At first she hadn’t noticed anything, the first week her week dying flowers were coming back to life, even blooming early. Valoel had thought that some strange luck was on her side, but a week later those same flowers started to give up. Plants and flowers died all the time, but for Val, who had an amazing green thumb. Things were just not making sense, they had good sun, lots of water, the best dirt. The young women was at a loss for what to do, her flowers were dying and there was nothing she could do about it.
Now Valoel was no where close to giving up, but today, at 6:00AM in the morning she was met with despair. Fluffy, as it was so lovingly names, did not want to eat. No matter when she tried to feed the meat eating plant it would not take the food. That was it, she had four hours before class to figure out what in the world to do about these dying plants. Her common flowers, the fruits and even her blue roses she was willing to part with, but Fluffy? She had been raising him for months and it only seemed right that she do everything in her power to keep him alive. Against her better judgement she decided to wake Marielle up, but first she would need a plan. If a person was smart they knew that Marielle was not a morning person, better yet she hated the morning time.
What would make things worse is that Valoel knew Marielle did not work until the noon hours today, so there was still a chance Marielle was still sleeping. First breakfast, the smell of food would do well to maybe stir both Marielle and Seven out of bed. So that was what she planned, first she walked over to marielle’s room and cracked the door, not bothering to look in to see if Mari or Seven was already awake.
Then she went to cooking, Valoel was no master in the kitchen, in fact half of her time there ended in disaster. Still thanks to her friends and Mari, Valoel learned to practice the same thing over and over, till the kitchen was safe from blowing up. Today would be no different, she knew what she was making, and as long as she took it easy, everything should be just fine. She flipped both the coffee maker and tea maker on, Val herself would be drinking tea, but since it was so early, she felt coffee might be a good idea of Marielle. Now all she had to wait for was the smell of food to reach Marielle’s room, and if that did not work she would bring the food to Marielle and go from there.

The past few weeks had been...trying at best. Ever since the museum incident she'd began to feel steadily worse, and she was unsure if it was a mental thing or not. She supposed it could be...the stress of a life-threatening situation and the death of someone you liked generally didn't have a positive effect on any human mind...but she wasn't a psychiatrist, she was your cut-and-dry 'hold still while I stick a needle in you' and 'do you need your next dose of painkillers' nurse, and she could only go based on knowledge she'd picked up informally as well as common sense...something she was sure she had a fair bit of, but 'waking up feeling like you got hit by a truck' only took one so far.
That wasn't even to mention the aftermath of the mansion party, which she'd apparently got out of just in time as soon as she found Val and the place literally disappeared just as they got into her car, and the follow up consolation prize, not including that disgusting mark on her shoulder, was dreams every night of confusion, combat, and death everywhere. She was debating if there was merit to at least making an appointment with a psychiatrist to see if she had repressed stress or depression, but she was unsure simply because...she didn't feel mentally burdened, just physically. Perhaps a bit more annoyed, but that also wasn't terribly out of place, all things considered.
When she woke up from yet another of the dreams - this one filled with voices and the background noises of a battle that were so loud she almost woke up with a headache yet she couldn't remember a word spoken, not remember what scenes accompanied them – the first thing she did was check on her dog, who's health had inexplicably been on and off for a while now. She'd taken him to the vet to no avail, and she was starting to become genuinely concerned. As so bent down and patted him gently on the head, she could tell by his lethargic reaction that it was another one of the bad days. She adopted a concerned expression as she gave him yet another check over, again with no progress into finding the real problem. She sighed, petted him again, and headed to the bathroom, feeling her frustration rise again.
There was about five minutes spent ensuring her her didn't look like it exploded while she slept due to all her tossing and turning from the dreams, before she headed out of her room. She was surprised to find the smell of food ooking, and there was a brief moment of confusion, followed by a small amount of panic as she realized Val. She quickened her pace down the hall, around the corner and into the main room of her house, where the kitchen was just to the left, where indeed, she found the blonde girl she housed there preparing breakfast, luckily without a fire accompanying the sight.
She paused, seeming to think a long moment what she wanted to say, before slowly moving across the rug to the counter, eyes narrowed at the girl. “Good...morning?” she tested, unsure, mildly terrified if she startled the girl there would, indeed, be a fire started.

Her plan of making breakfast without destroying the kitchen was going well. She had the pancakes already done and on plates, all she had left was the bacon and eggs. While bacon sizzled she started on the eggs, making them the only way she knew how, scrambled. When Marielle came over Valoel was able to see her in the corner of her eye before the woman even spoke. That had been a smart move, otherwise there was a chance eggs would be found all over the kitchen. Valoel looked at Marielle and smiled knowing she had to be careful of just how cheery should could be. ”Good morning, breakfast will be done soon, coffee is being made, I hope I haven’t woken you up.”
The last part had been a lie, and even though Valoel tried every time she lied her voice would get softer than the rest of her sentence. A automatic reaction that even Valoel had noticed, it was like she was incapable of lying. Friends, teachers or family, it did not matter Valoel just couldn’t help but always tell the truth. Even when she really tried to keep something quiet it always came out one way or another. She went back to paying attention to what she was doing, but then a thought came to mind. ”Wheres Seven? Normally he’s right behind you when ever you leave the room?” The worry was easily heard in her voice, she had noticed how just like Fluffy, Seven had been slowing down. Only after a long walk outside did the dog seem to pick back up some of his lost energy. If anything Valoel was more than willing to give him another nice long walk before school.

“No, I got up by myself.” she'd responded, deciding not to specify she'd been mostly woken up by her brain going 'enough of this bullshit dream'. She wasn't the share-y type anyway, so it worked out. She relaxed a little knowing her kitchen was...well, mostly safe now, so long as she was here now there was a far less chance of something terrible happening, since she could stop it before it began. However, as soon as Val asked about her dog, she stiffened again, expression flashing serious for a moment, before she attempted to cover up the less than favorable reaction, answering in a nonchalant tone.
“He's in my room. He doesn't seem to feel too good today again.” It had been an on and off thing for a bit now, and it concerned her because he wasn't an old dog, not even close, so 'unexplained crappy days' shouldn't really have been happening. 'Though I don't feel that hot myself' she thought grimly, reflecting on what she could remember of her dreams, coupled with the dull ache that seemed to spread from her lower back down her legs. It almost felt like she should have a pulled muscle somewhere, but she'd done nothing out of the ordinary to cause it. She ignored it, however, chalking it up to sleeping wrong, moving around the counter and to the cabinets, grabbing a cup and moving to stand and wait by the coffee maker. She definitely...wasn't what you'd consider a morning person, but coffee did help alleviate that, at least somewhat.
There was a moment where she was quiet, unwilling to talk, not wanting to deal with anything beyond short sentences and very limited conversation until she ate and had coffee, perhaps even showered and got ready for work, but the fact that Val was in her kitchen, cooking, was a point of deep curiosity. This sort of thing never happened – mainly because when Val asked, Marielle made sure she was supervising. She supposed she should have been more annoyed the girl could have potentially made an utter mess being unsupervised in the kitchen – well, she was a bit annoyed – but she had yet to destroy anything so she was managing to fight that off. But...still. “So uh, not to look a gift horse in the mouth by why are you up early to potentially set my kitchen on fire?”
