| | | INTERRUPTION
Destiny was always present in the world, even without the knowledge of the humans. It affected everything and anything within its grasp. At the moment, it was currently in the presence of a karaoke party, ebbing and flowing through the area. All kinds of people were attending this gathering, including a couple of youths that were clearly uninvited. As Destiny drifted past the karaoke building, some of it's residual power touched upon the party. More specifically, it affected the current singer in the middle of karaoke. The current performer was clearly drunk and as he hit the high note, Destiny's power affected his voice. His voice reverberatted through the speakers causing feedback and high pitched whining to echo throughout the room. The sound frightened the poor pigeons. Fleeing from their owner, they flew out the open door towards freedom. One unlucky bird in it's confusion hit the windshield of an oncoming cop car. As the police vehicle swerved to avoid the bird it crashed into the karaoke building allowing the dangerous criminal the police were transporting to get out. While the police struggled to get out of the wreck and regain control of the situation, the criminal was able to grab hold of a large knife from the buffet table. The criminal was like a caged animal and was desperate to escape to freedom but the two officers were still in his way. Destiny regarded the ongoing events and continued on. There was nothing here of interest for Destiny, it needed to keep moving. Here is your interruption from Destiny, do as you like as this is only a one post deal.

tagged: failtwin. time: May 8th 2012, 20:30 speech: hayden. notes: farts It sounded like a good idea to grab more food. Hayden nodded as Gabi spoke, finishing up the last piece of fried chicken on his plate. Mm, his favourite. "Sounds like a plan," he chirped, giving her a bright grin. One last round, and then they could go. Who would have thought that one of Gabi's silly ideas would have been that much fun this time? Come to think of it, he did have fun half the time when she tried to get him to do silly things. Much as her ideas were always a little crazy, he had to admit that she'd been the person to drag him out into the real world and teach him how to live. Hayden was about to start in that direction when he heard a loud, screeching sound.
The next chain of events completely threw Hayden's perception of reality out the door.
The first thing that he saw was the flying flock of pigeons. "Huh," he muttered to himself as the birds all darted out the door, and their owner ran after them frantically, yelling and screaming. Well, that hadn't been the weirdest thing to happen to them that day, so Hayden decided to ignore it. His attention was back at the food table in no time at all, and he trotted up towards it, taking another swig of his beer. Food was probably better than alcohol, if you asked him, though it would have been quite a touch choice between the two. He was just grabbing some more chicken wings from the counter when he heard a loud, crashing noise, and an even louder scream.
W- what just happened?
Slowly, rather dramatically, Hayden found himself spinning around. The sight before his eyes was one that he never imagined that he would bear witness to. Through the window he noticed that a car had crashed into the building. Not just any car, too. A police car. "Oh my gosh," Hayden whispered as he noticed a man burst out of the car towards the buffet table, grabbing a large knife and brandishing it in their direction. The brunette took a step back. Thick fingers grabbed hold of Gabi's wrist, and Hayden pulled her in the direction of a different window.
"Run!" he exclaimed, giving her hand one last tug before he started towards it. The police would be bursting through the front door at any point, so there was no way that he was going to be able to escape that way. And besides, he realized with a gulp, there were so many people here that were drinking underage. Hayden didn't know how he was going to answer to that-- he didn't want any trouble, and he'd been around Gabi enough to know trouble when he saw it. A few paces later, he was at the window. A booming voice resonated throughout the room:
"Nobody move!" a policeman exclaimed. Hayden gulped. This was his only chance to escape.
Goodbye, cruel world.
And with that, he pushed the window open, climbed upwards, and jumped.
It was like flying, flying for the few seconds that Hayden had left. He'd never imagined that it would be easy to do something like this, but he'd done it, and he'd have to live with the consequences. The last thing he knew was the sensation of pain rushing through his very being as his body crashed against the pavement, blood splattering over cement as he faded into complete oblivion--
Oops, just kidding.
Of course he didn't die. For one, he has to be alive to do the Dreamscape thread on May the 12th, and for another, the window was on the ground floor. Which meant that Hayden hadn't made any sort of giant leap at all, but he had quite clumsily stumbled onto the ground as he attempted to regain his footing. No time to lose, though. Turning back to make sure that Gabi was after him, he shot her a sideways glance.
"Run!"
He was never listening to Gabi ever again.

The next chain of events was the sort of thing Gabi could only dream of.
She winced at the high-pitched whine that filled the room, shooting a reproachful look at the current singer. Someone pull that guy off stage, before he made everyone's' ears bleed. The sound caused the pigeon dude's birds to fly away in a panic, and Gabi paused to watch as he took off running after them. "Aw, there goes his birds." She remarked, before shrugging to herself. Well, that's what you get for bringing your pets to a party like this. How did he even smuggle them in here, anyway? Life's greatest mystery, she supposed.
But really, the most important thing right now was the buffet table. Gabi cheerily followed behind her best friend, helping herself to the buffet table without another thought to spare for the pigeon man. His problem, not her's. Hopefully the birds hadn't crapped in the food-
A loud CRASH filled the air, accompanied by a piercing scream. With her mouth full of pasta, Gabi turned to face the racket, and promptly choked on her food at the sight. It wasn't exactly every day that a police cruiser busted through the wall. That wasn't even mentioning the convict that emerged from the wreckage; he made a beeline for the buffet table and grabbed a large knife, obviously willing to use it if he had to. Gabi managed to swallow down the pasta stuck in her throat, tears in her eyes, as Hayden grabbed her wrist.
This party just got ten times more interesting.
"Do you think I can get him to pose for a picture with me?" She asked Hayden with a light tone, even as she continued to pile her plate with more food. Hayden was much bigger and stronger than she was, and if he was tugging her along by the wrist, there was little chance she was going to break out of his death grip. So she'd just have to make do and grab as much as she could within her reach. What? She had her priorities straight, dammit! Food always came first, no matter what.
With her plate now piled high with food, Gabi followed Hayden to the window. She had her plate to think about, so she couldn't just jump out all willy-nilly. Instead, she carefully sat down on the ledge, plate firmly in hand, then scooted herself off and landed without a problem. "Hey, you're getting good at this!" She said, her voice all cheer as she followed after the tall boy. She was so proud of him! Making a speedy escape from a bad situation was usually her thing; to think, that had now rubbed off on her biffle was the best!
The brunette merely raised an eyebrow at the boy as she began chewing on a piece of fried chicken. Mmm, delicious. "Why run? We're already out." She shrugged lightly, then turned her attention back on her plate of food. Yup, she'd chalk this up to a success, kthnx.

tagged: failtwin. time: May 8th 2012, 20:30 speech: hayden. notes: farts How was Gabi still eating?
Hayden's jaw practically dropped open as he saw his best friend still chewing calmly, responding to his statement as though they had just been talking about the weather. Never mind the fact that they'd been engaged in a chase against someone who was obviously a criminal. Never mind the fact that they could have been caught for drinking underage. She was just standing there with the most serene expression on her face, snacking away. He should have guessed though-- this was his best friend they were talking about. Hayden glanced around nervously, noting that the cop cars were largely on the other side, and that the policemen's efforts were concentrated on trying to get the criminal out of the building. Nobody had seen them jump out.
Running away would just look suspicious. Hayden knotted his brow, biting his lip. He supposed that Gabi was right about this, this once. Maybe it was time for them to actually stay calm for once?
"I... I guess you're right," he sighed. With a small smile, he turned to her, stretching out a hand. He knew what he was going to say next, and was ridiculously excited about it. After all, he hadn't been able to speak these words to anyone for years. Gabi was the perfect person to say them to, because she was special. Their relationship was special. She, after all, was his best friend.
"Let's go home."
