Please post below with your character fully entering the dinosaur exhibit. You may use all/part of your last post of the other thread to do so. There is only one light source in this large room. There is a battery powered light that is placed under the Triceratops bones which can be found in the center of the room. Note how quite the room is, there may be a few npc's around, hiding, scared. The room is rather large, it has a few bones on display such as the Triceratops, Compsognathus, Apatosaurus velociraptor and a hanging pterodactyl.

In the center of the room in the well kept bones of a Triceratops. Unlike some other museums, this museum does not use fake molds for the exhibits, feeling that to really show history they should only use the real thing. under the dinosaur is the only known light source of the room, a few battery powered under-lights, which have a short rang and only illuminates the Triceratops and the hanging pterodactyl above it. Oh the left wall there is the largest bones collection in the room. A young Apatosaurus, only a bit shy from its full growth as an adult. Because of its length the body reaches from on exit to the other.
on the right side of the room is where the exhibit shows off the small but deadliest of the Mesozoic Era, including five very small Compsognathus dinosaurs. Due to their small size they normally only kept to eating small pray and carcases they found in the wild. Also on this side is a small set with a fake nest, around the nest is a large stone tablet of three velociraptors. Predicted to be some of the smartest creatures of their time, the tablet holds incomplete skeletons, but has also some how preserved some of the creatures DNA due to half of the table being covered in what looks like tar.

Now that the haphazardly-formed group had returned to their meeting spot, Alec turned to them and tried to stay calm and talk. "I'm sorry to throw you two into this, but I'm just very worried about us all. I have an idea, but it's going to sound crazy. We need to get to the second floor, but some of the exits and staircases are going to be blocked. We need to head this way, but that's really all I know at the time. I'm Alec, by the way. The circumstances suck in our meeting but let's try and stay alive okay?" There. Did that sound like a brave leader's voice assuring his teammates before going into battle. Not a bit, but it was the best he could do. Putting on his determined face, he reached into his back pocket and pulled out the familiar blade, keeping it folded over until he needed to use it. But he hoped that he didn't have to.
He turned and began making his way through the next exhibit, stopping to look around for any clues of what might be going on. Running wasn't going to do them much good right now, especially since the room was rather dark, so he decided to take a slower pace and observe. "Let me know if anything looks...suspicious." He turned to smile at both Yana and Nate before continuing forward. He could barely make out many details, but he knew that they were probably scared. In fact, he was scared to death, but he wanted to do his best and put up a false bravado. He noticed that the young man was carrying an axe, and that made him feel much better. Yana had found a fire extinguisher as well. In case of trouble, the three would stand a good chance of at least distracting their predators and getting the hell out. But what really scared Alec was that he had no idea what to expect. Before at the concert, holograms came to life and almost killed him. A giant monster appeared from nowhere and began wreacking havoc. What would happen this time? The museum was full of ancient things - the last thing he wanted to do was to go through the ancient Egyptian section. Those pyramids contained some nasty traps...
In the center of the room, Alec saw a giant Triceratops model that looked rather menacing. The last thing he needed was a pile of giant dinosaur bones coming at him that wanted to eat him alive. He could also picture getting swallowed by a pit of tar. And being stepped on. Sheesh the Jurassic period would have been a terrible time to live. On the left wall was a giant wall of bones unfamiliar to Alec. He walked casually through the exhibit, looking around to make sure nothing was pursuing them yet. He knew that he had to turn left at the end of this exhibit and then they would have to circle around to the back where there would be a staircase. Up there was something important that he was drawn toward, but he didn't want to tell his friends what it was just yet. For now, he had a job, and he knew that they would aid him very well. Otherwise they would all die.

Nate listened to the man’s short plan and automatically followed along. In all honestly, Nate was still in a state of shock. The whole situation was extremely terrifying and extremely overwhelming. The fear of death hung over them and tension in the air was clearly palpable.
Slowly, they made their way into the dinosaur exhibit of the museum. The room was empty because the panicking people were all in the lobby where they were trying to break down the doors. With all the people converged in the lobby and the security cameras out due to the lack of electricity, Nate realized that it gave the them free range of this half of the museum.
Nate looked around the dinosaur room. As usual, the glassy eye of the giant triceratops in the center of the room seemed to follow the trio as they carefully stepped in. Unfortunately, the creatures of the museum seemed even more menacing as they continued going through the room. It was dark, but the emergency lights as well as the battery powered lights still illuminated the room. It was not very bright but what little light was available helped so that they could see a couple feet in front of them as their eyes adjusted to the darkness. Nate suddenly wished that he had looked to see if there was a flashlight at the front desk. At least they would not have to worry about tripping or running into anything although they would still needed to proceed with caution.
Whatever the case, the inanimate dinosaurs were the least of their worries. They needed to get out of the museum unharmed.

But we won't fade into darkness
Yana was more than ready to get out of here. She could look at pictures online when she got home! Yes, she could do just that. Keeping that thought process at hand, that she WOULD make it out of here, made her feel a little bit better. The next room was filled with bones of different creatures. She kept close to her two new friends and kept quiet. The girl was barely over five foot and was tiny compared to the two men next to her. She was going to do her best to make sure that they got out of this situation alive.
The news had given a body count at the Anhiem center and had blamed it on a hate group tampering with the concert building itself, causing parts of it to short circuit and collapse. The case was still wide open as of yesterday, because some of the marks on those columns had definitely not come from electrical wires. Yana took a deep breath as they walked through the room. Some of the other people from the lobby were beginning to find hiding places now, afraid that the mist would over take them. However, the lobby was screaming with frightened people and Yana felt some relief that they were moving /away/ from them now. "I'm Yana, by the way..." What sort of thing would look suspicious?
She didn't know, but the bone figurines around them looked normal, if a little odd in the dark. Yana didn't pull the flashlight out yet - instead she went off the light the others were using. Yana heard more footsteps behind them and a group of teenagers ran past them, screaming in the dark as they went to go and hide in the next room. Apparently people were fleeing the mob that had formed in the lobby. "We better hurry, before a stampede of people get here," Yana warned quietly. The moment called for quiet, although she wasn't sure why. The sooner they moved from this room, the better. For right now these two would be her new team mates. It was better to be in a group anyway, she thought. She was starting to feel better as she rationalized what was happening. She couldn't do anything about the fog, but she could be smart - she could adapt to the situation, and then she could get away.

Lub-dub, lub-dub, the sound of a heart beat rang even louder on the second floor, yet still no one could hear it. Or was that a lie? The tablet could feel as both Fate and Destiny hovered near by, but what felt weird was that there was one essence that was getting closer. Could this person hear it? Could they feel the vibrations the tablet gave off as it called to be saved.
If the tablet could feel fear it would have when it noticed just how close Fate and Destiny had gotten. This just would not do, they were not allowed to claim such power as their own. Wanting nothing more then to protect itself the tablet started to hum, but would that do anything useful? Because for as long as the tablet was away from the room its power was only half of what it could really do.

Dinosaur Room | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
It started as a faint glow, a purple like glow that covered four of the dinosaur skeletons. This glow was very light, but was not missed in the darkness. This glow was steady and did not falter as the tablet worked its magic on the bones of creatures that were once alive long ago.
The first to be affected by this power was the Triceratops. The movement was subtle at first, it was like waking up from a dream. The large creature moved its shoulder bones, popping sounds coming off of the dinosaur. The purple glow grew until the spin, ribs and tail of the Triceratops was covered, where an eye used to be was now met by a calm light blue sphere. As instincts took hold the Triceratops started to move, leaving the stand that had been holding its bones in place for years. All this time the creature did not notice the people in the room, most screaming, crying or in shock from the sight before them. Triceratops ignored them all and moved towards the exit opposite of the group of three. There it parked itself, blocking the only exit clear of the purple mist.
The next to move was the young Apatosaurus who was quick to notice that it had little room to move. So when it did try its weight alone from its movements caused the stand it was on to snap. Slightly startled it panicked and took a step back. A scream was heard before a loud crunch followed. The Apatosaurus turned its head around, using its long neck to get a better look at what made the sound. The man it had stepped on was no longer moving. No longer interesting in the lifeless body it set its green orbs for eyes on the group of three near the exit. It watched them, but did nothing more.
The family of Compsognathus, they moved around the same time that the Apatosaurus had awoken. These little hunted scattered across the while room splitting up and causing trouble. Two took too 'feeding' on the man the Apatosaurus had stepped on. One found a lady to pester and started attacking her hair, another decided to chew on some exposed wires. These wires were connected to the lights of the Triceratops' stand. If chewed threw the room would be plunged into darkness. There was one Compsognathus left, this one, being the brave one of the group of five changed right for Nate, snapping at the man's ankles.
The last to awaken was the hanging Pterodactyl, though it did not take long for this flying beast to free itself of the wires that tied it to the ceiling. Once freed it flew around the room, slamming into hanging lights as it did. These lights in turn started to fall, but wait, how was a creature of only bones flying? How strong was the powers of this tablet really? The Pterodactyl picked a target then then swooped down, aiming right for Alec and Yana.

Destiny & Creation | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
As the group moved into the room Destiny decided that they would have to do. These three humans, like it or not, were now under the watch of Destiny. The first thing that needed to be done was to keep them from turning back. No one said Destiny could not use the same trick again. The passage way that the group of three walked through was quickly blocked by the same purple mist as the main lobby. At least now these humans would not be allowed to move backwards. With Destiny in charge only forward was allowed.
Now with them trapped they should move forward correct? Destiny them noticed a problem, what if, like so many other humans, these three were over come by fear and did not move? If that was the case then they would be of no use, this problem needed to be fixed, the group needed to be moved. Of course while Destiny worked its magic, it had not been prepared for the retaliation of the tablet. This would just not do, Destiny searched the room till it found the perfect weapon. The stone tablet of those three velociraptors would do, their souls were still trapped within the tar that held strong to the tablets.
Forcing its power into the black tar, Destiny pulled the three souls out and gave them new life. This whole process was hidden in the darkness from the human. These velociraptors, given new life would work under Destiny's control. Just like in the movies these velociraptors had no body, but were still considered a solid mass. They were see thru, had a slight light blue haze about then and yellow eyes. The three split up withing the darkness, their attention were not on the humans just yet. With new life they needed time, only minutes, while they became stronger. Post by ALEC MATTHEWS on Dec 16, 2012 23:06:55 GMT -8
Alec could do nothing but watch in horror as things began to animate around him. A cold drop of sweat slowly caressed his left cheek as the dinosaurs began coming to life. He had stopped moving to watch the horrendous scene play out, paralyzed by fear and anxiety. It would have made more sense had the creatures, now coming to life, had flesh, organs, and maybe some blood, but there were giant piles of bones coming to life everywhere. Alec closed his eyes for a moment and started praying again, hoping that his two teammates didn't realize how scared he was. They probably were just as frightful, but he wanted to be strong for them. He felt that it was his duty.
However, things started getting crazier by the second. Now it seemed like the entire exhibit was alive with dinosaurs everywhere roaming the room. Over to his right, a man cried out before a sickeningly loud crunch filled the room. Immediately Alec felt nauseated - he knew exactly what happened, and he didn't want to stick around to find out. The last thing he wanted to do was to break into a sprint, though, because a giant triceratops was now blocking their way to the next exhibit. He felt that need, that push to keep going, but he turned around to reevaluate his decision, only to be met by that familiar purple haze. Now they were stuck, and they had to figure something out.
Alec turned to Nate and grabbed his arm just above his wrist. His neck craned to the right and looked at Yana, hoping she wasn't about to flip her lid. He was surprised that he was able to keep quiet himself, but he figured that a young woman like her would have run around the room screaming. But no she was much smarter than that, and brains were all they had to go on at this point. "Guys...What do we need to do? We have to get to the nex-"
And then it all happened. The giant pile of bones along the left wall leaped off and snapped at Nate. He didn't have time to react because just after the dinosaur came after Nate, a Pterydactyl soared doward for him and Yana. Instinct. Pure survival reflexes took over, just like last time, and he began working to get them out of danger. Alec tried to shov Yana to the right and attempt to roll away out of the prehistoric beast's reach, but he was never any good at quick reactions. Now that they were getting attacked, he had to formulate some plan to keep them all from being eaten or crunched, but there wasn't much to go on. The lighting was terrible and there were crazy dinosaurs everywhere, some that didn't bother the group and some that seemed deadset on dinner. Alec put on his big boy face and tried to act tough, but there wasn't much he could do or say. They had to just stay alive until a plan could be formulated.

Although the bones were long dead, the remains now began to move on their own. Nate thought that they were dealing with terrorists. This was completely beyond him. He had no idea what was going on anymore as he watched the dinosaurs come to life and shuffle around the room. One the smaller dinosaurs with a name that Nate cannot pronounce, turned its attention towards him and began nipping at his ankles. Nate began to back away from the razor sharp teeth of the little monster. Under normal conditions (like this could ever be normal) he would have kicked the thing or hit it with the axe he was holding. But at the moment, he was too busy staring at it from shock to be able to properly register what was going on.
Even worse was when he noticed the other dinosaurs in the room. More purple haze had blocked off their way to the lobby leaving only one other exit which had now been obstructed by the hulking figure of a triceratops. There was now no way out of this chaos and the three of them were stuck in the middle of it.
"Guys...What do we need to do? We have to get to the nex-" Alec’s words were cut off when the pterodactyl bones came sweeping down on Yana and Alec. Luckily for Nate, he was out of range. Nate was able to breathe a sigh of relief when the pterodactyl missed them. Now, what do we do next indeed. The goal was to get out, and their two choices were currently blocked. Nate thought quickly thanks to the adrenaline rushing through his veins,. He was no good in a situation like this but at least the exit was obvious. They just needed to choose one. ”W-well we can either try to get through the purple cloud or we could try to get through the Triceratops. I’m thinking the dinosaur just because the bones have openings what do you think?”
They needed to move fast before the something else happened. The pterodactyl was still a threat as were the tiny dinosaurs moving in the corner. If they wanted to live they needed to take advantage of the darkness and momentary peace to run.

But we won't fade into darkness
The room around them came alive and Yana could only watch in amazement as everything spun together around them. Tiny dinosaurs, a huge triceratops, and some sort of large... thing... all came to life. The sickening crunch made Yana immediately turn green as she clutched her mouth and held the fire extinguisher close to her stomach as it rolled unpleasantly. Yana knew the moment she smelt that mess, she might go out like a light for a few seconds. She'd seen someone cut their finger off on accident at chef school and she'd passed out on the spot for a minute. That was a finger, imagine a whole person!
Yana was shaking when a screech sounded above them and through the darkness she saw something head straight for them. Alec pushed her down to the floor and she rolled a little, hitting the ground past Nate's feet. Oh good lord, what next?!
As if someone had heard her thought, the two boys next to her asked what they should do, aside from the obvious 'keep moving' bit. Nate pointed out that the Triceratops was just bone, even though it was blocking the exit. "Run between it's legs like red rover, but let's go!" Yana pulled herself back up to her feet as the dinosaurs screeched and the people in the lobby started screaming even louder. "I don't know about you, but dinosaur food is not what I intend to become today. Just be quiet." At that point she could hear the other dinosaurs snacking on the man that had been squished. What better time to leave then while they were busy? Yana grabbed Alec and Nate and started making her way to where the glowing triceratops was. It stood almost peacefully, munching away at the fake grass on another dinosaur's stand.
Yana eyeballed it for a moment before ducking down and going between it's legs as carefully as she could. Once she was through the doorway, she made as little sound as possible and waited for her two friends to come through.

Dinosaur Room | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
The young Apatosaurus was not as care free as the others, he was still young and without his mother. There were things around him that he did not understand and creatures that he feared would hurt him. Yet when he stepped on one, not meaning to, it had stopped moving. Not really being able to think of anything better the Apatosaurus decided that if he stepped on them all then he would be safe. He found another of the soft fleshy things, this one was being attacked by two of the small one. Quickly without thinking it through the Apatosaurus stomped down on the women. The crunching of bones of both human and dinosaur echoed the room.
Only now did the room get quiet. There were only a few humans still alive. The three near the front, and a young man, about high school age who was hiding in a corner, using his backpack as a shield. With two of his brothers dead one of the Compsognathus took to mourning them, he had told the brother that had been eating with him to leave the screaming flesh alone. And yet his brother has went off to join the youngest of their pack, on to get stepped on, what a way to go.
This Compsognathus knew he would be smarter, he would not get stepped on. So he ran off to go find a safer place to play. The only spot lights left in the room suddenly turned off due to the chewing habit of one of the three remaining Compsognathus. This one was not the smart one for sure, he was a bit derp-ish, so when he finally bit through the wire a surge of electricity shocked though his bones and sparked. This in turn set the Triceratops stand on fire, the fake greenery catching on fire easily enough. Now on fire the small Compsognathus started to run around the room in a panic, the pain he felt was horrid as his bones started to melt. He was literally a running, skeleton on fire, and he headed right for the two men.
The final Compsognathus, who had been snapping at the ankles of Nate got angry very quickly when his fun was interrupted by that blasted flying beast. Then while he was distracted his meal ran away from him, in anger he followed Nate. Once the man stopped he dived right for Nate's ankle.
The Pterodactyl on the other hand was dumbfounded when it had missed its attack. This would just not do, they were in his territory and he was going to show them who was boss. The great beast landed only a fair three yards away, careful to stay away from the burning stage. He opened his mouth, as if to roar, but no sound came out, fear settled in as he spotted a blue creature to his right. In his panic he forgot about the humans and fumbled away.
The Triceratops still paid no mind to the group, or any of the other humans for that matter. It was as if 'she' had little to worry about. The small meat eaters would not harm her, and the others in the room were no trouble. She knew herself to be big and strong, no other could harm her. As if off in her own little world the moving bones started to graze. Which was strange since there was no grass on the ground. In fact the Triceratops was not never a living creature, so why was it that she moved as if she was spending another day like no other. Even the movement of the woman did not scare her, she only stood still, but just as the woman slipped pass something spooked her. The Triceratops started to run, the only thng that could scare her was right behind her.

The brothers still moved around the room, staying hidden. There was no reason to be seen, no reason to attack. These humans were the targets for sure, but so far opportunity was just not there. The youngest of the three, anger as his tool, moved across the room. He did not care of he was seen, or not, he had spotted his own pray. Let his older brothers stalk all they wanted, he was bored of it.
Remember that Compsognathus that was sure he would live if he played it smart? He was the target the young Velociraptor pounced from the darkness. His blue body, which did not glow, was see through, but there was no bones in this creature. His teeth came down on the smaller dinosaur and he crushed it within seconds. A second death for the Compsognathus had came quickly, and the Velociraptor was pleased with his kill. He stood tall, and then noticed the Triceratops. If he could smile he would have, he roared, his booming voice followed the Triceratops as it did its best to run away. Yes, this was going to be fun. He eyed the two men, Destiny did not need all three humans correct?
The two Velociraptor who had been hiding until now joined their brother. They made a few clicking sounds as they shared their unhappiness with their brother. Now what? Should they eat these two men? The three bickered with each other for a moment, but the youngest still had his eyes on the two men. | [cs=3][atrb=style,width: 460px; text-align: center; padding-left: 20px; padding-right: 20px;]

Alec wasn't expecting the giant display in the center of the room to go up in blazes. In fact, the fire illuminated the whole room, giving the teenager a much better idea of what was going on. Now he could see the other types of dinosaurs clearly, and that didn't make him feel much better. Yana managed to slip right through the bones of the Triceratops with little to no problem whatsoever; however, Alec and Nate wouldn't have to worry about that. The other dinosaurs were now alarmed and becoming wary of the fiery display from hell, and Alec could only imagine how anxious it was making them. Now was their chance to get out of there. He instinctively grabbed Nate's wrist and started pulling him toward the exit previously blocked by the dinosaur, ignoring the chaotic commotion going on behind them. If they could make it to the next exhibit, they'd be better off....hopefully.
As Alec reached the next room, he noticed that it was much less dangerous. In fact, the only bones that were moving in this room were smaller creatures that resembled a horse. He wasn't aware of what it was, but they didn't seem very aggressive at the moment. He turned to look at Yana (and Nate if the man came along) and sighed, continuing at a steady pace so that they wouldn't lose much time. "Okay, so something like this happened at the concert last time. The holograms of the Vocaloids came to life and nearly beat me to death - so as you can see, anything is possible. I don't know what's causing this, but it can't be good. I'm glad we made it out, but we have to keep going. The Ice Age Exhbit is just ahead where we'll make a left, and then there are staircases back a little further. We need to head up to the second floor."
At that time, Alec noticed the raptors that were just behind the trio. He had a sneaky feeling that something was following them, but he didn't feel threatened by them. They seemed to be...not escorting, but more like stalking them. Though he was pretty afraid of the vicious-looking dinosaurs, he tried to act like he didn't even notice them. In fact, he started to smile (in spite of his constant "need" to piss himself). He was always one to smile in crazy situations, and being stalked by three prehistoric carnivores seemed to fit into that "crazy" category. The one thing about history was that Alec never paid attention in school, so he had no idea what type of dinosaur they were nor if they were planning to eat them anytime soon. Trying to keep calm, his voice dropped to a low whisper while he continued his pace. "I don't know if you've noticed, but I think we have company...Don't acknowledge them though. Just pretend like they aren't there. So far they haven't harmed us...Maybe they aren't out to eat us." By now, they had made it a little more than halfway through the fossil mammal exhibit.

The sickening crunch that resounded through the room when another man was stepped on nearly caused Nate to throw up. Then there was a large spark and what little light there was in the room went out. The spark, however, set the fake plants within the exhibits ablaze and the fire was spreading rather quickly.
At least we can see now, was Nate’s initial thought. But then he looked across the room and spotted three creatures he had not noticed previously. Three very dangerous looking velocirators stood together at the other side of the room. If there was any reason to be worried, it would probably be because of those creatures. Of course, then one of the tinier dinosaurs caught fire and began running straight for him. The other one that had been nipping at his leg previously charged at him once again along with the running pile of bones. Nate panicked and took his axe and swung it at the one closer to him: the dinosaur that was not on fire. We need to get out of here.
Luckily, Yana was already past the Triceratops which was acting relatively docile. And due to the fire, the triceratops quickly moved away from the doorway, giving them entrance into the next room. Nate ran afte the other two into the next hall in order to elude the one on fire. He hoped that it would not chase them into the next room. There, the once dead creatures were also coming back to life. However, this room was a lot less chaotic and a lot less dangerous than the last. Most of the creatures were small save for these large, horse-like creatures that did not at all appear menacing.
”What the hell was that back there?” Nate managed weakly. He was still pale from the shock and disgust at seeing people being crushed to death before his eyes. Breathe, come on. You need to get out of this place.
Nate listened to Alec’s prompt explanation. It made sense and yet it did not. So it was not a terrorist attack but magic, science, or something creating actual monsters in this world. In that case who was the one animating them? Why here? And why now? There were so many questions he wanted to ask but there was no time and from the looks of it Alec did not know either. So perhaps, he had misjudged Alec. If Alec was crazy then so was he and from what he could tell, he was not insane. Yet...
At any rate, they had to trust each other if they were to get out of this situation alive. Nate nodded in agreement to his plan to get on the second floor of the museum. Although he would love to know why, something told him that they would figure that out eventually. And beside, I will bet that the emergency exits would be blocked with the purple mists too.
When they were nearly halfway through the mammal hall, Nate suddenly noticed Alec smiling. ”Is something wrong?” Nate listened closely to Alec speak. It was quiet but just loud enough that he could make out what he was saying. What was Alec saying? Was there something following them? Nate stiffened at the thought. Nonetheless, Nate continued walking and did not turn around. He did not know what they were but he would rather not look and instead chose to ignore them. Instead he continued his gait and followed Alec on the path to the next room. As long as (read: he pretended) they did not exist he would be fine.

But we won't fade into darkness
There was something to be said about the calm before the storm. Just as Yana was running out, all hell broke loose inside of the dinosaur exhibit. The mini raptors had chewed through the electric wires and when the lights went out, the fire went on. Yana watched from the other side of the doorway as her team mates tried to get through the doorway. The giant triceratops got skittish and left the doorway as the young ‘long neck’ as she called it started to crash around in the room. Yana waited anxiously at the doorway for her team mates.
What was taking them so long? She could see the outlines of people now. She heard someone get sick inside of the room and she felt her own stomach roll unpleasantly. There was another loud crunch, a squeak from another dead body, and Yana could see it on the floor now. Fear gripped her heart as she stared at the body until another dinosaur ran past her line of vision and broke the eye contact. Why was this happening? Who could want so many people to be hurt by crazy magic like this??
She’d never been superstitious, per say, but growing up her brother Ivan had told her stories. They were fond, but somewhat fuzzy memories for her now. Ivan had told her stories about princesses and dragons, and how the knight had to be so brave to save her. Looking at these dinosaurs now, she found that she was going to have to pluck up her own courage, or she’d be a squished puddle on the ground like the others in front of her.
“Alec, Nate!” Yana’s voice was full of relief when the two of them finally did come out, but something moved behind them that she saw in the doorway. Ghostly, shadows played off of their fully skinned features and if it hadn’t been for the boys immediately dragging out of the doorway, she might have stayed rooted to the spot. That dinosaur had no bones; it was… it was fully fleshed. Alive even ! “G-guys…” She backed away from the door and then followed after them quickly as they slowed inside of the fossil exhibit. Alec mentioned that something was following them and Yana tried her hardest to just stare ahead and not look behind.
“They’re raptors, with skin,” she whispered. She felt her skin crawl at the thought of it. She was not a lizard person, but a lizard her size? Count her out! Fear wasn’t going to help them though, so she swallowed it and put on her bravest face that she could muster and held the fire extinguisher. The backpack on her back jostled slightly with her movements as they slowed down. Most of the animals here were behind glass cases. She saw a few horse like… things… moving behind a glass wall, but the fossils didn’t really move (that she could see). They were only imprints of things, surely… Yana shook her head.
But what to do? If they were being herded to other raptors, she’d be mad. What they needed is a distraction – something that could buy them some time. Her eyes went back to the horses inside of the case and Yana got an idea. “Hang on, don’t go too far. Nate, bring your axe. Move with me as a group.” She waited for Alec and Nate as she headed over to the glass case with the horses. “Let’s give them something to chase.” She moved and then swung the extinguisher into the glass. It instantly shattered and the sheet of glass came down that housed some of the horses.
She knew horses were skittish and the moment they had an opening to get away from something, they would take it. Wild horses didn’t put up with anything either. With some luck, they’d see the raptors as a threat and run, drawing their attention. Or, if they had any mule in them, they’d kick the hell out of the raptors as if they were coyotes. They were obviously predators. Eyes in the front, time to hunt, eyes on the side, run and hide, as the old rhyme went.

The Compsognathus which had been chasing Nate stopped dead where the room ended and met another room. The small creature knew not to leave the room, he might have only been bones brought to life, but the feeling of danger outside the room was over whelming. He noticed the raptors and ran to hide. Outside of the room was scary, but those raptors were even worse.
Then there was that derp-dino, the Compsognathus that had set himself on fire reached the door way and fell head over tail right into the pants leg of Nate. The bones were lifeless once again, blacken from the fire. The flames licked at his pants, and then reached out for Yana.

In an instant the flame turned into a fire snake, floating above the ground. The heat coming off this sake was high, and yet Yana would feel none of it. It shot forward before anyone could react, sliding passed broken glass as it wrapped around Yana's leg. Post by ALEC MATTHEWS on Dec 24, 2012 8:39:26 GMT -8
It wasn't that Alec didn't agree with Yana's decision to set loose the horse-like mammals, but he didn't know how that was going to help other than making the velociraptors mad. Surprisingly it did a little of both, and Alec was caught off guard. One of the giant dinosaurs managed to fall from the other room and into this one. Problem was that it was on fire. Nate's pants were set ablaze! Without thinking, Alec went to yelling at the young man. "Drop your pants they're on fire!".
By the time Alec managed to squeak out those words, a raptor came at him quickly. He threw his left arm up in defense, keeping the giant teeth from sinking into his head. He helped in pain, feeling bursts of pain sear through his entire arm. While the raptor was tearing into his arm, Alec reached into his pocket and grabbed his knife, flicking it open and stabbing the dinosaur in one swift motion. The knife stuck into the dinosaur as it would real scales, giving Alec the chance to free his arm.
He jerked it back quickly and stepped backward, eyeing the beast carefully.
He was tired of being afraid. "What the hell do you want with me? I am not running anymore. I want answers NOW!" Alec stood his ground, knife in one hand (he retracted it from the dinosaur as soon as he freed his arm) and a determined look on his face. He would show no fear to this beast - he was sick and tired of being scared. He flashe back to the concert, remembering how scared he was. Right now he felt none of that, but it was more than likely only a temporary bravado.
He had missed the weird process that Yana just went through. Thankfully. Otherwise he would have been distracted and most likely eaten alive.

There was chaos as the horses that Yana had frightened ran out of their exhibit and across the room towards the cafeteria. Nate turned around and finally saw what had been following them from the room. The translucent velociraptors were in the same room. Nate froze up with fear. This is why I didn’t want to look! Nate felt himself breathe a small sigh of relief when two of the velociraptors ran in the direction of the horses. Unfortunately that relief was short lived. The last of the velociraptors stayed in place. Nate’s first instinct was to run. He could practically feel the adrenaline running through his system as the velociraptor eyed the trio.
What happened next was a complete blur. The velociraptor drew Nate’s attention, leaving him unprepared for the tiny dinosaur that had run from the previous room. The frenzied ball of flames ran towards his leg, setting his pants on fire. Nate barely heard Alec’s shouting as his mind raced in an attempt to remember what to do when one’s persons caught on fire. Stop and do something. What was it?!
He let out a cry of surprise as his brain began to register the pain. Nate started to panic as the fire spread around his pants leg. The flames were burning him and he could not even remember basic steps to putting out the fire. He was going to die. He was going to die a painful death unless he could somehow put out the fire.
The fire distracted Nate from the strange event that had happened to Yana as well as the velociraptor’s attack. Obviously he had more pressing matters to worry about.

But we won't fade into darkness
The Russian blond couldn't have been more pleased when her plan worked. The velociraptor closest to them immediately went after the frightened horses as Yana jumped out of the way, crouching under the display. The horses jumped off the display and rushed towards the cafeteria with one velociraptor on their tail, quickly joined by a second. She'd seen Jurassic Park and knew that they normally didn't go in just pairs. Where was the third one?
The next thing she knew, there was more screaming by Nate, quickly followed by Alec. What in the hell was going on?! The fire from the dinosaur that had rubbed up against Nate was now on his pant leg, but something else was there too. A shape formed and Yana looked at the snake with wide eyes as it shot out at her. "No!" She jerked backwards as she tried to get the fire extinguisher ready, but she couldn't even pull the trigger before it had wrapped around her leg. There was no pain, like she was expecting, but her pantleg did burn off. Yana sprayed her pantleg for good measure. The fire had been so hot it had melted the threads, making her pant leg fall off just above the knee.
Nate was still screaming, and now Alec was yelling and screaming even more. She looked up to see the third raptor was there and she swore in a symphony of Russian before kicking her pant leg off. The mark of the snake wound around her leg and went into her skin, tattoo'ing itself in a deep red across her skin. It looked like a fresh burn, but she couldn't feel it, the heat, or any pain. Regardless, now wasn't the time to focus on such trivial matters.
The fire in Nate's pants, however, was something that needed her immediate attention. "Hold still darn you!" Yana got close and squirted the stream down his pant leg in one fell swoop before turning to look at the raptor that had attacked Alec. His arm was bloodied and she barely glanced at him as she kept her eye on the raptor. Taunting it probably wasn't the best idea, but hell, it looked like a ghost. Yet it had shredded Alec's sleeves and part of his arm. "Nate, focus. Get your axe." Her voice was loud but calm as she stood in front of him and by Alec, the fire extinguisher in her hands. She knew the chemicals would hurt like hell if they got in the eyes...
"Alec, it's a raptor. It's not going to talk back to you... but it is herding us." Or hunting us, but she hoped it was herding. "And the raptor's ungodly smart. What, you herding us somewhere? That it?" Yana felt the adrenalin pump through her as she stared the raptor down. She was crazy, this was crazy, but... what other choice did she have? "You want us to go somewhere? Fine, let's go. You can even lead the way!" Maybe it was the Russian coming out of her, but she was mad. On top of all of this madness, she now had a serpent mark crawling up her leg for the whole darn world to see and she didn't even know what it meant. Yana was in no mood to play games.

Destiny & Creation | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
The lone Velociraptor was finding that humans were not easy pray, they had tools that made them difficult. The knife dug into his 'skin' and the beast panicked just long enough for the young man to move away from him. This was bad, Destiny had promised protection, but did not explain that they could still feel pain. For being just spirits this Velociraptor was finding out that not everything was as he thought, he felt fear, just for that moment. What was his purpose? To lead? No. To herd? Yes, he was to push this group ahead and get them to the next floor. Yet he was now realizing that the danger ahead was not just bad for the humans, but for himself as well. He growled and backed away from the boy that had stabbed him. The wound never bleed, but he had felt pain, even though Destiny was kind enough to heal him. He knew that he had made a mistake, but now he would play by the rules. His yellow eyes focused on Yana, she was different, not by much, but there was something about her he did not like. The Raptor backed off, if they were willing to move then he would let them. Though, to be fair, even he was not willing to head into the next room first. Keeping a keen eye on the humans he called to his brothers, he would not leave without them. The other two raptors were quick and came to stalk behind the group of humans. The alpha, the one Alec stabbed, stood tall and made a clicking sound. The sound was followed by one of the other raptors forcefully pushing its nose into Yana to make the girl move forward. Fine, the Velociraptors would do as they were meant, but they were still not sure that Destiny needed all three humans for the task they would meet on the second floor. | [cs=3][atrb=style,width: 460px; text-align: center; padding-left: 20px; padding-right: 20px;]
Ice Age Room | [cs=3][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 450px; text-align: center; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px;]
The Ice Age Room, full for countless animals and cramped spaces. Most of the creature brought to life were still behind glass walls. They looked confused and dazed as they awoke from what felt like a deep slumber. Yet there were a few that roamed free, from the entrance of the room the group would be able to see the Mastodon, who stood still in fear of somethings quiet worrisome. About four feet to the left, on a sold glass case was a North American Lion who was facing off with a Megistotherium. The Megistotherium was trying to claim the room as its territory, and the Lion seemed to want to do the same.
Out of sight there were other dangers in the room, such as a Sabertooth tiger, who, at the moment, was stalking an Irish Elk. All these thing were no imitate danger for when the group moved to the room. Yet there was something watching them, waiting for the perfect time to attack. Overhead near the entrance was a large Teratorn, perched and waiting to spot the weakest of the group. Human or Dinosaur, it did not matter, this Teratorn was out for blood and that was all that mattered. The group will have to be careful when entering this room, darkness means that the chance of something seeing them before they see it is high. Cramp spaces means little run to run, but this might also be a good thing. It was also why the Teratorn was only stalking and not attacking, it needed room to both fly and swoop down on its target.

"Damn..." Alec realized where she was coming from - to her, dinosaurs couldn't speak. But what she didn't realize was that he had witnessed unthinkable things before, and by now he assumed even the most ridiculous things could happen. Talking dinosaurs were definitely included. In the heat of the moment, though, he didn't take offense to it. Something about that girl was amazing. She managed to get the raptor to step back (but Alec DID stab the thing) and gather some space between them for a moment. Since the dinosaur wasn't made of flesh and real blood, his knife was still clean, and he began cutting the left sleeve off his green shirt. He wrapped the torn piece of fabric around his arm, tying it tightly so the bleeded would either slow down or stop. Never had he thought he would have to do this, but he had witnessed it in many movies before.
Once more, though, the group was prodded along by the raptors. The difference now was that the raptors seemed a bit more tame... Alec didn't buy this and assumed it was just an act, and keeping his knife in his right hand was priority. He still carried the cane in his left hand, almost forgetting that he had it. There was still a pen and a cell phone in his left front pocket, but he had yet to find any use for it just yet. The group continued forward into what looked to be an Ice Age exhibit. Alec racked his brain trying to think of all the animals he had learned of that lived in the Ice Age...The only two he could think of was a wooly mammoth and a saber toothed tiger. Neither of those sounded pleasant right now.
As they entered, Alec noted that it was still pretty dark in the museum. He could make out a few emergency lights here and there, but the room was still fairly dark. One thing that he also remembered from school was that most animals relied on senses other than sight to detect their prey. He felt like he was in some story book, thrown from world to world in an alternate reality. Unfortunately for him this wasn't the case; all of this was very real, and to get out alive he somehow knew that they needed to get up to the second floor. There was something there calling his name...He'd know it when he saw it, but they had to make it there first.
"Okay we've gotta be super careful here. Most of these things are in their cases but...for how long I don't know. We just need to get through this next room, make a left, and head up the staircase. I say we try for stealth, but if that doesn't work we make all hell break loose and break the glass everywhere. That might give us a distraction long enough to get outta here. I've got a phone that might be of use. Just...please be careful." Alec's voice was almost a whisper, but to him it carried a heavy emotion. He was weary from their "journey" so far, but they were getting close. Now wasn't the time to give up.

Thanks to Yana's quick thinking, his leg was no longer on fire but there was still the issue of the pain. There was a throbbing pain where the fire had burned his skin. The burns looked minor needed to be treated as soon as possible.
Yana's orders brought Nate's attention back to the raptor standing before them. He was still terrified of the whole situation but his survival instinct was strong and having two other people here to help was also helpful. He could not flee so all he could do to stay alive was to fight. He tightened his grip on the old, wooden axe. He would need it now that his leg was hurt. There was no way he could move as fast as he did before. And if Yana was correct about the Velociraptor herding them, he would need to keep moving.
The raptor before them backed a few steps but continued to glare at them. Nate could have sworn that the creature looked irritated for some reason. It turned towards the cafeteria and made barking noises in a way that, well, only a dinosaur could. In moments the other two that had run off to chase the horses had returned. Nate froze up again when they ran behind the trio. Are they herding us or is this some sort of attack formation? His question was answered when one of the creatures walked up to Yana and gave her a shove in the back. Herding. Okay, I can deal with this, breathe...
The velociraptors surrounded them and began guiding them to the next room. Nate moved his leg and immediately regretted the decision. It was painful but it was either that or risk angering the dinosaurs. And he would rather not die from being torn apart by raptors. Slowly, he followed the group into the next hall.
If the museum was anything like it was during his childhood, this room was smaller and cramped from all the exhibits. Unfortunately, the lack of light made it hard for him to discern very much in the room. If he was lucky he would not walk into anything. If he recalled, the ice age period was just as terrifying as dinosaurs. Who knew what other monster lurked in the darkness. He gripped the axe tighter and walked slowly into the room.
"Got it." Nate had tried to sound brave but his words came out in little more than a whisper. There was no more sense in anything anymore. He just wanted to survive, that was all he needed.

But we won't fade into darkness
Yana kept Alec and Nate as close to her as possible. Alec was their leader and he'd struck out and 'wounded' one of the velociraptors with his blade. The velociraptor screeched and clicked it's mouth to make sounds. The two brothers came back running and Yana tensed, bending at the knees a little as she held her weapon of choice tighter. They didn't move to attack her, but one of them did move for her.
Yana was quick to aim the fire extinguisher, but no teeth were shown as it forcefully pushed her towards the entrance of the room. Did... did she just get raptor nudged?! Yana let out a breath at the nudge before looking at Alec and Nate. "Come on, it's time for us to move on." She muttered something cross in Russian under her breath. The sooner they got this over with, the better she thought.
With the giant pack of lizards behind them, Alec led the way into the next room. Yana let Nate go first after giving his leg a worried look. She didn't have time to doctor him, not with the raptors behind them nudging them along. "The next stop, I've got cling wrap and burn spray in the first aid kit I lifted." She looked towards Alec next right before they entered the room. "You too, I want to see your arm." The archway was grand above them as they moved into the Ice Age room. The raptors glowed and lit up the floor, but not by much. Yana's eyes narrowed as she heard different things scampering about the room. They clung to the left wall with the Mastodon being absolutely still in the middle. Yana could just barely see it breathing until she heard a loud screech. The two cats in the glass case were fighting, circling and yowling at each other, unwilling to back down. Good, glass. Yana liked things being in glass containers. She let out a shaky breath and stuck close to Nate and looked over her shoulder at the velociraptors.
Hopefully they wouldn't let them get eaten.
