on that, relieved to be able to focus on something, anything but Lyanne. It was that tablet – that thing that was responsible for everything. Before, she may have doubted it – but the moment she walked in this room and saw how it reacted to that kid picking it up...as insane as it was, that was what all this today was about. All of it, everything.
Just like that the shock was slowly layered over with a seething rage, and her hand shot out, grabbing the tablet before anyone else could even try. She had no fear of it, despite what it had done to someone else – let it try to slow her down, she dared it. It'd just fuel her onwards. Her hand clasped around the edge and she yanked it towards herself, intending to stand but was momentarily distracted by something...something that seemed incredibly odd. She paused in her desperate movements, eyebrows drawn down as she stared at the face of her ire. 'Why can I read it?'
Typically these silly 'ancient artifact' things were completely undecipherable languages of untold age, and yet she could read every word, clear as day. They reached out and attached in her mind, demanding her attention and memory, and some part of her told her she needed to write them down as soon as she had a moment to breathe. A message to those who seek the power of the room. With this tablet the room will yield, and allow the keeper to enter. Once the crystal tablet is within the room, it will grant life anew to the guardian heart. If removed this tablet will only serve as a key to chaos. It made absolutely no sense, and there was a very brief war in her head wondering if breaking it was such a good idea.
'Don't care. I lost a pair of shoes, a date, and half my sanity. Fuck this.' With that, she heaved herself to her feet, and with a dark vengeance in her eyes she gripped the tablet with two hands and stepped towards the raptor that had been the cause of a loss on her watch. When he was within arm's reach, she lifted the heavy tablet over her head, and brought it down with a snarl and as much physical force she could muster – right on its damn skull. She may have looked small but that was still a considerable amount of force. All the rage that had managed to coil in her since Lyanne ha been attacked was thrown into the movement – in fact, she was fairly sure she pulled a muscle in her arm.

Already cracked the tablet lost control of all the creatures it had brought to life on the first floor. Just when things couldn't get worse the tablet was taken by new hands and brought over to one of the Velociraptor's. The person that took the tablet was angry, her anger fueled her power as she took the tablet and smashed it over the head of Alpha. The tablet cracked more and then split into three pieces. One piece stayed in Marielle's hand, the other two flew in two different directions, one towards Viktor and one to Alec. When picked up by each human the Tablet reacted with one last defense and imprinted itself on each human. Marking the left hand of each person, a tattoo like marking of unknown runes that were each colored and shaped differently. Foam in face Beta panicked and took countless steps backwards. He shook his head wildly trying to get away from the foam, Yana, everyone. He cried, calling to his siblings for help. Omega watched as his older brother was scared off by Yana, but why? They had helped this human, shouldn't she be helping them? The raptor was confused, but there was something driving him, he needed to kill Viktor. Even with the warning shots ringing in his ears he couldn't help but jump at Viktor. Jaws aiming at the man's stomach.
Alpha had been angry, he had lost all the knowledge Destiny had shared with him. All he could listen to was his instinct and it screams for him to kill the enemy. He had attacked the tall black haired women, but had missed his mark and ended up surrounding his jaws around a different human. If the weight of his body wasn't enough to cause damage with just the force of his landing, the fangs digging into skin would really do a number. He felt nothing but a slight pressure as Marielle cracked the Tablet over his head. Rows of fangs ripped into flesh like a knife through butter. He could taste the blood as the bubbly liquid slid to the back of his throat. Wait taste? Alpha never remembered being able to taste anything since he awoke. The raptor took pause and lifted his head to look away from his kill. That was when he noticed his brothers, they were no longer glowing ghost like dinosaurs. They were finally made solid, bones, skin, they were alive.
At first joy filling Alpha's mind, this was what they wanted, this was what Destiny had promised them. A new life, new chances, and the best of it all was that he got to live again with his brothers, or so he thought. Remember when Alpha had been stabbed in the chest by Alec? There had been no blood, just a hole and nothing more, but now he was alive and the wound was still there. Alpha felt it, blood was flowing from his chest and it was hard to breath. His lungs, it was his lungs, he couldn't take enough breaths to fill them.
Alpha stepped away from Lyanne's dying form and moved towards his brothers, but after only three steps he just couldn't take anymore. He fell to the ground, close to Alec, his yellow eyes looked at the man. Funny how this one human, who was now bleeding just like him, wold have been the one to be his downfall. Alpha did not hate him, he only felt sorry, sorry that he could not lead his brothers to a better life. He had only minutes left, but he couldn't call to them, not even a click or a cry. Nothing, his brothers were in danger and as the leader he could do nothing but lay and slowly die.

Smiling, Alec was feeling very lucky right now. Not lucky because of the hole in his chest but rather lucky for having met two people that were so kind-hearted and caring. Nate quickly shut Alec up, but it was only for concern - someone was going to have to do it. He closed his mouth and just smiled back at Nathan before speaking once more.
"Thank you. And tell Yana thanks too." For now, his eyelids began feeling heavier and heavier. He could tell that the warm sensation of blood was finally slowing down, but it was also causing great fatigue. The only thing he could recall about receiving a near-fatal wound was that it was always better to fight to stay awake. Now, he could tell that he would likely lose the battle soon. All the adrenaline...every ounce of excess energy threatened to leave his very being for a stronger one. But that would be alright.
"Go ahead. I'll be okay." Truth be told - he couldn't really move. To prove himself, he raised a little and manage to prop his head against the wall. Nathaniel was kind of cute...wait, that was a bit odd. He knew Yana was pretty and that didn't bother him, but...Nate? He honestly wasn't sure where that thought came from. Blood loss could apparently make someone delusional. As could losing a loved one, as seen by the crazy woman who sprinted over to get the tablet and sent it downward, crashing into the skull of a raptor. His vision was beginning to get hazy but he could still make out what was going on. At this point not much shocked him.
Some other things happened and before he knew it, Alec saw a piece of the tablet shoot straight toward him. His eyes widened in fear before realizing that it wasn't out to finish him off. Instead, it fell just below his right hand. Hesitant but curious, he reached out with what bit of energy he could and latched onto it, feeling an odd sensation wash over his body. On his left hand he now had a purple-ish tribal looking tattoo. It wasn't painful nor did he feel anything threatening from this, but he stared in wonder for a moment. He wasn't sure what to think or do...but he wanted to keep his piece of the tablet. While he might have still feared it, he sensed that it would no longer try and kill him. After all, Psycho managed to pick it up and use it just fine. Curiosity ate away at him, pleading to discover it's secrets.
But that would have to wait. His vision was blurring again a bit more and he could feel himself slipping away slowly. One of the velociraptors fell just short of his thigh, allowing Alec to reach out to him. He looked so helpless, almost as if he were sad...The teenager felt scales, which meant that somehow it managed to get its form back. But it seemed so weak. He couldn't tell what was wrong with it, but he felt an overwhelming sense of emotion wash over him. Tears began to trickle down his eyes as he slowly rubbed the dinosaur. Something told him that he wouldn't live much longer, so Alec spent the next few seconds gently talking to him, speaking words of comfort and peace. In some odd way, though, he was also trying to comfort himself. He was ready to let go, too, and just let it all end. But damnit he was too stubborn to do that! He would just slip away slowly, allowing sleep to overtake him with his hand oustretched on the dinosaur's snout.

The more Yana looked at Viktor, the more she began to realize that this could possibly be who she thought it was. Only one way to find out....
As she foamed the dinosaur with the extinguisher, the handle and container in her hands grew hotter and hotter. It was beginning to crack as the pressure inside of it became too much to bear with the heat pouring off of her hands. She had held it for too long, with too much stress, and the metal in her hand glowed red hot. The foam she sprayed was hot foam, and she felt awful for the velociraptor in front of her. Beta had carried her to safety, but now she had to defend the humans they were so desperately trying to kill.
Yana felt something hot wash down the side of her cheeks where the tears started to stream. Dirty, bloody, and tired, she wasn't expecting what happened next. Beta back away into the shadows, but he was no longer glowing - neither was Alpha. The tablet broke, and the lead raptor fell to the ground, bleeding. Alec and Nate were somewhere over in the corner, and then... the extinguisher exploded.
Yana fell back onto the floor towards Alpha as the extinguisher and the foam went everywhere. The handle flew up and embedded itself into a shark, burning the now fake body of the creature on the ceiling. The bottom of the extinguisher skidded across the floor and slid against another exhibit. Yana slid across the floor a few paces and she sat up and wiped the foam from her face, only to see the second raptor go after Viktor. "Vanya! Shoot it!"

The tablet broken, people marked, and the chaos was over. Out of the three raptors only one would be spared. Beta would was only luckily because of the young women that had been brave enough to get in his way. After being attacked he had backed away to a corner of the room, calling out to his brothers, wanting to leave this horrid place. Beta watched as his brother Alpha died of blood loss near a injured young man. He was shocked by the loud pop which rang in the air, and then the well known smell of blood. He watched as Omega just dropped to the ground, no sound was made as the raptor did not even have time for his last breath. The Bullet pierced his heart and he was dead in seconds. Beta, full with fear of seeing both his brothers died turned away from the humans and bolted out of the second story window, down, slamming into a car and off into a long alleyway.
The raptors were taken care of, the table pieces picked up and the sounds of alive animals quieted. Finally the humans still left alive could pick up from where they left off. Most would choose to leave, others would stay and talk. Some were smart to call an ambulance and the police while others were speechless. Most of the event would be covered up by the media, lying about hallucinations and terrorist activity. The only people that knew the real truth were all those who made it to the second floor, but how much would they be willing to say before they would be written off as crazy or needing time to rest.
The Illusion Elemental was spotted after the raptors were taken care of, noticing that her powers were weakening she turned to leave. Of course things were not always so easy and when she was about to leave for good she was bumped into by the one escaping raptor. A small object fell to the floor and rolled towards the body of the dead women. Strangely enough Marielle would be the person to find the item and take it home. | [cs=3][atrb=style,width: 460px; text-align: center; padding-left: 20px; padding-right: 20px;]

What you will find out is that the Museum has recently came into their possession a new artifact, a stone tablet that can be found somewhere on the second floor. You will also be the only one that can read the strange language on the tablet, but first you will have to live long enough to get to it. The tablet reads A message to those who seek the power of the room. With this tablet the room will yield, and allow the keeper to enter. Once the crystal tablet is within the room it will grant life anew to the guardian heart. If removed this table will only serve as a key to chaos. Your path to the second floor will be to the left of the building, you will have to travel though the mammals hall and human origins, then through the ocean hall which will have the only unblocked staircase." OutcomeMarielle did well to find help from her date who was lucky enough to have an idea of what was going on and was willing to share her thoughts with Marielle. Marielle was correct to not trust everyone at first and did well to bid her time before she shared what she knew with her group. Marielle did well to guide her group to the second floor and completed her task of reading the Tablet. Dani receives 4 residue Number 2 -Alec"Team Leader: You have been chosen to lead your group to the second floor. This reason will be up to you, but you will be drawn not only to the second floor but to an object that is housed there. After climbing the steps to the next floor you will see a crystallized case sitting upon a large desk. On the case it will read in an unknown language, you can barely make out most of it, though you are not sure how. The oath of the protectors....protect both room and sources of power, so the kingdoms may find peace once more... To open, one must be open to one's destiny. Take that deep breath, and decided, will you open the case? and if so you must choose, will you grab the tablet or leave it?. You can only read the case, the wording on the tablet is unknown to you. Your path from the start will be headed to the right, you must head through the dinosaurs, find your way to the ice age exhibit and then around to the ocean hall, which will have the only open staircase." OutcomeAlec lead his team alive though the museum but at what cost? The boy was frantic and took risk that cause injury not only to himself but to his teammates. Alec made sure that he was the first to the case, reading it and even making a risky grab for the tablet. Sadly, like most of the others Alec was not the one destined to take a hold of the tablet. Instead he was only meant to open the case and nothing more, another outcome to his recklessness. Mike receives 3 residue. Number 3 -Emil Victor"Protector: Lucky lucky you, Fate has a plan for you. Your task is simple, stay alive, make it to the second floor and when the artifact is freed from the case that protects it take it. You will be convinced (even if this is out of character, Fate will be directly influencing and amplifying this feeling. Your mind will feel like you are in a haze, good luck.) to protect the artifact and keep it away from everyone else. No matter what you just do not want the artifact harmed. Your battle rank has been lowered by -.10 due to unnatural influence. Your path to the second floor will be to the left of the building, you will have to travel though the mammals hall and human origins, then through the ocean hall which will have the only unblocked staircase. Your team leader will know the way, you are not the team leader." OutcomeEmil was left with the blood thirsty tigers and his task was passed on to Victor. Victor did not keep the tablet from breaking, thus failing at his main task of protecting the tablet. Ellie receives 1 residue. Number 4 -Victor"You have no task, you are only meant to survive. You will have no real trouble or meaning till the second floor. Make it to the second floor and then your task will begin, we wish you luck. Your battle rank has be raised by +.25 but only when Fate/Destiny states so in a post. Your path to the second floor will be to the left of the building, you will have to travel though the mammals hall and human origins, then through the ocean hall which will have the only unblocked staircase. Your team leader will know the way, you are not the team leader." OutcomeVictor made it safely to the second floor where his task was shown in the form of three deadly raptors. Victor was able to kill one of these creatures while a second escaped and another died not because of victor but because of Alec. Ellie receives 2 residue. Number 5 -Yana"Destroyer: You have be chosen by destiny, your task is simple, stay alive, make it to the second floor and when the artifact is freed from the case that protects it, take it. You will be convinced (even if this is out of character, Destiny will be directly amplifying this feeling.) to destroy the artifact at all cost, you feel that breaking it will stop the madness. Your battle rank has been lowered by -.10 due to unnatural influence. Your path from the start will be headed to the right, you must head through the dinosaurs, find your way to the ice age exhibit and then around to the ocean hall, which will have the only open staircase. Your team leader will know the way, you are not the team leader." OutcomeYana did make it to the second floor with her team, of course Team Destiny came out with a few injures but alive nonetheless. Still Yana's task was only half fulfilled, yes the tablet was broken but Yana had not been the one to break it, even better yet no one from her team was the breaker. She did however get claimed and protected Victor from one of the raptors. Katie receives 2 residue. Number 6 -Nate"Your task does not start until you reach the second floor and the teams meet up once again. Your task is simple, find the weakness to Fate's elemental and stop it. Your battle rank has be raised by +.50. Tip: Follow the heart and the mind, think clearly and be creative. Your path from the start will be headed to the right, you must head through the dinosaurs, find your way to the ice age exhibit and then around to the ocean hall, which will have the only open staircase. Your team leader will know the way, you are not the team leader." OutcomeNate did not complete his task, but did win his roll vs the Elemental. Terresa receives 2 residue. | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 500px; height: 35px;] |
