She often interlaces French words in her English sentences without realizing it.Nicknames Sera02. Battle Info Rank 0.5Status CIVILIANElement N/AItems N/ALast Update N/A03. OOC Info Played By EarthmateAlso Plays ---Plot Preference Medium to low.Face Claim Lily from Rune Factory | 01. Living Situation Seraphina works as a Pyrotechnician, of all things; specifically dealing with fireworks. She also plays the lute, but this is more of a hobby than a profession. Presently, she is living alone in a small home in Anaheim, and she could probably be considered middle class. 02. Appearance Seraphina has a rather robust build, and though her facial features seem delicate, she has more power than may seem evident. Her golden amber eyes and locks of flowing orange hair really help bring fire to mind when you see her, and it definitely fits. She is slightly taller than average, standing at 5' 10", and weighs roughly 150 lbs. Typically, she has a smile on her face, but that can very easily shift. This Pyrotechnician tries to retain as much femininity as possible when not on the job; sporting dresses, outfits with frills, and decorative hair accessories as often as possible. She does, however, use very minimal amounts of make-up, usually sticking solely to blush when necessary. 03. Personality CLUMSY» As a woman with a job as dangerous as hers, one might expect Seraphina to be careful and poised.... This is not the case. Sera is a complete klutz when not at work. It's only when she focuses all her effort on the task at hand that she can pull it off without incident. She is often tripping and slipping, spilling things and breaking things, and stepping on people's feet. She makes sure to apologize for her clumsiness, but that doesn't always smooth things over. Many people - after meeting her once - try to keep their distance. Her clumsiness carries over to the way she interacts with others, and as such, she often says things she doesn't mean, or spills secrets accidentally. ARTICULATE» Despite her lack of grace in action, she has quite an eloquence to her speech. Sera may sprinkle French words in conversation without intent, but it is obvious when talking with her that she is well learned in the ways of language. She takes great pride in this fact. VOLATILE» Sera can be relatively easy to set off. She can go from angry to cheerful, and double back within a minute's time depending solely on how the other party chooses to respond. Fortunately, she tries her best to mantain an even temperment, so her easily shifted moods have become more managable. Same as with her clumsiness, Sera will generally apologize after snapping at someone; even when it was within reason. ZEALOUS» Seraphina loves her job, and also has an enthusiasm for playing the lute, as well as for pretty much anything else she attempts. Failure doesn't get her down - mostly because she's so used to it - and she's always willing to simply dust herself off and try until she can succeed. DISTANT» It often appears that Sera is off in her own little world, and... that's because she is! She likes to write her own music, or think up new design ideas for her pyrotechnics, and so she is often residing more within the recesses of her mind than in he real world. Trivial matters take up more space in her brain than in most people's, and she often thinks hard on something that should have a simple solution. CULTURED» Sera appreciates and respects all manners of art and lifestyles. She doesn't judge people based on how they live and instead shows a great interest in learning about others and their preferences. What makes people different from one another is also what makes every day so different from the last. It's good to have variety. That's how she looks at it. VINDICTIVE» As Sera tries always to extend her apologies should she cause anyone harm by any meaning of the word, she expects the same of everyone. She doesn't take kindly to people who wrong others and feel no remorse, and so she will often bear grudges against people who she deems to be that sort. She won't forget you, and she may just look to get you back in some way. Unfortunately for her, her acts of revenge rarely get the reaction desired. She's none too great at conspiring plots, but... she tries... 04. History Seraphina was born in France, and was raised there up until she reached the age of 13. At that point, her father had been given an opportunity that came with an increase in pay. The opportunity, however, required that they move their family to L.A. The move as an excitement to Sera, and though it was hard to say goodbye to her friends, she knew she could make new ones where she was going, and that they would do the same. Life prior to the move had been stagnant and boring, and though Sera was relatively oblivious to that, she was still hopeful for the change of pace. After getting settled into the new setting, what her father said had held true. He had gotten his raise, and even a promotion, but Seraphina and her mother were forced to remain at home. Though their standing in society was good, neither of them understood, nor could speak English. Sera's father was a business man fluent in many languages, but he didn't have the capacity to teach. So, they turned to a private language tutor who they hired to give them lessons at home. They paid through the nose for his services, but they got their money's worth, getting the gist of the language as quickly as could be expected. At 14, Seraphina was able to begin highschool classes with only a basic understanding of the language. It was enough to get her by at first, but the students and teachers at the school were the source of most of what she knows, now. As an elective, Sera took up a peculiar instrument being offered - the lute - not expecting to really care for it too much. She wound up loving it, and she still plays often. Eventually, her mother came to work at a neighboring elementary school, and all was well, again. Seraphina grew up normally past that point, nothing happening that could be considered out of the ordinary. She had a tough time getting through mandatory P.E classes due to her clumsiness, but she managed to pass. As she curiously scanned through the list of available courses, she often came across intriguing ones, such as wood shop. Sera had always love working with her hands, but any 'projects' she began nearly always ended in a disaster. When the time came for her to choose a profession, everyone was surprised to hear what she wanted to be. No one condoned it, knowing how much of a klutz she was, but she was determined to prove everyone wrong and overcome her shortcoming. She set off on her path toward pyrotechnics. Why? Because she had always admired fireworks and wondered what went on behind the scenes of their creation. With a heavy heart, her parents gave their blessing in her choice and helped her search the city for good internship possibilities. There was a handful that presented themselves, but one such company really stuck out to Sera. She sought to start an internship there, and though it was difficult to really make her mark on them - she didn't exactly LOOK the part of a pyrotechnician - it would seem that her tenacity wore them down. They gave her a chance, and probably didn't expect much, but... surprisingly, she did very well. For whatever reason, when she is working, her clumsiness disappears and she is as professional as can be. Because of this, she had little difficulty landing an actual job after her internship ran its course. Sera began working for that very same company, specializing in fireworks that make complex patterns in the night sky. Shortly after she gathered up the funds, she moved from her parents' home to start her own life. Her parents are still important to her, and she visits them often, but now what she is focused most on is moving up in the world... and making a bang! |
