Her father's work is lucrative enough to afford a fancy home in a beautiful gated community with all of the luxuries of the rich and the famous, but without the fame—yet. Julianna is working on the famous part by working her way into the glamorous life of a movie star. That is ultimately her top priority over all else—see in her name in lights and at the top of a blockbuster movie poster. Even now, old enough to live on her own, she still technically is part of her father's house hold so he and his henchmen can watch her, but she has her own little home away from her father's manor—they basically added on another wing specifically for her with its own kitchen and living room and all of the fixings that her own house would provide. She doesn't mind so much because she still has all of those good-looking men to call on whenever she needs an extra hand, but she also feels like she has her own privacy as well. She doesn't currently have any plans to change this arrangement. It's too convenient. 02. Appearance Her whole life is about the glamour of show biz, so Julianna takes great pride in her own apperance. She has the best health care that her father's money can pay for and with their own in-house gym, she ensures that she never gets some misplaced fat in her "hot bod". Though not outwardly vain, inwardly she thinks she's hot stuff and goes through a lot of pain to keep it that way. Julianna gets her nails done monthly, gets regular hair cuts and keeps up with the latest hair styles, and is quite fond of her just-past-shoulder-length blonde hair. She stands at about five foot nine inches (almost six feet if she's wearing the right heels) and painstakingly keeps her weight around 125 pounds—just a little under average without making her look totally anorexic. Julianna avoids anything with too much fat or gluten or whatever the media tells her is really bad for her to keep her weight even. However, she might indulge herself in some tasty treats now and again—after all, she has that in-house gym to work it off later. Julianna prides herself on her outward apperance. She spends a lot of time and money on makeup, skin creams, the most hoity-toity brand of everything, and of course her clothes. It's a lot of work, but she keeps up with all of the latest styles and always makes sure that if she's leaving the house, she looks absolutely breathtaking. Julianna would never be caught dead in public with no makeup and a pair of sweat pants on and finds it absolutely abhorrent if any other starlet is caught like that. 03. Personality Every bit the product of her upbringing, Julianna sometimes comes across as a borderline sociopath. She will do whatever she can to survive and come out on top of any situation regardless of who she has to step on to do so. She knows what she wants and if she knows how to get it, then by God she's going to do everything to make sure she gets it, whether it be throwing wads of cash at someone or just by good old manipulation. Julianna knows how to play a person and with the help of her theater classes can put on any mask that she wants to further her own goals. Julianna was a spoiled little girl growing up and she has not gotten better with age. She's used to getting her way and because her father is a pretty influential person with a lot of money and sway, she pretty much thinks she will always get her way. Though she doesn't quite think herself invincible, but she likes to bend and sometimes break the rules for her benefit because she knows she can slink away—after all, her father has the influence and once she's a big-time actress, she definitely won't ever get in trouble! She's daddy's little girl, after all. Lying about certain things comes just as easily as telling the truth for her. She can speak one or the other in the same breath, though they're never straight out lies, more like truth warps. With her father's line of business as a big-shot Mafia leader, she had to learn how to answer questions without really answering them directly. A flat out lie is a little easier to spot coming from her—she's a little more uncomfortable, but if you're not looking for it you might miss it. Talk with Julianna for a few minutes and you’re bound to realize one thing: she is full of herself. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Jul’aria thinks that she’s great and believes that everyone needs to think so, too. She takes great pride in every little thing she does, no matter what it is: cheating, lying, her acting, and even the way she treats people. She has no shame and does not suffer guilt like a normal person, her pride won’t allow that. The fact that she lacks any sort of logical moral system overrides anything close to what people would call “honor.” This is one girl who cares only for herself and won’t let anyone get in her way. Her loyalties lie in the highest bidder. She has people that she calls "friends", but they're really only people she keeps around for networking and keeping her social network broad. After being surrounded by people who are loyal strictly to her (her nannies and the goons that her dad keeps with her, for example), she really never had any need for friends. If they're useful, she'll keep them around, but the second someone offers her a better deal, she's gone. Julianna tends to cling to the people who can move her up the ranks faster. "Sassy" doesn't even begin to describe her. She's got a barbed tongue that strikes as quick as a snake and she is not afraid to use it. It's basically her first line of defense and if that doesn't work, well that's what her body guards are for. Far from a potty-mouth, Julianna still swears a little more casually than she should when in private, but when in public she tones it down a lot so she comes across as a lady-like, proper woman who can be trusted and looked up to, even if she herself views most people with suspicion—probably because she expects people to treat her the same way she treats others. Though she doesn't like to show it, Julianna is a lot smarter than she lets people believe. She didn't go to a fancy private school not to learn anything. If people want someone a little more ditzy, then fine. She'll be that air-headed valley-girl, but when you get down to it you can certainly have a meaningful conversation with her, if she feels the need to get deep. She can think quick on her feet and doesn't often panic unless the circumstances are something she could never have expected. 04. History Though Julianna grew up without her mother and with a usually absent father—she didn't really know any details about her mom, just that she had died during childbirth (which Julianna thinks is totally lame. Who does that now-a days?)—she was never lacking any parental influence. She was raised mainly by nannies and occasionally a couple of her dad's goons if they needed to go out, and of course her father did spend a little bit of time with her when he could. He was a busy man, though, and Julianna learned to take advantage of that early on by getting what she needed from him whenever he was too busy to really think about what it was she wanted. As she grew older she slowly began to realize exactly what her father did and though she understood that she could never tell anyone the truth—half-truths were perfectly okay, though—she didn't really understand why. His types of business dealing was normal to her. It wasn't strange to see a bunch of well-dressed strangers come in to do business with him, the seedy-looking packages and men carrying guns were as common place as her going to school everyday. Sometimes Daddy would come home with blood stains on her shirts, and she often overheard conversations of hits and "taking care" of bad seeds. It didn't bother her, nor did it really interest her—just the money that mafia business brought him. Life was pretty drab for a while. She was practically handed everything she wanted, and though it spoiled her, she wasn't the bratty type of spoiled—her dad himself was a well-spoken man who held himself with a lot of respect and sophistication, so it was expected of her as well. She learned to be a proper lady and was always expected to use her manners. So long as she said her please and thank you's, she got whatever she wanted with little fuss. However, it made for a lackluster life. All of her days were spent at the private school Daddy enrolled her in, or at home with the goons. At least, that's how it was until she hit fifteen and her adolescence started to slip away and things like boys and fashion really started to grab hold of her. What really caught her attention was the life of starlets. She was almost obsessed with the various actors and actresses—they're bodies, their beauty, all of the attention they got, all of the gorgeous clothes and styles they wore, and of course being in movies. Julianna buried herself in all of the tabloid magazines and the fashion magazines. She wanted that life. Julianna wanted to be in the lime light, admired and looked up to by everyone. Even though she knew no starlet was safe from paparazzi, she didn't care. Those people who got caught doing drugs and drinking and driving and having affairs wouldn't be her problem. She knew how to behave, not these wanna-be's that ruined everything. She would be the best star ever, who everyone loved. No scandals for her. The only thing stopping her was the fact that she was certain that Daddy would never allow it. His only daughter becoming a big and famous star? What if she got him discovered? But the call of the lime light was too much. She decided to risk it all and started to take theater and acting classes at school. Julianna had already participated in her school's silly little pageants and plays when she was in elementary school, but now she was going all out, even trying to get parts in local plays if she could. Eventually, of course, her father found out, but he didn't seem to care. He wasn't exactly encouraging, but he supported her for the most part. She even thought she spotted him at a local theater she was performing at, but didn't want to bring it up. After high school, she continued her acting career by taking a few more classes, but she wasn't going to go to a fancy school just to become a Hollywood starlet. Oh no, Julianna was positive that she already had the talent and the looks to become famous, so she went straight to it. She found a nice manager (who her father checked out and helped pay for, of course) and she started doing small roles in commercials and movies, hoping to catch the eye of someone. She's been at it for four years, working her way up from local theaters to finally a couple of big productions, but she hasn't landed any major parts yet. However, Julianna is certain that it's only a matter of time before she catches someone's eye, and if she doesn't—well she'll just fire her current manager and hire a better one. |
