May 13th, 4:10PM Stepping out of union station in deep thought, Korra was already making her way home. Her cloak like hoodie keeping her body covered properly, though she kept the hood back since it wasn't raining it was a peculiar look that very few shared. Though her twin tails were artistically fixed into place giving her a cute and innocent look, it was absolutely obliterated by the indifferent and disinterested expression she wore on her face. Devoid of the deep thoughts she was thinking and the troubles she was coming back from, it showed nothingness to a degree that was almost robotic in nature.
Even so though, Korra was still faintly troubled. Her materials guy was still trying to wriggle his way out of getting more from her for her raw materials she used to sculpt with, mentally complaining, it frustrated her to no end that he would continue to try and weasel his way into selling her inferior materials or increasing prices. Her scrap metal guy was still producing quality materials and offering them to her for a reasonable price, it bothered her that she couldn't procure stone and clay in such an easy way since it was her preferred medium. Even with all of her mental complaints though, in the end she was forced to accept it and argue with her supplier until he finally broke under the weight of her unchanging and unamused expression.
While she walked, it seemed fate wasn't completely against her though, reaching down to retrieve five dollars, she let out a monotonous murmur pleased that she could have some luck when things were so frustrating for her. Clutching the bill like it was her reward for putting up with irritating salesmen, Korra couldn't wait until she could find someone capable to hire to do her bargain hunting for her. She'd much rather be sculpting or crafting some kind of piece, or setting stones into place, or even mining rock and polishing ores from the earth for all she cared, as long as it didn't have anything to do with her having to argue with people or listen to them talking down to her because of her appearance and size.
Half distracted by the money, she found, she struggled under her hoodie to slip it into her tight short shorts, at times like that it was a pain to wear such revealing and tight clothing, but at the same time, it helped her feel the world around her easier when she worked, so she couldn't be too annoyed with it. It was a compromise she'd gotten used to long ago. By the time she did manage to fit the money into her pocket, she glanced back up in front of her exhaling sharply, her thoughts already transitioning from her luck into what to have for dinner.

the number one princess in the world you should know by now how to please me, okay? Leon was, in a word, a little lost. It seemed that he got lost fairly often, but Los Angeles was a big city, and it wasn't like he could help it. He was in... Downtown? Somewhere, at least. He couldn't really tell, and he didn't know any familiar landmarks. Not again, was all he could say. One would think, after being in this city for a fair amount of time, that he'd at least know some landmarks, but no. It was building after building after building. And he couldn't tell what building was what. It was probably time to ask someone for directions, but he wanted to look for someone that was friendly and bright, just like himself! It was probably a selfish reason on his part, but he wasn't particularly in the mood to get brushed off by someone right now.
Still, he probably didn't look positively bright right now in his own hoodie (although, in this sweltering weather, the hoodie was fairly thin and had the sleeves cut off, obviously for fashion rather than actual purpose). Although the hood was back and it was distinctively yellow and orange, his expression was so somber and down that if his hoodie were a flower, it'll have wilted by the sheer negative energy he was currently emitting. He couldn't believe it. Lost, again. But, of course, he wanted to be cheered up, and he tried putting a smile onto that face of his. Think of sunshine. Sunshine, and lions, and candy, and hair, and beauty... Oh, now he wanted candy.
He searched his pockets. No money. Figured, someone as rich as him forgot his money. Now he couldn't have candy and he was lost! Much grievance for the lack of candy, of course. Why today, of all days? Sure, he had nothing important to do, but he was lost. But mostly, he did not have candy.
So he looked around and his eyes settled on a random person. Only, it wasn't so random as it was strange. This person was weird. It was nearing summer, and the days were really hot. Hell, even his hoodie made him hot, but if he were accidentally identified by some obscure fan, he had to throw on the hood and some sunglasses and try to disguise his way out of that situation. There was nothing he could do about that. This woman, well, she was wearing a full on cloak. Who the hell wore that when it was so hot?! It wasn't all that cloudy, actually, contrary to most of the week. Why... why was she wearing something that looked so uncomfortable hot? She must be sweating, right? She had to be?
And of course, Leon's curiosity was piqued, and he couldn't well just leave it alone now that his attention was brought on it. "Hey. Hey you. Hey, why are you wearing that? Aren't you hot?"

Continuing on her way, Korra took step after step until someone began calling out. Her steps pausing only a moment as her eyes slid to Leon who was the source, she gave him a cursory glance in thought. It wasn't someone she recognized, no idea who it was. This caused her to glance around to others walking down the street, and surely she was the most oddly dressed, and her cloak like hoodie was probably the warmest thing anyone was wearing, but she didn't seem to understand still.
She took a few more steps before pausing once more, REALLY making sure that Leon was really meaning to try and get her attention before finally pausing and glancing his way once more. Her eyes hollow and blank, her expression absolutely indifferent and disinterested as if she wasn't real in some way. Not a bead of sweat on her forehead, feeling right as rain even under her hoodie in the warm weather. Of course, the reason she was warm because of how much skin she had bared underneath, the surface layer of the hoodie acting like a sun blocker shading her exposed skin more so then a hot blanket draped over her, she was practically wearing a trench coat over a swimsuit like some awkward flasher.
"No. Not really."
She answered bluntly, no deep explanation, no complicated anything. Like she was smashing him in the face with her answer, her words quick, to the point, and sharp, though absolutely monotonous they came out quick and precise when she wasn't telling an elaborate story or discussing some deep philosophy.
"You seem warmer then I do, even without the sleeves."
She added afterwards, just as blunt and to the point again. Bobbing her head a little, it was a forced nod that she couldn't get quite right to be a greeting before turning her attention forward again. Stoically continuing on, not even a flicker of a smile, or a flash of interest, no hint of curiosity or any kind of anything during the whole exchange, Korra's expression only changed just enough to facilitate her mouth forming words, even as she continued taking steps casually like a doll

the number one princess in the world you should know by now how to please me, okay? This was a horror movie. Had to be. Didn't horror movies always start with something odd and mysterious? Leon didn't watch horror movies, and this fact was pretty far off from a typical horror movie, or at least too vague. And it showed that he had no idea, because right now while he was thinking that this was a real life horror movie and he had screwed something up by calling out towards the cloaked figure (which was disturbing as of itself). He was doomed, he was going to be killed first, he should have pretended nothing was the matter and kept on going.
Leon may have had a little panic attack when the girl looked over at him with that face. It wasn't a scary face, not really, but Leon had mentally freaked himself out and it resulted in, well, him being pretty much on edge with any face that she put on. Vampire. This was a vampire, she was going to turn him, and oh god he was gonna be a bloodsucking monster! No, he was going to be pale! He'd rather die than sacrifice himself to that fate. Her soulless eyes seemed to be sucking his own soul out, and not a bead of sweat or any hint that she was hot with that cloak on. She must be a vampire for enduring such heat. It had to be at least 35 degrees (Celsius, of course, he was more used to that), no maybe even 40! And she looked younger than him, like she was not quite an adult. Did vampires really get turned that easily?
He temporarily forgot his worries for a moment when she talked. Leon quizzically looked at her, forgetting his irrational fear. "Why do you talk so funny?" Leon wasn't sure what the right word for it was, but he knew it was rude to say weird, so he tried to choose something less offensive. Funny was better, it was good to be funny. But little did he know it was probably offensive in that context. He was good at English, fluent even, but there were always some words he never remembered. "It doesn't seem right. It's so... weird" Aww! He had said it, but he couldn't figure out what else to say.
She talked again, and Leon still looked at her quizzically. He was hot, she was right, and he could not understand why she wasn't with that huge cloak thing. "But I'm wearing less than you! Unless... Unless..." What if... No, Leon slapped himself for thinking that. Bad him, bad. There was no way, absolutely no way. No way she was naked under that! "You dress really, really weirdly! Why do you dress so funny?" It was the same with her voice too.
Then she started walking away, and Leon wasn't having any of that, oh no. "Hey, don't just walk away! I'm still talking!" He said it as though he were a spoilt child, in a half-begging, half-demanding voice. "D-don't... Don't just ignore me!" He pouted a little, following after her. There was no way he was leaving this weirdo person girl alone.

Korra stopped once more when he called back out to her. Turning her head slowly, enough to be eerie, only turning her head to the side to see him while her body remained facing forward, her eyes sliding to the sides to look his way. She was silent, awkwardly so while he was worrying about his mistake, while he went back and forth in his head about using the word 'weird' Korra was trying to decipher exactly what was weird about her voice. This only lead to an awkward silence, with her head turned at such an awkward and extreme angle and her eyes sliding to the very corners of her face to look his way without turning her body and wasting that energy.
When she finally exhaled what was supposed to be a sigh, she pivoted one foot to turn not wanting to strain her neck. She couldn't think of anything, in the end she only cocked her head suddenly unsure of what exactly he was referring to, the eeriness in her actions only becoming worse as her hollow eyes just stared blankly at him while he fumbled through thoughts. Not an awkward chuckle, not even a frown at being called weird, not upset or even amused, as usual her expression just had nothingness before she finally came to the conclusion that it must be how monotonous she spoke.
"I'm not usually sociable. When I try to force myself to sound 'normal' it just sounds worse, so I've stopped trying to force it."
Korra said blankly wondering if that would answer his question, it was blunt, simple and sweet though probably odd to hear someone describe their own issues with such precision. Korra always tried to maintain a realistic assessment of herself from many angles and view points so she could understand what put people off about her and her work, though sometimes it was false, it helped her be to the point at times like this.
While he continued by questioning her outfit, Korra looked down blankly, again oblivious to what made it odd. Though when he commented on her wearing more then him, she shook her head slowly, awkwardly and almost unnaturally like she was trying to shake something off her head.
"I'm not."
She said simply. Reaching down to her hoodie's zipper, pulling it down and opening it up to reveal what she had underneath, she looked down at herself in thought still.
"See? I'm wearing less then you are."
She said, her clothing amounting to a swimsuit and short shorts that were practically boxer briefs with pockets and a zipper. She was ghostly pale, if not pale then her skin was almost grey, to the point where it captured the sun almost like a mirror.
"It's just easier to work in these clothes. I think they suit me."
She explained bluntly taking a small bit of pride in her uniqueness before zipping her outfit back up. Knowing almost no shame what so ever, revealing that much to anyone was something she could brush off as unimportant and matter-of-factual, after all, every time she sculpted in public, that was what she wore anyway since her hoodie had to come off for her to feel the elements on her skin. She was only fortunate that she didn't burn or tan easily.
As the person seemed to get more and more interested in following her though, she took a moment to think for a second before bringing her hands together as if she solved the riddle of why he was asking her so many questions. Taking a moment to dig through her pockets as if she had the answer, she pulled out a few quarters from the five she broke in the train station.
"This is all the change I have."
She said, of course, unfortunately assuming from his persistence and the way his outfit didn't seem to match his puzzled outlook that he was poor and in great need of help, misreading his efforts to disguise himself as just wearing what he might have found in a good will store.
"I don't know if it will help, but you shouldn't be so persistent. People might think you're trying to mug them."
She said, wanting to smile, she felt like she was doing a good service for someone, earnestly trying to help someone she imagined might be down on their luck, making a small effort to help change someone's life for the better. She felt a little disheartened that she couldn't form a proper smile for this person to try and lift his spirits because of the somber look he seemed to have when their altercation first started, but she hoped the kind gesture would be enough to help cheer him up (of course, assuming she was right in her assumption, which she clearly wasn't).
Absolutely oblivious to the possibility that someone would disguise themselves for some reason or another, she instead settled on the reasoning that he must be poor and therefore homeless because of his attire and attitude.

the number one princess in the world you should know by now how to please me, okay? Now that Leon had gotten his point across with her words and actions being really weird, he was satisfied with himself. Well, until the point that he realized - wait, she must be a vampire. There was no other explanation for it. And then he started hitting himself on the head a million times mentally. He sealed his death, he did. No one just asked a vampire why they looked funny and talked funny. Not when they knew they were conversing with a vampire. But he did. Because he temporarily forgot. But now that he remembered he stared at her in horror. When she opened her mouth and those words of weirdness came out, he stood shock still. A sure sign of being a vampire. If she didn't know how to be social, that meant she could be from a distant castle, away from civilization, like vampires were! That's why she wasn't social.
She also dressed weird. And vampires do that, because they were away from civilization, so they didn't know how people usually dressed. It made perfect sense in his mind, since that cloak could be symbolical of a cape, and most all vampires wore a cape! She was just hiding her skin. Her face was pale white (like a vampire's, just like it!), and surely the skin beneath the cloak was pale white. And then she did something that he was not expecting. He let out an inhuman noise as she unzipped her cloak. Leon did not want to see naked woman parts, he did not and and... And he might as well have. It was a bikini. Vampires tried to seduce people to drink blood from, right? So that must be why she was wearing that! Especially since her work involved seducing people, so of course it was easier to work with those clothes! It was only by fate that Leon was not attracted so such a blatantly revealing outfit.
But there was just one thing. The sun. Weren't vampires supposed to burn in the sun and cease to exist? But the sun was out, and she was obviously not dead. She must have some sort of... sun repellent. Like an item, or maybe vampires in the real world were different than usual, sun-fearing vampires. No, he was equipped for this day. All those vampire movies he had watched, he had enough information. He was going to take down this vampire and save humanity as he knew it! So went the plan in his head, anyway.
First step - see if she had a reflection. Leon first needed a mirror, but there was an unlikelihood that they would magically pass by a mirror. So Leon took it upon himself to prove to himself that this strange woman was a vampire, and of course, the first way was to get her inside somewhere with a mirror. Like a changing room, or something. Maybe a shop? He was literally going to drag her into one if all else failed. After all, he wasn't really afraid of getting bitten or anything. He fate was sealed, after all. He might die, but a vampire wouldn't do it in front of so many people. The only real thing was getting turned. There was no way. Some movies told him it was blood exchange, and others were just from a bite. He had to approach with caution.
He didn't like being ignored though. Especially not by a vampire. "Change? What-" Leon had never been handed change before. Free money? That meant, by default, he could get free candy! Maybe the vampire was nice, but he knew from experience (namely his brothers), that when people gave him money, they wanted him to go away. Ah, this vampire was smart, was she? "Thanks! How did you know I didn't carry around money today? An oversight I guess, I usually bring at least some money to buy candy, but today I guess I didn't." But then he stared at vampire girl again. "Wait. Mugging them? Being persistent? But you... you were weird!" There was a whine in his voice, trying to voice in protestations. Almost like a kid. "No way, you think I don't have money?!" He was almost offended at the vampire's blatant ignorance. Of all things--
Well, it did give him more circumstantial evidence that she was so detached from society that she couldn't tell that he wasn't homeless. After all, he doubted that homeless people took as good of their hair as he had. He had spent nearly two hours styling it and believe him it was styled like a professional. That was almost an insult. "Wow, you really must not know anything about society! After all, people don't mug people in front in the middle of downtown! Especially when there's so much people!" Leon laughed a little. "But! You gave me money, so you have to come with me now!" They were getting garlic at the next food store, and hopefully that food store had a mirror there. Although the mirror test wasn't a guarantee, it was the first of tests (besides the obviously failed sunlight test). Then it would be the garlic test. He didn't think he could secure holy water, or a cross. He didn't know any local churches. "Come on! Come on!" ___________ Language Key: English German Japanese

He was clearly thinking about something, something intense and demanding, the constant changes in his expression from depression to fear to anxiety back to depression were abrupt as if he were having some kind of inner battle with himself. It caused Korra that much more confusion while she watched him unaware that he was making such unusual plans. Though at the mention that Korra was weird again for not thinking he had any money, she was only more confused wondering what he might have wanted if it wasn't money.
Of course, how well styled his hair was was absolutely a non-issue to her, as far as she was concerned, the homeless were completely capable of such perfections if they took the time (Of course, that wasn't true, but as far as Korra thought, everyone was capable of taking care of themselves well if they had the drive). Rather then having no idea about how society worked, it was easier to say she was just sheltered to the point where she had troubles judging people from their physical appearance since everyone she talked to, down on their luck or upper crust all managed themselves appropriately enough around her family when she was younger. Only recently did she really step out into the real world in her own where she could sculpt as a professional and not as a pet project for her parents.
"Ah-- I see. I'm glad at least that it could help you then."
she spoke, clearly misjudging the situation, with all of the violent things she watched on TV to study popular culture for her pieces. It was all about tragic situations about someone's parents being killed in broad daylight and growing up to be a hero, super cops with that go rogue constantly and suffer no real consequences, or some kind of strange event happening in the streets that was unrealistic in the real world. It was how she judged things to be normally, but giving it some thought now, she wondered if maybe something had been lost in translation from the fiction she enjoyed.
She said, mind racing, faster and faster, wondering what he could possibly want for her...
After a short time it finally hit her, like a switch flipping in her brain. She'd heard about people like this, people who weren't satisfied with just money and attacked women to do dirty things to them in some private location where they couldn't call for help. Clearly if he didn't want her money and was so persistently trying to talk to her without knowing who she was, it must be something worrisome like that.
Becoming immediately weary of Leon, Korra's eyes narrowed, her expression unchanged even with her new anxiety and extreme levels of worry that he may pounce on her the moment she was out of the public's eye. She was a good analyst, but she wasn't a fighter, she didn't have much confidence to fight off an attacker even with her better then average strength, she just didn't have the experience and only had good raw materials in her eyes and physique.
Deep down in her heart of hearts, Korra was already making promises with herself, that no matter what happened from now on, she wouldn't let herself get dragged off to be touched by some strange guy...
"No. It's okay, really, I'm just glad I could help."
She answered, her stoic expression and monotonous voice not quite able to properly project the worry and distress she wanted to communicate. She wasn't sure where he wanted her to go with him to, but she was sure it was to that very place where those bad things happened that her family and nanny always warned her about strangers taking her to when she was a little girl.
"I don't want to take up any more of your time."
Korra said, her monotonous voice still unchanging even if her words were vaguely more blurred and hurried then before, she was spitting them out faster because of the worry and anxiety but still unable to communicate the proper emotion through them. Feeling like she was being stalked by someone right in front of her, she was unsure of what she should do exactly, but she knew she could not go with him at all costs, that thought continued washing over her brain only making her more panicked as she tried to hurry along like she was just doing him a kindness on her way to something else already mid-turn to try and flee from the persistent guy trying to take her places.
Even when he started to try and nudge her along in German, she only hesitated further, vaguely aware of what was going on because German had roots in the Latin and Ancient Greek she studied in an effort to try to win her parent's favor. It was all the more reason for her to grow worried as he seemed to grow even more persistent.
"After all, you really wanted 'Candy' right?"
She said, very weary, trying to alter Leon's focus to something else. She wasn't sure what kind of terrible things he meant when he said 'Candy' but she sure hoped it wasn't women.

the number one princess in the world you should know by now how to please me, okay? Okay so his goal wasn't exactly to really get garlic. Well, it was, but it was also so that he could cruise around downtown without feeling like a dimwit (actually, he probably would be one anyways, but if he had someone sharing the stupidity with him, he didn't find himself minding much) while trying to find some landmark that he at least recognized. And he couldn't really depend on an anti-social, common sense challenged vampire for any help either. To be fair, he knew a little bit about the area, else he wouldn't have gone here in the first place. But the problem was, he was a little far from the usual places he usually hung about. Was it unreasonable to think he would be able to make his way to Little Tokyo from here?
He wasn't sure if he wanted to drag vampire-chan to Little Tokyo though, he liked the place and would rather not have it on her radar. Decisions, decisions. But he looked around, turning his head from side to side to see if he could find a store that would conceivably sell him some garlic. Because Leon was dead set on testing this girl on how much of a vampire she was. Finding garlic was probably a lot easier than finding a mirror, but if the two of them could get into a store that had mirrors and garlic, that would be great!
For some reason, she seemed a little on edge. Wait... was she onto him so soon?! No, no that wouldn't do! He had to test her for vampirism before she knew that he knew about her! Now he just had to plot better and more quickly. "Kyuuketsuki-chan is onto me, I think..." He said to no one in particular other than himself. Okay, so maybe he might've liked to show off his language skills to anyone who was paying attention. Even if it was the resident vampire in his sights. He liked boasting. But this also served another function. Leon liked to ponder about aloud, it made him think better, and the only surefire way that he assumed that the vampire wouldn't know what he was saying was by speaking in Japanese. "I can't reveal that I know...!"
It never occurred to him that this chance in demeanor (could he even call it that, her face never changed but her actions sort of did) was a result of her being suspicious that he would rape her or something. In fact, that was probably the farthest thing from his mind right now. Leon didn't even look to be a guy like that. His facial expressions were easy to read, and more often than not his faces ranged from puzzled to happy-go-lucky to frustrated like a little kid not getting his favorite toy. Plus, even though he was an adult, he was more like a kid, and he even looked weak and slender. It was just his boundless amount of energy that made him appear otherwise. It was probably not a good idea to give the guy any candy.
Even though her words were a slow drone (after all, that was what being monotone was), it seemed hurried and rushed, as if she were quick to leave. No, no, he couldn't have the vampire be running away from him now! If he let her go, that meant he would risk the chance of her finding him and killing him in his sleep, or something! "No, no! You can't leave, you have to come with." He had to run his tests! He had to get her in front of a mirror, he had to get garlic, he had to find holy water and a cross, he had to find a wooden stake-
And his gear shifted just a tiny bit as candy was mentioned. "Candy? Do you want some too?! You can come with, since it's your money, we'll buy some together, okay?!" Vampires liked candy too? No, no, she was looking for an excuse for him to get comfortable with her, since she was going to drain his blood anyways. But he did want some candy too. Perhaps the store would sell candy and garlic and have a mirror. And now, with his wide expanse of knowledge on candy trivia (which was pointless to anyone besides him), he decided to trip the sneaky vampire up. "Are you a candy connoisseur? Ah... that's a big word. What's your favorite candy? I really like the coconut ones. I don't know what they're called, but they're really popular in Japan! And and, I like the fancy ones where you gotta mix the powder and it makes magically candy from it! There's also the chewy ones - I think those are Korean - they're really good too! Ahhh, I can't pick a favorite, they're all so good!"

Still persistent, this person was trying rather hard to get her to accompany him. It only affirmed her beliefs, there was no way this wasn't something bad. Trying to think her way out of it, clearly he wanted to take her somewhere, but she had to be cautious, taking a step or two, she started moving but remained cautious, she didn't want to provoke him to attack her, but at the same time, she couldn't just go willingly to her doom. Instead, she decided to wearily go along for now, wait for him to let his guard down, then maybe try escaping.
That was what she thought at least, until he started speaking Japanese, it only made her more concerned. She couldn't understand the language itself, Japanese didn't have Latin or Ancient Greek roots like a lot of other languages even if there were loan words here and there. It only made her more concerned as she steadily walked at a faintly slower pace with him, weary of getting to their destination too soon before she could escape.
"Why do I have to come with you again?"
She asked worried, not quite sure what his reason would be, but she hoped that he might have nothing to respond with so she could quickly excuse herself. Though she didn't have much hope in that route, she was quickly working on alternatives while she listened to him go on and on about 'Candy'. The deeper he got into it the more worried Korra became. Of course she was always up for meeting women (Which at this point she assumed Candy was slang for) but buying them was a worrisome prospect. She'd heard they had weird places in foreign lands where tourists would get attacked and have tragic things like that happen to them. Korra was starting to believe that may be why this person didn't suit the usual MO of the people who attacked women in her movies, because he was into a much larger ring of operations where people wore suits and ties when they did their terrible things. The hoodie and strange dress could have been to get her to let her guard or he could just be some bottom level grunt doing the field work.
Still going under the impression that an adult couldn't possibly be so interested in sugar candy, she could only assume it was slang while he questioned her causing her to hesitate.
"I'm not sure. I suppose I like all kinds."
She added wondering if she was answering the question good enough, after all she still was speaking under her strange impressions that were slowly being muddled with Leon's own impressions. Though hearing him going on about coconuts, she paused confused, coconuts didn't really go with the line of slang she thought he was talking about, not unless it was also slang for something! To be popular in Japan, Korra had to think for a minute, perhaps he meant busty girls? They would be popular in any culture though she thought but what else could it be.
Only thinking deeper as he started commenting on mixing powder to make magical candy, she had no idea what that could equate to unless it was what he used to get girls to let their guard down? Korra steeled herself determined not to let him near any kind of drink she might be buying during their little excursion. If he planned on taking her to some place for drinks as thanks for their kindness, she would have to be careful and weary about where she set her's down.
Though when he mentioned chewy, Korra froze up just a little mid step. Was he eating them? Was that how he got sick kicks? No no, she must have misinterpreted it, she had to have, there was no other way. Thinking about it rationally some weirdo like that wouldn't be able to survive, he'd be caught quickly after doing something that insane. Though turning back to watch him complain about how he couldn't decide which candy he liked more, Korra could only arrive at the conclusion that this person must be some kind of criminal master mind to escape persecution for so long. She would have to find some way to outwit this person if she wanted to survive to make her dreams come true and fall in love with a nice girl in the future.
Believing her future and dreams were on the line, she continued trying to think of a solution...
"Is it really that exciting?"
She asked concerned, that he was that excited about candy one way or another.

the number one princess in the world you should know by now how to please me, okay? The vampire started to move, and Leon was pleased with himself. The first part of the plan had been done, to get her to agree to go with him. The second part was getting acquainted to the area or happen to pass by a shop that sold garlic. And had mirrors. And crosses and holy water and vampire repellent. Basically a shop that didn't exist. But, but he had started talking about candy, and now he really wanted it.
He supposed he could make a short little stop at a candy store. When one popped by, of course. Although it looked more like a business area than a place with a store. Well, then he would keep walking until he found one, because through his own words he had made himself crave it all the more. He wanted to go to Little Tokyo! He could buy his Asian candy there. And then he would find an Asian grocer with garlic. And then he could repel himself away from the vampire.
Leon was awfully unimpressed by the vampire at this moment. He could deal with the bloodsucking and the imminent death that awaiting him, even her lack of enthusiasm of meeting him. What he could not deal with was her utterly lack of knowledge on something so basic as candy. Did they not have candy in the vampire realm? That was absolutely awful! No, Leon was determined to fix this problem. Before all the vampire stuff went on, Leon was treating her to candy. She looked at him all weird, and that was the first sign that she must not be comprehending his question. Her answer was so vague when he had been so specific...
"Well, you have to come with me for candy! Didn't I say that? We're buying candy!" Leon was going to have her get candy, whether she liked it or not! He was going to force it into her mouth if he had to. Surely vampires could taste, even with their insatiable lust for blood. And something as sweet as candy might appeal to her. If not, well, he would stab her with a wooden stake, he would! Or... or something! No one insulted candy. Although, obvious she wasn't able to pick for herself, so the most obvious answer was to figure out what candy she might like. "Huh, would you be a chocolate person? Or just sweets... Oh wait! Wait I got it! Lollipop! A cherry one!"
Leon wasn't a huge fan of lollipops, although he occasionally enjoyed one or two. But it was red, so maybe she'd enjoy it because vampires liked blood, and blood was red. "I like the sweets a lot, but sometimes chocolate is good too! Would you prefer chocolate?" He didn't expect her to answer this question. If she didn't know what candy was, certainly chocolate was no different. They were both sweet desserts, and if one heard of candy, one heard of chocolates. And then she asked the most peculiar of questions.
"Of course I'm really excited for candy! Why wouldn't anyone be? I mean, I'd love to have candy everyday, if only people didn't keep stopping me. Those idiots. Candy is the best thing in the world!" He had thought the answer was obvious. Then again, maybe he had come off as a little bit more eccentric than necessary? But one could only really describe his demeanor as eccentric, for an adult to be this hung up on candy. But maybe Leon really was a kid inside. From what he remembered, Little Tokyo was... west? West of the business district? And the sun was going down that way, so he decided to just follow the sun. Surely, surely they were bound to hit Little Tokyo if they went with this logic, right?
"Or maybe you'd like Asian candy... ah, I don't know!" He just led her in the way he thought the little Japanese town was. Maybe a sign or two would pop up and show him the right way. ___________ Language Key: English German Japanese

Things only got more complicated to Korra. As he started mentioning things like cherry candy and lollipops, she was losing out on what it could possibly mean. With a blank expression she stopped letting her eyes slide towards him giving him a cursory glance. She thought deeper, tried to wrack her brain for an alternative as he continued bringing up candy options before she finally exhaled what would have bean a groan. Dear god he meant real candy? What was she getting so freaked out for if it was real candy he'd been talking about all this time. Weary now only because she didn't quite know exactly how to approach his persistence and enthusiasm now, she wondered if it was because he was like her, an adult but still acting and feeling like a child in many ways.
The new perspective made her curious, it certainly was something they had in common, if that was the case they'd be quick friends as someone who was childish probably wouldn't have a chance to get to know other people with the same hobbies. Lightening up a little, not that a difference could be accurately perceived with her stoic expressions, she exhaled once more after a deeper breath frustrated that she jumped to conclusions so easily.
"Ah, you mean candy candy. Of course."
She said, her voice not quite so direct now, the monotonous drone returning as she became more relaxed.
"My favorite candy, let's see--"
She had to think it through, since she was a child, she'd only had rich and fancy candy from her family or festive candy from her nanny. Since she moved into her apartment, she'd been trying out all kinds of candies and didn't quite have a favorite just yet, though she did have some she knew she hated.
"I don't like extreme flavors. I like mellow or smooth candies, nothing extremely sweet or sour, flashy things don't really interest me. I like sweet taffies though, or anything you can chew I guess, it's more fun when you can play with it while you eat it, like fruit chews or soft chocolates. I remember I used to enjoy fancy brand name fudge."
Korra explained investing a bit more then a normal adult probably would in a discussion about candy. Approaching it with the same enthusiasm Leon had, though it didn't show in her face or her droning voice, now that she was more confident that she wasn't going to be attacked, her brain was surfing through the encyclopedias of things she experienced in her short life for the discussion on candy.
"I don't mind the hard candies, but just sucking on them takes some of the fun out of it, Jolly Ranchers are probably my favorite in that category, though they're more extreme then my usual candy I like to enjoy. They're sometimes nauseatingly sweet to me-- You have that sensation sometimes when you eat them that they're stinging your tongue or the insides of your cheek-- So I can't have them too often."
Korra continued in depth, raising a hand to adjust one of her twintails while she continued thinking on the subject of candy.
"There's also the Candy Apples you find at festivals that were always lovely. I remember Boston had really good candy apples that they dipped in a bunch of different things, some caramel, some sugar, some chocolate; They even had sprinkles. Of course, the South has things like Chocolate Bananas, or Fried Candy bars that were amazing too-- They would actually batter up a normal chocolate bar and just fry it to death and give it to you on a stick or something."
Korra explained with a few gestures on occasion before letting out a breath that was meant to be a sigh, some of the memories of her few meetings with her parents taking her places to study sculpting made her a little frustrated, but she felt she contributed some to the candy topic that she felt bad for avoiding so strongly when she thought it was slang for women.
"I used to really love candy too. Things have lost a lot of their luster for me recently though."
Korra said almost disheartened even if she couldn't communicate the feeling well. Since the falling out with her parents that caused her to move to LA in the first place, she hasn't really bounced back from that completely yet which caused her to view things she used to enjoy in her free time as more sad memories.

the number one princess in the world you should know by now how to please me, okay? He reeled back. He reeled back hard. And Leon continued staring at her in quizzical confusion, the expression plain as day on his face. As she prattled on about candy, he was more preoccupied with the fact that she knew of the subject of candy and that he had been sorely mistaken on his assumption that she didn't know anything about it. But he had only taken the logical path - what was he supposed to think when someone wasn't excited about candy? Obviously they didn't know about candy, because a person who didn't think candy was exciting was boring, or blasé. Actually, blasé was a word he had seen in his English textbook that looked real cool (and sounded real cool too!) and he remembered because it looked really cool. Or was it an English textbook of one of his seniors? He never did remember learning about it... It was a really weird word.
He also could not understand why she was so boring! Vampires were supposed to be scary and daunting and she was just... boring. But she was a vampire, he had practically confirmed it with his logic! Maybe she was really bad at scaring or something, because she was boring. And candy, the best subject in the whole world, was being soiled by her lips! How could one continue to talk of candy as she was, so detailed and so interesting, in such a voice as that!? Leon could practically see all of the happy emotion get sucked away as she continued to talk about candy as if she were an expert and -
Wait a minute. Revelation! Large revelation! Of course! Leon near slapped himself for not thinking of this thought sooner. Stupid, stupid. Obviously, she had memorized many textbooks about social life and she was just going on and on about different types of candy like a robot. Photographic memory - Leon didn't put it past a vampire. Especially when she got so specific about candy. And she didn't get excited in the least bit. It was suspicious she knew so much about candy, and yet reacted so little to it. Although everything she had brought up - especially those last ones, he hadn't tried yet. Candy apples? Chocolate bananas? Fried candy bars? They were so foreign to him, and just their names seemed to boast unhealthy (especially that last one - FRIED CANDY BARS), but they also sounded soooo good. "I wanna try those~"
But if she was a vampire getting this all off of an encyclopedia, then perhaps she hadn't really tried it either, despite her claims. But how could she go on about something that was supposed to be exciting in just a monotonous and unchanging way? Was she was robot vampire? Yes, yes she was, but don't vampires also exhibit emotion? Anything, anger or near-death experience, was better than having to listen to that drone. He decided to fill it up with the sound of his own voice. He cut her off - at least, he wasn't courteous enough to listen to that last bit about candy being lackluster or whatever (which was a lie, candy was never below amazing!). Maybe the sentence had made it out of her mouth, but Leon wasn't listening, and covered it up with his own excited voice (a great alternative to her own dull drone).
"Hey, hey, do you know where we are? Is there a candy store nearby? Where's Little Tokyo? You want candy, right? I want candy right now right now so let's hurry, okay?" Of course, his words were rapid fire speed of light. Perhaps vampire girl couldn't catch it all, but since vampires had enhanced hearing, he was safe, right? ___________ Language Key: English German Japanese
