The Garden Path is a long cobblestone path that leads though a garden that is about half the size of a football field and connects to the hedge maze. There are many types of flowers, trees and small animal found within the garden. The path is brightly lite and said to be safe at night, the flowers and trees are covered in light dew from earlier showers. | [cs=3][atrb=style,width: 460px; text-align: center; padding-left: 20px; padding-right: 20px;]

NOTES ajldvnaevasdv ❝ "L ook nice." he said as he wrapped an arm around her waist. She really should have thought this through. The skin under his hand felt like it was on fire, not the good burning either. She always heard the other ballerina's talking about how their boyfriends made them feel warm inside and she's sure as hell this isn't what they meant. Seriously, the more she wanted to cringe the bigger her smile got to hide it. "Don't I always." she said, her usually sweet voice a harsh whisper. It took hours upon hours of hard work preparing for what she thought would be a fun night. Veronica stared at herself in the mirror more than she ever wanted to do again. At least now she can say with the upmost amount of confidence that she looks amazing. No one needs to tell her, she definitely knew it. A tug at her waist made her gasp and glare at the man beside her. "What?!" she said. "Move."This man was pathetic. He wanted to impress his friends from high school with the young doll of the girl he brought to the party. Sad, ever so sad. She played the part well though with the little black dress she wore. It was a short dress which was a contrast the many sheepish woman who walked around with dresses gliding across the ground. They looked elegant, sure Veronica would agree with that, but it was too common it didn't stand out. With a bag by her side she was unstoppable. Perfect on the outside means perfect on the inside Veronica's dress came down to her mid-thigh showing off her long legs; her prize possession. What has she gotten herself into? The mask she wore hid her disgust at the situation and the sweet smile on her face only added to her facade. "It's a pleasure to meet you. James has told me so much about you." That voice better give them cavities because it was making her sick. That's it! Tilting her body towards the man next to her Veronica's baby blues met his eyes. "I'm not feeling well love. I'm going to go out for air."His lips began to form a 'no' but a delicate hand on his chest made him nod. Veronica melodic giggle rang out as she spun away. "Thank you for your time." She said giving James' friends a curt nod. A black pumps quickly moved away from the group. God, she was going to hurl was her only thought as she heard his boisterous laughter behind her. She could feel the umbrella, strapped to her bag, hitting her knees as she made a mad dash for anywhere but here. Her escape was here, a door leading to one of her true loves. Nature. She could finally hear her heels hitting the ground when she reached outside. The air was cool but humid a combination that reminded her so much of home. Alone, finally alone. Veronica collapsed on a nearby bench and let her head fall into her welcoming hands. The only thing that could make this any better would be if the bench was wet. She felt something plop on her head. "If my hair gets wet." she mumbled. Veronica reached up and plucked the object from her hair and found it out to be a flower. A bright pink crabapple blossom still wet with dew that brought soft smile on her glossy lips. She placed the flower behind her ear and leaned back. Maybe she should just stay out here and have him come look for her. Serenity. ❞ YOU'VE CARRIED ON SO LONG. YOU COULDN'T STOP IF YOU TRIED IT. tagged: - - -. time: May 2nd, 2012. 11:30pm. speech: Oskenón:ton. notes: - - -. The invitation came as unexpected, and more than a little strange, considering his living conditions. He had no mailbox, per se, and his home address was way back in Haida Gwaii. Nontheless, when Oskenón:ton first stepped out from the hostel he was residing in a few mornings ago, he was handed a neat little envelope by a man in some very nice clothes. It had his name on it… but who knew where he was, exactly? It was from a man he didn’t know, to some high end party that he thought he had no business being invited to. His first reaction was to think it was a mistake, and he’d called the number to get it cleared up, only to quickly find that there was no such thing. Yes, he’d been invited to this party, where masks and formal attire was mandatory.
A few days later, on the night of the event, he was still at a loss as to why. It must’ve been a rich person finding out about ‘local artists’ and all that, even if he was nowhere near local. A fan of his art, maybe? Haida art had a huge place now a days, even if so little took an interest in actually learning how to do it. He didn’t need help getting there, and he found it easily enough with the help of a map and a couple locals to point him in the right direction. He’d also somehow managed to procure something more formal to wear, though it was far from the high end suits and million dollar dresses he saw upon entering. The outfit was black, with a deep maroon shirt underneath and a black tie to finish it off. It was a little different than what most were wearing, but he really couldn’t afford anything else. Either way, he felt like he was wearing somebody else’s skin. The only thing that felt like it was still part of himself was his tomahawk, kept under his clothes and out of sight.
So, feeling rather disjointed and out of place among the rich and high class, Oskenón:ton decided a little bit of fresh air would do. He’d heard there was a garden at the place, and he hadn’t been steered wrong when he was told that it was beautiful, and huge. A cobblestone walkway ran through the green space, with underbrush and fountains littering the grass and a couple of trees bearing early fruit here and there. Once in a while, there was the faint skittering of some small animal and a shadow that perhaps told him there was still a rabbit awake at this hour.
The path itself was lit, thankfully, so he didn’t need to go tripping over scattered stones and roots as he walked… not that there were any, anyways. The whole place was so well manicured, he really had to wonder if any of it was left to grow naturally.
Oskenón:ton was quiet as he walked down the path, thinking he was all alone in the garden. As far as he was concerned, everybody else was inside and enjoying themselves. But spending the night with a glass of fancy red wine and mixed in with a crowd of strangers wasn’t exactly something he’d call enjoyable. Even if it was alone, spending a little time outside would do him well.
But not as alone as he thought. A little ways down the path, he spotted a girl sitting on a bench, dressed in black and a much shorter dress than he saw in the mansion. Oskenón:ton wasn’t entirely sure if he should approach her, or leave her be. He did have to go past her to continue down the cobblestone walkway, anyway.

tagged: stage 5. time: may 2, 2012 - 11:30PM. speech: rhiannon. notes: wearing this dress and this mask. It had been a stroke of brilliant luck, really, the very fact that she had even run across an invitation for this masquerade in the first place. It had been a matter of being in the right place at the right time -- and perhaps also under the right circumstances too. She had been stopped in the middle of browsing through the Beverly Center by someone -- she could not for the life or her remember who -- and been handed a rather fancy-looking envelope. Immediately after returning home, she had opened the invitation and the rest, as they all would say, was history. Like hell she was going to miss a supposedly exclusive masquerade -- even if she did have final projects due in a little under a week. Several all-nighters (or near all-nighters) were definitely in her future, but it would be worth it, so very, very worth it.
Oh, but the chance to dress up, now that was the icing on the cake! There had been a gorgeous strapless dress made up of deep plum silk that she had been keeping in the back of her closet just in case, but after a year and a half as a fashion student... it needed updating. After all, it would be the gravest of personal insults to have the same dress as another ball-goer, wouldn't it now? A few days had been sacrificed, but the end result was a one-of-a-kind dress with a skirt made up of layers and layers of ombre-dyed bridal lace that cascaded just past her calves. It must have been meant to be, because she had found the perfect mask too that was just unexpected enough to turn heads without seeming to outrageous -- in color that was a perfect match as well! You could not go wrong with plum, really -- it truly was the new black.
She kept it simple when it came down to her hair and accessories so that it was her dress that would shine. (That was what she wanted to get noticed for, after all, in case someone would be impressed enough to commission or even sponsor her). A slight update to her usual makeup routine later, and Rhiannon was good to go -- by her own standards, at least. Her parents had somehow caught wind of her intentions to attend the masquerade, and that was why she had on her person a thing of pepper spray and a taser, along with a last minute addition of a miniature sewing kit (i.e. thread that matched her dress, a few sewing needles, and a pair of small nail scissors). All of that was tucked away as neatly inside of a silver clutch that had a convenient little detachable little chain strap should she wish to just carry it across her shoulders instead. After all, one could not dance carrying something constantly!
And oh, she danced and danced and danced alright. Danced and socialized and made pleasant conversation with the few whose faces she actually found more than just a little pleasant -- or had fashions that stood out in good ways. There was a good chance that she would meet someone affluent here, and connections were, as it was in any art-based profession, essential in the world of fashion. However, someone had almost spilled their wine on her dress, and that was the moment that Rhiannon decided that no, she was going to step out right about now. Needless to say, that "stepping out" ended up being more than just the mere moment she had intended, because to be fair, she was having too much fun twirling around across those cobblestone paths pretending that she was on a runway in New York, or Milan.
Or, at least she was until she realized that there were people present in the garden along with her too and quickly stopped. Well, present as in they were in the same place at the same time -- she didn't know who either of them were, but the first thing that Rhiannon did was do a quick glance over of each person aside from herself, so as to assess their clothing. That was the first thing she was noticing tonight, really -- people's clothing. The man was dressed simple, perhaps more casually than she expected for an event such as a masquerade, but it wasn't done badly. Not worthy of any particular mention, but still within the realm of passably okay. The girl had a nice dress that was pretty, though playing it a little safe simply because it was definitely playing the little black dress card. Still, it had potential -- perhaps a statement piece of jewelry or a splash of color with the shoes. Needless to say, Rhiannon still felt like she was the best-dressed woman present for the time being...

[atrb=cellpadding, 0, true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style,width: 450px; background-color: #121212;]words: 725 tag(s): Stage 5 date: May 2nd Today won’t come again. At some point, the time has already… In his life, Kyu-Sik could count at least three times where he had felt truly out of place. The first was his grandmother's home in Seoul, the second was the bat mitzvah party for his sister's adopted Asian friend, and the third was now a masquerade ball full of mostly unfamiliar faces. It wasn't that he was bothered by strangers, or even the difference in social class. He intentionally kept himself a stranger to a lot of people regardless of their wealth. And despite his introverted demeanor, he was usually relaxed with most settings and quietly adapted well. He was even capable of the basic formal dancing to an extent thanks to his sister's brief attempt to teach him a proper waltz when they were younger. However, there was a limit to how much he was willing to throw himself into such a party. He could converse well enough, sure, but he didn't want to spend his entire night standing around chatting about the weather and whatnot with people he didn't know. It was draining in a way that he didn't care for and there were plenty of other things he could've been doing. Several times, he asked himself why in the world he agreed to come at all. He should've just chucked the invitation in the trash can and never mentioned it at all. Still, each time he asked himself the question he would look down at his knitted plum-colored tie and sigh in defeat. The young man had been dragged along by Rhiannon who had in fact even bribed him to go. The bribery wasn't really necessary if it was that important to her, but he hadn't said no to it when he finally caved and agreed. The suit was easy to obtain considering where he worked. A few adjustments were made to make sure it fitted properly, an old mask was taken from his sister's room after a few text messages, and a good-quality deep plum yarn was found for his tie. He wouldn't have denied that he was happy knitted ties were currently in style. Thank the heavens for high class hipsters. That part had been easy for him. The hard part was actually going through with enjoying himself at a party. And oh how he failed. Once he reached his limit of small chatter he casually made himself a content wallflower before slipping away from the crowd. Rhiannon seemed like she was enjoying herself well enough with others, so he didn't feel too guilty about it. After obtaining his black satchel he had insisted on bringing with him from the room they placed all of the guests' extra things (coat rooms weren't quite coat rooms in LA), he decided to head outside. It wasn't empty, but it was at least more peaceful than being in a room full of people. The air was refreshing despite the humidity. It was in the garden that he decided to park himself until he could recharge for the rest of the evening. He brought some of his mint-colored yarn and a few different pairs of knitting needles to start some sort of new project. Kyu-Sik had been knitting for around half an hour before he finally decided to look up at the sound of a familiar voice not too far away. The only surprise was that not only was the person he had heard sitting there, but also there was Rhiannon twirling happily about and a man he didn't really recognize. For a moment he was tempted to just go back to knitting. However, he did managed to put his things away and take that as his queue to rejoin the festivities. With only a few people it wouldn't be too bad. Especially when he recognized two of them. " Hey," he greeted as he approached the others, giving a small wave. He looked to Veronica and then Rhiannon, trying to remember if they had really met before. Then his glance turned to Oskenón:ton who at first impression seemed… well, oddly enough, like someone he really wouldn't mind being stuck in a conversation with in for the moment. It was nice to see someone more casual. He gave the man a nod and a brief smile before looking back to the one who had convinced him to go to the party. " Have I missed anything?" High society in general pissed Joze off. It was so fancy, and pretty, and if she were normal she might actually appreciate it, but honestly, she felt only hate and animosity to whoever this "Mr. Maximilian Lexington III" dude was. It must've gotten lost in the mail. That's what. But since she was in possession of the invitation anyways, why not go? And of course it was a Wednesday - things were always on Wednesdays and invite a school girl to go there in the middle of the week and expect her to magically be able to go to something that was so... high profile and a bit late at night. Well, it seemed like no one in her family cared much, so she was able to go. What really convinced her to go, however, was the fact that there would be free food and drink provided for all. And it was free. Food. Did she mention it was free? There was a bit of a problem, though. Formal dress and masks. Well, Joze didn't expect anything less from a masquerade ball, but how was she supposed to find something formal to wear, much less a mask? Well, she asked a friend for a dress, and she dug out a mask from the very deep crevices of her closet. Hell if it matched or not, she was trying to leech off rich people's free food, not try to make an impression. Hell if she could, anyways. No one would actually recognize her. Mainly her goal was to eat, be happy, smuggle lots of food out if she could, and then go on with her daily life. There was a surprise come midnight - she wondered just what the hell that could be. Well, if she had time, she'd check it out, but in the meantime food was her main priority, or so she planned. The problem was, when arriving at the mansion she might've got just a bit distracted at the fact of how huge it was. And how... really fancy it was. Well, it took a good amount of her attention, and now she found herself just a tiny bit lost. There was some food laying about and she managed to grab that, but as far as she saw, there was no haven of free food. Fancy ass free food, by that. She looked around, asked around, and found herself not only lost, but kinda really hungry. She asked one of the waiters, after taking an incredibly long trying to locate one, where the free food was. There was a banquet hall - well, why the hell didn't they label it better?! Of course, this wasn't her house, nor her party, so she really shouldn't question and suck it up, and go there now when she had to chance. He pointed its general direction (or at least, she hoped so), and Joze thanked him for his troubles and went on her way. She really should have just punched him, because another ten minutes and she was probably no closer to the banquet hall than she had been before she asked for directions. Not only was she hungry, she was pissed off. Joze was not amused. One more direction, one more turn and then she'll give up. And she was completely off the mark. The inside of the building opened up to the outside and onto a peaceful cobblestone path. She stopped for a second - should she go on to the place that definitely did not contain the free food she so sought for, or just turn back? Well, fresh air certainly would be nice. Peace and quiet was nice, though surely other people would have the same idea. Joze quickly dismissed the thought that she could quite possibly be alone in this cobblestone path. Definitely not. Well, she was found correct later on in the path there were already a couple of people there already. Joze didn't feel much of socializing right now, so she kept her head down, looked at the stones on the path, and started to count them. One stone, two stone, three stone. God this was boring. Four stone, five stone... Can't pretend to be oblivious for much longer. Maybe one of them knew the way to the banquet hall. But, well, she was in the garden portion and she really doubted they would know. Whatever. Whatever. __________________________ //is a lazy shit, hi i hate the cloning tool

She didn't mind parties, Veronica would be all over an event like this most of the time. Tonight, she just didn't feel up to it. She didn't know anyone here and it was just making her uncomfortable like she had to constantly be happy and laughing at bad jokes. Squeezing her eyes shut Veronica tried to force the irritating sound away. My god, were they deaf! Did it really have to be that outrageously loud? Could they not talk at a normal volume? She knew that if they talked like normal people the person they were speaking to could damn well hear them. There just talking loud because they want to make it seem like what they're saying is important even if no ones really gives a shit what color you dyed your fucking poodle. A growl of frustration ripped through her throat as she shot upwards. "What do I have to do to get pea-" With her mouth gaping wide Veronica locked her sights on a figure only feet away. Exasperated, she slapped her forehead and fell back against the bench. Great, she was irritated and a crazy person. Sliding her hand down her face she smiled in the man's direction. Veronica quickly adjusted her moved mask making sure it was in it's previous position. She wasn't entirely sure what she looked like but as far as she could tell no damage done. "Hello," she said with a flick of her wrist. "Glad to see that I'm not the only one that prefers the outdoors." she chuckled awkwardly and looked down at the cobblestone path. She must really be off her game, she just hoped there wasn't more where he came from. How could she be so stupid? Letting someone sneak up on her. No, that wasn't the stupid part. The dumb thing was she let her guard down. It's her fault, not his. She wondered what she looked like to him. A random girl sitting on a bench alone. If this was a romance movie, she'd probably be crying off the guy who stood her up. She snorted inwardly, Veronica wished she had been stood up. Dipping her head down strands of her hair fell forward covering her face. "Sorry, if I interrupted you. I have the tendency to talk to myself as you can see."Another pair of footsteps were getting increasingly close. Great, just fucking great. Veronica flipped her head up tossing her hair behind her. Maybe she jinxed it, maybe she was cursed or she was just unlucky but moments after the man appeared so did a girl. A girl with brilliant hair if she had to say so. A gorgeous dress to match, it kind of made her jealous but she had her reasons for not wearing something more 'bright', an hundred dollar reason. If there was one thing she knew about females is that they liked to size each other up. It's a behavior she does herself in ballet class. She steals glances, makes her judgments and looks away. Essentially, it was eyeing the competition. Women all had their reasons; some draw inspiration from others, some just like to compare and tell themselves they look better and others just like to admire. Veronica likes to say she's part of the last group but, honestly she does lean towards the second. It was a rather primitive type of thinking, seeing all other women as threats, but it's human nature. This wasn't much of a battle between the two though. Veronica looked nice, that's because she aimed to look nice. The other girl tried hard to look great and she succeeded. With a graceful push Veronica let her bag slip off her shoulder and was easily up on her feet. The clunks she heard coming from within her bag made her pause, she quickly shoved the thought away for another time. "Woah," she said forcing her eyes wide. "You look amazing." Was kissing ass still kissing ass even if it was rightly deserved? Does that just turn it into a compliment? Yes, she guessed, she supposed it did. It was her way of vocally waving a white flag, Veronica was admitting defeat. It wasn't a fair fight to begin with. "Maybe I should let you pick out my dress." Tilting her head to the rich she shrugged and let out a short giggle. Dipping down at the waist Veronica gave them both a sweet smile. "I'm Veronica, Veronica Ferrari." A third voice, this was becoming quite a crowd, caught her attention. She stiffened back up preparing herself for another stranger. It seemed that luck was finally on her side as only a familiar face greeted her when she turned to look. Veronica's shoulders slumped forward. "My, my, my don't you look handsome Kyu-Sik." she said with genuine smile stretching across her features. The moment didn't last long though. A darker look took its place when he turned toward the prettily-dressed woman. Out of habit her bottom lip found its way between her teeth. Her eyes flew from one to the other and repeated the process. They knew each other, "You know each other." she said out loud. It was more of a statement than a question really. Could it be? It was bad to jump to conclusions but she couldn't resist. "Is this your date, Kyu-Sik?" she asked. It was a simple enough question. She knew it was unlikely though but that didn't stop her from asking. How could Kyu-Sik get a date with…with someone so….chic? Was that even the right word to use? God, she needs some wine. Veronica wasn't saying he couldn't get a girl like her, he just probably didn't. Kyu-Sik just didn't seem her type and vice versa. But what did she knew maybe the girl liked guys who could knit. Now, this was just getting ridiculous. They could have their own party out here with the amount of people that kept showing up. Veronica's cheeks were hurting from all the smiling so she just gave up to having a blank expression on her face. "Join the party." she said finally letting her annoyance at the situation leak through just a pinch. At least her comment came out more sarcastic than mean. One stranger is fine, she could handle that in the state she was in. Two, okay it's pushing it just a tad. But three?! Veronica she couldn't really focus and was just floundering about looking for some familiarity. Making good first impressions is so tiring. ❞ YOU'VE CARRIED ON SO LONG. tagged: - - -. time: May 2nd, 2012. 11:30pm. speech: Oskenón:ton. notes: - - -. Approaching the young woman, Oskenón:ton smiled ever so slightly, nodding towards her in a friendly matter. It did seem she didn’t know that he was there, though; she was talking to herself. Something about getting some peace? Was it the noise that was bothering her? He wasn’t entirely sure if he should approach her at that point, and he hesitated before she did acknowledge him.
He stopped at the end of the bench, perhaps a foot or two away from the girl with a faint smile. ”I quite like the outdoors. To be honest, it’s a bit loud in there.” And it was. He just didn’t like being in crowds of people that he didn’t know. ”Oh, it’s alright. You didn’t interrupt me at all. I just came out for some fresh air.”
Soon enough, it was fairly obvious that it wasn’t just the two of them who wanted fresh air. A few others gravitated towards them eventually; another woman and a young man in a purple knit tie. At least he could identify that; plenty of his patrons had knit ties like that. All at once, it seemed like a few smatterings of people who decided inside the mansion was not to their taste came to the bench all at once. Oskenón:ton glanced around, trying to summarize everybody who’d just arrived, seemingly all at once.
He smiled a little at the young man who seemed to come along; the one with the knit tie, and who’d sort of glanced over at him first. ”Hello there. I don’t think you’ve missed anything.” At least, nothing that Oskenón:ton had come across, anyway. Really, everybody seemed to have come together out of pure incident, and he didn’t have too much of an issue with that as long as more people didn’t start trickling in. The more strangers there were, the less comfortable he felt, as a rule of thumb.
One of the other girls, the one in a… purple? Was it purple? Something like that. The girl was rather nicely dressed, perhaps a bit better than the rest he’d seen. He smiled at her, too, giving her a bit of a nod of acknowledgement and trying to start up some small talk. ”I like your dress.” He knew absolutely nothing about fashion, of course…

tagged: stage 5. time: may 2, 2012 - 11:30PM. speech: rhiannon. notes: wearing this dress and this mask. Rhiannon beamed at Kyu-Sik when she spotted the boy wave, and she returned it with one of her own as she said, "Oh, no, you didn't miss anything much, I think -- well, unless you count someone being too drunk already to properly keep a hold on their own glass as something." As she spoke, she quickly looked over her dress again, to make sure that no splotches or dots of red wine had stained the white lace at the hem of her dress. Okay, good, no crisis averted, it was still about as pristine as it had been starting out earlier in the night. "But aside from that, there really wasn't much else to miss aside from the dancing. Which was nice, but a breather sounded nice right about now, actually!" Especially after almost having a heart attack over possible damage to her dress -- wine stains were just incredibly difficult to wash out.
She was quickly swept up, however, by the compliments on her dress -- it only confirmed further in her head that it was a winner, that she had indeed created something that could steal the show without even trying. (Except that she was trying, and she trying really, really hard.) Rhiannon smiled, and lifted the skirts to her dress just the tiniest bit as she dipped into a little curtsy -- she had always wanted to do that, actually -- with another smile, a little bit of pride shining through. "Thank you kindly," the pink-haired girl said to the older man and the girl named Veronica, to whom she added, "Perhaps. Though the little black dress is a classic staple for any woman's wardrobe, so I wouldn't consider you as completely uninformed." No, uninformed was not quite the she was looking for, per say -- the more proper term was perhaps something more along the lines of not quite thinking outside the box...
Did it really matter that she knew Kyu-Sik though? "I would be surprised if I didn't know him, actually. I do head over to the store he works at every other week or so." At that point, Rhiannon tilted her head, as if to wordlessly tell the other girl to go on -- speaking with the eyes, after all, was one of those subtle little skills that she hoped to master someday. And then the pin dropped, and Rhiannon admitted with a bit of a smile that was somewhere between amused, turning just the slightest tad apologetic when she looked over at Kyu-Sik. "Well, to be fair... I asked a favor of Kyu-Sik here." And oh, it had been a big favor, alright. How else had she managed to get to the masquerade earlier that night? To be honest, she owed him big time.
"... I didn't interrupt anything by chance, did I?" Rhiannon finally asked, addressing both Veronica and the man whose name she did not know. And perhaps someone else too. She was relatively sure she had heard footsteps from somewhere nearby, and took a quick look around before saying, "A pleasure to meet you all then. I'm Rhiannon, but feel free to simply call me Rhi if it is too much of a mouthful to say."

[atrb=cellpadding, 0, true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style,width: 450px; background-color: #121212;]words: 476 tag(s): Stage 5 date: May 2nd Today won’t come again. At some point, the time has already… Despite the slight discomfort, Kyu-Sik was about to thank Veronica for her compliment. However, he paused when the girl seemed surprised that he knew Rhiannon. Which… fair enough, he knew he didn't really have a very big contact list outside of work. In fact, had it not been for his job, he probably wouldn't have really known either of them. Socializing was just something he didn't have time for otherwise. It was a miracle that he was even there at all, as all the other things he could've been doing at home kept running through his mind. He had a bit of a confused frown at the conclusion that had been jumped to after that. What was the clearest way to answer what she was asking? He and Rhiannon were there together, but it wasn't a date. However, there was a look of relief when Rhiannon answered the question for him. He gave a nod to second what had been said. As he looked between the girls, he was about to mention how his employer got the two confused on the basis of their pink hair. However, he decided that perhaps he should hold his tongue. While he himself had few cares and worries for what went on in the fashion industry ego-wise, he wasn't completely oblivious. He worked for a tailor and he was an etsy knitter, after all. If he hadn't picked up on the importance a person could put towards their individuality, he would've been learning way too slowly. He decided on a better way to put it. " Veronica has been around the store before," or at least her boss had been there more so? He wasn't going to go into another person's details, as he hardly paid mind to them himself so long as payments were kept straight. " But I'm sure you would have remembered if you had seen each other." Rather than say any more, though, he paused to let the conversation go on between the others. One good thing he found in a group was that he wasn't expected to say too much. He could always answer questions when needed, but he didn't like to just chatter otherwise. He felt a bit bad for the other man present, then wondering if anything had actually been interrupted prior to his arrival. However, the conversation between the others if something had been interrupted took the pressure off of him. He was just quietly there by association. It was a good place to be in for his second round at the masquerade. Though, as the more official greeting was taking place, Kyu-Sik's head turned in the direction of approaching footsteps. Another person he didn't recognize, but she was still coming towards them. Maybe she knew the other man? For all he knew, she could have also been a friend of Rhiannon or Veronica. |

Awkward, that was how she explained this. Maybe she should have turned back when she had the chance and go back in search of the free food that was here. But much too late now, she probably was spotted by these people, and if she hadn't she was afraid that it was still much too late to escape notice. To be caught on this path going towards these people then abruptly turning back, well, it was rather rude. While Joze was rude a lot of times, she really didn't think that would be a good idea to be as such at such a formal event. If they just ignored her it would be all good, and she could continue on the path and see where it would lead to. Which was a thing she was rather curious about. Where would it lead to? Or did it just loop back into a never ending circle? The scenery was nice, but she wanted to know where this path was taking her.
Of course, she was spoken to (in a sarcastic way) and now it would be rude to turn away, as it had before. But it would also be rude to just continue on walking like nothing happened and ignore the group of four there. Why there they all there? Joze got lost, but it was a bit of a stretch to think the rest of them had gotten lost too. She honestly, just wanted food. That was all she was here for and she managed to get tangled up here. Oh boy. She had been under the impression that the gardens were supposed to be a place to get away from the party and find a little peace. Nope, she found more people. "Thanks for the warm welcome, really appreciate it there." Too late for being rude, she already was. She could feel her irritation boil up a bit.
Not only could she not find her food, she was stuck here now. She could make a quick getaway, but for some reason she was stuck here. Stupid masquerade, she could really have done without it. "I don't think you've interrupted anything at all, if anyone's to blame it's me." Two people with pink hair, what an interesting duo. "You guys seem to know each other for the most part, I'm the stranger." She was being oddly intrusive, maybe it was time to make her exit.
Ah, well, maybe she'll stay a little longer.
y-you guys are moving so fast o.o

tagged: - - -. time: May 2nd, 2012. 11:30pm. speech: Oskenón:ton. notes: - - -. Things were really picking up, now were they? He glanced over his shoulder at the sound of footsteps, seeing as another girl approached them before the pink haired girl’s question drew his attention back. Disrupting anything? She did introduce herself as Rhiannon… an interesting name, to say the least. He’d never heard it before, but then again, he seemed to have not heard about a lot of names that were fairly common. Just because he’d been an avid traveler didn’t mean he knew too much about cultures outside of the Haida. He was trying, though, and this was a good a start as any.
”No, you didn’t disrupt anything.” He’d crossed paths with the girl entirely by accident, and he supposed it was the same for everybody but the other man and Rhiannon, who seemed to know each other. It wasn’t his business to pry, though.
But while they were doing introductions, apparently… He actually knew nobody there, so he decided it might be worth it to put his name out there. ”My name is Oskenón:ton. It’s very nice to meet you all.” He’d be lucky if anybody even recognized his work or his name, though apparently the person who invited him did. It was really the only reason why he could have been invited to the party in the first place.
And really, it was all just on time, too. Another girl made her entrance, even if she sounded less than polite. A bit uppity and rude, but nothing that Oskenón:ton was unused to. He had lots of customers like that, or at least acted the part, and sometimes he just had to smile and play along. But just because they were paying him, didn’t mean they could get whatever they wanted, and sometimes he had to give them a gentle reminder. Otherwise, he grinned faintly at the girl. It was a nice evening, and he wasn’t about to ruin it.

tagged: stage 5. time: may 2, 2012 - 11:30PM. speech: rhiannon. notes: wearing this dress and this mask. "Have I seen her?" Rhiannon asked, looking between Kyu-Sik and Veronica. "I can't seem to recall, but perhaps I'll see her next time. Or some time after the next." To be fair, she may or may not have seen the girl once or twice while she was in the shop that Kyu-Sik worked at -- which was more or less every other week, but okay. Perhaps she should pay more attention to her surroundings. That certainly seemed like it might be a good idea. "It's been a rough few weeks, so apologies if my memory isn't exactly what it should be." Well, it wasn't a lie, finals were pretty soon.
Rhiannon tilted her head in the direction of the other girl -- the blonde one, to be specific -- and said, "Well... I can't exactly say that blaming you would be quite the term -- after all, if I may make an assumption here, none of us here expected to actually end up meeting?" It was true, if she really thought about it -- out of all four other people here, she probably would have only half-expected to run into Kyu-Sik out here, and that was only because she knew him. Might as well make every acquaintance she could though -- at a party that most likely had a number of high-profile guests, meeting as many people as possible was imperative. Who knew, maybe someone she'd meet here tonight would be able to help her make her big break in the future. So yes, her first impressions were very important, to say the least.
Then, the man whose name she didn't know introduced himself, and Rhiannon had to pause and blink. "... Os... ke... non... ton...?" she said, as if she was trying to wrap her head around the pronunciation of every syllable of the man's name. It was... quite a name, to say the very least. Rhiannon gave a small smile, and then a sheepish giggle as she said, "Terribly sorry about that, I just simply didn't want to accidentally say your name wrong." Yes, go ahead play the part of the charming sort-of ingenue, why didn't she? An intelligent ingenue, as contradictory as that was.

[atrb=cellpadding, 0, true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style,width: 450px; background-color: #121212;]words: 441 tag(s): Stage 5 date: May 2nd Today won’t come again. At some point, the time has already… As he was a bit unsure of whether or not the two girls had met, Kyu-Sik just nodded at the idea that there was always a chance for it to happen in the future. It wasn't unlikely for them to run into each other there eventually, and now that they were actually introduced they wouldn't miss each other. The part of the conversation that caught him a bit off guard was how frustrated the blonde newcomer seemed. He could understand the plight to an extent. Aside from the two pink-haired girls, he couldn't actually say he really knew anyone else that he had seen there. That was just the way things were when one went to this sort of big party. " This is really more the place you come to avoid others rather than meet up with people you know," the Korean boy admitted as he took a moment to adjust the strap of the bag on his shoulder. He didn't expect the garden to be completely empty at any point of the evening, but he wasn't going to lie about why he was there. Also, it seemed like a good way to back up what Rhiannon was saying. Which, well, his statement wasn't really the best way to say what he meant even if he meant no harm through his honesty. It was just a weird coincidence to see the two people he actually knew there at the same time, though it hadn't been an impossibility. Stranger things had happened and it wasn't that big of a deal anyway. Thankfully, the conversation had changed to introductions. That was easy enough for him to respond to. " I'm Kyu-Sik. Nice to meet you," he responded to Oskenón:ton. This was apparently a man he could start a 'difficult to say name' club with, and there was some enjoyment to be found in that. A slight smile managed to tug on the corners of his mouth again. The United States was a very diverse place, Los Angeles especially so. He was used to hearing plenty of widely different names. Usually, though, he could pin it to a particular origin. The man's wasn't one that he could recognize. Kyu-Sik kept the confusion from showing on his face, but later he would have to ask about where a name like that came from. First things first, though. Not one to make a mistake more than once, he then looked directly to the blonde girl he did not know yet. May as well have everyone's names for as long as they were there and she would not be left out of the introductions. " And your name is..?" |

TAGS stage five! NOTES trololololo ❝ F rom the snippets of conversation she had actually absorbed Veronica managed to catch herself up. The larger man came out for air and liked the outdoors, the girl with pink hair was named Rhiannon, Kyu-Sik remained mostly silent, and the blonde was rude as hell. Where had time gone? Veronica really wasn't paying attention, she wasn't sure if it was the company or the fact that she'd rather be sleeping but she had zoned out. When she came back everyone was all smiles well mostly everyone so she assumed she hadn't missed anything interesting. Everyone, except for the last to join the group, was on a first name basis. Good, that's good. Had she been a bit harsh? That would explain the blonde's rather…..rude reply. Veronica was older so she might as well be the bigger person no matter how much it pains her. Her lips pressed into a thin tight line. "Don't be silly, you didn't do anything wrong. Everyone I suppose had the same idea coming here" What if she's someone important?Make her feel welcome, gain an assets. You never know when you'll never when you'll need help. Then again she could be a hobo that snuck in but why take the chance. Time to pay everyone their little bit of her attention. Might as well look like she was paying attention. "Oskenón:ton?" she whispered looking down at the ground. It was just in case she messed up, didn't want it being too obvious. It sounded right to her ears so she didn't worry too much. For the strangest reason though Veronica felt like the name was familiar maybe her boss said it. She never did listen to anything he said. Her eyebrows scrunched together as she peered at him carefully. "Oskenón:ton," she said a bit slowly hoping that it was correct. "If you don't mind me asking what do you do?"Veronica unfurrowed her brows and perked up. She turned in the other brightly haired female. "That's a beautiful name, Rhiannon." she said dipping her head in her direction. "I don't believe we've met but once school eases up I'm sure we'll see a lot of each other." That's the case for Veronica anyway; the finals were coming up and she was spending more time studying than sleeping. Pressing a fingertip to the lips Veronica studied Rhiannon's hair. They seemed to almost have the same shade, well this girl had wonderful taste. That's a fact. With a tiny chuckle she tilted her head to the side. "I love the hair by the way."The only person left to introduce themselves is the young blonde. Honestly, Veronica wasn't really sure she wanted to learn her name. Out of courtesy the pinkette had to ask her name but Kyu-Sik beat her to it. God bless that boy. She probably wouldn't have sounded very sincere if she had asked. ❞ YOU'VE CARRIED ON SO LONG. As midnight drew near, the few employees still present in the garden began to either encourage the guests to return to the ballroom where Mr. Lexington was or to direct their attentions to the television set up in the middle of the garden. ”Mr. Lexington will be making his speech now,” one of the attendants shouted to the general public. ”You can go back to the ballroom to see it live or please direct your attentions at the TV.”
The high- definition flat screen present in the large garden showed the events of the main hall as it happened.
Those that stayed in the garden gasped and whispered in worried voices after they watched the scene unfold. Someone commented that they should probably leave. Another worriedly asked the attendant if the scene was part of a show of some sort.
No one noticed the snakes as they silently slid through the well-tended plants and toward the crowd of people. The snakes were long and very, very large. The one at the forefront was larger than the rest, it’s brightly coloration was also more brightly marked than the four smaller snakes behind it.
Once they neared the first group of people, the air around them stilled and suddenly the party goers standing to the side found that they could no longer speak. They could try, but no sound would come out of their mouths. The largest snake, the General, made a hissing noise and at once the smaller snakes separated from the group and approached the terrified humans.
The closer the snake approached the more the person found that it could no longer breathe. Those three humans quietly choked to death without the notice of others.
The snakes then regrouped and turned their attention to another group of people. There were five in this group, three women and two men. The snake turned to its followers again.
"Leave this group alive as slaves. Knock them out and only kill if it gets out of hand." Once again, the stilled the air and crawled into the vicinity of the humans. They would no longer be able to speak. So long as they did not notice, their operation to capture them would be quick.

[atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] Joze was ready to deal with anything they - or rather, that girl - would dish out. Various blow ups at her brother and vice versa and taught her many things, and none of them prepared her for the peace and truce that was offered to her. So she was taken aback. They were all fairly cordial... and nice. Maybe she had acted a little bit harshly at first, but she felt somewhat threatened. It was the lack of food. That's what she would blame it on. The lack of food. "I was a little rude, wasn't I? Sorry... I was looking for something and stumbled along here." Insert sort of nervous laughter that probably wouldn't be returned. "I'm a little... moody. Because I'm hungry." Right, because they'd totally believe something like that, absolutely.
"I'm Joze, by the way." Introductions were going around, and she would feel fairly selfish if she chose to withhold that information. Even if she was unwilling to do so. She would have said something else to try to swat that fact away as quickly as possibly, but she was saved by one of the employees. Thank god. She turned her attention toward the television in an attempt to try to ignore the group. In fact, after this, she would probably go back to her grand search for the banquet hall. Though she never did get the opportunity.
As the scene played out on the screen, Joze went from horrified to really annoyed and peeved. "Are you kidding me, first zombies, now bugs?!" The screen continued to play and she made a mental note to herself what room to avoid. What was she feeling now? Peeved? Mad? She didn't think she'd have to deal with this shit so soon. Well, it couldn't possibly be worse than what she'd already been subjected to, right? What was on the screen was just a huge bug - it wasn't a rotting piece of flesh right in front of her threatening her life. Oh the little things she thought about that made her feel a little better about this situation as a whole. Well... at least I worked on my aim a bit...
No. No definitely not. Joze knew what this was. This was fake. An act of fiction. It had to be! There was no way... that had just happened. It was just a spectacle. No way something like this could happen to her again - she couldn't possibly be that unlucky! She was just paranoid, that was all. She just had to learn how to take a joke. She needed to work on that, maybe. Though, it just seemed to real. Especially on that high definition TV that looks quite out of place in this garden now that she thought about it. She wanted to laugh out loud, but that would just earn her crazy looks. She'd probably get thrown into an asylum while she was at it.
Maybe now was a good time to go to the banquet hall. Now that she knew where not to go, perhaps it would be easier to find it now. By process of elimination, anyways. But still, she made a mental note to herself not to go to the main hall, because she was still shaken by how real everything looked. If she made her escape now maybe they wouldn't ask so many questions. She turned to leave, bidding a goodbye and -
Well that was odd. She couldn't talk - did she lose her voice? She tried again. Nothing. Was anyone else talking? No, not at all. That was weird. She supposed she could just content herself with not saying anything else and go towards the exit. She turned, looked ahead, and then immediately turned her back and started booking it. Yep, the scene was definitely real on the screen. It had to be, why else were there snakes and dead people?! And despite her wanting to save her own skin, these people she had just met ought to start running too, just in case they didn't see those monsters that were scaring the living shit out of her right now.
At least they weren't zombies. Thank god it wouldn't be a repeat performance of that. She looked over the path, looking for something. Anything. Shelter. There was a shed, probably holding something that could possibly help in this sort of situation - because anything would help with the meager attire she was wearing without weapons or anything protective. Maybe supplies or something? Worth a shot. She started running straight towards it. She was even trying to call out to them, pointing and waving madly at them to go there too. Only she still couldn't say anything. Well, this would definitely be difficult if she wanted to get out of here alive. So big movement and hopefully they would follow suit.

Post by OSKENÓN:TON on May 8, 2013 5:10:24 GMT -8
tagged: Moose. time: April 25th, 2012. 11pm. speech: Oskenón:ton. notes: - - -. So the whole thing seemed… Nice, so far, he supposed. Everybody was introducing themselves nicely, and though the girl that just arrived didn’t seem too friendly, he couldn’t say that she actually came her because she wanted to. Like him, she could’ve been a person who’d just gotten an invitation out of the blue. The only thing he could possibly think of was his art, and somehow, the man who’d hosted was some sort of distant fan that thought it’d make him look good to have an out of town, little known artist that worked in a traditional style attend.
But then the screen came up, and it quickly put an end to his thoughts as he looked on. There was a… thing, in a cage. The very first thing that came into his mind upon viewing it, however, was tupilaq. He paused, hesitating as the man on the screen spoke. Mr. Lexington, likely. He seemed pretentious at best, and Oskenón:ton pressed his lips into a tight line, brow slightly furrowed in a mild apprehension. All the sudden, the minimal interest he held in this party took a dive, and he found that he definitely didn’t want to be there anymore.
But when the creature tore through the bars like they were sticks, reaching for the crowd, Oskenón:ton definitely felt that he shouldn’t have been there. Damn it. His gaze flicked away from the screen, and for the briefest of moments, he could’ve sworn he saw something move out of the corner of his eye. No, he was just edgy, that was all. This was all a show, right?
He opened his mouth to say something, but found that his words died abruptly on his tongue. He tried again, but whatever he was trying to say got lost, choked down in his throat and unable to come out. Okay, so panic wasn’t exactly in his every day dictionary, but it was definitely in there somewhere, hidden at the very back. It definitely threatened to make itself known when he heard a faint thud behind him, and turned only to see several people lying on the grass, unconscious. And there were snakes. It was always snakes.
Damn it.
His hand immediately went for his hip as she saw that other girl, the blond one, bolting towards a nearby garden shed. Oskenón:ton had almost had to pull the race card when they asked him why the hell they had a tomahawk on him, but it was a work tool and a defense weapon and like hell he was going anywhere without it. It had saved his life more than once, and he wasn’t leaving it for some party.
For the third time, he tried to yell at everybody else, telling them to head for the shed because there had to be something useful in a damn gardening shed, right? People didn’t keep such neatly manicured lawns without at least a lawn mower, and a lawn mower had blades. Nothing came out, though, so he was forced to just bolt the same way the blond was going and hope the others followed. Even if he was already armed, better safe than sorry.

tagged: stage 5. time: may 2, 2012 - 11:30PM. speech: rhiannon. notes: wearing this dress and this mask. Well, yes, Kyu-Sik did have a point that retreating to the garden was meant to be something one did to avoid having to meet people. Not that she herself was avoiding people, per say -- it was more like she was trying to avoid people so inebriated that they posed a risk to her dress of all things. Besides, it would seem that the people in the garden were rather lovely to talk to, at least for the most part. She gave a smile to Veronica -- one to those pretty little smiles that she had spent hours practicing in front of the mirror to make sure that everything was just right -- before replying, "Oh, definitely -- good luck with school by the way, and thank you as well." Maybe having simple but pleasant conversation was the way to go for now.
Except the host of the ball seemed to be keen on making some sort of announcement, if everyone's attention being directed to a massive flat-screen television was any indicator. Okay, so something about the host being a fan of hunting down exotic animals? Except Rhiannon would hardly call the thing in the unveiled cage on the television screen easy on the eyes. She visibly grimaced at what she saw -- and then the massive bug talked. Wait, what? That thing was talking? How? She turned to look at the blonde girl who had introduced herself as Joze rather incredulously when the she had mentioned there having been zombies before. Hold on, zombies, what? Had she just walked into some sort of horror B-movie with a prom night theme? Then, the bug literally cut its way out of the cage.
Even if it was all happening on screen, Rhiannon still couldn't help it but to scream. Or at least, she had tried to scream. She felt the scream leave her throat, but she didn't hear it -- and that was all the more alarming. Yes, she was panicking, very, very definitely panicking as she tried to call out to the people around her, but no sound was leaving her mouth. What the hell? And then, just when it seemed like there was already more than enough to panic about, she had turned just in time to see several party-goers sprawled on the ground, apparently unconscious in some way or form. That was when Rhiannon saw it, and everything went from bad to worse. Snakes. Big snakes. Big snakes near people laying prone on the ground. Shit.
Rhiannon didn't need to be told a second time that if she was going to run, now was the time. She made an attempt to grab onto Kyu-Sik's arm to hopefully spur him into running in the same direction that she was bolting in now, which was the same direction as Joze and Oskenon:ton. Why was no one screaming? Between the blonde girl's flailing movements and maybe a moment where it looked like the darker-skinned man was trying to shout something, Rhiannon was expecting to hear people yelling. And yet, there was no sound. None at all. But there was a gardening shed. Was that where they were headed? Most likely. Maybe there was something in the gardening shed? A shovel, or a pick-axe? Rhiannon sure hoped there was going to be something inside the shed that could be used. Otherwise, they were screwed.

At some point, the time has already… Any of the slight tensions that seemed to be in the discussion quickly faded. He couldn't really relate to the moodiness Joze admitted to, but he could understand what she meant. It didn't really bother him. Everyone seemed to be getting along well enough, and he now had everyone's names. He wasn't sure how long he'd actually need them, but it was good for however long he was going to be in their conversation. However, as he momentarily pondered the time, his attention was taken by the employees who were directing people to the view of the television. Kyu-Sik had no interest in heading all the way back to the ballroom for a speech. He didn't even really care about what the man had to say as he assumed it wouldn't really affect him by any stretch, but he still looked over to watch and listen like everyone else. Welcome, blah, blah, typical speech things were said. And then… well, that's when the unexpected started happening. A bizarre looking creature was shown in a cage only to cut itself out just moments later. That was… what? It wasn't like anything he had every seen before outside of fiction. He certainly wouldn't have expected it to be capable of talking. In the end, the events on the television screen only earned a raise of the eyebrows from Kyu-Sik. As was reasonable, he couldn't imagine the scene being real even if he hadn't expected it to be that kind of party. Halloween was a few months away and this seemed like an odd stunt. Maybe there was a new alien invasion sci-fi movie coming out and this was a publicity stunt? That seemed like a much more believable explanation than the event being real. And then people were passing out in the garden. At first he was just going to believe that these people were involved with the stunt. Joze had said something about zombies, so it was possible that she was in on it as well. However, there wasn't a lot of explanation for the snakes that he could plainly see. …Robots? His eyes widened and he wasn't really sure if he should react. It was hard to believe. However, the moment Rhiannon grabbed his arm, he did look over. That's when it was obvious something really was wrong. He tried to speak only for nothing to come out. For someone who really didn't like talking all that much, it was alarming to suddenly lose the ability to altogether. No one was saying anything, so it had to have been affecting everyone else as well. Not wanting to end up like the people laying on the ground, Kyu-Sik quickly decided that the others he had been talking to had the right idea. He nudged Veronica to follow before running towards the shed as well. He wasn't entirely sure what was going on or what would happen after they all ran for it. How could he know? Still, better to head for shelter and find something to protect himself if need be. There was bound to be something useful in a gardening shed. He also tried to think of everything he was carrying with him, but he wasn't really sure how useful his knitting would be. ...Did 911 accept text messages? |
